Ace Tub Repair

I thought I'd evaluated Ace Tub Repair already. Did Emily's not receive my comments? There were some challenges with adhering to schedule, but the experience was a positive one. They had to make an additional trip to smooth out the finish.

Several years ago we had the tile in our bathroom painted. We are preparing to sell the house and the paint had started to peel in the tub/shower area. Billy Jo quoted me a very reasonable price. He took great care to not only match the paint to the rest of what was in the bathroom, but to stagger the tape lines, so that it is not obvious that only the tub/shower area was reglazed. He even put in a new soap dish that makes the tub look much more updated. We were very satisfied.

Billy arrived early, took one look at the repair job and advised he wouldn't do it. He said he couldn't repair the tub. *** A note to Billy, I submitted this review and then contacted Angie's list and ask the review to be pulled/not submitted. I apologize that it was still submitted that is on Angie's list, the reason I requested it not be submitted was that another repair person advised me something similar. I am sure I still have the email from the person at Angie's list that advised it would not be posted per my request.

Great job! Billy provided helpful information in caring for the new glaze, was easy to schedule visits (required 3 due to need for plumber), was on time, focused with a mission and was very tidy, leaving next to nothing to clean up behind him. Would highly recommend him; he's been reglazing for 20+ years.

Very pleased....Billy worked with my contractor and everything went as planned. Price was very reasonable and he reiterated the 5 year warranty if we had any issues.

This was the second bath re-finisher we contacted. We made an appointment with Billy on 6/10/13 for June 24th & 25th to do 2 tubs. I took the day off to meet with him and he never showed or called. We try calling him on both his phone numbers and got no response. cost me a day's pay

Provider was punctual and explained the process during both visits. The second bath tub was not in as bad of shape as the first tub he refinished. When he started the job on the second tub he told me it was bonding so he would not have to do as extensive repairs as he had to do on the first tub. He only did what he felt was necessary, which save me two hundred dollars. I appreciated his honestly. While he was here my neighbor made arrangements for him to refinish one of his tubs.

He was able to give me a 5 year warrenty on my bathtub. He is a hardworker and did the work cleanly. The price was very reasonable.

I would recommend him to anyone. He did have an gas charge for driving to Williamsburg from Norfolk, but it wasn't unreasonable,

I called Billy and explained that I wanted a bathrub/shower combination refinished. Not because there was anything wrong with the tub, but that over time the finish had become deglazed. Billy quoted me the price, which was great, and set up an appointmnet for 0900 on the 23rd of February. He called while on the way, to verify directions and because it was raining, asked if he could back into my garage. This was because of not wanting the materials to be exposed to the rain. Upon arriving, I showed him the bathroom and he quickly began sanding the fiberglass. The whole process took just over 3 hours and the tub looks like it cam from the factory. Very professional person and work. Would definitely use again in the house or any that I might need work done.

We had a another company come and paint/reglaze our tub and tile back in August of 2012. The job was horrible and we had trouble getting them to come back out to our house. We called Bobby and came the next day. He explained why the previous job did not work and how he would do the job. He explained that he had to strip all the paint the previous company put on the tub and tile because they had not prepared the surface properly. He gave us a fair estimate and came out a few days later to start the job. He came on a Friday and stripped the tub and tile. Then he came out the next day and started to prepare the surfaces for the glaze. When he realized that it was impossible to prepare the wall tile because of the type of tile, he notified us (instead of trying to incorrectly paint the tile as the previous company had done). He made suggestions as to what we could do to the wall tile. He also let us know that we should get a plumber to fix the slow drain in the tub before he continued his work. We got a plumber who came over immediately and fixed the problem while Bobby patiently waited. Then Bobby completed glazing of the tub. It looks beautiful. Wish we had called him to begin with.

The tubs had been previously refinished, long ago. They were yellowed and the recoat had come off around the drains, so they looked awful. Ace fixed the to look gleaming white and smooth.

Left Billy a message to get estimate on resurfacing tub. He called back within 5 minutes. Made an appointment for about 1 week out. He arrivedf on time, did an excellent job on resurfacing my tub, came back the next day to apply new caulking. Will contact him soon to have other tub done!

Ace quoted me a price on the phone and came and refinished my tub for that price. Came on time. Cleaned well after service Would recommend them to anyone needing to resurface an older steel tub.

Overall I was satisfied for the price.

Very good experience. I was faced with possibility of having to cut out and replace a tub/shower unit that was installed when the house was built. This option saved me thousands of dollars with minimal inconvenience to my tenant. I would definitely recommend Ace Tub Repair and will keep them on my "Go To" List.

He seemed super friendly on the phone. He got back to me right away. A friend of mine used his services previously and was really happy with him as well. He is coming out tomorrow to do the work.

excellent communication, prompt arrival. I had two tubs and two sinks I needed to re-do, but when they LOOKED at my fixtures, three were just not doable- they were able to work on one tub. If your sink has crackling/cracking at the drain, this is what he's talking about and they CAN'T refinish the sink. Turns out I have one tub that is plastic over fiberglass, which they also can't resurface! (not their fault, and like I said, I'm glad they were honest and didn't try to "bandage" my current stuff) I appreciate that they didn't just try to fix something that shouldn't be fixed. So I have ONE shiny, amazing looking bathtub, and two vanities I just need to replace. Definitely would recommend!

I called to get pricing on having my tub repaired because the lining of my tub was peeling and I needed the tub refinished. I was told that the cost would be $325 to refinish the whole tub. I thought that was a reasonable price and scheduled the repair. He was able to come out in less than a week. He arrived on time and as soon as he looked at my tub he realized that it didn't need as much work as he thought. He said since just the bottom of the tub was peeling, he could sand down only that portion and blend in the lining as he refinishes it. I was concerned that there would be a visible line, but I was assured that there would not be a line around the tub from the old lining with the new one that he was doing. Since he wasn't doing as much work, he charged me $125 instead. It only took him about an hour and 15 minutes and he was done. He did a fantastic job and my tub looks great. He was able to give me advice on how to prevent my tub from peeling again in the future. If you don't want to redo your whole bathtub and walls, this is a much cheaper route to go. Considering I called Bath Fitters and their beginning price was $5,000 to redo my whole tub and walls, when all I needed was just the tub refinished or reglazed. I would use this company again in a heartbeat!

This is the first time I have used Angies List and found Ace Tub Repair because of the reports on it. My story from start to finish is above in the services performed. I goofed and didn't see this area. Highly recommend!

I called Ace Tub Repair on a Tuesday, and he was able to fit me into his schedule on Thursday, which was perfect because I happened to have a few days off. I had two tubs that were installed in the early 80s reglazed. Both tubs had chips and needed new caulking. It normally costs $250 / tub, but since I was having both of my tubs done on the same day, I saved $50.00. Ace Tub Repair arrived right on time. It took 4 hours to have both tubs done, and then Billy returned the next day to calk. He may have done the caulking on the same day, but I had an appointment I needed to get to. He finished his work in plenty of time for me to make my appointment. My tubs are gorgeous. They look like new. I am very happy with both the quality and the cost. I would definitely recommend Ace Tub Repair to anyone having their bathtubs reglazed.
