Ace Tub Repair

Billy took the time to make sure the job was done correctly. He also took the time to repair missing grout around the tub. I did have to clean up a little (debris left on the floor) but otherwise happy with the job.

No show on 2 different appointments a week apart. He never called either time to cancel. The first appointment he was a no show and I had to contact him. He stated that he had a death in the family so we rescheduled for the following Tues. I still have not heard from him. I have the numerous texts and attempted phone calls with no response. We lost money because of rescheduling. Worst business experience ever. Would not recommend to an enemy. On a personal level we hope he is well since we still haven't heard from him, but on a business level it's contractors like this that make it so **** ** the good ones.

He arrived on time and finished on time as scheduled. Very good professional work. It should be good for another 20 years.

On time, as described, careful and clean. I waited to see how it held up since I had heard that was a problem with this process. It has held up really well and looks great.

Billy was easy to contact and work with. He was on time and done in 3 hours. Not sure if that is fast or slow. The finish was smooth and excellent.

It went pretty well. There were some scheduling snafus at first, but once they were there the two workers put in a lot of time. The price was fair, and we were told to call if we noticed anything that may have been missed. They were polite and tidied up before leaving. When we found a few rough spots, a worker came out to sand and refinish them within a few days.

Contacted them two times. They never returned my message. In the end, I went with another vendor who did excellent work.

very pleased with the results. A+ Billy is a nice gentleman. I had a 30 year old tub with some issues. The results exceeded my expectations.

I am sorry we waited so long to have this done! Billy was easy to work with and the bathroom looks great. Price was very reasonable and our tub and fixtures look new. Painting took several hours one day and caulking was done the next in about 20 minutes. We were also given a 5 year warranty on the work.

I chose Ace Tub Repair based on Angie's List reviews. I called Billy to arrange an initial appointment / site inspection. He arrived on time and gave me a fair price. We made an appointment for the following Saturday. He was going to be late Saturday morning but sent me a text letting me know. Thats a plus for any contractor - communicating with me what the status is and not leave me wondering. In any event, even though he thought he might be late, he still showed up at the agreed time. Billy went to work quickly and taped off the bathroom before proceeding. When all was said and done, he cleaned up the job site and left everything as he found it. We also discussed the proper care of the newly glazed tub. He did a great job and although its only been a week, so far so good.

Excellent. Billy did a great job for a reasonable price. Made my old cast iron tub look like new.

Original owners had used poor glaze materials that was peeling bad. He came and took 1.5 days to fully remove old glaze and then sprayed epoxy white finish. Would have been much less if not for the labor to remove the bad job done previously. The tub and wall look brand new. Saved us thousands compared to replacing. He showed up on time and did everything as promised. No overspray or issues experienced. Job took 6 hours first day and 4 hours second. Then he came to chalk everything for an hour on day 3. Overall very satisfied.

On time, worked 5 hours and did an excellent job. Even came back to fix a small blemish and did some extra touch up at no charge.

These are rental properties. Tenants stated water was coming through the ceiling downstairs; while Billy (Ace) was upstairs working on the tub. I had to immediately call a plumber who determined the the leak was from the tub due to water being poured down the drain (which was not connected to the water/sewer lines). Billy (from Ace) stated that he poured buckets down the sink not the tub, until the plumber determined it came from the tub directly. Then it turned from pouring down the sink to I'll run it through my insurance company. I am unable to gain contact with this service provider to gain insurance information.

No response. Read other negative reviews on this company. They not concerned with responding to customers. Another Angie's List loser. Would not recommend to anyone

He cleaned up afterward and gave me a discount because of his scheduling conflict. He was kind and respectful and professional.

I have a rental property that the tub finish started to peel real bad and needed it fixed before my new tenants moved it. Some plumbers I had hired referred me to him. Called up Mr. Billy and he quoted me over the phone and told me exactly what he would do. He completely stripped the tub of its old finish and then reglazed the tub. The next day, the tub looked brand spanking new. It had a shine a have never seen on a white tube. My wife and i and the tenants were impressed. You can not go wrong with hiring Mr. Billy. He is the best at what he does, in my opinion, in Hampton Roads. I will reuse again.

After three years, a re-glazed tub at a rental house developed a rust hole around the drain. I called Billy and made an appointment with him to check it out. He was on schedule to the minute, did the necessary repair and touch up, and we were both on our way. Billy was very professional and explained what I needed to do to prevent further occurrences. There was no charge for the repairs as he had guaranteed his work for 5 years. Billy has the best warranty, and he backs it up. I appreciate that.

Excellent. Billy was easy to reach throughout. He got back to me within a day using either email or calling. He gave me an estimate for refinishing two of my tubs in white. On the day we had scheduled, he came on time, worked efficiently, and did a great job. There was a small fleck of material from somewhere that dried into one of the finishes. He stood by his guarantee and arranged a followup to take of it. A good price for honest, quality work that he stands behind. Highly recommended.

The tile and tub in my bathroom were in good shape but I wanted it changed from pink to white. Before choosing Ace Tub Repair I asked about their warranty on their work. I was told their warranty covered correcting any problems in the re-glazing for 5 years, the only condition being that any damage resulting from the use of anything with suction cups such as bath matts was not included. "Five Year Warranty" was written on the receipt, signed and dated 8/13/2010. No specifications or limitations in the warranty were provided. I mentioned that I was a member of Angie's List and the Ace man requested that I give him a good referral on Angie's List if I was happy with his work. The work looked great and appeared to have been well done. Incidental to this report: The Ace man told me that I needed to get my drain checked because it was very slow. It wasn't slow previous to the job so I was suspicious it was related to the work that was done. I hired a plumber to check it out and he pulled a latex glove like those used by Ace (and not by me) out of the drain which cost me an additional $80. I did not call Ace on it because I was very happy with the way the bathroom looked and the fact that I had a 5 year warranty so I let it go. I did write a glowing review on Angie's List for Ace and also recommended him later to a neighbor who hired him to do their bathroom. Within a year of the re-glazing my neighbor's tub began to peel. I told her to call Ace that I was sure he would fix it because he guaranteed his work for 5 years. I then began to notice a some minor pitting and speckling here and there on my tub where the pink showed through. It wasn't bad enough to worry about so I didn't call Ace. The pitting began to show up in more places including the outer rim of the tub and it became obvious that the problem was going to continue to pop up in more places. I made a call to Ace, fully expecting that the situation would be remedied with no questions asked since I still had a year left on my warranty. Instead of willingly coming out to correct the problem I found myself embroiled in a heated confrontation in which Ace implied that reporting a problem in the 4th year of a 5 year warranty was some kind ploy on my part to get free work done. I pointed out that there were no specifications or limitations in his warranty on when to report problems and asked what was the point of a 5 year warranty if not to assure the customer that any problems within a 5 year period would be remedied. Ace's response was to continue to question and grill me on why I waited until I only had 1 year left on the warranty to call and to accuse me of "just trying to make him come out and re-do the work." That was of course exactly what I expected him to do and with 20% of the life of the warranty still in effect I was dumbfounded at his implication that I was in any way responsible for the need to re-glaze the tub. As the pitting has occurred in multiple places, calling him out every time a new place occurred and having it patched until the warranty ran out would not have been satisfactory to me in any case. The warranty for 5 years was the reason I chose Ace to begin with. By this point Ace was verbally aggressive, belligerent, and unprofessional-- talking over me instead of listening to my concerns. As a result I would be very uncomfortable having him in my home and concerned that he would not do his best if he did re-do the work. I will find a new company and pay to have the job redone making the total cost of the project double what it should have been. e

I asked about built in safety grips and he added sand to the glaze on the bottom. This was lousy. Hold dirt very badly.

Superior customer service and workmanship! Bill Joe Price has been in the business for 20 years and his knowledge and expertise is evident. I wouldn't use anyone else but Ace Tub Repair in the future. When I spoke with Billy Joe, he was on a job and took time to speak with me about what work we needed done. After answering a few questions, I was quoted what I thought was a fair and reasonable price and made the appointment for services to be performed. Once he arrived and went over the 3 jobs to be performed, he was honest about the one that he couldn't do because the material was plastic. I was shocked that he even told me because he could have gone ahead and done that job as well and I wouldn't have known the difference. In today's world, honesty is virtually a thing of the past, it's nice to know that it's not extinct. The most difficult job was our 30 year tub that had seen better days and when you look at it now, I can't believe my eyes; it looks better than anything I looked at in Home Depot or Lowes and I paid a fraction of the cost! They also reglazed another 30 year old shower enclosure that didn't need any repair work but it certainly needed regalzing due to the age of the unit. The transformation of both areas is unbelievable. If your reading this at this point, pick up the phone and call Billy Joe Price, you won't be at all disappointed in the price,workmanship professionalism, work ethic, and punctuality of both him and his partner. What might not be important to some is very important to me, he left the areas cleaner than how he found them! Everyone is busy with these days and if you need felixble scheduling, he will work with you and your schedule. It's obvious that being punctual is very important to him as well. Both days, he quoted me a time and both days he arrived before his schedule time. You can't go wrong with Ace Tub Repair, they are the best in Hampton Roads. After they left, I went around the house wishing I had another job for them to do. Surely something else in this house can be reglazed. Don't waste your money buying a tub/shower, call Ace Tub Repair first and let them dazzle you with their work.

Billy Joe Price of Ace Tub Repair was responsive, flexible and easy to work with. The job went smoothly. He was professional and obviously knows tub repair very well. Fair price and good service.

On March 12th, three hours past the appointment time, I called him to see if he was still coming, and he asked if he could call me back ?in a minute?. That night I finally got a call for a gentleman who sounded a bit older. He explained that my appointment was actually for the March 15 th. I didn?t fuss about it because I could have made a mistake. He asked if I still wanted to do it. I told him it still needed to be done, thinking we still had the March 15 th appointment and trying not to say anything negative. I waited another three hours on the 15 th and once again no Billy and no phone call.
