The work he does is absolutely quality but he is not very responsive as far as responding to my inquiries and stuff like that. Once he gets his money he kind of forgets about you so you have to keep calling him. The quality of his work is outstanding, there is no question in my mind but to be honest kind of like if he needs you you keep asking your mind to clean your room.

How do you give a grade better than an A? They answered the phone right away and were able to get me into the schedule the same day. He arrived on time and was willing to let me watch so I could understand what was being done and ask questions about issues we had this summer. Once warm weather returns, we will definitely be calling to have minor issues with the system addressed.

I used this service in 2012 for weekly lawn mowing and leaf removal during the Fall months. They did a pretty good job most of the time. This year (a couple weeks ago - today is 10/25/2013), I contacted them to ask for an estimate to repeat the same service they did for me in 2012. They promised to come out and give me an estimate, but never showed. I've been reading reviews of this company on Angie's list that this company is not very reliable; they don't keep their promises. From my perspective I would have to agree with the other recent reviews. It seems that find good, reliable lawn services is hard to find these days. I'll have to keep looking, but I will not use Nueva Vista Landscaping again.

The owner was very professional and courteous. However, an early mowing that took no more than 15 minutes, showed signs of large wheel marks in the yard and the large mower used on a small hillside actually stripped grass to the dirt and proceeded into a flower bed with flowers mowed down. No mention was made to us! We called to complain, even sent pictures and the owner sent someone out to check - however nothing was actually done to fix it! The large mower wheel marks continued to appear in a small yard in fornt of our home. When a regular sheduled mowing was missed we called again to complain. The mowing crew also neglected completely a small strip of grass that had been poinetd out at the outset and had to be reminded. It seemed that the owner had good intentions but the crew he used did not seem to share that professionalism and quality of service concern with a far greater interest in just finishing the job as fast as could be done. Far from the quality of regular lawn care we were seeking at our home!

Crew arrived as arranged, raked about 125 55gallon bags of leaves, and cleared up branches also on the lawn. Placed leaves at the end of the driveway for pickup by AAA Disposal (as arranged).

,I have little faith in Angies List for yard and lawn category, either the companies are so swamped with work, I don't know why they waste time theirs and mine to pretend to give an estimate, if they aren't interested in the work be upfront about it, stop all this phony lying and saying I will send it to you tomorrow Walter had good reviews and appeared like a nice worker with his group, don't know why all this game playing in not telling the client "they are not interested" instead of wasting all this time I will continue with other service advisors groups, I had three immediate responses to my inquiry

They seem to be in such a hurry and they do not bag the grass they cut! It blows ALL over my plants in the front causing weeds to show-up like I have never had plus, it covers the very nice cover I had just put in with TONS of grass! I am going to let them finish the season, but I will be looking for a new Gardner next year.

It went very well. The patio had to be laid between a handicap ramp and fence with a gate. It need to be level with the base of the ramp and the ground at the gate. It also needed to slope slightly away from the house. Walter supplied a catalog to select the stone from and gave us an estimate. The work was completed in two days.

He said he would come out to look at the job while I was at work and provide an estimate. He called and left a message for me to call him back. I did and left a message. That was the last I heard from him

Walter Hernandez and his crew were extremely professional and accommodating, asking for feedback and quickly remedying any concerns we had. The crew cleaned up after each day of work and were very reliable in arriving at the promised date and time. Although he originally underestimated the amount of mulch needed he did not hesitate to bring more to achieve the desired results. It is clear that he values his reputation and goes the extra mile to please the customer. I will definitely be using his company from now on for all my landscaping needs.

Mr. Hernandez came out very quickly to give a quote, which was reasonable. He was very polite, and very professional. The crew worked hard and had the whole thing done in three days. I was very pleased with the result and would use them again.

Walter did a fabulous job building a patio under our deck. He coordinated his team quickly to get the job done in time for an important event at our house, and the patio turned out better than I expected! His price was lower than the other quotes I'd been given, and I was glad to have Nueva Vista do the job. I have been using Nueva Vista for nearly 10 years for lawn maintenance and landscaping, and they always exceed my expectations. They also installed an irrigation system for my yard several years ago. They are dependable and do professional work, very polite and respectful, and very responsive. I will continue to use Nueva Vista for as long as possible!

I would like to give Walter Hernandez and his crew an A+! Two other listings on Angie's list either didn't call back or repeatedly tried to reschedule. Walter was on time with our meeting about the estimate and then today to do the work. They did a through job, were reasonably priced, and professional. I will definitely ask them to come back.

They came by and gave me a quote, which was decent, but then never came out to do the work. We had agreed upon a specific week to do the job, but they never showed and have not responded to my emails since.

The project went very well; seamless. Six men arrived at 7:30 am and worked non-stop until 4:00 pm; there was a half hour break for lunch. After the sod was in place, a sprinkler system was set up, which was one less thing I had to worry about. The owner, Walter, was in attendance for 90% of the time. He received a call from a prospective client asking for an estimate. Most contractors would have just driven off, however, he came to me and asked permission to leave for a brief time. I recall he was off site for approximately one and one half an hours. It is always a pleasure to speak with Walter. He has two or three options to any problem I have had. He works with you and takes his time. You never feel rushed. I have employed this company for approximately five years and will continue to use them.

I contacted Walter to discuss an estimate for the work. He told me he would need to call me right back to discuss it. He did. He called back in about 5 minutes. We set a date for him to come over to look at the yard in front of my townhouse. Once there, I discussed the details of my project, and he provided an estimate for the work. I inquired about his follow up. Prior to leaving he told me he would be contacting me in a few days, by next week to set up an appointment. Our original meeting was on Wed/Thrs. I contacted Walter mid-morning on Tuesday to get the date on my calendar since I had not heard from him. He apologized for not having called yet, and immediately offered a slot for me later that day in the afternoon around 1:00pm if that time would work for me. It did. Walter showed up around 12:35 with 1 additional helper. When the work was done, he explained what had been done and provided some minor recommendations. The work was complete in approximately 1 hour and was satisfactorily. Overall I was pleased with the work, and the service recovery was excellent, but the price was a little high ( $185). The yard in front of my townhouse is small. The side bushes had minor trimming just enough to be out of the way of the garage door. The work was complete in about an hour.

Walter and his crew came at 7:40 AM, about 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. He had much more to do than I actually realized. They replaced the Lattice around the porch after placing 2x8 pressure treated wood all around the porch to prevent the dirt from flowing under the porch. His crew finished off about 8 feet of the retaining wall. They removed the top 2 layers of block from the retaining wall to glue them down. Then they dug a trench under a concrete walkway to bury a pipe to drain the water from a downspout. The pipe had a pop-up valve on the end to prevent dirt from getting into the pipe. He then had to fill 4 cubic yards of fill dirt behind the retaining wall on both sides of the house. On top of that, he placed 2 cubic yards of top soil, and then weed preventing fabric on top. He went and bought all of the plants at the nursery and placed then in various positions on the fabric. After my approval of their placement, he cut holes in the fabric to plant to plants. After finishing with the planting, they put about 2 cubic yards of very dark mulch on top of weed preventing fabric. They cleaned up their work area and left a very beautiful garden that enhanced the curb appeal of my house. Thank you Walter for a very fine and professional job. My wife and I are very happy with the looks of the garden. I will definitely recommend you to others and if I ever need your assistance in the future, I'll give you a call.

The guy promised a bid. He never got back in touch. I called him. The owner said he must have the wrong email. I waited another couple of days, still nothing. Called back a couple times. The owner dodged the calls. Very unprofessional.

They were prompt, quick/efficient....never any issues.

The ground around our deck had eroded to the point of needing to either repair the ground or put up a guard rail on the deck. I did not want a rail on my deck so I called a couple of places for an estimate to build up the area that had eroded. Due to some time constraints I needed the work done expeditiously. I called several places recommend on Angie's List, however; Nueva Vista was the only business willing to make time in their busy schedule to accommodate my rush need. Walter responded quickly to my phone request, came out the next day to give me an estimate, and performed the work the following day. His crew worked quickly, efficiently, and the area looks amazing. Walter kept checking with me along the way to ensure my needs were being met for the work that was being done. Outstanding work and professionalism by Walter and his crew. I plan I having more work done and I highly recommend Nueva Vista Landscaping.

Excellent work! This took two days and we were very happy with the whole experience. Walter came out and my wife explained what we had in mind for the area to be prepared for the playset and he gave some suggestions. It turned out perfectly. They cleaned up the area where the dirt was brought in on the driveway. We would definitely recommend Nueva Vista!

I found Nueva Vista on Angie's List like many other members, and we are 100% satisfied with all the work Walter and his crew of gentlemen performed. They showed up on time and the end result was exactly as the amount we discussed. Walter's crew went to work right away barely took any breaks and worked one hard day to fulfill all of our requirements. We had a bit of a sour interaction with another well known landscaper last year, and this much simpler job provided by Nueva Vista far exceeded our expectations. They were very patience with us as we changed our plant choices at least a few times a week prior to the day we had our work scheduled. Even when the work was being done, Walter and his crew had no problem giving us their opinions on where to place certain plants (this included moving some existing plants at their recommendation that were decided ad hoc). It was nice to see Walter strap on his gloves and get to work with his crew, something of a bit of an anomaly for many business owners around here. Walter also passed us his discount with Merrifield and as we all know they are pricey but have quality products from what we can tell anyway. We are also happy with the mulch that they provided (leaf mulch). We did a little bit of research and there are a lot of opinions that leaf mulch is better suited for plants, flowers, and drainage than the typical wood variants. We will have Nueva Vista back at the very least next spring.

I used this company last year to remove portions of a tree and landscaping, so I thought this year they would continue the great service. I was wrong, I have been contacting them weekly since the last week in March to cut my grass, trim my bushes, get weeds out of my flower beds, and remove the small amount of leaves in my back yard. On April 13th someone came and rushed my yard with a half way cut and I have called three times since asking when the everything else was getting done. I keep getting promises but nothing is getting done. I received a notice on my lawn from my HOA and this has been communicated to them. I just want my lawn done!! Although it seems this company is not capable of keeping promises or getting the job done!!

Called on two different days and left a voicemail pertaining to an estimate for landscaping. Never received a call back, it's been a week.
