Walter and his crew have been doing work at my residence (townhouse) for three years now. He is always on time, comes prepared with the supplies needed, does a very thorough job, too! Walter, and his employees, are all responsive, politice, and professionals. I would never call another landscaping service to my house. In the Spring, I'll have Walter back out to clean up again, to clean up and plant some new things, too. Walter is the only tradesman that I have to my house without worrying about pricing. We dont do estimates, just a phone call, conversation about the work, and I know I can trust him to be fair. One of the homes in my neighborhood has been empty for months and the yard has gone to rack and ruin. I had Walter clean up that yard, and another neighbors, too. I'm pretty sure he gave me a break on the price so he could help me be a good neighbor. I heartily recommend Walter and Nueva Vista. You cannot go wrong if you put your trust in Walter to do a good job. He knows what he's doing, and he and his crew do a fabulous job. (Can you tell I'm a fan?)

Always on time, does a thorough job, love the results. I come home at the end of the day and it looks like a park. The crew is very hardworking, neat, and never leaves a trace of dirt or trash behind them.

Walter was the gentleman we spoke to; he was very professional. The crew showed up on time and worked very hard to clean up the mess of a yard we had. We came home from work to find a job very well done! We were impressed. We had tons of ivy growing in our yard and up almost every tree. They removed all the ivy from the root and removed it from the trunks of the trees. They also removed a bunch of little shrubs and tons of leaves. It looks amazing. We plan on calling them for all of our future jobs, and possibly monthly yard service. I would highly recommend them!

Walter was very polite and professional, came out the same night i called to give an estimate and completed the job approximatley 2 weeks later, due to all the rain. Very smooth process, will be calling him in the spring to perform basic landscaping.

I contacted maybe 10 different companies in an effort to find someone who would come out mow my yard a few times while I was out of town. Several companies responded back that they would if I signed up for a long term contract. These companies said that moving a few times was not worth coming out to my house even to give an estimate. I contacted one company and the guy said he would mow and give me an estimate, but never gave me the estimate even after multiple attempts to contact again. Several companies did not return my calls or emails at all. So I was so relieved that Walter said he would give me an estimate. I was pleasantly surprised that the estimate he gave me was quite reasonable. Even though I was not there and he could have gotten away with a quick and dirty kind of job, Walter did a great job. I come home to find the yard looked great. He sent me a bill by mail and payment was easy.

The company repaired the screen door glass after it was accidentally broken when they were working in my yard, which I greatly appreciate the owner, Walter, for taking responsibillity and repairing the door. The yard look greats now that it's being professionally mowed and edged bi-monthly. They show up with approx 3 workers and get it done quickly and professionally.

It was quite a job. I was getting too old to clean the beds out; so they came with a big truck and they filled that truck to the brim. It took them all day. They actually went down to the original dirt and then started over with the sod. It was terrific and it was the backyard. It was a makeover for the yard. They did all the heavy work for me. They were hardworking people. There were four people who came out. It was a full truck of dirt that they took away from here. I don’t remember how much we paid, but it was well worth it. It wasn’t terribly outrageous. It was a big job and the price was under $1500. It was necessary for us at our age.

We had a rental house where the renter's had lived there 4 years without ever touching the yard. The backyard was a jungle of sapling trees and even poison ivy in the middle of the yard. Thick underbrush in every corner and under every tree. Vines up the trees and up the sides of the house. Walter responded promptly and advised us on how to keep weeds and undergrowth down while renters were there who might not keep the place up. In two days his crew had the yard completely cleaned out, plastic and mulch down in areas where undergrowth always springs back and the yard looks great. It didn't look this good when we bought the house. I will definitely use them again.

Nueva Vista has come every Tuesday, since the end of April, to mow and edge my lawn, and have always shown up. If it is raining they come the next day. My neighbor saw their work and now has hired them also. We did have a bit of a communication problem in the beginning (April) as my phone number was lost, but I contacted Walter and he apologized and everything has been excellent since then. I will continue to employ this company. They've been outstanding.

I called for a estimate. Mr Walter Hernandez arrived on time. He gave me ideas what to do and an estimate immediately for the body of work. Plants were left out of the because I wasn't sure what I wanted at the time. On the day of work, Walter and his team arrived exactly on time. I told him what I wanted for plantings. While Walter went to get my plants, his team got to work immediately and and by the end of 3 hours my backyard was transformed into a zen-like setting. I was given instructions on care of the plantings and new sod. He had set up the sprinkler system so it covered the yard perfectly with no water being wasted on the patio or in the neighbors' yard. Walter and his staff were professional, very hard working and very nice. I could not have been happier with their work. Thank you again, Mr Hernandez. The grass and plants are all doing very well. I love my new backyard!

Within a day or two a young man came out to estimate the job. Took notes and measurements, to include our email but never sent an estimate. We called him after a week and was never responded to. This company lost about a $5,000 sale.

We received an estimate that was reasonable and the work was done within two weeks from the initial service call. We are VERY satisfied with Nueva Vista. Walter and his team were professional, neat workers and most importantly on time and stuck to budget. I did not expect the crew to clear out the space and lay sod within 8 hours. I was at home when the work was being done and Walter made sure that I understood what was being done and that his team will ask if the work was satisfactory before departure. The crew was also very neat and cleaned up their materials (including rinsing off my driveway)! Walter called me later in the evening to remind us to water the sod to ensure our grass will properly grow. I was impressed with such great customer service.

Disappointed. It sucks cos I had a lot of work that needed to be done and I wasted time waiting for them to call back.

They do a wonderful and I don’t have to worry about my lawn.

The overall experience was extremely satisfying. They arrived shortly after 7:00 and were finished by 1:00. I expected the project to take them all day, but with their skills, the time was cut in half. Walter and his crew will be coming back on a monthly basis to keep my yard looking its best. I could not have asked for a better crew or a nicer job. Thank you!

When I told Walter, he did apologize and deduct a little over 30% from the bill. He also said that if the Korean boxwoods, currently looking like bowling balls don't recover he would replace. Lesson I learned is always be home when someone comes to do yardwork.

Having allowed my yard (~1/4 acre lot with lots of trees & shrubs) to turn wild over 2 or 3 years, and being frightened to venture into that jungle, I called Nueva Vista. Walter came out to look at my property while I was at work. He called me back to discuss what I wanted done then gave an estimate. He & his crew of about 4-5 came out for 2 days of hard work to clear wild vines, shrubs & weeds, fallen tree branches, leaves, mulched my numerous flower beds, trimmed, mowed and even cleaned my gutters. They pulled out several truckloads of overgrowth and made my yard look like a beautiful park. I have them mowing my lawn weekly and will have them do some planting this fall. Walter has an easy going, laid back manner which makes conducting business very easy to do. If all I did was find this one company using Angie's List, it was well worth joining.

After a careful study of Angie's List review comments, I chose Nueva Vista Landscaping to do some much-needed yard and home work. Walter Hernandez, the owner, personally came out to the house to provide an estimate, which proved very reasonable for the work to be performed. Arriving on-time on the promised day of work, Walter and his crew diligently and skillfully proceeded to transform my large front yard to a beautiful result. Very simply, Nueva Vista Landscaping treated me and my yard with the attention and care that I would have exercised if I was doing the work myself. Everything was done right, with no shortcuts taken. Walter personally worked on the job, while providing careful supervision. Walter's father works as part of the team! To my pleased satisfaction, Walter and his crew not only fully weeded my flower beds, but also loosened all the soil on top, hand digging edging all around, and removing extra soil to make room for mulch that was added. The removed soil was carefully placed around some trees in another bedding area. Nueva Vista removed ALL leaves - including in hard-to-reach places under thick bushes. They beautifully shaped the boxwoods at the front of the house, including cutting behind them to provide space between them and the front of the house. Every scrap of wood and other debris was removed from the property, which was neatly cleaned up after work was completed. Within one day of hard work, Nueva Vista transformed my yard to a beautiful landscape. Each day, I look at it with pride and satisfaction for money very well invested. I'm very much looking forward to having Walter and crew return for work on my back and side yards. I now know I can trust in them to get the job done right!

I contacted Nueva Vista from Angie's List when I moved to Northern VA area and I have been impressed/happy by the work done by Nueva Vista. Walter, the owner of the Nueva Vista, almost always answers his phone and if he doesn't, he always call back within the day of my phone call. Walter recently did some landscaping work (mulching, trimming) and removed three trees on my front yard. They did an exceptional job and my front yard looks great. I am continue to use Nueva Vista for bi-weekly lawn care. If you are looking for a landscaping company, Walter is the man for you!!

Walter came to our house and gave me a quote to do lawn mowing and several different things; dig up two small trees and transplant them in the front yard, trim a large hedge on the side of the house, bundle and move two small piles of branches to the front yard for our recyler to remove, and remove an old juniper bush. At that time, Walter asked me if they could just throw the wood trash over the fence, into the park that our back yard abutts. I told him no, that was illegal, that he had to put it on the curb in front for pick-up. The crew did put the sticks in the front the first time they mowed - but i had to show them how to bundle it - they seemed unfamiliar with yard waste recycling practices. Walter said the rest would be done on July 6th - 2 weeks later. When that day came, the crew showed up, mowed the lawn and started to leave. When I questioned the head guy, he was unaware of any other work needing to be done. I called Walter, who said he could come tomorrow with a different crew. No apology, no explanation, nothing. I told him that I needed a company that I could count on, and that I had already waited 3 weeks, and not to come anymore. A few minutes after hanging up, he called me back, and said well, its 80% chance of rain today, isnt it? So he was "right" in not having them do it today. I said that made no sense, that it wasnt raining here, and that he should have at least called me to let me know they werent coming. He got rude and said that he didnt want to do business with me, anyway. The lack of professionalism - from wanting to throw yard debris illegally over our fence onto someone elses property, to not scheduling the quoted work, to being rude to me on the phone - is completely inconsistent with the reviews I read earlier on Angies list about Nueva Vista Landscaping. I will NOT be calling them again.

The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was supposed to come and give an estimate. We discussed a date and time when he would come. I came home early from work and he never showed up. I was quite peeved.

They were good and on time. They were punctual. The job turned out to be great.

I called 4 different companies for estimates. Only 2 showed up. This company gave the most reasonable rate to we decided to try them once. They did a great job and Walter the man I first spoke to came by to check on the job and ask if we were satisfied with the work. The cutting was great and we decided to continue the weekly service.
