I called to schedule a mositre/pest inspection for a real estate transaction. The sales department called me back quickly, but when I told them I needed an inspection within the next ten days for a real estate transaction (my contract was just ratified that day and this is a standard period of time), I have to say I felt somewhat chastised for asking for an inspection with the next few days and the woman was very impatient with me. She did eventually agree to schedule someone to come out, but after I got off the phone with her, the whole conversation with her made me not trust them nor do business with them. I was calling to give them business and she acted like she was doing ME a favor by working me in (I hardly think that my request was an unusual one). I called back and canceled and called another company who treated me in a more professional and courtesy manner.

He does an excellent job. He has done some outstanding jobs. We had ant problem when we moved here five years ago. I couldn’t even put things on the counter without ants coming up to it. I’m completely ant free and rodent free and whatever we name it. I have recommended them to my mother in law. She could not get rid of ants and now she has no ants. I’m really impressed with him. He comes on dot. I make an appointment and he is there within a few minutes of the appointment. He checks everything in and out. He puts stuff around our house and outside our house. He is really good. Terrence is actually one of their workers. I actually wrote a letter to them. I never write a write letters. I wrote a letter to his boss about one and half years ago telling him that it was fantastic; we had signed up for a termite contract and we had found a all around one, rodents, pests, and everything. I would use them in the future.

We have used National Exterminating for about 5 years. They always show up on time and their prices are fair. We have an annual contract with them and I am comfortable with them. I will continue to use National Exterminating.

We have been very pleased with their service and responsiveness. When they come in, they spray the whole house. They will do the outside if needed but usually it is just the interior that we have them do. We also contract with them in the summer months to spray the yard for flees and tics, which was very effective last year. They have offered seasonal contract for that and we have been very pleased with the results. They will come out anytime we ask them to. We have an invasion of something or another. When we moved to the house, we had a really bad spider problem, so if I see a spider I will call them and they come right out and spray the whole house for me. They are always very quick to respond. I will continue to use this provider again in the future.

We have used them for a long time. They usually come in the spring.

They always spray the exterior of the house and will spray the interior if I request it. I also have an annual termite program with them as well. The previous owners had that service so I continued it in order to maintain the guarantee. They are good; if I need them to come back out they will. Their pricing is on par with what I have paid before. They are very responsive and the treatments seem to be working. They are always notify me in advance when they are coming and give me the opportunity to let them know I want the inside treated; they are always here when they say they will be. I will use them again in the future.

They gave us a bug spray such as ant, fleas, spiders, stink bugs, and termite for us once a year. For my initial termite treatment, I spent $400 and they had every quarter, I pay $75 and that is for pest control and then the annual termite spray is $94.

We looked them up in the phone book. They are excellent. They are very good. We have a regular service man who comes in once a month. They do a very good job for us. I would use them again in the future.

I've used them for years. I had termites 15-20 years ago. They come out and inspect once a year, crawl up under the house, and found a leak I didn't know about. The guy is polite, do a good job, and are prompt. The price is only an inspection, not the price for spraying if they find termites. I give them high ratings and will continue to use them in the future.

They are very reliable. They are clean. They do the job.

I have known him since he was in the eight grade. They have been in business for a long time. Randy is resourceful and a good guy. He is honest and I have known his family for so many years. He pulled himself by his own boot-straps kind of a guy. He just got out of school and stated this company when he was pretty young and doing really well. I would continue to use his services again in the future.

NATIONAL EXT. handled the repair of discovered damage beneath the (circa 1943) house we had contracted to buy in April of 2002 during the inspection for the closing. When the sale closed the house was protected by NATIONAL EXT for one year as part of the repair/treatment process. W e assumed the Wood Destroying Organism Control Agreement with NATIONAL EXTERMINATING COMPANY INC. in April of 2003; renewing every year to date (2011.) We believed this would ensure no further trouble beneath the home we bought. We expected to be alerted of any problem, advised what was needed to address it and that any required services needed would be done. Their agreement (signed after the initial work and continued each year) states: " Upon satisfactory completion of treatment specified, a (1) year guarantee shall be issued to the property owner. After the initial term of the guarantee, NATIONAL EXT. shall make a complete re-inspection of the property and render any additional service deemed necessary to maintain maximum control of the infestation indicated above." The system seemed to work, a renewal letter and a notice of inspection arrived annually with a request that we keep our dog inside on the inspection day. An inspector would come out, go beneath and around our house and a copy of the inspection report would be given to us or left for our records. We never saw an inspection report that specified corrective work or action required. Once, the inspection sheet reported 'small puddles.' One time it said 'dampness.' A couple of times the report said 'discoloration.' Several times the report said 'no activity.' At no time did a report ask us to contact NATIONAL EXT. for instructions, or say that action of any kind was needed. We received no phone calls, no letters, no additional reports or recommendations of proactive action or repair from the company. We did not find any of the reports alarming as there was discoloration underneath when we bought the property, blowing rain can get under the house occasionally leaving small puddles and even with all the vents open, it can be damp underneath if it has been rainy for an extended period though sunshine and breezes soon correct that. The 'no activity' reports were reassuring - and we were confident we'd be advised of action needed if the situation changed so that we could take action. And we did take action when recommended: about 2005 one of the inspectors spoke to us and mentioned that the grass was too close to the garage and the dirt level was too high - creating a termite risk. We fixed those problems immediately and would have responded similarly to any other proactive advice. We recently decided to refinance. An inspector from NATIONAL EXT. came out and checked our property. He was under the house quite some time. Afterward he spoke with my husband. The inspector said we had a lot of damage from fungus and a lot of old Powder Post Beetle damage with a 'ballpark' estimate of $3,400 for repairs including treatments, beam and joist replacement or 'sistering' and pier installation. We were astonished! His paperwork did not show we were long-standing customers and he referred to our property as having been 'picked up' in February, 2011. That was confusing. When my husband corrected him to say we were long-term customers he checked with his office by phone, and upon confirmation expressed dismay and said the serious damage under our house should not have happened on their watch, and the company would most probably have to be responsible for paying for the majority of repairs. When questioned about the Powder Post Beetle damage (we had never been alerted to a PPB problem before) he said the damage was old, possibly older than our ownership of the house. (Since NATIONAL EXT was supposed to correct all pre-sale damage in April of 2002 and has maintained our property since we bought it, how could this damage be unaddressed and missed every year? The contract has a box that can be checked for PPB bond. It had never been recommended that we needed this service.) The General Manager, Mr Ralph Morse, disagreed with the statement made by his inspector. NATIONAL EXT. called us with an estimate for the work. They were willing to pay $600 and would require us to be responsible for the rest (then quoted at an additional $1,800,) to cover fungal/moisture damage repair (no mention was made of the PPB damage in this estimate - which we thought very odd.) When my husband went to the office to speak with Mr Morse to tell him that the figures were (at the very least) reversed, because the damage would not have happened if NATIONAL EXT had done its job properly, my husband was told that moisture had caused the problem - and NATIONAL EXT. does not cover moisture problems; moisture control is the customer's responsibility. When my husband asked how we could have known there was a moisture problem without being informed by the inspectors he was told: "You received an inspection report that had the word "discoloration" on it, right? That's how you know!" My husband protested that the report did not say action was required or recommended, and persisted in his claim that NATIONAL EXT assume the bulk of the repair costs. He was told he should have called upon receipt of the report with the word 'discoloration' on it to ask how the discoloration should be handled. The situation devolved; my husband was screamed at and then thrown out of the office (with the door slammed and locked behind him.) We hired another extermination company (that came well recommended) to do an independent inspection. They found considerable old and new damage (old PPB and active fungus) with an estimate of about $4,000 for repairs and corrective work. They told us the plastic vapor barrier installed by NATIONAL EXT in 2002 had been poorly laid with debris left beneath the plastic which had caused tearing and vapor leakage over time, and further, that some of the previous repair work (by NATIONAL EXT. in 2002 at closing) was inadequate. We feel betrayed by NATIONAL EXT. and can no longer trust them. Their Fungus Control Bond says the following: "If during the life of this certificate an inspection of the treated property should show signs of active fungus NATIONAL EXT. will furnish without cost to the holder of this BOND the chemicals and labor necessary to control the fungus." We feel they did not follow through on this in the past or in the present. Instead they are saying we have not fulfilled our end of the contract: The Fungus Bond also says: " The owner agrees to fully cooperate with the company during the lifetime of this agreement, and to maintain the treated area free and clear from any factor or condition contributing to fungus such as (but not limited to) moisture from drains, faulty plumbing and inadequate ventilation. Any violation of this covenant shall relieve the company from any obligation under it's warranty." At no time were we told of anything we could do to 'cooperate with the company' to help protect the vulnerable crawl-space from fungal growth contributing moisture issues. We feel the underlined sentence above combined with the lack of proactive reporting recommending action required is a 'Catch 22' leaving the customer vulnerable yet without recourse. Nearly ten years has passed with us paying for annual coverage and feeling we were protected while wood destroying organisms were eroding the wood beneath our home. For the damage to be as severe as it is at this time, multiple inspections missed signs of active fungal activity as well as PPB damage and a compromised vapor barrier. We have hired the new company to fix the current problem(s) and will retain them as our home protection company in the future. We could have agreed to pay $1,800 to NATIONAL EXT. (accepting their offer of paying $600 toward treatment and repairs,) but we do not have any faith that the work would be properly done nor properly maintained, and we do not want to have a further relationship with a company whose General Manager is as unprofessional as Mr Morse. Under no circumstances would we recommend NATIONAL EXTERMINATING COMPANY, INC to a homeowner seeking guaranteed proactive pest control protection for their home.

NATIONAL EXTERMINATING CO INC They are pretty good. I have been using the for 10 years. They do a thorough job inspecting, the price is okay. They show up, they crawl under the house, very through. They even told me one time that I had a leak under my house. They don't try to do something that you don't need. I think they are good.

They were just very thorough. They were recommended to me by some neighbors who used them. I haven’t had enough experience with them. So far they have been fine. Their price was very reasonable. They are very punctual.

We have a one-year plan with them and they come every two months. They are pretty good. They come when we need them and they don't charge extra. We just pay the one-year fee and that is it.

We have used them in two different houses so we’ve had their service for about 15 years. They do their quarterly service on time and at your convenience, they are punctual so they come when they say they are going to, and they come back and correct the problem if you see anything. I don’t have any pests. They are punctual, they are efficient, and I don’t have any complaints about their service. I think their price is very competitive.

We have been using them for about 20 years now. They come out every year and check. They come right about now, but they haven't come so far. We have to set up an appointment with them. I don't know how much we spend on their services because my wife handles that. When we first moved into the house, we got them to do all the actual injection of the chemicals. For the last 20 years they have always come in every year and done a recheck. We have been very satisfied with them. For the last 20 years they just come and they give us a report and that's it. It's pretty straightforward.

Called the company to schedule a estimate and they promptly came out within a week as scheduled. The representative was extremely curtious and explained the treatments in details and went over what would be best for us. They even let us go on a payment plan so that we did not have to pay all the money upfront.

My house is 5 1/2 years old and it had been pretreated when it was built. The bonding only lasts for 5 years. Their bid was a little bit under the average. The price got my attention. I had contacted a couple of other people. My sister-in-law had recommended them because she had used them twice. They met me when they said. I have recommended them to some of my neighbors. I also used them for moisture proofing my house and paid them $2,500 for that.

They are a fabulous outfit. I would recommned them to others.

I have been using them for years and they are great. We have been pleased with them and their work each time. The company we used long ago was purchased by National, but they did not disappoint. They are very good about notifying when they come for service. If I ever have problems, they will come out immediately to resolve them. We will continue to use and recommend them.

The owner’s son came out to do the work and he was very amiable and professional. He came and did the work shortly after I had called. He did a good job and I was pleased with his service.

The technicians completed the treatment outside, in the crawlspace, and garage in just a couple hours. The trench they dug was much smaller than I anticipated and did not disturb my plantings, other than needing to move my blackberry plants which I did prior to their arrival having been instructed by the inspector. That was a necessity due to the chemicals and not the physical work. Everything was cleaned up before I knew it. The guys were cheerful and happy to answer all my questions.

I had a swarming of termites in my living room and I looked up pest control companies on angies list. I called a highly rated one and they came over that day. The owner's son, Travis, was very nice and professional. He did an inspection and measurement around the house and came up with an estiamte of just over 600.00 dollars for a treatment. I am not sure if that is a good price, however, I talked to my realtor and he said that it was a great deal for my size of house and that he uses National as well. The treatment took place two weeks later--kind of crazy since I was battling termites every day and ended up with one more swarming. The man who came out to do the treatment was very nice and spent a couple of hours treating my home. Now, I just pay about 100.00 a year for a contract. I was very impressed about how nice everyone was.
