Description of Work: B given as I won't know for several month if plumbing repair has issues. Mr.Rooter repair person showed up on time and performed service as required. That said, I had to call to find out when they were coming as I did not get notice from Angie's List or Mr. Rooter.

Description of Work: Dug up main sewer line. Re-piped section of sewar line that was seperated and clogged with tree roots.

Description of Work: They were called to fix garbage disposal that had part of a plate stuck in the disposal. After working in the disposal the plumber told me I needed a new disposal. It was relatively new so I was a little surprised. Seemed the total cost was quite expensive when a new disposal can be purchased for under $100.00

Description of Work: Called Mr. Rooter to unplug a drainage line. This is the third time I have used their services, and have met three different employees, all three of whom were very knowledgeable, proficient, timely and helpful. I don't need anyone else for plumbing anymore.

Description of Work: Unfortunately, I am not happy with this company. I called them out to inspect my bathroom shower, which has very weak hot water pressure. The repairman was okay, he took a look at the shower,but didn't perfom any work or give me any idea of what the problem was. Basically, he took some pictures and told me he would call me with an estimate. Then he asked for $135. I was a bit surprised, as their Angie's List profile said they provided free estimates, and I assumed that what this was (they also mentioned providing a discount to Angie's List members, but I assumed that would come later). Paul explained that it would be taken off the final bill, and I reluctantly wrote a check. He called me back a week or so later and left a voice mail saying that he wanted to talk with me about some "options." When I returned his call, he wasn't in the office. I left a message, but I've yet to hear back. That was nearly 3 months ago. Of course, the company that can't return my call was quick to cash my check, which was withdrawn from my account before the month was out. I joined Angie's List because I don't have time to chase contractors around,so I need people who are through and who seem to want my business. Now my bathroom shower still does not work, I have no idea what the problem is or how much it will cost to fix, and I'm out $135. I'm writing this review in the hopes Mr. Rooter will contact me and make things right.

Description of Work: Originally contacted this company due to a leak in the incoming water line to our house. The leak was causing water to pool in our yard. They were responsive and timely in sending someone out to evaluate the problem, however scheduling repairs seemed to be an issue due to forecasts of inclement weather. Once work was scheduled, they arrived fairly late in the morning to begin work. Instead of having the underground utility lines marked the day before, they had to wait additional time for two people to mark the ground before they could start work. They dug two large holes near the foundation of our house. They trampled a small bush in the garden and otherwise had little regard for the planted beds. They dug the ground out around the water meter box. Once work began, they used a ditch witch and tore up large portions of our yard - getting stuck in the mud and unable to gain enough traction to dig the trench needed to replace the line. Since it was late in the day, they gave up and determined it would require a specialized boring machine to finish the job. This would cost an additional $500 above the original quote and scheduling of the machine would require additional time and a different crew. Inclement weather was again expected. They roughly filled in the hole around the water meter and partially filled in one hole near the house with straw to prevent the line from freezing. Throughout this ordeal, we has use of water, but we were turning off the water supply at the meter when we were not using it. Due to the leak and the freezing weather, the water in our yard was creating an ice rink across our yard, driveway and part of the street. We were doing everything we could to keep the water waste and ice to a minimum. Now that the workers had torn up the ground, the water and ice pooled around the meter box, causing a frozen lake to trudge through/and reach through to turn the water on/off and the water had to be pumped out of the meter box before we could access the on/off valve. When the boring machine was scheduled and the crew came to connect the new line, the work was completed late in the afternoon/early evening on Friday, January 31st. At that point, they said it would be too late to get an inspector out, but the line was usable, so we would have water over the weekend and they would have the inspector come on Monday. A large hole remained around our meter box, covered with plywood, with bales of hay to keep it down. This remained for over a week with no contact from the company. One day, the hay and plywood disappeared, along with one of our extension cords we had been using to operate the water pump. The hole was filled in. We can only assume it was successfully inspected. Throughout this ENTIRE process we never received one phone call from this company. We initiated EVERY conversation. We had to call to ask for updates along the way and request each step of the work to be scheduled. Even when we were told we would be contacted by "someone at the office" we did not receive any communication. The contract said they would return in 30 days to fill in areas where they dug due to settling... not only did this not occur for "settling", they never filled in the initial holes they dug near the foundation of our house. We left a message to ask for the extension cord to be returned. We have had no response.

Description of Work: Major clog in kitchen sink/laundry drain line. Came on Sunday after major company and got it moving -- had to return next day with longer equipment to ensure clean line. Prompt/clean/timely and very personable technician

Description of Work: When I was unable to get in touch with Mr. Rooter by phone, I sent an email. My email was responded too within 30 minutes. Lois arranged to have a technician come to my home the same day. I recd a call when the technician was on his way. The technician diagnosed our problem quickly, and because of the age of our toilets he recommended that they be replaced. Technician was professional and courteous. Prior to leaving, he had set up the appointment. On the day of the appointment, the dispatcher called to say the tech was running ahead of schedule and wanted to know if it was ok to come over early. When he arrived, he installed the two new toilets and hauled away the old ones. Everything went very smoothly, and I was very pleased with the experience.
