Miguel was responsive and timely for both the estimate and the work. He and a helper arrived when he said they would, worked diligently and professionally and finsihed when he said they would. Miguel's construction suggestions were helpful and the quality of the work was excellent. We are very pleased with the result. The work area was left very clean. What more could one ask from a contractor? He obviously takes a good deal of pride in his work. Miguel plans to return in mid May to stain the wood which will allow enough time for the treated lumber used in the construction to "season".

Wonderful! We will definitely ask Miguel to handle our future repairs and projects. He's pretty busy, so it took a little bit to get on the job, but we were fine with that. If you plan to use him, just be aware that he has a lot of work, and you may need to wait a little ? but it?s well worth it! Miguel came out and walked around the house, then walked with me to go over areas that I knew needed to be fixed. He also pointed out some areas I had missed, and gave me options on how to fix those problems as well. We knew that when the bad siding was pulled off that we could expect more damage, so what little problems came up were no surprise. Miguel showed us what he and his crew were doing every step of the way. He pointed out what needed to be fixed, what did not need to be fixed, and was really helpful. I?ll have him come back to paint the house and possibly build a small shed for us. We are extremely pleased with him personally, with his team, how they were always very professional and helpful. The price, even with the extra work that needed to be done, was very fair. We?re just amazed at how he and his crew made such a difference in our house. While he was here, we had him redo the front porch as well, and we love it! It went from an entrance we were a bit embarrased to have, to one we are really proud to come home to everyday! We have had the pleasure of Miguel and his staff's service before so we naturally reached for them when we had another job involving carpentry and painting. We had asked if we could get an enclosure for our large propane tank that would blend in with the existing exterior of our house. Miguel and his men built the enclosure to blend exactly with an adjoining attached tool house. The lines of the siding, trim and color matched perfectly and an access gate was also included. We have been impressed with Miguel due to the quality and professionalism of his work and once again we were rewarded by such.

It could not have gone better! Mr. Torres and his entire crew were professional, on time and the workmanship was excellent. Mr. Torres and his crew perform all work as if it were being done for themselves. They are perfectionist! We plan to use Mr. Torres for future projects.

Very good. Miguel and his crew of painters applied two coats of paint to the ceiling where we were experiencing some stain and dirt marks.

Great. First time doing the non-wood deck. Small glitches but overall GREAT. Wood deck EXCELLENT. Painting siding EXCELLENT. Painting trim really good with one or two small trim to deck exceptions not noticed on first inspection that ruined an EXCELLENT. Easy to communicate with Miguel.

This is the third time I've used Miguel for siding repair on my house. This time, as on the other times, his work was professional and high quality. His price has always been very fair. I see other comments on his services that say he does not return phone calls, etc. While I found that to be true the first time I tried to use him, I'm glad I persisted. Because of Miguel's good prices and high quality work I think he has more opportunities for work than he can handle. Now that I am a repeat customer, he is very good about returning my calls and keeping me posted about when he can do the work. I would say that if you are in a hurry to get the work done and are not patient in waiting until he can schedule you, you may be better off with someone else. But I'm glad I could wait to hire Miguel.

Miguel was very patient and was able to clearly outline his approach to fixing my problems. He provided us with a written estimate of the cost of the job in advance (via e-mail) and confirmed the date of the work with us. He called the day before the work was to begin to confirm his arrival time and did arrive on schedule. Miguel and his assistant were polite and very professional. As I noted in the earlier section, Miguel was very helpful in providing me with information as to the cause of my window leaking problems - so I actually got the work done and a bit of education in the process! Overall, Miguel and his assistant were here at the house for a little over 6 hours. A great job! My wife and I will certainly use Miguel in the future and would have no difficulty in recommending him to friends and family members.

Mr. Torres Had done the first part of my front porch in 2011 when he change an old rattan wood decking and crated a beautiful brick porch with a planter; in 2012 he came back for a second stage where the cement steps were change to brick. the whole front yard looks like has been there always, excellent job. The only think I would have change is that originally they use sand to set front porch bricks and I have weeds constantly coming trough the seems. the steps were done with cement in between and I have had no problems so far. He has been very professional, I will definitely call him in the future as I plan to get my back yard improved this Spring.

Project was a 10/10. Mr Torres is real professional. Very pleased with his work and heartily recommend him.

Miguel was friendly on the phone and I set up an estimate, but then he backed out after learning how old the house was. He said he didn't have the lead certification to work on the house. I don't blame him for that; I just wish that would have come up first.

Mr. Torres was very good in maintaining communication with my wife and myself from before work commenced, until it was completed. He and his crew were punctual, attentive and very professional throughout their time working at our house. One thing that impressed me was how every day, after hours at the house, they would diligently clean up all the residue from their work day. They did a great job with siding and wood repairs to the exterior of our house. This involved additional siding and wood repairs that were needed as the work progressed. Their abilities really came to light when they discovered a seal around a front window of our house had not been sealed properly in the construction of our house, which had led to extensive deterioration of the under layers of the siding on our house, to include the wicking of water into the foundation board of our house at the front porch. They replaced all damaged material and kept me informed every step of the way about what they were doing. The repair to the foundation board was pretty involved as it required work in the crawl space of our house and removal of some of the front porch area. They saved us a considerable expense by finding this damage before it became even more extensive. Miguel was also considerate in fixing and painting a bathroom in our house that had continual mildew problems on the ceiling. He did not charge us for doing it, which is typical of his good nature. He and his crew were the best painters and carpenters we've ever had work at our house. Miguel was very responsive to anything I noticed that might need some minor touch up and took care of it right away. I would wholeheartedly recommend he and his crew to anyone reading this review.

I called twice and left voice mails concerning service needed. I never received a return call. I hired someone else through Angie's List to do the work.

Miguel met with me in June to view siding boards I wanted replaced and gave a competitive price a few days later. He estimated the siding replacement and painting would take 2 days. He warned me that he was quite busy and could not undertake the work until August. I said that was fine and advised him, after receiving several other quotes, that I planned to use him. I called Miguel again in late July and he gave me a tentative start date in August. A few days before the planned start date he called and said due to rainy weather and other jobs he was finishing he would start two days later than planned. I really appreciated that he called several days before. Miguel and his team arrived about 8 am and he stayed for a few hours to make sure all was proceeding according to plan. I was concerned that his workers might not speak good English but he introduced one of his workers who communicated well with me. As anyone who has had siding replacement done on their house, once the contractor is on site and some boards are removed, more boards are discovered which need replacing. I was present when all work was done and advised which additional boards should be replaced and which should be left as is. Even so, we found the number of 16 ft boards needed to complete the job increased from 30 to 40. Miguel and I negotiated a fair price for the increase in work scope. Even though the work scope increased by 33%, Miguel and his guys still completed the work within two (rather long) work days. Clean-up after the work was done was well done. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work and the price received and have recommended Miguel Torres Contracting to neighbors.

After reading exceptional reviews on Angie's List, I called Miguel Torres Contracting in June (6/8 & 6/14) to get an estimate on wrapping house trim with vinyl and replacing a patio door. Mr. Torres never returned my calls. After reading such glowing reports, I was disappointed at such a lack of professionalism and common courtesy to return the calls.

Having replaced my beaded board with hardie plank about 3 years ago, I had been holding off on painting the windows that were not painted at that time. Finally had to do it because of the wood that was showing. Got 2 prices for the work, and chose to work with Miguel Torres Contracting due to his price, responsiveness to my questions and understanding of my needs. His coupon for Angie's List members didn't hurt either. He came out and looked at the job, asked questions about areas that I had not mentioned so he could make sure about the scope of work, and told me he would work up an estimate and send it to me in e-mail. About 4 or 5 days later I received the e-mail. It was competitive with the other bidder, but better. The other bidder had done interior paint work for me in the past, but I wasn't committed to using him again. About 2 weeks later the work began. It was not a big job, so he was finished in about 3 days. Along the way he identifed an area of rotten wood, quoted the repair, and we had him fix that at the same time. The results were very good.

Miguel came out as scheduled and gave us an estimate - it was the most competitive estimate we received. Miguel and his crew were able to start the work earlier than expected and completed everything on time. They all worked consistantly, for long hours and cleaned up the work site every day before they left. The finished product is a beautiful, very well constructed deck that has added value and enjoyment to our home. Throughout the process Miguel was very responsive to questions and consulted us about decisions along the way. Very happy with the whole experience and would reccommend Miguel's work withabsolute confidence.

While our house was built in 1995, it suffered from 'previous owner neglect' and has required more attention than we anticipated when we bought it a little over a year ago. Miguel Torres and his crew had been out over the summer to replace 9 of our windows that were in the worst shape (though I never posted a review), so this was his second visit to our house. We hired him this time to complete the job (the remaining 25 windows) - and then some! My husband and I are quite familiar with home remodeling and repairs (in our previous home we used Angie's list to remodel an entire kitchen from the studs up, built a sunroom and completely remodeled 3 bathrooms - including reconfiguring one of them). As you can imagine, we've seen the full range of quality craftsmen. Miguel ranks at the very top of the list in terms of professionalism, efficiency, promptness and full communication! Every step of the way, he updated us about additional repairs needed as he uncovered 'band-aid fixes' that the previous owner used to cover up bigger problems and explained our options. He and his crew are as neat and respectful as they come and are so pleasant and easy to work with. We never felt like they or we were "in the way". In order to get the job done, they even came and spent a full Saturday working because of pending rain in the forecast. The quality of their work is top-notch! We will be calling him again shortly to demolish and rebuild a small deck and make additional repairs. I would absolutely recommend Miguel and his crew to anyone using Angie's List as well as my neighbors! Job well done, an A+!

Miguel Torres and his team did a great job on our basement renovation project. They were professional, on time, came when they said they would, cared about the quality of their work and cleaned up every day. They actually finished BEFORE expected. We are very happy with their work and will definitely be hiring them again to do work on our home.

Very pleased overall with professionalism and price. Was at times difficult to get a hold of and it seems the weather was not cooperating earlier the weeks prior so he was a little late getting to me.

They started on the day they had estimated they would start two months earlier. They worked all day, every day for five days from 8:30 to 5:30 or 6:00 taking an hour for lunch. There was a problem with how the railings would align with the previous support posts but Mr. Torres came up with a solution and all railings align very well. I was out of town the final day and a half of their work but when I returned I noted how well they cleaned up everything right down to the sawdust.

They were prompt and got to the point quickly. Theirs was the cheapest price I received with the vinyl siding quotes. Their estimated price was $16,700. I would consider using them in the future.
