Homelink

Bill was responsive throughout the process of the painting. Once the job was complete Bill and the painting manager came by to do any final touch ups while I was home to ensure I was satisfied with the work. I pointed a couple of spots out and they touched those up right away. Home Link was the most fair priced as we got 2-3 other quotes from other contractors. The contractors always cleaned up and were done on time.

The young man did not come when I was told he would come. Nobody came in his place. It took several months to complete blowing the leaves in the front and side yard. The leaves never made it to the compost pile. They were blown into a large mound that runs down the side of my yard. This mound is into my neighbor's hedge. I called several times and left messaged for them to call but they never returned my call. I finally called the office and spoke the secretary. She was very nice and said she would contact the owner. I spoke to the owner of the company. He said they told him the job was completed as per my request. I advised him this was not the case and requested he come and see the results. He said the job was finished. I paid the bill and am glad to be rid of them.

They have excellent customer service. They stick to their schedules and are prompt with scheduling you in and have competitive pricing.

Our house is about 10 years old and the wooden fence that surrounds our back yard (we live on a half acre lot) was looking worn and weathered. Also the latches for our 2 pedestrian and 1 vehicle gates were not working well anymore. So we wanted the fence and gates to be repaired and look good enough to last another 10 years. Homelink answered several initial questions we had about the project. But it was a little difficult to a) get a project start date and b) get the payment terms spelled out on the project estimate. We finally got those items squared away and the project got started. We were asked to move all the furniture off our back deck and to leave the stain color we wanted on our back deck on the morning that the power washing would begin. We did that. The power washing started on the day it was scheduled to. Then the fence and gates got repaired. The gates work really well now. Then the fence painting started. This took several days as there is a lot of fence to be painted. We also had included in the estimate to have the one side of our fence that faces a neighbor to be painted as well so this would look nice for the neighbor. The work progressed steadily. On the last day of the project, the deck was stained. My husband and I walked around the fence to inspect the work and thought it looked great and exactly what we had asked for. We are pleased with the work Homelink did for us on this project.

I made an appointment with Homelink and they never showed up or called.I called them and they didnt have my information on the appointment I made.The contact was Rob Mcaully which they recognized as a senior sales associate.The woman I talked to apologized and said Rob would call me,I waited 4 days and never heard from him. Not professional !

They are very good, nice, clean, and efficient. They are also very easy to work with. However, they are very slow. It has taken a long time to complete the job. They just don't seem anxious. I leave message after message and it takes a while to get a response. It is just a hassle to get them here and finish the work. They should be a little more thorough when contacting their customers.

After finding Homelink on Angie's List, I called and left a brief message about my project. Bill (the owner) called me back within a few hours and was out to my house the next day. He had lot's of helpful suggestions and I received a bid from him within a few days. He was willing to work with me on the bid, as I already had a plumber and had purchased most of the fixtures. Having gone through several renovations, I decided I wanted to act as my own contractor and Bill was very receptive to bidding out the jobs separately. First we started with the demo and the re-tile. All three bids I received were very competitive but Bill and his group seemed trustworthy and honest, so I went with them. I never worried about them being in my house alone or having them lock up if I needed to go somewhere. They always cleaned up after each day and had tarps down wherever they had to walk. Mike, the person who did most of the work on the demo and re-tile, was great to work with. He's very good at his job and a pleasure to be around. He offered good suggestions on tile placement and even put tiles out so I could envision how it would look on the wall, in the shower or around the tub. The job was finished on time and within budget. I decided to use Bill's group for cabinet installation, granite counter tops and glass shower doors. He was very quick in sending his sub contractors out for these items to look at the job and measure, etc. and had the bid to me generally within the day of the visit. I got other bids on these items, and again found that all were very competitive and within 15% of each other. When reasonable, Bill was willing to negotiate with me and he was offering a discount to Angie's List members, so I decided to go with him for these jobs as well. My three bathrooms turned out beautifully! Everyone who comes in them comments on how nice the tile work is and how beautiful they turned out. Bill was always very responsive to my calls and was very helpful even when it was a problem with another service provider. I would not hesitate to recommend Homelink and I will gladly use them again for all my other home projects.

We just joined Angie's List for a month so am just getting around to leaving some feedback for Bill and his team at Homelink. Over the past 2 years, Bill has helped us with many projects: Kitchen remodel (granite counter-tops, tile back-splash, and painting).Irrigation system (6 zones with integrated controller)Drywall repair (3 times)Painting (3 times) Every person Bill has sent to do work has been top notch! We have been very pleased with everything. Bill is visible on the job site and makes sure that we are happy every time. We will continue to use his services in the future and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. My wife and I travel a lot for work and it's nice to know that Bill will take good care of things in our absence to ensure that the project is completed on time and on budget.

Not a very good value for the $$$.

Everything with the first room went smoothly; the second room not so smoothly. We paid them for two coats of paint, and then asked them to return to put on a third coat. They never came back for the final coat, but they did call to let us know that the man's car had broken down. My husband had to end up finishing the painting because we had to get the room put back together.

Company responded quickly to my request for an estimate. We ran into a little problem with them not receiving my return email accepting their estimate. Once that was cleared up, the job was scheduled quickly and completed to my satisfaction.

The job went excellent. The company called me back within a day to schedule an estimate for the work. The carpenter came out and measured everything and discussed the work that needs to be done. He answered all of my questions. The company sent me a quote the next day. I called them back and said that they have the job. The carpenter called me back the next day to schedule the job. He was right on time. His name was Sandy. He was very polite and a pleasure to work with. He did an excellent job, and I was very happy with how it turned out. He cleaned up everything. I will definitely call Homelink again for any other work in the future.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Horrible customer service, poor quality work, unprofessional staff... Took ten days to get a written estimate and I had to call twice to check up on it. Work start was delayed twice and once scheduled, an unannounced crew showed up one Friday without the tools or instruction to do the work needed. They took away part of a pile of yard debris and took down part of the fence, left mid-day for two hours, quit working at 4:30PM and left my yard a complete mess for the entire Easter weekend. When work resumed five days later, about which I had to call and email, progress was slow and inconsistent. When I contacted HomeLink to complain, I got passed around to three different people making three different types of commitments, so the trouble got worse due to poor communication. The company president visited my home, committed to some additional work to make amends for things that had not been done properly, then I received an email stating this work was additional and that I would owe another $325 (cutting me a break for what should have been $475!) What wasn't done properly? I asked for beds to be raked out - they used a blower and the trash just got caught up under all the plantings. I asked for edges of beds to be shovel cut - they were untouched. I asked for two mulch beds to be taken down to grade and sod installed - they had to come back three times to get the area properly graded and two sections of a large bed were not addressed at all. I asked for a fence to be removed - they simply cut the posts below grade and did not remove the post and cement. I asked for a tree stump to be ground out - they just covered it with sod and left a hump in the yard. I asked for an ornamental holly tree to be relocated - they cut it down. I was at no point provided the opportunity to sign a change order agreeing to changes in terms - workers were allowed to change the scope of the project on the fly based on what suited them in the moment.. When I questioned the quality of work actually performed and the amount of money owed, I was told I was the one in the wrong and that I owed them in full. I signed the original work order, so I may have no choice but to pay them, but to me this borders on fraud. My advice: STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY AND THEIR LAZY, UNPROFESSIONAL, ARGUMENTATIVE STAFF. There are plenty of honest companies out there. Don't waste your money or time with this one.

EXCELLENT!! 5 star rating for this company. We have used Homelink numerous times, in fact we have used them exclusively since we moved to Chesterfield, VA in 2006. Bill is absolutely the best! We were preparing our home for sale and called Bill to get it ready. We put it on the 'market' and had it under contract 2 days later. I just wish Homelink serviced our new location.

Did not receive estimate as promised- no follow up

The work performed was done beautifully and in a timely fashion. We cannot say enough good things about Linda Penn and her crew (especially Andy - what a craftsman and wonderful human being). They were professional, responsive, meet all the goals for the project(s) and the finished product was magnificent. Virtually all of the Homelink contractors that have performed work in our home have meet our very high standards. A Very heartfelt thank you to Homelink including Bill Maslink, Linda Penn, Andy and Sandy!

I think he does a good job and everyone in our neighborhood uses him.

Initially I was very impressed with the owner, Bill. He and his project manager assured me that things would go smoothly as I told them about a bad experience I had had with another company following a burst water heater and their poor service. I was told there would be daily oversight of my job and the entire job would take approximately 6 weeks. His project manager for my job appeared enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the process. Well, everything that COULD go wrong DID go wrong. Even the workers who came to perform the tile, dry walling, painting, etc. seemed frustrated with the lack of coordination and planning on the part of the project manager (Jenny). Amounts of tile needed were underestimated causing a delay, a tile pattern was installed incorrectly, a recess in the shower was way off center and had to be pulled out) the vanity in the master bath which previously had an electric outlet to the right now has an outlet on the left. (I am right handed) and it is now difficult using the hair dryer, etc. A light fixture I was saving from the old bathroom disappeared. A hole was knocked in the ceiling in a downstairs bath that was not part of this project and the repair showed up on my final invoice! The dry walling was done without any attempt to cover anything in the surrounding area which meant that the entire master bedroom was covered in plaster dust. The painting had to be done at least twice due to poor workmanship, "bubbled" areas that were left, no caulking appeared to have been done on areas so the painting would have a smooth finish. At one point I came home to find that my new Dyson vacuum cleaner ($500) had been used as a "shop vac" and was filled with plaster dust and debris. THIS BEING SAID....Bill was 100% responsive and took accountability for the poor performance I had experienced. He went to great lengths to make things right, adjusted my bill to compensate for numerous issues and has agreed to send his housecleaning crew to clean my upstairs once a separate job done by another company replacing all carpeting with laminate was complete (that job has just been completed). He replaced the missing light fixture at his own expense and acknowledged that on my job, there should have been more oversight on his part over his project manager and he apologized profusely which I genuinely appreciated. The end result is that I have two very nicely done bathrooms but it was definitely not smooth sailing and most of the time I felt like I was the project manager having to stay on top of the mishaps that seemed to come daily. As long as Bill is your project manager I would assume that you would not have one problem with this company. Again, he is VERY responsive and we left on good terms in spite of all the issues because of his attitude and sense of good business in making things right. It is his attitude at the very end that made me give this experience a "C" as opposed to a "D" or "F". Had he been involved all along the way I feel very certain this would have been an "A" experience. Unfortunately he was not and his project manager was always "in a meeting" and we corresponded mainly by text or email :( and things were done incorrectly and corrections had to be made. Bill was very gracious when he did the "walk through" with me and I showed him why I was so frustrated. I said I would not use them again but I have to say that if Bill has the oversight on your job you probably won't have a problem.

I have used them for several projects in the past and some experiences have been very good, others have been mediocre. It's a great one-stop contact, but some services are more expensive than you may be able to find elsewhere.

Everything went well from start to finish. Everyone was very polite and professional. They were very respectfull of my home including my wood floors which I was very concerned about being scratched or dented by ladders. (did not happen) I had a few problem areas when all was finished and they promptly came back and did the touch up work. The foreman lingered a bit after the touch ups were finished just to make sure all was right and that I was happy. This company has excellent customer service! A week or so after the job was finished I have noticed a number of areas especially around trim and in corners where more care should have been taken to make sure the finish was nice and neat. I see a lot of areas that are not smooth and professional looking. That is the reason for a C in the quality department.

The young man was very professional and polite. He even was okay with our very old dog that kept getting away from me to get in the middle of his work. He finished the job in just a couple of hours and everything works perfectly. Our sink drains much better than it did before because he suggested and added venting to the pipe.

It was done very efficiently. Bill, the owner, is very responsible for his men. They are excellent. If there is any problem he is right on it.

The owner (Bill) was very responsive to all e-mails I sent him and quick to provide quotes as requested. Even during the end of the year holiday season, he was able to schedule and complete several projects on time to satisfy our buyer and the relocation company we were working with. Some of the items I needed to repair/replace (plumbing/electrical/etc) were quoted a little higher than going to an individual plumber/electrician, so I went with the plumber/electrician on those items, but most everything else quoted was the lowest I was quoted by 4-5 contractors. I cannot recommend them enough! They were fabulous to work with from start to finish. Thank-you!

Total renovation of a dressing room/bathroom into a large fully tiled bathroom. Demolition, design. drywall, ceramic tile, fixtures, lighting, glass shower work, electrical, etc, etc. I could not have asked for a better experience.

We made the call on a Saturday, and had a new faucet by mid-Monday. We could have requested immediate response, but it wasn't critical.
