He was professional and came on time. He listened carefully to me and understood the kind of look I wanted. He gave good suggestions as well. The quality of his work was god and I was satisfied with his service.

I thought that they were excellent. They showed up on time and they cleaned up after themselves. We had a designer come out, and she designed everything. We loved it, and they followed it exactly. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I would rate them highly and would use them again.

They are not the cheapest however I always feel that I get good value for my money, because they stand behind what they do. I have definitely had an A experience with them. I will certainly continue to use them in the future.

I have used them before. They were very good and I was very pleased with their work. Their price is a little steep. I would continue to use them.

They had a designer come out to look at the area we were thinking about landscaping. He discussed our hardscape and landscape possibilities. He just offered us some suggestions after listening to what ideas we had. From that, he was able to draw up a rough plan and a dollar amount he had in mind. The reason we haven't done any work yet was because their prices were a little high for our liking.

They have a wonderful landscape architect, Sharon Ross. She came over, looked at my yard and made a beautiful diagram of what she thought we should do and then I paid her a fee which is then put back into the price if you hire them to do the work. She sent me a final quote which was lesser than her initial quote and we hired them for the job. The crew started out by tearing out all the old bushes, it was so embedded in the land that it took them one whole day to clear the massive amount of debris which they had to haul away at the end of the day. It was a 2 day project and it was beautifully done. The quality of their work is excellent. The job was done pretty much right on time considering the weather conditions and Sharon called me every morning and kept me updated on the progress. The crew that came out was great and they cleaned up well in the evening. They look at your terrain and plan accordingly. We have a lot of deer’s around the house so everything that they put on the ground was something that the deer does not like. They did an affably beautiful job and it looks really lovely. We spent a lot of money in many ways but I know that it will last this house for a long time and will help me a great deal in selling the house in future because I know that the front yard makes a lot of difference in the overall presentation of the house. It was worth the money as lot of the trees and plants they put in was of prime quality and they guarantee everything that they put in so if something dies they would replace it for me free of charge. They are a great choice if you want them to come and give you ideas, especially if you have to re-do your yard. They were great for me.

I stopped by the store at Hwy 29 near 7100 in Fairfax. They were very busy - crowds of people out doing the same as me - but I had no trouble finding someone who was very knowledgable and patiently walked around with me and helped me pick out the perfect tree, and helped me pick new shrubs. She even told me the advantages of different breeds of those shrubs. She had the men efficiently move my tree and packaged it nicely so it would travel well, and I am very happy with the quality. The prices were reasonable. I'll use them again.

Project was handled by Tom Harley one of the Merrifield designers. Tom met with us twice at our home and communicated with us by e-mail on several questions that we had. He was VERY helpful and responsive. We got answers to every question within one day. Crews arrived on the scheduled day and worked steadily to finish the project (as promised) in one day.

First: this place is humongous, the variety and selection of trees (and shrubs and flowers) is awesome. Second: I found the staff to be extremely helpful. Jan spent probably an hour or two helping me pick out a tree. She was extremely informative (not to mention patient), answering all of my questions and making suggestions. Besides the tree, I also asked her about other options for some plantings I wanted to replace in my yard. I will be going back to get a shrub she recommended. I ended up with a tree, a bunch of flowers to pot, and all the stuff I needed to plant the tree and a new lawn. I am extremely pleased with all of my purchases, and plan to use Merrifield for all my future gardening needs.

Great - they came out quickly and put them exactly where I wanted them. They look great. Amazingly, they came from the sale beds, which is why the cost was so low, but they've survived beautifully so far, and they look great.

Merrifield Gardens-Fairfax is a great company which stands behind their plants and work. They come to your site to evaluate your needs and the correct plants for your location and plans. If a plant dies they will replace it or refund your cost (limits). Their store personnel are very knowledgeable and helpful. If the person you are speaking with does not know the answer they will get the right person for you. Their prices are competitive with all but the cheapo places.

Called Merrifield, ordered topsoil over the phone with help calculating amount, truck had it delivered within one hour! The topsoil was placed exactly where I requested.

Difficult to get assistance. Some of the help are retired people and not receptive to the new technology available, one garden adviser was adamant that watering timers were not worthwhile and insisted we should just hand water every day or have a neighbor water when we couldn't.

The design work was very easy to follow, as we bought the plants and planted them ourselves. The company came out to see the yard and offered several ideas that really helped us determine what was best.

It worked out in the end. The consultant was very knowledgeable and helpful. We discussed the roots and local trees. The consultant was not present at the job site during the work. The guys boxing the area out seemed knowledgeable about their work. However, when a chainsaw was heard the neighbors became worried. The work men had cut through a large tree root and compromised the tree's integrity (we are talking about tree's over 100 years old). The consultant was contacted. The work progressed with no further damage to the tree. After several letters and not much communication, Merrifield sent a contractor to remove the tree three weeks after the incident. In the progress of removing the tree, the tree contractors crushed a $200 wrought iron bench which they reimbursed us for.

Everyone that we have worked with has been very professional and knowledgeable especially Tom Wolrich, the designer. They give excellent recommendations to meet our needs. They do great work and I will use them again.
