This time everything went fine. It was $.140 I think but whatever I paid was very reasonable for 2 cleanings.
Description of Work: He cleaned my AC unit. Last spring I bought from them a one time cleaning of my heat pump in the fall and 1 time in the spring. It was in the fall that he was not able to clean it better because he didn't have the tool on the truck. He said he'll make a note that they will bring it next time in the fall..

Tech arrived and was polite. He charged me $79 after I infomed him I was an Angies List member I still had to pay the $79. I called the office and the lady said that she would mail the check back to me with VOID written across it if I gave her my credit card number over the phone for the $49 fee. I did that and as of today (6 days later) my check has still not come in the mail. The tech said I needed a new compressor so I asked if there was on in stock or it had to be ordered and how long it would be to order one. He said his office will have to call me. I told him I needed a couple days to get the money together (it was a couple thousand) and that I was trying to have it done by that Saturday. 4 days later I hear from the office asking if I still wanted it done. Well I could have sweated to death by then. I was actually looking for a return call on Friday but it didnt come until Monday. I realize ac companies are busy right now but was not impressed.

I paid for two systems. Matt did an excellent job, explained all information, we talked about checking the thermostat to digital to be made energy efficient.
Description of Work: Inspected the heating system & cleaned the coils in the system; inspected under house unit; checked thermostat to make sure they are calibrated; checked filters, outdoor coils to make sure system is ready for winter, took amp demo off.

Matt Rhea was our technician. He was prompt, professional, and personable. He informed us of the issues we had which lead us to getting a quote from Bill McEwen the next day. Bill was also very professional and personable. In the end we got quotes from other companies and went with one of them, but Blazer's response and inspection were awesome. We still highly recommend them.

Matt arrived early but waited until the appointed time. He is quite friendly, yet professional. His work is always thorough and careful. He explained everything to me. I asked him to do a quick check of the crawl space vents and ducts, which he did cheerfully. Great service, as always. I've been with Blazer since I bought the heat pump from them 5 years ago.

The provider failed to follow through with a call back!
Description of Work: I called Blazer on 05/08 and spoke to a service person,who was helpful. I forgot his name. He told me he would ask the office to give me a call the next day to schedule for a tune up. I did not hear from them and so about 5:00PM I called them and spoke to Khalid who advised me TO CALL THE OFFICE MYSELF on Monday 05/12 since the office would be opened then!!!!!! Wow ,I guess they do not want any customers. If you couldn't even follow through with the simple task of calling your potential customer back as promised then …….I wonder what the rest of the service would be like. Very disappointed ! I will be choosing another company

Complete replacement of HVAC system (York Gas heating and AC). System installed with 2 year service agreement. Heating worked satisfactorily however in spring AC did not work (compressor and fan did not work and had to be ordered and replaced). They tried to charge me for replacement and service for system they installed that never worked. On future warranted service tune up calls they again tried to charge for service on equipment. At 1 year service they charged a service call fee, when I showed that I had a 2 year service agreement the technicians left and within 15 minutes returned stating their boss had ordered them to collect $139.00 at risk of losing their jobs. I refused to pay.
Description of Work: Complete HVAC system replacement. Gas heating and AC with 2 year service agreement. Installation seemed to go OK in Oct. 2009, Technicians installed and tested equipment reporting working condition. Heat was satisfactory throughout the winter. In March 2010 switched to AC which did NOT work. Called Blazer and reported AC not working. Sent techs out who discovered compressor and fan needed to be ordered and replaced (never used). Blazer attempted to charge for service call!

. The $139 charge was for a 1 year Maintenance/Service agreement that covers 2 visits per year to clean and check system. This maintenance agreement is for yearly routine maintenance only. This customer had a 10 Year Parts & Labor warranty on her system. This means you do not have to pay for Parts or Labor. However,you are required to pay a diagnostic fee per occurrence. The 10 year plan requires a yearly maintenance agreement for the 10 year plan to be active. I would compare this to the required maintenance on an automobile for a manufacturer’s warranty. In summary, the $139 fee we were trying to collect was for the yearly maintenance agreement. I hope this clears up any confusion. We did try to reach out to this customer with no return call.

Blazer Service Heating and Air Conditioning Company works with the builder of my house. I would not use them if they were the last people on earth. They didn’t want to shorten the duct pipe because it would have taken a good amount of time for them to do that. So they told me that the dryer vent superseded the county code which was completely false. I’m a representative on the county board for electrical engineering and I knew that it was completely false information. They lied to me. However, they finally did shorten it. The actual quality of the work, when done, was okay; but they didn’t want to do it in the first place. I don’t remember if they were responsive or punctual; it’s been long time since the service. They were reasonably professional except that they lied to me.
Description of Work: I last used Blazer Service Heating and Air Conditioning Company for some warranty work on my Heating & A/C unit about four and a half years ago. The duct work for my dryer vent was too long and I wanted it shortened.

Over the past few years their customer service has been non existent. We have been customers for 6 years and have had a service agreement with the company for the whole time. When they come to provide service, they never have the filters needed to replace ours so we have to meet them twice. We have even reminded them when we schedule to bring the proper filters with no luck. In our most recent service call in May, I had a discussion with the service technician: first about our purchasing the filters from Blazer Service, and that when the filter was replaced to please remove all the old filters that the previous technicians had left in our attic and crawl space. Based on this conversation, I assumed the filters had been replaced. Three weeks later our downstairs unit was not working properly and on a Wednesday evening I put a call into the service center. Our call was never returned and when we called back on Monday there was no apology, in fact they would not provide service until Tuesday (despite having a service contract). They came out for the service call, and the system was not working properly because the filter was completely clogged. (the filter that I thought had been changed during our biannual service call 3 weeks prior) They charged us for the service call (which we spoke to the service manager about and they eventually waived) and had to come back the next day to replace the filter. They did not have the upstairs filter in stock and were going to call us when it came in. On June 19th we were told that they were going to have the filter overnighted from Lynchburg and would call us, they never called. We called back on July 1 and that evening received a message that they were returning our call, the filter was in, they were completely booked that week but we could come pick it up. This message was unsettling as the reason for the service call was not changing the filter in the first place, then we were told the filter would arrive in a few days and it was not until we called again that it was "found" in the office. So, this will make four times that we have to meet a service technician at our home to get what should have been done in one visit. Calls to John Cortright were not returned and they made no effort to deliver the filter (we offered to install it) despite waiting 2 weeks for it. I would in no way recommend this company. They have not shown in any way that they are interested in our business. We have not seen any benefit in having a service contract with them as there is no priority in scheduling service or even in getting a call returned. We want a refund in the remaining time left on our service contract so that we can work with a company that cares about its customers.
Description of Work: Installed a heat pump and a gas furnace, replaced our hot water heater. Provided biannual service on our units per service contracts for 6 years.

They were prompted. The bulk of the charge was a $75 diagnostic fee just to make the appt. They had the issue diagnosed and the part fixed in 10 minutes. They agreed to handle the warranty claim. The issue was a bad igniter. They were willing to submit the warranty claim. The person was professional, however, they got a C because they left the furnace parts on the floor and did not put them back on before leaving. They were willing to return to correct. I made the appt. based on the great comments from other members. I'm assuming they were written by the employees of the company.
Description of Work: The heating furnace no longer omitted heat.

I have used Blazer before with excellent results. This insatallation was very smooth. The salesman gave me a verbale price quote but was one day late in providing a written estimate. Blazer was not the lowest bid but they did negotiate to within $100. I have had such great service from them on my four zone HVAC system that they installed the extra money was worth it to me. The installers called to let me know they were on the way. They were on time, professional and did a great job. They were sure I was without water for the shortest possible time. They cleaned up completely. During the day the salesman stopped by once to see how things were going and a supervisor stopped by twice. The entire project took about six hours.
Description of Work: Remove a tank style water heater and installed a Rinnai tankless natural gas water heater.

Blazer Service has been doing all the servicing on our heating and air conditioning for many years. This year, they cleaned all our air ducts in our home in addition to the maintenance. We are on a yearly contract for all of our maintenance needs for maintaining proper working functions on our system. They come on a regular basis to service our heating and air conditioning, and they will do any repairs if needed. We are pleased with this service, and they are very reliable and professional. The price is very reasonable for the service they provide.

Blazer is a very professional company and they did a great job with the installation. The follow up services with the company have also been great. They have been out twice since the installation just for minor things and they have been awesome. I am very happy and I will keep them around for a while.

Both of these systems were very old and beginning to malfunction, so they needed replacement. Blazer did an excellent job, and it took them about four days to complete it. Everything's working well now.
