Provided thorough home inspection while I waited. Answered questions and made recommendations. Printed out report and a couple with pictures prior to leaving (from his own computer and printer).

Mr. Smith arrived exactly on time and took his time going through my house from basement to attic. I have a very old house (80+ years) and I had a particular problem with a leak coming into the ground floor ceiling than neither a roofer nor a plumber could identify. Leon saw that water was coming in behind the gutter, and also another gutter that could cause more problems later on. He pointed out changes that could or should be made to make the house safer or could possibly lower my utility bills. He was at my home for approx. 4 hours and when he was done he provided me with a notebook that gave a thorough overview of everything - roof, plumbing, dampness, electrical, etc. - plus pictures and a DVD!!! He also gave me the name of a roofer whom I called and was very impressed with who will be doing the repairs to the roof and chimney. I had been thinking about getting a whole-house appraisal for a while but thought it might be too costly. WIth the 20% off Angie's List coupon it was money well spent. Although I don't intend to sell my home, I do want to keep it in good condition and this evaluation has established the "big picture"; something I can use to make modifications a little at a time.

Leon Smith of Atlantic Inspectioins provided a completely thorough inspection from start to finish. Mr. Smith is very detailed and extremely knowledgeable about the different components of a home. He explained the working parts of the home in a way that made since. He provided pictures, maintenance tips, and a professional report which will all come in handy if I need to refer back to something. I highly recommend Leon Smith of Atlantic Inspections, Inc.

The entire appointment went smoothly. It was necessary for Atlantic Inspections to have a table top or other location with access to power suitable for computer hookup. In a very systematic manner each part of my house was inspected and after each it appeared that the details were captured before moving on to the next. The entire visit lasted about 3 hours and at the end of the appointment I was presented a bound detailed report of each area and digital photos of the problem areas. The entire report was reviewed at which time all questions were answered and I was provided contact information of companies that could help with those problem areas.

Leon was very professional. He was chosen by our real estate agent (our fault). I noticed things while we were there for the inspection that the trained eye of the inspector "didn't see". Moreover, we're still finding things that we felt he should have caught during the inspection. Things that aren't hidden or would have needed any kind of removal of anything to see. One would like to think that your agent the hired inspector have your back, however, buyer beware. Although he gave us a "thorough" and professional report, we question his thoroughness.
