According to all roofing manufacturers, Ice and Water-shield must be installed along all eaves, valleys and flashings to prevent leakage due to ice dam. What manufacturers don't tell you is that Ice and Water Shield must be installed behind the gutter and up underneath the roof shingles at least 32' above the gutterline. Rest assured, even if we had 3' of melting snow and ice your exterior wall will most certainly not leak again. We greatly appreciate your business. Thank you, Steven

I had stains on my master bedroom ceiling and one bump-out ceiling that indicated to me I had roof leaks. I had been trying to schedule with another roofer for two months, but they kept rescheduling, and I was on a tight schedule, so I canceled my work with them, went to the List and chose Roofer 911. Steven Briesemeister, the owner, told me on the phone he'd come out the next day, and was right on time. Because of the delays from the other provider, the painters I had originally scheduled for a period after an inspection had already come and gone, so Steven did not had a stain to look at. Steven walked through the rooms with which I had a problem while scanning with an infrared camera. He showed me the results immediately, indicating cold spots in areas of my attic which revealed poor insulation. He spent time educating me on what I was seeing on his camera's screen. Based on the type of stains I described and the evidence of his scan, he assured me my problem was not with a roof leak, but with condensation. He explained how typical this is, and walked me through what to do to insure the ceiling stains did not return, We then looked at the bump-out. Steven's scans showed spots that had gotten wet, but his experience came into play here. We went to the bedroom above the offending bump-out and he described a situation where driving rains will hit the type of window I have and not drain properly through the weep holes (can't keep up with the amount of water.) Even though he did not see a cold spot under the window, he said he was certain this was what caused the spots on the bump-out. At this point Steven could have sold me an expensive fix involving a minimum service call, but he didn't. Rather than run up my tab, he explained each step of a simple fix I could perform to prevent a recurrence. He also sent me a copy of one photo he took with the infrared camera, and a recommendation for a product to use on the window fix. Steven also did a ground level review of my gutter and roof over the bump-out, and told me it all looked really good. He explained something I had not known about gutter construction, and was complimentary of my home's builders for the job they did. I am very impressed with Steven Briesemeister. He is a contractor with integrity, has great communication skills and is very knowledgeable. He left me with a game plan, didn't overcharge, and I am very happy with both the results and his service. I highly recommend Roofer 911 to anyone with a roofing concern.

Unfortunately, many times the infrared camera will not work inside an attic during the winter months because of the building materials being at the same temperature. However, when I performed the infrared scan inside your bedroom I could see very clearly how your roof leak was originating from the ridge vent and settling on the ceiling around the air vent. Ridge vent leaks can be very tricky for many contractors because most often they will see no signs of damage so they automatically rule it out as a source. Just so you know, even if I went up on your roof to do a visible inspection everything would look perfectly fine because the problem is not on the outside but instead on the underside because of not being sealed to the deck to block water intrusion. We greatly appreciate your business. Thank you, Steven

Steve Briesemeister met me around noon and quickly spotted the cause of the water damage. I had a written estimate within an hour and after signing off on it around 1pm, he had workers at the house within two hours. We were glad to get this fixed ASAP because we had a very heavy rain the next morning.

We had the water leak problem started around 2am, I emailed Mr. Briesemeister asking for help. He called me around 8:30am and was at our house by 11:00am. Somehow the water leak had stopped by then, but using an IR camera he was able to trouble shoot the problem very quickly and found out that we have a condensation problem due to poor insulation in some areas in the attic. It was not a roofing issue. He recommended me what I need to do to fix the problem. Mr. Briesemeister refused to accept any payment from me for this service.

When I did the infrared scan I noticed you have a lot of missing insulation directly above where you have a leak inside your bathroom. The heat and moisture from taking showers and baths is escaping into the attic and causing condensation to develop when it meets the cold air. Once the insulation on the attic floor is built-up to surface level and having the bathroom fan sealed your condensation problems will be over for good. It was my sincere pleasure to be of service and we greatly appreciate your business. Thank you, Steven

I had them on Monday or Tuesday of last week. I had shingles and siding blew off my house, I called roofer 911 and they came over very very promptly and actually was the next morning and did all the work Tuesday and had everything done by the end of the day. They completed the job and did excellent work they were on time and professional and very polite. The owner came and over and the workers came over very quickly, and I am giving them the highest rating. In terms of customers service, they were the best I have ever had, they were really cutting edge. He helped me to find the shingles and siding, the shingles that I did have had been discontinued.

I will hire this firm again if I ever have roofing leak problems. They owner is highly experienced and provided excellent evidence regarding the sources of my leaking problems. His proposal for eliminating the sources of the leaking was very detailed. His crew showed up the very next day and worked for more than 6 hours on my roof. I thought I had additional problems in the master bedroom but he advised that I didn't have a problem and showed me using infrared imaging that the discoloration was caused by a lack of insulation. His professionalism, experience and honesty are unquestionable. I am not knowledgable about roofing and really appreciated advice and workmanship I can trust.
Description of Work: This firm identified the source of my roof leaks even providing infrared photos of where the leaks originated. The company owner came to my home and then had his crew come out the very next day to do the repairs. The repairs included repairing the roofing, installing new flashing, replacing roofing, repairing siding and water-proofing the siding.

When inspecting your roof along the walls we noticed the step flashings were fastened too low and allowing water to leak in. When installing step flashing the nail needs to be placed on the upper side of the step, so it covered by the subsequent piece. The roofer may not have realized the importance of this step since it most often won't leak for several years. This is our most common step flashing repair. Thankfully all the flashing's have been repaired correctly and the gutters have been re-pitched to insure a positive water-flow to the drain. We greatly appreciate your business. Thank you, Steven

We called Roofer 911. Steve, the owner, answered the phone on the second ring (5 minutes before closing). He promised to come early the next morning. He quickly found the problem and within the hour emailed us a detailed proposal with diagram. We accepted his proposal and within another hour he had 2 men on the roof fixing several issues, in spite of Leesburg being in the middle of a snow storm. The men were courteous and professional. The whole process was smooth, timely and very satisfactory. All communication with Steve was long distance, as we live in another state. We would definitely recommend and use Roofer 911 again.

We noticed that part of our ridge vent had been blown off on a Saturday afternoon - and a wintry mix was forecasted the next day. Roofer 9911 was the only company that actually picked up the phone on Saturday afternoon. It was getting close to dark so they promised to send a crew first thing the next morning. By the time they arrived, the wintry mix (including ice) had begun, and I was sure they'd say "forget it - we can't do it." To my great shock and relief, they were willing to go up to our third story roof- even in those conditions- and able to fix it. Thank goodness because by the time anyone else called back on Monday, there was a LOT of melting ice on our roof. They totally saved the day!

Your ridge vent is what caused the most water damage inside your home but also the HVAC heating air duct was venting warm air into the attic instead of the roof and caused condensation build-up. Thankfully your home is now 100% water-tight and consider yourself very lucky you did not develop mold from so much warm moist air trapped in the attic. We greatly appreciate your business! I called on Monday to see if Roofer 911 would help me find the cause of some water issues I was having. Water was leaking into the wall at both lower corners of a large picture window located along the roofline of a vaulted bedroom ceiling. Steve arrived Tuesday morning and used his equipment to locate the cause of the problem. He was extremely thorough taking readings and pictures both inside and outside the house. He even climbed up into an adjacent "crawl space" so ensure there was no issue up there as well. He confirmed that the issue was not a roofing problem but rather condensation on the window getting into the wall at the corners of some new plantation shutters recently installed. A new window has now been ordered to take care of the condensation problem. I am extremely grateful for his professionalism and accommodation in determining the problem and recommending a solution. I highly recommend Roofer 911. I will use them again as needed. What a great company.

Roofer911 is well known in our local community for his prompt response and quick turnaround on service. I had originally contacted them through their website form and provided a photo of my problem area on the roof on a Sunday. I did not hear back after most of the day, so I called and left a VM as well. Stephen replied to the electronic form shortly after that time, and offered to be out Monday AM to provide a quote and do the infrared scan, to which I confirmed via email. He also instructed me to buy his offer for the infrared scan on the website which I did about 2hrs later. Then things got weird... Appointment window on Monday comes and goes. I tried calling him to find is VM was full and could not take messages. I tried 2 more times later in the afternoon with no success. We did have heavy winds that weekend, so I can assume he was pretty busy, so finding VM full is not TOTALLY unexpected.. but still a problem. I then left emails since I could not leave new VMs. After no contact for the rest of Monday, I get an email Tuesday morning in response to the online offer I purchased saying they could be out Wednesday.. but no acknowledgement of what happened Sun through Monday! And keeps asking for my contact info, which I've provided in three separate forms prior. We exchange mails, and he'll be there Wednesday (compared to original Monday commit). Once onsite Stephen is nice enough and professional, and operates all digital with his estimates sending via email after he inspects. Using his infrared camera, he went through my areas of concern and we discussed to my satisfaction. This is his normal tool for ID'ing water issues so paying for an 'extra' inspection is purely a service, but he offsets it with a discount on his repairs and the $$ involved is cheap. It's nice for a piece of mind if nothing less... and there are no other hidden fees to be there, etc. For my roof issue, we looked at the ridge vent from ground level and Stephen quoted replacing a 10ft section of vent, and the necessary sealing around it. They'd be able to do the work today. Stephen sent the quote shortly after our meeting, and after paying workers were onsite ~2hrs later exactly on time. This is the part of the experience Roofer 911 is known for. I'm slightly skeptical about the work done vs the cost quote.. given the workers were here and gone within 25mins and I was unable to supervise their work. But the workers were polite and apparently exceedingly prompt :) But local reputation has been good for their work. I'm not ecstatic with cost quote ($800) vs amount of work done... but I think what you are paying for with Roofer 911 is the convenience and quick turnaround time. They are polite, (usually) prompt, and easy to interface with. Maybe not the cheapest, but seem to be the easiest...

After noticing what appeared to be a a leak from the roof, I availed of Roofer 911's Angie's list offer for infrared leak detection. Roofer 911 responded almost immediately after I purchased the deal and scheduled to come to my home shortly thereafter. They arrived on time and took the time not only show me what the infrared was finding but also to explain the different things than can impact the results. The finding was that condensation was building up in my attic and that a ridge vent was needed to eliminate the problem. I received a written estimate and pictures evidencing the issue and once I agreed to the work, they had a team at my home within an hour. The work was completed the same day. Unlike many other roofing companies I dealt with over the years, Roofer 911 was careful to explain things that I did need as well as things that I didnt need. Everyone I dealt with at Roofer 911 was very professional. I would use them again without hesitation.

I sent an email via the website an hour after closing time on Wednesday night and was called within 15 minutes! The owner came to our house the next morning to inspect using an infrared scan and a visual inspection. He decided to send his foreman to do a closer inspection that afternoon. The foreman and a colleague showed up promptly at 2:00 p.m. after giving a courtesy call to say they were on the way. An inspection showed that some roofing nails had worked there way down through a layer and were the source of the leak, but the rest of the roof was in good shape. After explaining the problem and getting approval they did about an hour of work to lift up some roofing tiles, apply sealant, relaid the tiles, etc. They cleaned up fully afterwards. Here's the crazy thing -- the owner contacted me that evening to say that because we had used the infrared inspection service he would give us a 100 dollar discount off the originally agreed upon 450 dollar cost, and sure enough the charge on my credit card was 100 less than the original quote. A terrific experience. I think since the company focuses on repairs rather than entire roof jobs they can be extremely responsive.

I purchased the leak detection on Angie's List on 2/10 based on the good reviews for Roofer 911. Steve contacted me a little while later the same day. He came out the next morning (2/11) and did the inspection. He found a leak, prepared a proposal with images and a description of the work that needed to be done and had his guys at my house later the same day to fix the issue. Steve was very professional... Great contractor to work with. I'm not sure about the price since I didn't contact anyone else but I feel confident that his crew did quality work. I guess time will tell but I highly recommend Steve.

They worked out well. We have had a leak and then it stopped leaking, but we had some damage that needed to get fixed; so we called another Angie's List provider. They wanted to replace our whole roof, which seemed off base because the house is less than 10 years old. We differed and the roof wasn't leaking. We had a bad storm and the leak came back. Provider quickly responded to inquiry regarding possible repair of roof to resolve leakage issue. He arrived on time to scheduled appointment, was knowledgeable and informative regarding cause of roof leakage following a thorough inspection and evaluation of the problem. He also put us at ease letting us know that the problem wasn't serious and could be resolved without replacing entire roof. We were made to feel comfortable with the reported solution to the leakage compared to other companies that were only interested in replacing the entire roof. The repairs were minimal, but if left as is, could have resulted in considerable damage and more costly repairs. We feel that the service was excellent, completed quickly at a fair and affordable price. We are very happy with the outcome and would recommend provider to other customers.
Description of Work: Evaluated and determined cause of roof leakage, timely provided cost of repair and upon approval, immediately had workers repair problem areas, cleaned up debris.

Thank you so much for your very kind review! Unfortunately, the initial roofer who installed your roof damaged the roof flashings by fastening roof nails in areas that would cause a leak in time. Luckily, the amount of damage inside your home was very minor which could've been much worse. Very important, please remember to gently tape over the small section of mold on the drywall completely before removing so it does not become airborne and grow elsewhere. All repairs have been completed correctly so enjoy your water-tight home. We greatly appreciate your business! Thank you, Steven

Job was completed same day, and Steve (owner) was extremely responsive throughout. He walked me through every step of the process, and made sure I understood everything that was going on. The price was a bit more than I expected, however, the same day service and fast turnaround (especially for a roof in winter - less than 1 day to assign and complete job) was phenomenal, and well worth the slightly higher price. Would definitely recommend and use them again.

It was such a pleasure to meet with you and rest assured your roof leaks are now in the past. Also, please use my infrared pictures as reference so that your insulation company can see where the insulation needs to be built-up inside the attic. Once this is completed you will notice your energy costs will be lower and the rooms upstairs will be warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. We greatly appreciate your business! Thank you, Steven

The night of 11/30/14-11/31/14 was very windy. I woke up to find some shingles in my backyard. The roof was replaced in 2012 and this had happened before. The original roofer eventually did replace them but it took so long to arrange. I am leaving on an extended business trip next week so didn't want to leave without seeing to the repair. I read positive reviews of Roofer 911 on Angie's List and sent an email. To my great surprise, Steven responded within minutes and was at my house within an hour. He was able to use an infared device to locate where the shingles were -- it turned out that there were a couple of places were they were missing. He was also able tell me where there was missing or deficient insulation -- clearing up a bit of a mystery about why a room was so cold.... Again, to my surprise, Steven sent out a team to repair the roof that very day. It only took about an hour, and Jun replaced the missing shingles, fastened down other loose shingles and did some sealing. He provided additional helpful information -- that there was nothing wrong with the roof or shingles, but that shingle loss is not unusual, and that builder grade shingles (which I have) are only rated to stand 60 mph winds (if that). Steven even called me back the next day,... The service I received from Steven and Jun was of the highest caliber and very professional. While $550 is nothing to sneeze at, I think the price was fair for the work done (not to mention that Jun had to spend time on the roof in freezing and windy conditions). It is rare to have a service company respond so quickly, and acutally perform the work in an equally timely manner. I can now go on my trip without worrying about roof problems.
