Description of Work: I took the two-person 8-hour package, which cost $1,100.00, which is a lot of money, but I was drowning in paper and unknown stuff and I couldn't stand it anymore. Both people showed up by 8 a.m., ready to work. They took a brief lunch break, but otherwise we all worked steadily on clearing out my bedroom the entire time. I can now see the floor. All the sorting, trashing and recycling was taken care of, and they also took my donations and shredding. My to-be-filed now fits in a shoebox! We only got the bedroom and part of another room organized, but to me it was totally worth it, since I can see a way forward through the rest of my house mess now.

The owner of Organizing Maniacs contacted me within 24 hrs of my late-night email requesting a quote, and spend about a half an hour with me on the phone (free of charge) discussing my individual project and giving me details about pricing/scheduling. She was able to use my answers to pair me with someone who would be a good fit for what I needed. Stephanie worked with me the following week on two separate dates to organize my storage shed and my small D.C. apartment. Since I used to live in a much bigger space, I had a LOT of stuff that didn't have a "home" in my new place, and my living area had been overrun with boxes from my last move -- things I just couldn't find the motivation to sort through myself. Stephanie was able to help me make decisions without being pushy, and she came up with some great ideas about how to use things I already had, rather than pushing pricey extra materials. Stephanie was great at helping me tackle the project in the most efficient way possible while still allowing me time to sort through more personal things on my own. Organizing Maniacs was able to take away a HUGE amount of items I'd decided to discard or donate, at no extra charge, which is great because those things would otherwise have continued to sit in my apartment -- I have a small car! I was able to get done in 8 hours what would have taken me at least twice as long on my own. I was prepared to spend a LOT more than I did, and every dollar I spent was worth the peace of mind I have now when I come home from work. Now that I feel like I am truly able to utilize my small but cozy space, I feel like I can afford to stay in a location and neighborhood that I really enjoy. I was on the fence about spending money for something that I "could do myself".... but I'd put it off for so long I couldn't even see the potential of the space anymore! Truly worth it. Now I can enjoy my home. :)
Description of Work: Organization of small (approx. 5 x 5) storage unit and 1 BR/1 BA basement apartment, including bagging and hauling away donated items, papers to shred, and some items to be discarded.
