They were fantastic - our floors are absolutely gorgeous. We really didn't know that it was possible to restore our existing flooring and they were able to do this and matched it perfectly to the new install. Ileana was prompt and very professional when providing the quote. Her husband Jose managed the work and they did a great job refinishing our kitchen, hallway and foyer. I would hire them again in an instant! The floors were quite worn and the crew was able to sand down, stain and seal it over the course of just a couple days.

The owner of the company, Jose, is excellent to work with. He and his crew were extremely reliable, punctual and hardworking. They performed exactly the work they promised with no delays. They came to work even during a snow storm and shoveled the walkway several times so they could bring in their equipment and supplies. They moved large area rugs prior to performing the work. Jose is very pleasant, very responsive to phone calls, and will offer you advice on the best way to do the job. He also supervises and assists with all of the work. It was a good experience for us and I would definitely hire them again.

Ileana, who also spent years as an interior decorator, was extremely professional and helped me choose a stain to go with the colonial style townhouse. The process was thoroughly explained, and included sanding, minor repairing, staining, and coating the floors. Some damaged floorboards were replaced and stained to match the surrounding pieces with attention to detail. Baseboard quarter-round was trimmed and stained to fit the space exactly. Jose's team was punctual, worked to the estimated time, and thoroughly cleaned afterwards. Sanding floors obviously creates dust, but the team did their best to contain the dust and cleaned every day. After the work was completed, a stair tread was discovered to have warped after taking the stain (wood is organic, after all), and Ileana and Jose personally came back themselves to fix the board on a weekend at no cost. These people care about the quality of their work and care about workmanship and professionalism. I would (and already have!) recommend them to my friends and family for a quality job at a reasonable cost.

The service we received was spectacular. Our old, worn out floors went from unattractive to gorgeous. We could not be more pleased. We also had new hardwood floors installed in the kitchen. Jose and Ileana, the owners, were involved in the process from start to finish ensuring a wonderful result. They both were a joy to work with as well. Once the work commenced, Buff and Coat kept the rest of our house dust free while working. The new kitchen floors blended seamlessly into the refinished hardwood flooring. Best of all, Buff and Coat did our hardwood floors in a matter of days. We didn't need to stay off of the floors for a week like other refinishing companies. They use a new product that I'm sure is patented. It gives lasting results but without the hardship of having to avoid all floors for a long period of time. I highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to install or refinish their wood floors.

We recently purcahsed a house containing over 3000 square feet of hardwood flooring. Although only 10 years old, the floors were in various states of repair. On the main level, in high traffic areas, they were scratched and abused. In other areas they had finish issues but were in fairly good shape overall. In some rooms they had barely been touched. Ileana from Buff and Coat came and reviewed the floors in great detail. I had hoped to use the Buff and Coat process in lieu of full refinishing. She showed us specific areas where we could do that, but also areas where their process would simply not be effective and the floors needed a full sand and refinish. She provided a quote on the spot for the recommended work. We later received quotes from 4 other companies. In the end, Buff and Coat was not the cheapest, although they were close, but price alone did not drive our decision. We also came up with several different options for the work which they diligently addressed and priced for us. To us, Buff and Coat conveyed a district sense of professionalism that other floor companies simply didn't have. While trying to make our decision on which option we want, the operations manager (Jose) visited the site and went through all the various options. It is clear that he had a deep level of knowledge on hardwood flooring, and he answered all my questions in great detail. Secondly, Buff and Coat bent over backwards to meet our very tight timeframe. It can take a LONG time to work on 3,000 square feet of floors, and we had a small window before we planned to move in to the house. Buff and Coat worked on a Saturday to finish the job early and allow us more time before we move in. And finally, the quality of the work was outstanding. The stain on the refinished floors is a close match to the old floors, and in fact looks even better than the original. I am very happy with the work and would use Buff and Coat again in a heartbeat.

They worked two bedrooms and the hallway first. It took them two days to sand, repair those rooms and hall way. The next day they stained and applied the polyurethane. We let that dry then moved the furniture back into those rooms. Then they returned and did the remaining two bedrooms and the stairs and landing. Their dustless system worked super!!!!. Other floor refinishers told us, either they didn't have the dustless process or it would cost double the price, or no matter how much you cover your furniture and clothes they will get covered with dust and "....maybe move out while we're doing the place". So for the price, and the quality of the finished job we believe it could not have been better.

Buff & Coat Fairfax did a great hardwood floor restoration job, and provided us with a cost competitive quality service on approximately 785 square feet of Bruce CB921 hardwood flooring laid-down by our original homebuilder about 20 years ago. Our floors were really beat-up from decades of wear stains, impact damage, discoloration and scrapes. Jose Matos, Ileana Sanchez and their experienced flooring crew completed a tough in-place restoration process over three days. They had to lift and relocate all of the furniture to other parts of the home. The crew completely sanded the existing floor boards back to bare wood, buffed and hand scraped them for complete refinishing. The crew laid down two applications of Dura Coat brand (Golden Pecan) stain, one coat of LOBA® brand EasyStart water based sealer, and two top coats of Pallman “Pall-X 96” gloss polyurethane finish. Dura Coat is a MINWAX product made in the USA, and the high quality sealers/finish coat products are all made in Germany. Really good stuff! The end result is most impressive. All of the furniture was replaced in its original position with meticulous care, and the B&C Fairfax crew helped us apply new felt protective pads on exposed surfaces from EVERBILT, that we purchased at Home Depot. I decided not to use them because they were not really looking to refinish the floor. I mean, they can but I just went with a local guy who was more reputable. But they were fine and professional. They were a little too manufactured and franchised. I just did not like them that much.

Everything went great. This is a townhouse I am trying sell and the floors were pretty in pretty good shape but needed to be taken up a notch or two to make them more presentable. The floors came out beautifully. The company is excellent to work with from estimation through completion. They set an example for all companies out there doing any kind of business. I've had to have other things done to the house as well and I wish those companies were as easy to deal with as this one. The crew doing the work was really knowledgeable about wood floors, did excellent work, really paying attention to detail. At the end they even asked me for touch-up paint to touch-up a few spots on the baseboards that got a little bit scuffed during the process. To anyone out there looking to have their wood floors fixed up, these people are definitely worth a try.

The Hardwood floors in our home are 40 years old. The floors have never been mistreated, but from normal usage they needed some care. We talked to a number of flooring companies but found Buff and Coat presented a detailed explanation of what they would do. . They were very prompt and business like. It turned out that we made the correct decision. We would recommend them to family and friends.

We could not have asked for a better company! Buff & Coat is a small, family-owned business that treats each job like they are working on their own home! From courteous and friendly employees to care in getting the job done right, you would be hard pressed to finding a better floor finisher. Their desire to make the job perfect extends to all employees - from flexible scheduling to reworking a floor section that didn't seem right in their eyes (which looked great to me). Our floors had been neglected for at least 10 years, if not most of their life, and Jose and his crew brought them back to life like they were new. They discovered the source of the water damage (which the prior owners said was "fixed"), recommended simple repairs to seal it up (and even helped!), and tore out wood until they located solid/sound wood then rebuilt the area. Highly recommended for any hardwood floor service!
