The Grout Medic - Northern VA

They arrived precisely on time for both the estimate and the work. The estimate was extremely professional and carefully explained, as well as accompanied by brochures further explaining the process. The work was pretty expensive, so I had to scale back on having the bathroom floors completely regrouted, as I would have liked. But the workman did a meticulous job on the shower and it looks brand new. He took his time on the whole project and did a thoroughly professional job. I'm extremely pleased with this company, and would gladly recommend them to others...in fact, I've done just that a number of times already.

They were very helpful and we might have used them, but the job was past what they would normally do. It was more than just a repair. They gave a good description of what is was they were going to do, price and the follow up which is a lot more than some people did. Had we been able to do a repair then I suspect we would have used grout medic. The price did not include the tile, it was just for the labor. We were very happy with them, they followed up and we certainly would recommend them it's just that the job got bigger and we would have had to act as our own general contractor. If I have strictly a tile job in the future I would use them.

We have yet to schedule anything. He was punctual and very free with information on other people that he has worked for. His web page is really informative. He has a lot of before and after pictures and it is very interesting. He was very timely and was here in a matter of days. He came early for the appointment. He is very professional. He was very clear on what he did and didn't do.

Very prompt and professional. Provided recommendation that I replace shower pan, and referred me to another company. I would definitely call them again.

Arrived on time - David provided estimate for repair to shower stall - let me know what work he could and could not complete, and provided referral for work that he could not handle. Very honest and knowledgable. I would definitely use him again. They work on grout, but also do tile work.

The guy who came to do the work was on time and did the work non stop until it was complete. David, the owner of the local Grout Medic franchise, stopped by while the work was being performed to see how it was going. It looks good as new. They did a great job.

We are pretty pleased with them. We had one minor break and they came right back and dealt with it, so we would use them again. We are going to get some more work done in that bathroom and we are going to use them. We trust them and my wife said that the price was reasonable, and the work they did is holding up. They were extremely responsive, professional and knew what they were doing.

I gave the franchise headquarters a call and they directed me to the one that serviced my area. He name is Buck Collins and he came out in person to do the estimate. He was super polite and super friendly. He was very professional. They are the only contractor that really does what they do. They will repair grout instead of having to remove it. They scheduled it within two weeks. Two guys came out and scraped off the grout and then one guy left because it was a two-day job and the other guy finished it the next day. They supplied the materials and they were very high grade. It was a very cost effective product and they did it for the estimate. They were fixing what a crappy contractor did before. I have called them back for an estimate for some additional work.

I had a leak in my shower and the water was running into my office. I had a plumber come out and tell me that I needed a tile/grout company to rip out my entire shower so the plumber could repair the drip pan. I called Grout Medic. The owner, Dave Muirhead, said the job would be pretty expensive $2-3,000 and suggested that what I really needed was my shower to be recaulked for $125. He said "isn't it worth the gamble" and potential savings? I couldn't believe that just caulk would stop "the flood" but definitely wanted to try. Sure enough, Grout Medic caulked and I have had no water problems since. It would have been so easy for them to say okay, we'll rip out all the tiles/flooring/shower door etc. Anyway, that made decide that I should have Grout Medic caulk and regrout all our bathrooms - next report!

Buck Collins and crew did an excellent job in preparing our two bathrooms for sale of our home. Buck kept us informed on cost and when the workers would be there. He was always very pleasant and easy to work with. In short, one of the best repair experiences we have had in our long years of home ownership.

The experience was great. Buck was very responsive and came out to provide an estimate at a convenient day and time. Once I accepted the estimate he scheduled the job within a couple of days. The workers showed up on time. When they finished the job everything was cleaned up perfectly. Great work. Everything looks brand new. I needed some small additional work done that was not on the estimate and Buck went ahead and did it without charge.

Buck came to the house to speak with me and to see the bathrooms, and gave me an estimate before leaving. I was able to have the work scheduled very quickly, once I got back to him. I was told who would be working on my house, and when to expect him. The work was scheduled for two days, so that we would not be without working showers; Dale worked on two baths the first day, and the other two when he returned a few days later. I marked the spots to be fixed with blue painter's tape, so when Dale arrived, the bathroom was ready for him to start. We talked about areas of particular concern, before he began cutting out the grout and caulk, and replacing them with fresh, mildew resistant product. In other areas, he patched grout that had fallen out, or filled in spots that were never there to begin with. Dale was efficient, clean, polite, and did his best to keep the dust down, but there was a thin coating of dust in the immediate area around the baths, which I expected. The inconvenience was worth it, because the baths look great.

Had started out responding to The Grout Medic's ad for a free estimate to re-grout a shower stall and bathtub. When they couldn't re-grout the old tile floors they offered to install new tile floors. Since that required the vanities and toilets be removed and the vanities were in pretty bad shape I asked if they could put in new vanities which they were willing to do and since we were replacing the vanities the old chrome combination mirror, light and medicine chests above the vanities had to go but that required an electrician which The Grout Medic was able to arrange and since we were having an electrician out anyway we wanted additional lights and ventilation fans installed. All of which required drywall and new paint which The Grout Medic arranged. Before we realized it The Grout Medic was doing a full renovation of two bathrooms. Was very satisfied with the quality of the work. It was a pleasure to have work done by people with an old fashioned American work ethic. They stayed late and worked on weekends and holidays to get the work done when they promised. On a day when The Grout Medic was supposed to come by in the afternoon I was out in the morning and my car broke down. They called me on my cell to let me know they were on the way to my house and when they learned of my predicament they drove well out of their way to pick me up and give me a ride home! Always felt comfortable leaving them alone in my home. Would use them again and recommend The Grout Medic to everyone.

Buck (in Falls Church) provided excellent customer service. He was both personal and professional. His estimate ultimately was higher than we were interested in paying, so we went elsewhere. He really recommended regrouting, which we had not considered. While a possibility, that was not what we were interested in having done. Might have considered using him if so.

My bathroom looks great. The quality of installation for the new floor and toilet is excellent. Similarly my bath tile looks like it is brand new. Before contacting the Grout Medic, I spoke to two other companies about doing the same work. Both wanted more money and neither explained the work-to-be-done as well as The Grout Medic did. The Grout Medic did an excellent job on my bathroom and they did it promptly and at low cost.
