+ 2 moreHe arrived during the estimated hour-long interval for all visits. He was always prepared and did a complete and professional job. He made sure we understood how long it long it would take for the grout to cure. I was especially impressed during the visit for the estimate. Jason was very knowledgeable and clearly described how he would do the repairs. He made a note of the brand and color of the existing grout (we had kept the old bags with grout left over from the original job) and was able to match it perfectly. He judged the color in the other bathroom to be ivory rather than white (my guess) and that matches perfectly, too.
Description of Work: He removed the existing caulk and applied new caulk, repaired missing and cracked grout, and replaced two floor tiles in our hall bathroom. He also filled in missing grout in our master bathroom.

He cleaned up everything when he left and even ran a bead of caulk around our soaking tub while he was here. I thought the price was a little high, though I did get a discount for being an Angie's List member. Otherwise a great experience.

Company provided confirmation email of telecom & reminder email for date of estimate. Wanda, who followed up to schedule service, was friendly & accommodating & immediately provided email reflecting the two dates for work to be performed. Since contractor remodel of our master bath 8+ years ago, we have experienced ongoing leakage/drainage issues with the shower stall. Costly repairs have not been effective or resulted in new problems. Jason, manager with The Grout Medic, provided estimate (within less than 24 hours). He patiently addressed our questions & concerns, to our satisfaction. He was efficient, professional & knowledgeable. Based on his experience & expertise, he offered fresh ideas & a new approach. He assessed that the side of the shower floor that was "puddling" was not level & recommended the work described above. We were also impressed with the efficiency, knowledge & professionalism of Dennis, who worked with Jason on the shower stall. Davey, who assisted Jason, did an excellent job on the bathroom floor; the assistant with Dennis is commended for his work on the shower stall. They were punctual & cleaned up each day after completing work. Time will determine if this solution resolves the recent drainage issue. However, The Grout Medic team demonstrated superior workmanship; the master bath looks like it was recently remodeled. We highly recommend The Grout Medic & will not hesitate to use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: Repaired water damage in shower stall ("puddling" in corner): installed drain extender & floor patch to correct water flow to drain, to preclude future water damage; removed existing grout in bottom row of wall tiles, air dried & replaced grout. He dropped by both days to check on the work. Charlie and Jeff did an expert job and were pleasant to have in the house. My floor looks great and I'm very satisfied with the work and the way it was done. Highly recommended!

+ 0 moreI'm very pleased. George (the manager) responded very quickly to my online request for an onsite estimate. He came to my house and examined the tub area. Some of the grout had fallen away, and the caulk was in bad shape (peeling away, mildew). He provided a written estimate of $725 for a complete re-grouting and re-caulking, and the 10% Angie's List discount took it down to $652.50. (FYI, my tub area has tile on the ceiling, too, which was included in the job. Also, I did not contact any other companies, so I don't have any price comparisons.) I also asked if a missing baseboard tile could be replaced. George said that if I buy the tile at a local store, his technician would cut it and glue it at no extra charge. On the day of the actual work, Charlie (the technician) arrived early (which was fine with me) and finished the job in about five hours. The tub area looks great! I would definitely recommend this company. By the way, Charlie did a pretty good job of keeping the dust in the bathroom, and then vacuuming the bathroom before he left. But be aware, you will still have some cleanup to do. I recommend removing EVERYTHING you can from the work area so there's less for you to clean after the work is done.

Due to the extent of the project and the fact that we have only one full bathroom, we have postponed the work. I removed everything around the tub area, but had all sorts of makeup and such around the sink which got very dusty and dirty. I could have easily removed all that in less than 5 min, even while they worked.

+ -1 moreWe used this service in 2008, so we were repeat customers. From start to finish, this project was a 5-star winner. First of all, the weekend on-line request for an estimate was promptly acknowledged. That was followed by a call from George Collins who scheduled the estimate for the next workday. His estimate was clear and concise and they honored the 10% Angie's List coupon. The work was scheduled and we were told to expect Justin Lewis, the technician, at 7:30 a.m. the next Tuesday. Justin arrived on time and quickly set about to remove all existing caulk and grout in the 3 bathrooms, then remove any mold and mildew, and then regrout and recaulk, using 100% silicone caulk guaranteed not to crack or shrink. Final step was to buff the areas and then clean up the bathroom. We were left with written instructions on how to care for our new tile so that it remains in perfect condition. The whole job took about 13 hours, spread over 3 days. Honestly, our bathrooms look better than they did when the contractor turned over our house to us in 1993. Justin has an incredibly high work ethic and works very quietly and quickly, with no mess outside the bathroom, which is remarkable considering what was being done. He asked us to inspect the rooms as he finished them and we found nothing but perfection. George Collins stopped by to do a quality control check each day and it was great to see him, but I would be surprised if he ever encountered any work that needed correction or a complaint that needed to be addressed. This is a company you can trust, with employees who are committed to being the best and are! They should give lessons to other company on how they do it. How many times can you say that you were 100% satisfied with anything? We can now! We could not be happier with the results and highly recommend them to others.

+ -1 moreI don't want to complain about the company but the person didn't know how to do the job. They said it was $200 but they gave me a discount of $50. He was going to reach a particular place and he could have gone the other way around to complete it. He didn't do the whole job. They were supposed to send the person who worked earlier but I understand because maybe of the snow or he's sick and they sent someone else. He was late, he was supposed to come in 8:00 then they found out that the person could not come so they found someone else and he came at 10:00. I understand the reasons, it was knowing that he got sick. I'm pretty generous and I want to get the work done but I didn't get it. It doesn't reflect on the company because they had a good person who did a good job the first time and he was punctual. Then something happened and they found someone else to fill in but he was not that professional. I would use them again if the first person who did the job would be the one to come.

The second one, he's not professional and he didn't do a good job. Since they've done well on the first one, I asked the company back, the name of the person is Oscar and he did a good job. And they were going to send him back but maybe he felt sick or something so they sent someone else and he didn't do a good job. I had another bathroom I wanted them to do so they sent the other person. I would use them again as long as the first person they sent would come.

+ 0 moreMy only regret is that I did not do this years sooner! Only having one bathroom, I do not wish to go through a remodel. Plus, I like my classic black and white 50s tile--it is amazing how well it has held up for so many decades--but it drastically needed freshening up because of discolored and missing grout. I hired this company because of the reviews here, so I wanted to confirm that they are right. George was careful to manage expectations--a 60-year-old bathroom will not undergo a miraculous transformation, but it comes darn close. The Grout Medic made my bathroom appear clean and fresh. By the time you taught yourself how to do this, purchased tools, and factored in the time, there is no question that paying the pros is the way to go. I will say there were some thing that could have been neater (caulking), and some tiles were chipped in the process. They will come back and make it right if you are not 100% satisfied. It is clear that they care about the customer and the job. You cannot say that about many companies these days. I was pleased that the job only took one day, and that the products they use do not have a strong odor. It is a dusty process, because they drill out all of the old grout. Make sure you remove everything, including items in your medicine cabinet. Also, have them vacuum your exhaust fan. I also think if you are selling a house and don't want to overdo it on the updates, then this is a no-brainer. I probably would have offered more on my house if the bathroom had been freshened up!

Description of Work: I had some loose tiles around the tub due to water damage in the small master bedroom bathroom. They removed the bottom two rows. Replaced the wall board in that area and installed new tiles. Then removed existing grout from the rest of the tiles around the tub and the floor. Installed new grout, sealer, and caulk.
