Senate Termite & Pest Control of VA

We have a contract with Senate for $175 per quarter, so $700 a year. For that amount they come out quarterly to check the termite stations and spray for pest control. They normally call the a day or two before to let you know when they will be coming out. Overall I would say it is hard to rate a termite/pest control company because you can't really "measure" their services. Our area doesn't have a huge pest control problem so it is hard to say if their efforts are "working" or not. The previous owners (original owners) never had issues with termites/pest either so again it is hard to measure the service received. They are punctual, they do come quarterly, and so we assum they are doing what they are supposed to. The reason why I gave an overall rating of a 'C' is for the following reasons: -The times I have been home and they have come for quarterly service, I have never seen them spray around the perimeter of the windows, which is a big entrance point for spiders and bugs -The scheduling never consists of a live person calling to ask if there are any specific issues they should be treating for -When we did require them to come out because of noises we were hearing in the walls, the tech didn't even go in the attic (though we said the sound we heard was mainly coming from the ceiling) there was also no exterior inspection to determine any entry points. He laid a few bait stations and that was it This is all compared to the last pest control company I had in southern Virginia that I felt provided more thorough and individualized service. For instance, they would always ask if I wanted my garage sprayed and recommend a time of day to do it since we had pets. Overall we never had to deal with a huge pest and/or termite problem so we just stuck with Senate but we are moving and will not be newering our contract with them on our new property.

They worked on the outside of my home. I have had them since 15 years so they are awesome.

A company salesperson came to my home selling a termite warranty and pest control services. The salesperson did a great job selling the company's services and I bought both a three year termite warranty and an annual pest control plan with quarterly service. The initial pest control service technician did an excellent job and was very thorough. He placed glue boxes, at least 20 of them, throughout the house and garage to capture any pests that where present so they could be targeted in the future. The first visit was the only visit that occurred inside the house. after months of seeing the glue boxes around I picked them up and threw them in the trash. All of the boxes in the house were empty and the four boxes in the garage had captured five or six lizards. Lizards, from what I know, are natural pest control for your garden and even garage if they are present so in essence I replaced a natural remedy for a chemical remedy. After having service for well over a year, I received a voicemail message from a technician that said he was going to my home to provide a quarterly service but would be there later than he expected. He then asked if I still had a mouse problem and said he would be placing bait boxes around the rear of my home and to let him know if I needed anything else. The problem was I had never had a mouse problem and have pets that roam my back yard. I immediately called the number left by the technician and told him I had not made any specific request for pest services. The technician seemed perplexed but conceded there must have been a mix-up in who requested what. That could have been a costly mix-up if I would have lost a pet to mouse poison I never requested or needed. I called the company a month or two after that service to cancel before the next service. I was told that I would have to cancel the service in writing. Really? I am a paying customer and to tell them I don't want them on my property anymore has to be in writing? However, a couple of weeks after I spoke with the company by phone and expressed my desire to cancel service I came home to an invoice on the door for another $90.00. Deceptive, dishonest, and unfair business practices are just a few things you could experience if you choose to do business with Senate Termite and Pest Control so beware!!!!!!!!!!

Initial inspection & discussion went very well. The field supervisor (Kris Grace), was punctual, knowledgeable, thorough & professional. He explained the variety of treatments & warrantees available & assisted in the selection of the most appropriate one. The application technician (David?) wss courteous, Thorough, & professional.

I received a phone call from Senate Termite and Pest Control Saturday morning despite the fact that my number has been on the federal Do Not Call list for several years. The "supervisor" started to claim that people must re-register themselves with the Do Not Call list each year, which we both know is not correct. I have no current or past business relationship with them. They should not be calling people who are on the Do Not Call list.

They have been very good. They have helped us with the pests. I have a yearly maintenance with them. They are very responsive and they do a good job. Their technicians are very courteous and they know their business. I have had them for years and I really haven’t switched over and looked for prices. The quality is excellent.

Calls my house days and nights from 4 different phone numbers (so far). Blocked the number the first time they called, but they still kept coming through, which is when I realized the number was different. Each time I block them, they keep calling using a different number. Telemarketing calls don't attract customers... it just p***** them off!

It went great. He was very thorough and checked all floors of the house and outside, asking questions as he went. Once the inspection was over I signed a contract for service.

They did a great job and I’m glad I used them. They told me what I needed and I didn’t think it was overpriced. They were very professional.

Originally we just had termite protection from Senate, but we upgraded (a few years ago) to include carpenter ants, crickets, and various other insects. Since then we haven't encountered any problems with termites or any other insects. Senate calls us quarterly to let us know what date they're coming out to inspect & spray. They bill our credit card automatically so, now that we've got it all set up, it works out pretty well. Overall we're happy with the results and plan to continue using them as long as the price and results don't change.

We have a yearly contract with Senate for at least the last 20 years. Jeremy is very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I have recommended Senate and Jeremy to my neighbors for their services.

Senate provided great service through their contract to remove mice in my garage attic. This technician went above and beyond in informing me that I was covered for this problem. Other companies may not have let me know. I would recommend this company to others in need of pest control.

Called to inquire about appointment as we had them review our home in the past (we were reported as having no termites) Was told, as prior clients, our report would be free. When service person came, he reiterated that service was free. No termites were found. No treatment was applied. Gave me copy of report which I then faxed to our loan agent. At the closing, about a month later, we discovered that they had been in contact with our loan/settlement company and told them that the price was $150. The loan/settlement people had paid them and now that price was part of our closing costs. This seems like a scam to me. I have called them once and they said that's their price. "Who did you talk to that said it was free?". Essentially they said "So sad, too bad" The settlement people at closing said that was indeed an outrageous price for having done nothing but provide a report. I will be calling them back, but don't have high hopes since, in order to close we had to follow through and they already have our money. We will never use them again, and would highly recommend that you avoid them.

They come on time and they give us a call before they send someone out.

We've been really happy with them. They seem to assign the same individual to areas. We see the same guy generally, and he's a really nice young man. They're really polite and they've been able to answer any question I've had.

They are responsive and they do what they say they are going to do. Their prices are reasonable and we haven't had any problems with them. We have been using them for three or four years now. My husband did some researching and they were competitively priced. My husband doesn't always go with the lowest bidder, he goes for the best service. We have had a good experience with them over a number of years and they provide a variety of services. They have been fine. I don't have anything negative to say about them. We will continue using them.

Their treatment seems to work. We had a bad experience with another company, but Senate have been good. They do not exaggerate things.

Senate Termite Control worked. I'm satisfied with their job. Their quality, responsiveness, and punctuality are great. I have no reason to stop using them in the future.

We have been using them for years. They have been good. They said if we move, we can take our contract with them with us. The traps they set work work well so far. They replace the covers to the traps when needed with no additional charge. They keep up to standard to make sure they work efficiently. If they do find termites, they do not charge extra.

It was really good of them to break up my bill into 12 monthly payments instead of me having to pay for 12 months at one go.? I have no complaints with them at all.?? I don?t have anything to compare their prices to.? These were the people we got when we first got this house and I just kept them.? I didn?t talk to anybody else.? The quality is good.? There was one time when I couldn?t find a couple of monitors they told me not to worry and they came back and replaced it.? They came back and helped me find it.? ?They were good about returns and I also had them come in and do some pest control a couple of years ago when we had a mouse infestation.? They were in the attic and the basement and so they sucked out all the insulation and patched the holes and they re-insulated the house with new insulation.? It took them the whole day to do it and their prices were as competitive as anybody else.? They were pretty good about the stuff they did.? They were neat and they didn?t just trample all over the house.? They did things like the way it should have been done.? They were quite professional.?

I love them. If I have an issue with them, they are responsive. They’re just responsive to service calls. Every time I get ants, I call and they come out. I don’t know what the others charge because I’ve been using these guys for years. I will use them again in the future.

They do good service and have a reasonable price.

The dryer vent service we got through Anglie's list was disappointing. The kid ran his vacuum down the line but quit when he said he encountered a blockage. After he left, I looked behind the dryer - where the company's rep had obviously never bothered to look - and saw that the vent had become disconnected from the dryer and smashed by something heavy falling on it. Maybe I am wrong and was expecting too much, but cleaning the dryer vent, I believe, should have included cleaning the vent at the dryer end also, which, had the company's rep did so little as look behind the dryer would have found the problem and revealed to us that we were unwittingly venting our dryer directly into our kitchen. I complained to the company and demanded my money back. The kid's supervisor said he would discuss it with him, but the company, the name of which I unfortunately do not recall but you may know, never got back to me or returned the money. I wish I could remember the name of the company so I can be sure never to use them again. If you can provide me the name of the company, I would appreciate it so I might be able to try another dryer vent service company on Anglie's list.

We have been doing business with Senate Termite Control for about 10 years. They always call the day before and leave a note with a report about how everything that was done. We usually check to confirm and it appears that the work is always done well.
