Cockroaches invaded our kitchen this year and termites moved into a stump in our yard. At our 1st meeting with John, we inspected the yard & main floor, then went over our options for a plan to attack. We arranged for a year's worth of termite treatment/protection outside in our very wooded area and began treatment for the roaches covering the kitchen & bathrooms. That day he immediately treated the stump plus a colony of ants that we found outside [whether we would have signed up or not so that was a bonus]. The technicians have been very polite & professional; great communicating when they're arriving, how long the work takes, and explaining any info we need to know about the process. The major Actisol treatment greatly reduced the roach investation. The latest tech Donald sprayed and baited the kitchen again this week and says to just call until they're completely gone. It looks like we're down to the last generation of these invaders thanks to Senate.

Just had 2-week follow up for rodent treatment. Donald was on time. As in previous visit, he was friendly, informative and answered all my questions. Put my mind at ease that there were no further signs of additional rodent activity. Much appreciated!! Called to set up additional follow up and spoke forgot who I spoke with. I called back and spoke to Peggy to find out who I had spoken to earlier, and she was so friendly and helpful Deb was who I spoke to who was so helpful in straightening out my follow-up schedule. Peggy was a real pleasure to speak with, and was very thorough in answering my questions and reconfirmed my scheduled appointments. Senate’s employees are top-notch and I will recommend their services to my neighbors.

They are always truly professional, thorough, and friendly. They took care of my initial request to mitigate some mice, and have followed up for a couple years now. I've had no more recurrence of the mice and consider it well worth the money.

The contact to set up the yearly appointment was professional , exhibiting knowledge about the parameters of the visit. These were confirmed and a date/time agreed to. The technician called prior to arrival and was very courteous in his work with me. He adhered to the previous parameters established. It was a good work session.

I have been a customer of Senate for six years. They handle all Mr insect pest control. We have a deer herd next door in the park so I have them treat my yard for ticks and mosquitos. I have them treat the house for general insects and termite pots. Needless to say I have ZERO insect issues. They are always punctual, professional and it’s nice to know that they keep their agreements keeping my home insect free.

The office personnel and the technician/service person who comes to the house are friendly, professional, and efficient. Appointments are fulfilled on time. There is always a call to verify appointments and an imminent arrival call. The products used to control pests are effective. I am delighted with their service.

I was scheduled to have service performed between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Donald, the technician, arrived promptly at 2:00. He was very courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and offered helpful advice.

Kris, the sales rep, was very knowledgeable, professional, attentive and courteous. I trusted his evaluation of our termite problem. The two techs who treated our house did an excellent job. We had to have our new driveway drilled at the front of our house and the tech did a neat, thorough job. I would recommend this company without question.

I've used Senate Pest Control for Termite Monitoring and Treatment since the 90's. They have always been highly professional and responsive to our household needs. They call ahead and let you know the day they are coming. Yesterday we had our quarterly termite inspection which involves checking monitors placed around the outside of the house. The technician Corey Green was great! I spoke with him regarding the fact that he likely would have trouble finding the stations as they were the cheap surface mounted plastic type held on by a wooden dowel placed in the ground. When mowing, this type of monitor typically gets sucked up and chewed up by the lawnmower/weed whip. I showed him the remnants of the few original flush monitors that were installed back in the 90's and commented that they were the better type as they are flush with the ground. Without asking, Corey went to his truck and pulled out a box of in ground monitors and installed several around the house to replace the missing above ground monitors. Talk about Customer Service! Extremely pleased with Senate and their Technician, Corey Green!

I have been having mouse problems for the past two years and still unable to control it. Anthony came in one visit and found the hole and closed the hole. The other technicians claimed they couldn’t move the appliance to search for the hole but Anthony easily moved the appliance, found the hole and closed it. He also took the initiative of spraying not just the outside areas but also inside for other pests. I am extremely impressed and appreciative of Anthony’s work.

Anthony was genial & thorough. Answered our questions & took good care of an extra-large lot in Chevy Chase DC for mosquito control.

Overall very satisfied with their work and service. They are very responsive when I call them. I have signed up for the quarterly treatment plan. I do wish they would call me before heading out so I could have them do inside treatment as necessary. They just treat and leave the invoice at the door.

The tech was knowledgeable and VERY polite. He did what he had to do in record time while making sure to be thorough.

We were in the middle of a renovation and called in Senate to look at the crawl space for recommendations. Unfortunately, they discovered white powder beetle infestation. Thankfully, they worked with our contractor, came back 2 days later, and took care of the problem.

We are very pleased with the service. We have a large lot with lots of trees. Before Senate we couldn't stay outside in the evenings.

Sales rep arrived on time. Was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. Technician arrived on schedule. He answered all of my questions and had all the tools and materials necessary to complete the work.

The inspector that came by, came a half hour late, was very rude and aggressive. The service they offer sounded great and at a good price. However, due to the interaction we had with the inspector, will not plan to work with this company

I am an out of state landlord who intrusted his property to Senate to monitor and control pests and termites since 2013. Just recently my tenants opened a work order with the property management office. In turn, our property mgmt. office contacted Senate to be informed that we no longer had termite coverage. It expired in 2016 without notification. The estimate we were told included drilling multiple holes into the foundation. However, the technician came out to complete the job he determined a better course of action was to spray instead of drilling. When I called to discuss the price and talked to several people including Nick; I was told they did what needed to be done and the price would not change. They charged me $1,420.00 for a couple of hours of spraying. Nick was very rude and made it clear that he didn’t care whether he kept my business or not.

I signed up with Senate Termite in 2000. I paid somewhere around $3000 to have them place down termite traps and got the $100,000 damage insurance. It was my understanding that I would need to pay $100 every quarter and my protection would continue as long as I owned my home. In 2008, Senate came back and told me the traps I had down needed to be replaced and I needed to pay another $3000+ for this. I was super frustrated and got the salesman to insure that this was the last time they would come back to me for more money and that I would just pay my $100 a quarter going forward. Well... Senate just came back and let me know that I needed another liquid treatment applied for around another $3000 if I wanted to keep my $100,000 damage insurance. I am canceling my contract with them and will shop around. I suggested to Senate that they work with their salespeople to be clear about expected costs with future customers. If you plan to have your house for 10 years or less, I think Senate would be fine since they won't likely come back to ask for more money. I would not recommend signing up with them unless you feel they are very clear about expected future costs. I could go on and on about my frustration with how their story changed in my eyes over time. First it was the traps had to be replaced and paid for again. Now it is the liquid must be reapplied or my insurance lapses. I always felt good about using a local company instead of a National chain, but I can't recommend them.

I am an out of state landlord and it frustrates me when contractors attempt to take advantage because I'm not there to see what's going on. Therefore, I always get more than one quote for services. Anyway, I was contacted by Senate Termite & Pest Control because I requested their free estimate; John Gray, the representative, came the same day and did an initial inspection. Although he was very pushy with his sales pitch, I told him that I would probably go with the one time trapping service for $345.00 and subscribe to the $90.00 quarterly subscription service that he recommended. However, I told him that there was another company coming by and that as a courtesy, I would at least hear their proposal. At this point, John became very rude and unprofessional by stating "I thought you wanted to get rid of the mice!" He went on to say "I can't believe you had me to drive all the way out here, you've got to be kidding me!", then abruptly hung up the phone. By the way, the gentleman from the other company (named same as a grocery store in the area) came that same evening, stated the immaculate condition in which the tenants were maintaining the property and that there was no need for a subscription; as he saw exactly the point where the mice were entering the house. He sealed the entrance, baited the mice inside and outside and guaranteed his work for six months for $295.00. That's a $230.00 savings by simply comparing quotes.
