Description of Work: I got a call from Senate asking for an appointment because my building was 30+ years old and I should be wary of termites, etc. I'm on the Do Not Call list, so was a bit irked that they called me and more irked that I was pushed into setting an appointment. After doing some research, I did talk to the salesman that came over, but was very direct and said I had no intention on signing anything at this time. Eventually he left--I'm not willing to do business with a company who violates the Do Not Call list.

Description of Work: The service person arrived before I did. According to my understanding this was a yearly inspection for termites. The first thing he did was ask where my attic was and proceeded to set up a ladder to inspect the attic. I was told I needed more insulation. He also said there were rodent droppings. He wondered how they got there and then he walked around the outside of the house looking for an entrance for the rodents. He went to the basement and looked at one wall for termites. Then we sat down and he proceeded to try to sell me on more insulation for my attic. I said I thought this was yearly termite inspection. Then he started talking about the different plans for getting rid of termites. I just wanted the yearly inspection.

Description of Work: I called to have them come out for a Termite inspection on a refinance. I also mentioned that I had an ant problem that I needed to have addressed. I was told that they would only service current customers. This is ridiculous! How can I become a current customer if they will not even come out to address my ant problem.

+ -1 moreI did not have any termite problems while using this company's services. I was disappointed about promises that were made when I upgraded from their old trap system to the newer system. At the time I was having an addition put on the house. When the traps were installed they did not account for where the addition would be but I was told by the company that these types of changes were covered and that once the addition was in I should call them to have the trap system adjusted around the changes of my house. Once the addition was finished I did call the company, they sent out a rep, and he said that I would be charged for the changes to the system. Then he tried to sell me on the chemical treatment which would cost about $3000 for the house, plus $75 per quarter. I called Orkin, they did the same work for less than half the cost, their annual charge is lower, and monetary ceiling on their warranty is higher.
Description of Work: This company was responsible for a termite bait/control system installed around my house when I bought the house. Their annual service fee to maintain the traps and check for any infestations was about $75/quarter. After the first year I paid them an additional $800 to upgrade to a new version of trap.
