We couldn't be happier with Preferred Heating. They were extremely professional, from the individual who coordinated the appointment to the technician who came to our home. Our home was previously a rental and the unit had not been serviced in some time. The gentleman who came out was patient and did an excellent and thorough job in examining the unit and explaining the equipment to us.

Preferred gave me the best price out of 5 estimates, they were extremely responsive and pleasant to work with. Once I contracted them, I changed my mind about the location of the AC Unit and asked them to move it to the attic. They turned on a dime and only charged me to install a tray under the unit in the attic. They were able to start within a few days of signing the contract. The installation took longer than expected, but that is not unusual given the age of the house and the challenges of running the system through the attic. There were a couple of bumps and blips, but Bill Drake responded very quickly to fix the issues. They even sent someone out to service a system at our other house while they were installing the new system. I want to specifically recommend Rick Chandler, one of the technicians. You can't find a better, more professional person to work with! He is worth requesting for your job. I am very happy with my new HVAC and highly recommend Preferred for any Heating or Cooling job.

The repairman went the extra yard and came to my home at 9:30 at night, fixed the problem and was very polite.

Came out at the last minute to check a non-functional system when they found out I was pregnant and sweltering. The technician broke a step on the ladder, but they cheerfully came back out and repaired it. Also, they could have told us our system needed major work (we wouldn't have known the difference), but the tech was honest and indicated it was just a door off of the unit due to a recent home inspection - whew! Staff was cheerful and completed work in a timely fashion. Highly recommend.

The technician arrived on time and was extremely professional. He even called prior to his arrival to ensure I was home and the appointment still stood. He took the proper amount of time in evaluating our system, and discovered why the pipes kept freezing up. He made the necessary immediate fixes and provided accurate, understandable information on what could possibly be any other cause of the problem. He made his recommendations without being pushy or bothersome. He also provided us with a written estimate for future repairs if we found it necessary to explore the repairs any further. Thankfully his immediate response prevented us from unnecessarily spending any additional time or money.

Technician called to inform me that he was approximately 13 mins. from my residence. He arrived at 8:26a for an 8:00a appointment. He was very professional. Upon inquiring about the 5% senior discount, the technican, Silvo, gave it to me. I will use this company for future needs.

As I recall, there were no issues with scheduling and they were responsive and worked around my schedule. The technician was very knowledgeable and also taught me a lot about heat pumps. He did find some issues and my home warranty company had us use a different provider.

Got home and noticed that upstairs was extremely hot. Tried to adjust the thermostat, but no luck. Reset the breaker and anything else i could think of, but nothing was working. Checked Angie's list and found good reviews on the service provider. Called them sometime after 4:30 and left a message. One of their technician was in the area and told me he could stop by after he was finished with his current service call. He showed up about half an hour later went over a few things and got the unit running again. Unfortunately it stopped working two days later. So called back and the same technician showed up. He performed more trouble shooting of the system and found an electrical issue in the attic. He corrected the issue and once again we had A/C. The unit has been running without any issues since then. I wasn't charged for the second service call. The technician also recommended to purchase their maintenance coupon available for Angie's list customers. I will be using this vendor again and would recommend them for a similar related issues. Thanks

Scheduling was flexible. Arrived on time. Did a thorough job.

Richard and his assistant arrived within the allotted timeframe and did a multi-point check up on my HVAC. He explained everything he was doing and why. He also advised other options I may want to consider doing and why. Within a few week of this check up, we experienced a problem with our unit. I called Preferred and Richard returned to our residence. He was able to explain what was happening, corrected the problem, and rechecked other areas to ensure there were no other issues. He was very professional and fully explained everything. He also answered any/all questions I asked.

Very nice service man. Did everything necessary and was patiernt showing me how to keep the system levers in the correct positions. Ordered the part for my Air Scrubber and returned to install it when it came into his shop.

I'm actually very impressed with their tech Silvio's work. It is very hard to trust someone in this kind of services. People like me who does not have much knowledge on the mechanism of A/C can be easily fooled. I have been fooled before by few other tech's from other A/C companies. I found Silvio from Preferred was a trustworthy and straightforward person. He went far and beyond to make us understand the issues and gave us few options to fix the issue. This is the first time someone recommended to do my research about the pricing after he gave me the quote which was very impressive.

The tech checked the motor, fan and coolant charge. He diagnosed the problem as an electrical condenser. He replaced it and had us working in about an hour. He was early and called us to check if it would be OK. We were on the way home and we told him what time we would be there. he was there at the same time. Was the work expensive? Yes. All service is expensive today with the taxes, cost of equipment and other costs. It was less that we expected.

Received several quotes for replacing furnace and CAC unit for one zone of our house. After reviewing what was included and discussions with the providers we selected Preffered Heating and Cooling as we believed that, although they did not provide the least expensive quote, they provided the level of service one should expect for a purchase of this magnitude. The estimator, Silvio, was very professional and took the time to answer all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. The installation team was also very professional and provided a very good overview of how the system operated.

Whatever they did for repairs did not work initially but I had them back again and I’ve been very happy with them. Last time, they did a very good job and I was very happy. They are a quality company.

The technicians were on time and very pleasant and knowledgeable, discussing and answering questions regarding every step of the old equipment removal/new equipment installation as any questions arose. It was a very hot day but they worked straight through it. There were some challenges - the new exterior unit was much larger than the old unit, but they managed to install it in essentially the same location as the old unit, thereby allowing complete access to the areas below and around the deck. They added an exterior cut-off switch, now required by building code, that the old compressor unit did not have, and were very considerate in their choice of placement of the cut-off switch box, which I really appreciated. The only complaint I have is that they did not leave the areas completely clean when the job was completed. I found miscellaneous screws and bolts left behind, as well as the remains of other materials used during the installation. It took me only about 10 minutes to clean up after them, I just think they should have been a little more careful in cleaning up after themselves, both inside and out.

The service went well. I paid additional to have them change the entire system. I thought the additional fee was reasonable. The technicians were very professional. They were punctual and I had no issues with scheduling.
