I called to schedule a maintenance check on our heating and cooling systems as we were moving out and going to have renters in the house. A technician called me on a Wednesday or Thursday and set up an appointment for "mid morning" the following Tuesday. By 1:00, no one had shown up or even called. I called the office and was told they would give the technician the message and he would get back to me. I was on a time frame as we were moving in a few weeks, so when I had no call from anyone by 3:00 I called another company who was able to come out and do the work the next day. The technician finally called around 3:30 and said he was running late and could be here in an hour. Since I was already disappointed about the lack of communication, I cancelled the appointment and decided to use the second company I called who was so accommodating. I was very disappointed in the experience as this company seems to have such high ratings on Angie's list. I understand it is the busy season, but a simple phone call in the morning would have prevented me wasting a day waiting around for someone.

Silvio came to the house and did a great job. Nice job explaining the functions and maintenance needs of my system. Great customer service. I will definitely be using this company again (and asking for Silvio by name).

There was no leak found but he replaced tape in places where it may be leaking. From the amount of refrigerant needed last year (2 lbs), he said there is either a very small leak or it could be because we have never had it serviced since the install (at the time it was 4 years old). This year we only needed 10 oz of refrigerant. It was the same guy as last year and he was very courteous and professional. He showed us all of his readings and explained the service in detail. We will use them again and recommend them to our friends and family.

Moved into a new place and leaned the first time we tried to turn on the AC unit that the old unit wasn't functional. Contacted preferred, and had a repairman come by the next day. Since the old unit was 16 years old and sufficiently damaged, they recommended replacing it, and we did. We got the model that was recommended to us, and the installers came on a Saturday, were quick and professional. Very considerate as well, when doing the final paperwork with me, the gentleman wouldn't sit on the couch since he was sweating from the heat outside. Very impressed and will definitely call them again.

We elected to upgrade from a basic unit to a higher efficiency one. Beers suggested an Amana. In discussing cooling requirements they told us why we should not get a larger capacity unit: it would not run long enough to dry the air and we would get mold. They could have sold us the more expensive unite but they didn't. They put the Amana in and found that Amana neglected to tell them it need a Communicating thermostat and furnace! Chandler and Beers order a new, compatible unit and took steps to make us comfortable in the heat. I have been in the computer business since 1962. I know that problems occur. Preferred was not the source of the problem - Amana was. If a company has a problem, what counts is how they handle it. Preferred could not have handled it any better. I used Preferred in the past for minor things. I have found them to be honest and responsible. They have more than earned my business. If there was a rating higher than A, I would give it to them. How about a triple A (AAA)? Oh, all the service men who came out to do the install with Chandler were clean. neat, professional and nice.

The first thing that set this company apart was the responsiveness. I sent a note via Angie's List and I think received a reply around midnight. Although not an emergency, a serviceman was out the next day. Wow. Richard showed up in his truck - everything about him was very professional. The truck was neatly organized, his tools all in order, and he was in a smart uniform. First impressions are everything. I appreciated Richard's patience as I peppered him with questions throughout the service. He took his time, paid attention to detail, and cleaned up the mess. First class. I will stick with Preferred for sure.

Excellent experience from time of booking through actual service. Bought coupon deal on Angie's List for a checkup. Serviceman, Rick, was wonderful....very professional and through. I was with him as he worked and he explained what he was doing, why, and what the findings indicated. Would definitely use them again and can see why they have an A rating.

I had a Big Deal. It worked out very well. I ended up signing a service contract with those folks. They did a good job. I was very pleased with this service.

The experience was really good. The guy was very nice, prompt and explained everything in layman’s terms basically so we thought it was really good. We were having issues with the air conditioning system like we have 2 units, one up stairs and the other downstairs. The upstairs one just stopped working and it was hot up there. He just explained what the issues were and how the manufacturer just install the unit and that need not be the best but economically sufficient. By then it was September so we were like that it was almost fall and it is going to be cold and we did not need it then. Though he gave us two potential solutions based on the cost and we felt that we did not need immediately so I think we put it off. Though he did not do actual work it was like diagnosing the problem but he was good.

Tech did a good job of finding and fixing the problem but I think the charge for the part and labor to install was high. It took about 30 minutes to install the new part and I found the same part on the net for $336.

It worked out very well. The technician was great, friendly and helpful. He fixed the problem. The coupon worked out great. Price and quality were fine. One person came out. He was great. Everything was fine.

I felt like I was in good hands with Preferred. They took the time to talk me through the issue and were very thorough about testing their solutions to the problem. Very prompt with their responses as well.

The service turned out just fine. They came out about a week after we purchased the Big Deal. My husband took care of it as I was not at home. They do excellent work and they come out when they say they are going to come. They were always on time. They give you a call letting you know that they will be there in half-an-hour or fifteen minutes. They were professional. They did everything we requested. I think their price was very fair and the quality of service was very good. He was very kind and courteous.

Each spring we have our air conditioners serviced to make sure they are in tip top shape for the upcoming summer heat. I placed a call to Preferred Heating and Air Conditioning and soon received a call back. I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days. The serviceman called prior to arriving and was on time. He checked out both of our air conditioners to make sure they were in good shape for the summer. He detected a leak and explained to me how the leak started and how it affects our air conditioning, monthly costs, and the longevity of the air conditioner. Everything was explained in terms that a lay person could understand and he answered all of my questions thoroughly. Our air conditioners and heaters are working great and we have had no problems. I would absolutely use Preferred Heating and Air Conditioning again.

It went well. It was a great service. We have to reschedule it because I was at work but they were very ready to come when I was available. They were very professional and knew what they were talking about. They gave recommendations on how to improve the quality of my A/C unit in order to last longer.

They were wonderful. They were prompt. Said they could do it on a Saturday; we were hesitant but they came right on time. They were professional and informative. We were left very impressed.

These guys are great. The furnaces were working intermittently, turns out both thermostats need to be replaced. Repair technician very knowledgable, and provided a lot of additional information about the system. It's great finding a company you can trust!

It went very well. Richard Chandler was the tech. He called when he thought he was going to be late, but still arrived well within the designated time. The recommendation for him changing the thermostat was declined as I had change it out before. Overall Richard represented his company well and look forward to him checking out the AC in the spring.

Excellent, the technician showed up on the same day that I called for service, he was here within an hour. It as extremely cold out and he fixed our furnace right away. I have used the same technician twice and he is always knowledgeable and repairs any issues immediately.

I called Preferred Heating and Cooling because our furnace stop working. The company sent Richard to our home. He was very honest, thorough and answered every question I had. I highly recommend them!

They did show up on time and they did the work professionally. However, they have not provided me with a written report or an invoice. This was a Deal, so I have already paid, but I would still like the invoice for written records and tax records. This is an rental property and they did not leave me, the owner, any information I've requested.

I purchased the Big Deal for $79 for the A/C inspection and the guy said my condenser coil inside my home was dirty because I was using the wrong filter size and that my capacitor was rusted and should probably be replaced. I authorized the work without thinking first, but after looking online for the average rate for these services Preferred was basically inline with what the going rate is, so I didn't feel like I overpaid. Could I have done the work myself and saved some cash? Sure, but without them coming out I wouldn't have known to replace those two things and he did give recommendations on how to order specialized filters that would fit my inside unit perfectly. So far everything is running smoothly.

Exceptional experience from start to finish! I contacted Preferred Heating & Cooling after a bad repair by another company left our heating system extremely noisy. I had considered seeking warranty service but was underwhelmed in general by the previous company and had decided to move on. Richard, from Preferred, showed up on time and was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and conscientious of my home. He gave me a general overview of my heating system as he worked, explaining what he was checking at each step and how my system compared. He located and repaired the noise issue right away and also identified several gas leaks due to improper pipe sealing from the prior repair. Everything was fixed very quickly, and he also modified the cover to the unit so it would fit properly -- something which had been an annoyance since we moved into our home! After completing the job, Richard left me with some recommendations for upgrades to our system. His expert work and low-pressure style are qualities which will make me a repeat customer. I couldn't be happier with the service received today and I look forward to using Preferred Heating & Cooling in the future.
