It went fairly well. They recommended I replace the whole system. They were reluctant on fixing the old system. They really wanted a new system. I would recommend them to others.

This was my first Angie's List experience and it was better than I ever expected. Silvio and his colleague did a great job. I appreciated that I was able to speak to Silvio in advance to explain what needed to be done. They were on time and expeditious and did exactly what needed to be done. I would definitely use his services again and recommend him to others. Best HVAC person I've ever encountered.

Service was not provided, but the customer service and professionalism was fabulous.

I took advantage of an Angie's list offer from a top rated provider. However, I found them unresponsive to requests to make appointments. When I eventually made an appointment the technician arrived on time and did a great job. Subsequent attempts to get service was difficult and took many attempts and missed appointments to: clean the outside AC cooling coils; get a gas leak fixed; final maintenance for heating.

Personable technician that provided excellent customer service: 1) Punctual 2) Immediately diagnosed issue with malfunctioning A/C unit.

On Monday night, The AC was not working. Found out the fan that cools the conderser was not working. Called Prefcool. On Tuesday morning, Richard called me and said, He will be able to come in afternoon. He showed up on time and resolved the issues and also explain what is happening.

They were quick in getting back to me and in scheduling the work quickly. The technician did a great job going through the system and providing multiple recommendations without trying to "sell."

I purchased a brand new unit from Preferred about a year and half ago after they came out to check why my ac unit was not cooling the house, everything was great, the installer was fantastic, very informative and walked me through what i needed and my options. He was a big reason why i went with them for the install, after getting qoutes from Lowes, sears and several other companies. If i thought something was not right they came out to check. Just great.

They were very good and seemed to fix the problem. I did have diagnostic issues, the $69.95 was for diagnostic. I had to pay for labor. They had to come back the next day for the repairs. They did the repairs as soon as the parts came available. I think it was comparable. It seems to be working and they cleaned up after themselves. They came the day after I called and they came when they said they would. I didn't have any problems.

Scheduled for the 9-11 slot so I took the morning off of work. After 11 I called and was told that someone would be by in the afternoon. Sometime probably around 3 I called again and they said someone would be by later. I was told the software messed up. Eventually someone came by late at night, probably around 8 pm or so. It didn't take long for them to confirm what I thought was wrong (bad capacitor). What I didn't expect was the $300 charge to fix it (in addition to the $90 I had already paid! I don't remember the exact price but it was around there). Obviously I said no and found another way to fix it. I understand charging for expertise/knowledge but those prices are ridiculous. The tech who came by was very professional though so there is that I suppose. Note: I held off on the review because I was awaiting the resolution of a pricing dispute. They had a deal advertised online for $70 that was the same as the AngiesList deal. When I brought it up they said the website was wrong but honored the difference ($20). 6 weeks later I got the check.

The technician called ahead of time to give me an approximate time for arrival and was right on time. I had requested the same technician that had worked on our AC the previous summer and was happy to see my request was granted. I used an Angie's List promotion and had both AC units checked out for summer maintenance. The previous summer the technician told me that a part was going to wear out and may last another year. If it wore out, it would need replacing and would not cause any damage to the AC. This summer, he checked it again and I chose to replace it. He had the part on his truck and repaired it. I did not need to schedule another appointment, the work was done immediately. I am the type of consumer that researches everything on You Tube in advance and asks many questions. The technician was very patient and answered all of my questions and even gave me information so that if I wanted to do my own research, I would know where to go. The technician was also very kind to dogs and made sure that the door was closed completely when he went in and out of the house so that my dogs and cats would not get outside. I would absolutely use this company again. They have that old fashioned customer service that is difficult to find these days.

Provider did not show up for scheduled appointment nor did they call to tell us they would not make the appointment. After the appointment time passed, we called and were offered apologies and excuses why the appointment was not met. I completely understand extenuating circumstances but there is no excuse acceptable for not calling us to tell us they could not make the appointment. And then not to even make an effort at making amends for their failing to make their committment - totally unacceptable.

Amazingly prompt and professional service on a very hot day in a very hot attic.

Things started off great with Preferred. They visited a property the day after they were contacted and added freon to the AC. Service went as planned and was provided at a good price. An all around A+ At a different property the experience was somewhat less successful. Basic HVAC service was scheduled however no one showed up. Attempts to contact Preferred go to an answering service rather than to an office so there can be challenges with contacting anyone with actual knowledge. I received a call a few days later apologizing for the mix up and the appointment was rescheduled. The following day, I got a call from my wife saying that Preferred had arrived to replace the HVAC. This service was not requested and, as it turned out, Preferred had mistakenly added my address to someone else's service order. For the requested service, Silvio arrived on time and all went as expected. To address some issues, he suggested the installation of a UV purificaiton system. I purchased an AL deal through Preferred for the suggested system and the service was subsequently scheduled. Unfortunately, a couple of hours before they scheduled to arrive to install the unit, Silvio called to cancel because they were out of stock. He did however come on time the following week and installed the unit. This seems to be a good company that is experiencing some administrative challenges. Absent the administrative and communication issues, I definitely rate them an A.

He was very professional. He did the inspection and maintenance quickly and well and answered all my questions.

A simple air conditioning check and clean-up, all went just fine, and the technicians were extremely polite and helpful. I would certainly use this company again!

I had 4 estimates ranging from $5700.00 to 9000.00, I was tempted to go with the cheapest company(my neighbor had used them). Preferred was the last estimate, by this time I had a little knowledge. Silvio came to check the problem and explained what was needed and I had confidence that what he told me was the truth and the job would be done correctly! The employées who installed my system were professional and very nice . I am happy I went with this company, they checked all my neighbors hook ups and no one had it done properly. My gut feeling was correct, my was done correctly!

I scheduled an appt on 06/13/2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Bill Drake and no one showed, no one called. Very disappointed. I had an appt with another a/c company and cancelled it because I felt Preferred was a better choice. Obviously I was mistaken. As you can see from their feedback, this appears to be the norm. I had hoped given their responses to the negative feedback that it was not the norm but it is apparently so. Don't waste your time with these people.

Our air conditioner stopped functioning yesterday, the hottest day of the year so far. I called a dozen HVAC services this morning to try to get someone to come out. Many of them told me they didn't have openings for several days, while others considered coming out the same day on a weekend to be "emergency" hours, with additional charges accordingly. I spoke with the office staff at Preferred at 8 AM; their technician got in contact with me just before 10 AM, and he told me he could be here at around 12:30 or 1. (He even apologized that it would take that "long"!) He arrived at 1 and got right to work. He verified that I had not lost any Freon and quickly assessed the problem as a blown capacitor. He had the part on hand to replace it, and my air conditioner was up and running 20 minutes later. The diagnostic service is normally $100, but I paid $70 with an Angie's List coupon. The parts and labor for the capacitor replacement were $265. These seemed like reasonable prices based on some quick Web research. The technician was knowledgeable and very courteous. I was particularly pleased that he was able to perform the service call only a few hours after I contacted the home office on a very hot and humid weekend. I would use Preferred's services again and I would recommend them to anyone who needed A/C service!

I selected this company based on its Angie's List A Gold rating and requested an appointment. An appointment was scheduled for the 10 - 12 time slot and confirmed by the general manager; however, no one showed for the appointment. Neither my written request nor phone call were successful in reaching anyone with this company. Only after I posted that I would appreciate an explanation before submitting a review did I receive a call from the technician at almost 6 pm that evening who cited a communication mix-up. To his credit, he offered to come the next day or Saturday. We are not interested in doing business with a company that places so little value on customer service.

I called two weeks ago and left a message with the answering service, and then I called again two days ago. I never received a return call. I wanted to purchase a service agreement and find a company that is dependable. I will find another company.
