Description of Work: I cannot remember the date of service. A hot water heater was installed. Although the installation was correctly accomplished, the quality of the one of the replacement parts was quite inferior. A gate valve rather than a ball valve was installed for an outside spigot. Ball valves are not only more efficient, but much easier to use, making them more desirable. Gate valves are a cheap alternative.

Description of Work: My 5-year old Carrier heat pump & furnace, which Parrish installed, died the day after they did my winter inspection! Naturally, it was JUST out of warranty. They installed a Trane. TWO years later, a HUGE leak occurred in the furnace. I called Snell Heating & Air Conditioning (chosen from Angie's List). They discovered that Parrish hadn't installed an air mover of sufficient capacity--even though my house was adequately wired to handle it. The Trane equipment was still under warranty, but labor was not. I examined my Parrish contract (for the installation of the Trane), and found that they only warranteed their work for a year--even though the equipment is warranteed for 10 years. My system has never run as efficiently as it does now. When Snell recently came to do my winter inspection, the technician was most thorough, changed the filter (which I normally do every month), and added tablets to the furnace pipe to clean it out. (I normally add 1/2 cup vinegar before I first turn on the heat or air conditioning each season.)

+ -1 moreI was not happy with Parrish, because they did not diagnose the problem with my air condoning system correctly. Even after they have removed and replaced my air conditioning system, it still smells like something is burning and my air conditioner is not cooling well. I paid a lot of money for them to fix the problem. I won't be using them again.
Description of Work: I could smell a burning smell coming from my vents and my air conditioning system was not cooling well. I called Parrish and they removed and replaced my air conditioning system.

+ -1 moreThis company was referred to me by the previous owner of my home however I found out that the service agreement did not cover labor. Also, when I did have a problem the person said I needed a part and then went on leave without ordering it. The part did finally did get installed, but only after repeated calls. The problem was fixed but certainly not in a professional manner. After our complaints the President of the Company had told my husband he would make everything right, but he never called back. I canceled the agreement and went with another company.
Description of Work: Parrish Services provided maintenance for my heating and air system. When I called them to fix a problem, they had to order a part and then come back and complete the job.

+ -1 moreWe have used Parrish for 4 or 5 years now and usually are very pleased with them. When they came to check the toilet they did not charge us a dime for the service call as we are preferred customers. They do tend to be a bit pricey though and once they were late although they did call to let us know they would be.
Description of Work: Parrish checked my leaking toilet. We decided not to do anything as we are going to remodel the bathroom soon anyways. We left the toilet as inoperable.

+ -1 moreOur overall feeling with this company is that we are very pleased. We would recommend them to others and will use them again because they were very comfortable to work with. They took a week to finish and cleaned up everything when they were done. They were a little late, but their work was very professional. We didn't have time to research the price because we needed the job done right away, so they were a bit pricey. Still they were worth every penny.
Description of Work: We purchased a new air conditioning unit for our home. Our townhouse is 2200 square feet. The old unit was removed and the company disposed of it. Then they fully installed the new unit.

+ -1 moreThe spread on their appointment windows as offered to us has been six hours. I do not like having to stay home and wait for repair people-don t tell me you will be there between 8 and 2 and not show up until 4. And, clearly, their appointment system is for the convenience of the the business, not the customer. We got repeated phone calls to confirm the scheduled appointments, but could not get a status report when we called to see where we were in the schedule, why they were late, and when they might show up. We had several instances where information was not properly relayed from the front office to the technicians rather important things like we have NO air conditioning or heat at all . Parrish needs to focus more on the customer experience by shortening their appointment windows and improving the communication between the customer, the front office and the technicians. Update 8/10/07: Parrish has been able to identify this account, but has not updated their response.
Description of Work: Two separate visits-replaced A/C unit and added April Air filter the first time, heating unit the 2nd. April Air filter created a persistent buzzing noise that was never resolved. A persistent issue with Parrish services, from our perspective, is their appointment system.

+ -1 moreAfter completing his work the technician told me the upstairs unit had a leak and needed to be replaced. That seemed odd as it was the downstairs unit that was having problems. When asked, he was unable to demonstrate any leak. Further, it became clear that the technician had not bothered to turn either unit on during his inspection. Had I left his recommendation unchallenged I would have spent thousands of dollars for something I didn't need.
Description of Work: A technician came to perform a six-month check on our HVAC systems and investigate a problem that was causing one of them to freeze up.

+ -1 moreVery smoothly. We got an appointment quickly and he arrived on time. He tested the thermostat and saw that it was working alright, then tested the valve and determined that it was faulty. After ordering the right replacement part, he returned and replaced the valve. Have not had any problems with it since the repair. The normal price for this job would have been about $150, but I just paid a $75 deductible, because I have a homeowners policy covering these types of problems with a house.
Description of Work: The contractor was called out to troubleshoot our heating system, because the basement heat zone was running continuously, despite the thermostat being set to either low or off. He determined that we had a faulty zone value, which allowed the heat to run, even though the thermostat was not calling for more heat. He replaced the valve, that solved the problem.
