I had to call several times to get an estimator to come out and estimate the job. Finally, Scott Ewing called me back and scheduled a time to come out and see the job. He took a lot of pictures and notes about what we wanted to do: redesign and renovate a powder room, new oven with water line, counter in laundry room, new cabinetry and granite counters in two bathrooms. He said they were extremely busy, that it would take him two weeks to get me the estimate. He never got back to me. It is now May and we've concluded that they didn't want the job. Based on the great reviews on Angie's List, we felt confident with the company. If the above work went well, we wanted to do a major master bath remodel. Disappointing. Update: We were contacted by Scott Ewing after posting this review and he claimed to have sent an email (more than a month after I began calling them for the estimate) explaining that they did not believe that project was a good fit for their capabilities. We never received this email, but do not rule out the possibility that it got lost on its way to us. In any case, there was only one aspect of the bathroom renovation they were not comfortable with and it is odd that they were not willing to provide a bid on any of the other elements of the job. In any case, we've upgraded the review from an and quot;Fand quot; to a and quot;Cand quot; because its possible that they did try to email us. Nonetheless, our difficulty trying to get an estimate for this job left us with a poor impression of this company.

We looked for a very long time to find just the right contractor to remodel our home. We finally contracted with NVS Remodeling and Design after having seen their work in a friends home who raved about how great they were to work with. We decided that we would start with the kitchen and if that went well would have them do the other areas of the house we also wanted remodeled. That was over two years ago and since then they have remodeled not only the kitchen but also the laundry room, four and half bathrooms(including extensive master bathroom), baseemnt (which included a theater, guest room, bathroom, kitchenette and storage room). The last bathroom was just completed in September 2012. From the initial visit to everyone we came in contact with (including the sub contractors), we discovered a high level of professionalism and a desire to meet our expectations. All of the employees and Glenn are extremely easy to work with and listened to what we wanted. They worked hard to make sure we were happy with each phase. We started with Alison their designer who we found to be both knowledgable and very creative. She helped us to navigate all the possibilities to create the perfect kitchen and bathrooms. Next everyone from NVS met us at our house to walk through what was to be done to make sure the job went smoothly and everything was what we had envisioned. NVS always puts a head carpenter on the job to be there everyday, not only to do the carpentry but to oversee the entire job from start to finish. It's here we met Billy Monteith the head carpenter in chage of our job. We have come to know Billy very well over the last two years he is a very skilled Master Carpenter with a great deal of paitence (necessary with our crasy house full of kids and cats). It was comforting to know that he would be here to work with the sub contraactors, receive deliveries and answer any questions that came up. Our house looks so beautiful now! I love working in the kitchen (never thought I would say that) and the master bathroom is hard to leave. There isn't one person that walks through the house that isn't imressed by the quality of the work. We have referred NVS to others who have also had a great experience and thanked us for the recomendation. You should feel very comfortable knowing you will get top notch service and quality work when you choose NVS Remodeling and design.

The work they performed was absolutely excellent. They completed the work ahead of schedule, always communicated with us, were very professional and we would recommend their work to anyone. Everyone who has seen the work has only had positive comments about the work, open design and the quality of the materials. There is no question we would use them at any point in the future to do additional work for us.
Description of Work: We have used NVS Remodeling at two different homes. In both occassions they completely redesigned our kitchen to optimize the space and to remodel the entire look. The quality of the material and the workmanship was outstanding. They also finished both of our basements. They were unfinished from the builder and the layout was optimal and really utilized the space. Everyone person that worked on the projects worked in a very professional manner, offered suggestions, and used very high quality material throughout the project.

NVS Remodel and Design came to my house to give me some ideas about finishing my basement. We discussed some options. They had some good ideas and presented them to me using CAD software designs for my review. However, they were a touch slow in their response; during the interim I went with another design company which submitted a slightly less expensive quote. NVS would have been my second choice, however. Very nice experience. Based on my short exposure to them, I'd recommend them.

We were at first impressed with the professionalism of the salesman/project manager who gave us the estimate--and we liked the idea of having an established storefront contractor do our work. However, the estimated and quot;leadand quot; time of 3-4 weeks to begin construction became 6 weeks from when we signed the contract, and the estimated construction time of 2-3 weeks became 6 weeks. Some of the delays in the construction came because the project manager did not order materials in time, or because the wrong ones were ordered. Also, when we picked out tile that was supposed to fall into our agreed upon price range, we later learned that the tile samples we were shown were in a higher price bracket. Because it was and quot;onlyand quot; a couple hundred dollars more, we went with the higher priced tile, but this was particularly annoying because we'd been assured that NVS worked with the tile wholesaler all the time and the tile options would be picked out per our preferences and price range. Once construction began, they told us about a week in that they would need to punch through the ceiling under the bathroom floor to drop pipes down. That happened to be in the one room in the house where we could sleep because of various construction projects elsewhere. They did a very nice job building the soffet to hide the pipes, but it was an unexpected disruption that we feel they could have anticipated when the did the site visit prior to beginning construction. The work itself was ok, but for the price we paid we expected near perfection. The wooden frame for the shower was slightly off in places, which meant that the tile work that was overlaid on it is slightly uneven. Also, after the work was done, we noticed a handful of tiles that were either partially chipped or cracked, but were used anyway. We wish we had noticed this before authorizing the final payment, as we would have had them replace those tiles. The workers who came to the house were very nice and professional and we always felt comfortable having them in the house, However, a few times we had to ask them specifically to clean up something (such as something that looked like liquid foam that dripped onto our hard wood floors). It was cleaned up well, but only because we asked. Overall, we are satisfied with the work, but wish the process had been easier and the project less pricey.
Description of Work: NVS remodeled our master bathroom, to include putting in tile over the existing hardwood floor and building a shower.

Dear Member, I regret to hear that your experience with NVS during your recent bathroom remodel did not go as you expected. I have waited several weeks after seeing your review in the hope of speaking to you directly about the issues you have listed. To date, I have not had a response to either my email or phone call. I know this is a busy time of year and hope to hear back from you soon. Since many of our potential clients come to Angie’s List to read reviews about our performance I feel it is important to publicly respond. Our contract with you maintains that the start date of the project would be 4-6 weeks after the date signed. The reason for this is that many of the products we use are custom-made and have a 4-5 week delivery schedule. If this was unclear, I apologize. The only product I am aware of as not being available when needed was the window in the shower area. An addendum to the original contract was drawn up by NVS and was signed by you on May 29th after the project was already underway. Again, I apologize for any miscommunication. The soffit you mention was necessary to run the drain to the new shower location. It is my understanding that you were responsible for having the drain in place before NVS started the job. It appears that we did this portion of the project at no additional cost to you. After talking with our project manager he told me that no one would have known this would be an issue until the existing floor was removed. While we make every attempt to plan our projects, there is always the possibility of finding surprises in older homes. We have built our reputation by handling these unexpected issues swiftly and always with the home owner in mind. In my email and phone call to you, I stated that we would like to replace any tiles that are chipped or cracked. That is never something I would want to see in an NVS project, and I apologize that it was missed by our project manager and lead carpenter. Hopefully you will allow us to come back and take care of this as soon as possible. Even though you have made your final payment this would never change the fact that we would want to ensure the tiles are replaced and that you are thrilled with your new space. NVS has been in business for 26 years and has the reputation of standing behind our projects and building lasting relationships with our clients. I never want to hear someone is anything less than in love with their project and will do all that I can to make this right. We enjoyed working with you, and hope that once we fix the tile issue you will be able to enjoy your new bathroom. I want to thank you for sharing your review. We will use this as an opportunity to evaluate our system and make positive changes. Kind regards, Glen Miracle President, NVS Remodeling & Design

Dear Member, Thank you so much for leaving a report. We truly appreciate it! Kind regards, NVS Remodeling & Design
The entire project was well done, from the first meeting with the project team, to the final project walk-through! Once the specifics and timeline were agreed and coordinated, the project started on time and could not have gone more smoothly. Every aspect of the job was completed with an incredible focus on detail, quality, and professionalism. Every member of our NVS team was personable, courteous, and professional, and they work very well together. We could not have asked for a better group of individuals to come into our home for this project. We enjoyed working with every one of them, and would absolutely recommend them to others. Special kudos to our onsite project manager, Chad, who kept everyone informed and everything moving forward with such a pleasant demeanor and management style. He is a true role model of professionalism.
Description of Work: NVS completely remodeled our master bathroom, deconstructing the original bathroom down to the studs, removing a useless soaking tub, dual sink vanity, walls, mirror, medicine cabinet, exhaust fan, light fixtures, and double entry doors. They rebuilt the room to include enlarged shower stall, beautiful 13" square porcelain tiles on floor and shower, elegant custom double vanity with granite counter top, matching framed beveled mirrors, new light fixtures, built-in storage cabinet, and new single entry door. NVS also upgraded our main level powder room, including new porcelain tile floor and custom wood vanity cabinet with granite counter top.

The value that NVS Remodeling and Design brings to every project is that we are completely in-house, from our showrooms to in-home consultants, designers, production teams, and lead carpenters. There are layers of communication through the different teams that lead to a complete turnkey project (meaning you do not have to be your own general contractor). This value is what has earned us numerous awards and a sterling reputation in the remodeling industry. And while we can compete price-wise with companies that share our working model, we hope that you found the remodeler that best fit your needs. Hope you received a plan you loved & that your job turned out beautifully! Kind regards, NVS Remodeling and Design

From our first consulation meeting to the post construction meeting, NVS was wonderful to work with. They are very professional, sticklers for quality, and very dependable. Of course with the remodel bathrooms from a 60 year old home unexpected issues popped up. NVS always had had a solution and worked with us to solve the problems. The NVS team also had to perform some miraculous patching on some of the bedroom walls, so that even I can't tell where it was done. NVS was fantastice from start to finish. Richard the lead carpenter also made some key suggestions to make our bathrooms look even better. The tile work is amazing in both bathrooms and the plumbing was top notch. NVS did everthing they could to try to keep the rest of the house from getting exposed to all the dust and dirt from construction. NVS started the project on the date that they said they would, and finsihed the bathrooms within their estimated time frame of eight to ten weeks. The price came out to be what was estimated even with a couple of plumbing issues that came up. The workers always showed up on time every day and all were very professional. The quality of the work was wonderful, and as they tell you from the start they will follow up to make sure it is done right. We have a few minor issues that need to be addressed and they have all ready started working on them.We would recommend NVS to anyone. Everyone who comes to our house are amazed by our new bathrooms! NVS is a little more expensive than some of the other contractors, but every penny is worth it and they don't go about nickel and diming you when isuues do pop up. The bathrooms are everything we wanted and the biggest recomendation is that we plan on having them redo our kitchen sometime in the future.
Description of Work: The NVS team remodeled two bathrooms in our 1950's ranch home. Both bathrooms were gutted and taken down to the studs and then fully updated. The end result was amazing.

Whatever problems there were with the company they took care of, but there were so many problems. The tile man who came to put in border tiles placed the tiles so that they did not lay flat and would move. He even felt uncomfortable letting me see the work. They thought adding grout would fix the problem, but it didn't. It had to be removed. Everything overall seemed more labor intensive than it should have been. The wrong sink was installed and they removed it and replaced it, the painting needed to be redone several times. I appreciate the way they redid everything to make it right, but I wish it would have been done correctly the first time. There were just so many things that were done incorrectly. There were issues with spacing, measurements, and everything in the bathroom fitting together correctly and being placed as I had asked. I feel like they did not take the time to plan things out the way they should have. Some of the things that were redone were not even done by the appropriate people the second or third time they were done. The project ended up lasting until January. An independent survey company had me fill out information about thework, and I never heard back from the company even though they knew I was unhappy. The lead carpenter was wonderful, but new in this role. I am hesitant to say anything negative, but want others to be aware of this experience.

From start to finish, NVS was great to work with. Very professional, knowledgeable and dependable. They helped us all along the way from making detail choices (colors, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, etc.) and steered us away from choices we thought we wanted but would not have worked for us. We have really appreciated the fine work NVS did, especially the recommendation to get quartz instead of granite countertops. We didn't know that granite was high maintenance, and that just would not have worked with our busy family. We never give the quartz a second thought because all we have to do is clean it like any other surface, and we don't worry about oil, grease or sticky things getting on it. This is one example of a detail that they really helped us with, and their recommendation made a huge difference for our busy family. We recommend NVS highly. We can say that out of all the contractors we have dealt with, they are hands-down the best! We have been recommending NVS to all our friends. Everyone who comes to our house is amazed by our new kitchen - especially those who knew what our kitchen was before the renovation. Our kitchen is now the nicest space in our house!
Description of Work: NVS renovated our kitchen. Our original kitchen was literally falling apart, and was from 1976. Contractors and a designer from NVS came in, discussed our wants and needs, came up with three different plans from which to choose, and took it from there. They were great to work with, totally professional and offered lots of great advice for even the little details. They finished right on schedule. We got our dream kitchen, thanks to them!

This was obviously an enormous undertaking, filled with a bit of trepidation about the scale of the project. All I can say is that I would hire them to do this all over again in a heartbeat, although next time I would not waste my time with competing bids. They started on the date that they said they would, they finished all of the above work within their estimated time frame (12-16 weeks), and the price that we paid was as estimated. There were minor adjustments that we made to our contract along the way, but that was our choice. What was most impressive is that every single day for 4 months our lead carpenter showed up first thing in the morning, patient and ready to answer any questions, AND EVERY SINGLE SUBCONTRACTOR showed up on the day and time they were supposed to. You name it, drywall, plumber, electrical, roofers, inspectors, tile guys, concrete guys, whoever. It is unheard of. Our lead carpenter ran this job like a well-oiled machine and you could tell that they are all accustomed to working together. They also recommended specific businesses and salespeople for our appliances, tile selection, lighting, flooring, etc. This reduced the anxiety of having to run to every single granite shop or every single tile store or whatever. Moreover, when you had an appointment with one of these folks it was clear that they knew the job was important and you were their priority. My mom was so impressed because we met the flooring guy on a Saturday morning. Despite the fact that several other customers were waiting, he patiently explained that he was in an appointment and would be with them afterward and NEVER rushed us, answering all of our questions and being sure that we had exactly what we needed. This was our consistent experience. The company also commits to the quality of the work and it's clear that they expect their subs to do the same. Our lead carpenter soon learned about my attention to detail and would point out all the ways that he took special care to ensure it was perfect. When there was more than one way to approach something, he asked if I had a preference, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of either approach. If I noticed anything they were quick to fix it, but the vast majority of the time it was perfect the first time. There was one tricky issue with our curved island and getting a nice-looking wood finish that would give it a 'custom' cabinet look - our lead carpenter tried several products before finding the perfect solution. And, any mishaps with the subcontractors they handled without involving us or passing on any incurred cost. We installed exotic granite in the kitchen. The installers, on two separate occasions, broke two large pieces of the stone. I don't know who ended up paying for it in the end, but they never got me involved and I never saw what was surely thousands of dollars in cost that someone had to account for. I've talked to many, many people in the past year who were doing renovations. They stare at me incredulously when I tell them of my experience. Some of them are still in the process of their home renovations, although they started before us. Surely, anytime one embarks on this kind of project (living in the basement without a kitchen for 14 weeks) there are hassles. And, the choices and list of decisions can be quite overwhelming. Given all of this, it was really important to us not to have to deal with the unnecessary, but all too common, issues of frustration with your builder. I'm sure that it could have been done more cheaply. But, in this case, you get what you pay for and I would do this again without hesitation. The final product is positively stunning and we are enjoying every minute of living in our new home.
Description of Work: NVS Remodeling and Design essentially remodeled our entire house. We put on a main level addition at the back of our kitchen and dining room, which involved removing all interior walls for the kitchen, living, and dining rooms; essentially gutting the entire floor and starting anew. This addition has a vaulted ceiling and two skylights. Obviously, full kitchen remodel was involved. We put on a 2nd story cantilever addition as well, also in the back of the house, which involved complete remodel of our MA bedroom and MA bathroom. As part of the work we replaced the roof, all siding, the deck, and the concrete patio. We also gutted the other two existing bathrooms and redid those. New flooring - carpet and hardwood - was installed throughout and we added some lighting to the family room (on yet another level).

Dear Member, We cannot thank you enough for choosing NVS. This project was a huge undertaking, and is now a shining star in our portfolios - what a transformation! You were such a joy to work for - we think Milton wishes the project had never ended. Thank you for all your kind comments about NVS. We truly appreciate them. Kind regards, NVS Remodeling & Design
I had a great experience with all 3 projects. I was looking for a company with a good reputation, performed quality work, help with the design and alternatives, and would manage the project to high standards from beginning to end. My decision to use NVS was based on best value and not price alone. The most important thing to me was that we were happy with the end results, would enjoy it for many years, and did not regret any decisions we made just to save a few dollars. After 4 years, I can honestly say that I met my objective. I have not had any problems and NVS still answers my questions today which speaks to their customer service. For all 3 projects we had a general idea of what we wanted. NVS worked with us to get to the final design. I found this was the best approach because they were knowledgable about all the new things on the market (which we were not). They provided us alternatives, recommendations, pro/cons from usability, maintenance etc. Eventually we had a CAD drawing /parts list so we could visualize the final product. NVS provided us a lead and quot;craftsmanand quot; who was always prompt and avaliable through the day. The lead craftsman performed the majority of the work and coordinated all the trades (NVS vetted subs) and required inspections. He made sure that all the trades were done correctly to his standards because he felt responsible for the end result. I would usually talk to the lead craftsman each morning prior to going to work. We would discuss the previous days work and any decisions that might have to be made that day. These are the little things that happen behind the scenes when you actually do the work. I'm not a fan of surprises and this worked really well for me throughout the projects. I think it is important to note that all floors were covered, walls protected when required, and everything was cleaned up and tidy at the end of each day. The actual schedule was pretty close to proposed schedule. When the project was compete they did a general house cleaning and resolved all items on the puch lists. I would use NVS again without hesitation. I highly recommend them if you are looking for best value like myself.

Our experience with NVS Kitchen and Bath has been the absolute worst commercial experience of our lives! After NVS provided shoddy workmanship and defective products, the NVS president proposed that we accept the project as is, that NVS keep all the money, we give up the credits that NVS owes us, we waive the warranty for workmanship, and we waive our right to express our opinions about NVS’ conduct of the project (such as to Angie’s List). Of course, we said “no.” My wife and I contracted with NVS in January 2011 to remodel our two small bathrooms and powder room. We contracted with NVS based on its reputation and the work NVS did on my brother’s kitchen, even though NVS’ price was significantly higher than others. Our project started in May. Even though we complained to the project manager about many obvious problems as the work progressed, the project manager didn’t come to inspect the work. When the project dragged on past the scheduled completion date, we had to leave for our son’s wedding. We let NVS continue working, thinking NVS would correct the problems while we were gone. We were wrong. In July, the carpenter announced he had completed the project. We examined the bathrooms and powder room in disbelief – vanity tops chipped, wrong mirrors and frames, misaligned drawers, bubbles in the paint, permanent black marks on the bath tub, scratches on the vanities, sloppy caulking and sealant application, doors not hung properly, joint tape coming loose, grab bars not installed, splashboards not flush with vanity top, crooked faucets, drains not installed properly, and many others. All together, we had 78 items on our punch list. NVS agreed that the defective items would either be replaced or corrected or we would receive credit. However, most of the items were not corrected and NVS would not give us any credits. We complained to the NVS president, Glen Miracle. He sent over another carpenter who fixed some of the cosmetic items, but he did not tackle any of the major problems that would cost real money. Then NVS demanded the final payment before they would complete the corrections. After about a month of discussions, we relented and paid the final amount based on the president’s personal assurance. The carpenter returned, worked two more days fixing cosmetic items, then he left, never to return. And Mr. Miracle has refused to talk to us since. Nine months after the beginning of the remodeling, we still have unfinished work and defective products. The NVS president refuses to answer our telephone calls or respond to our emails; he refuses to discuss completing our job. NVS walked out of the contract once it got our money. We have photos of NVS’ work that we can provide upon request to help Angie’s List members decide whether they want to contract with NVS. UPDATE This is a follow-up to my January 26, 2012, review. NVS offered $2,500 to my wife and me to take down our negative review. Apparently, NVS doesn't want Angie’s List members to know what a poor job they did on our house. We have not accepted the $2,500 because we think Angie’s List members deserve to know about NVS’ work and the kind of company it is.

First, we regret that this project did not meet the expectations of the client nor did our continued efforts to try and resolve this in a professional and equitable manner. We have spent literally over 100 hours trying to find a solution – with the client, with the Angie’s List team, with the BBB, etc. Second, we always will respect our client’s right to share their opinion. In fact, we encourage it, whether it is positive like the other hundred or so posted here on Angie’s List, or if there were concerns. We do not profess to be perfect and openly acknowledge there were some concerns on this project; however, we proactively attempted to take care of them as we have for all our clients for nearly 30 years. As previously noted, we welcome feedback and try to implement constructive criticism in our “lessons learned” processes, however, cannot allow libelous comments to go unanswered and must make sure that the facts of the matter are clear. We have provided written hard copies of all the items in question, all billing statements, all payment records, all credits / debits due, e-mail strings, pictures, etc. to everyone including management at Angie’s List. For the record, below is a partial list of false statements and additional facts – Note: Angie’s List policy does not allow them to remove a post such as this, even when documentation may warrant it. • NVS never abandoned the project or client. • NVS never demanded final payment. • Final payment has actually NEVER been received (Angie’s List has all documentation). • Our President did not refuse to take calls or respond to e-mails. • NVS actively worked with Angie’s List and the BBB over several months, providing various options and offers, none of which were accepted. Both the Angie’s List team and the BBB stated they had not experienced a situation such as this, nor have we. • Assessments shared by those acting as liaisons were that it appeared there was nothing NVS could do to satisfy this client. It is unfortunate and we’re truly apologetic that this project did go exactly as envisioned. Though we were hopeful we could find common ground, to date nothing offered has been accepted. Angie’s List and the BBB have for all intents and purposes put this to rest, as it appears we too will have to do. Thank you for taking the time to review our posts and read this response! As everyone knows there are always two sides to a story. We respectfully ask that if you are looking for a reputable licensed Class A company to partner with that we have the opportunity to earn your trust and business. We’d value the chance to discuss your project and will gladly offer decades of testimonials and reference for peace of mind. Regards, NVS Remodeling & Design

I enjoyed talking with the salesman but would have appreciated talking with the designer when they did not supply a plan we liked. We choose not to use them.
Description of Work: I enjoyed talking with NVS about the job we wanted to do. I thought they were very professional and had many resources. I did not like the plan they had for the bathroom part of the remodel and they were not readily open to redesign it the way I wanted it. Their price was extremely high (20,000 above the lowest price we got and 10,000above the bid we went with.

Although NVS was not the least expensive quote I recieved, I'm glad that I chose them. I purchased a short-sale home which needed significant work before I could move in -- NVS was professional and helpful throughout the process. I may have been more involved with the project than is normal - buying a lot of fixtures and hardware on my own (and I did make sure everything was available on site when needed) -- but this didn't phase them -- and I am extremely happy with the result. I came to NVS with a kitchen design in mind and they helped me make sure it was practical in terms of clearance, plumbing and other issues. Beth was a joy to work with - I custom ordered painted cabinets color -- and although this added a little time -- I also had a sample cabinet door to take with me when I was looking for granite. The guys on site were polite and cleaned up -- my job was supervised by Billy and I can't say enough nice things about him, his knowledge and ability to make small changes/fixes throughout the job. I had the entire house painted (interior) and they scheduled the painter to come back for touchups after significant work (without me requesting it). Gary the tile guy -- may have taken a little longer than expected -- but the tile work is beautiful and the stone around the fireplace looks fabulous. The story that means the most to me is when the job was completed, Glen (one of the owners) came by to have a look and the work and didn't like the amount of open space above the refridgerator -- Billy came by that afternoon and installed an extra piece to close down the space -- it was a design issue that I hadn't noticed -- but it certainly looks better now. If there is any complaint it would be a lack of communcation on the part of my contract manager. There was a lag between contract signing and start of work -- during which, I fully understand they were schduling this job and others, I did not hear from NVS. Once Billy was on-site and working all my communication was through him and very good. The contract manager did get involved one more time for a change order - and that didn't work that well either -- I would prefer to hear about potential change costs before the work is done. The only other change order was handled by Billy -- he showed me the problem, discussed the solution, I was provided and estimate and I approved and paid it right away.
Description of Work: Total remodel of kitchen - removal of wall, flooring, cabinets, appliances followed by new floor installation, new cabinets, reworking of electrics including installing recesed lighting, painting, wallpapering, tiling. Replaced deck with composite. Various repair work on the exterior of the house - replace front porch and porch roof and replacement of other rotting woodwork. Painted entire interior of house. Replaced entryway floor with stone and glass tiles Redid fireplace - replaced ductwork, drywall, installed stone on both sides (two sided fireplace)

I love dealing with Beth Webber at NVS. Their initial estimates for just the labor of the electrical and plumbing work was $3000. Then they raised the price for the work to $5701. I was floored with this almost doubling in price. Beth told me that she was going to talk to him to lowering the price. I really do want them to do the work, and I know that the project is quite labor-intensive. However, I'm not sure if I will if they do not lower their price.
Description of Work: I'm remodeling 2 bathrooms. The guest bathroom is getting new vanity, granite counter tops, hardware, faucets, and an under-mount sink. The master bathroom is getting a lot of work done to it. I have bought materials directly from faucetdirect.com.

I am fairly neutral with them, they just wern't what we were looking for. They weren't very original I guess. They seemed fixated on using only the cabinets they had in house. They only stuck to their cabinetry and didn't go beyond their options. We flipped through their photos and there wasn't anything we liked. It wasn't a fault of theirs, it's just what they do, if someone was looking for something more traditional then they would be good.

While the work they did was good, they seemed put out by the fact that the job I had for them was a smaller one. It was way overly expensive and the attitude was condicending, a combination of which would keep me from going back to them, no matter the kind of job they did.
Description of Work: After demo-ing two bathrooms by myself, I hired this company to come in and finish the job, installing shower, drywall, sub floor, and tile.

.Unfortunately they were little high priced. So I ended up getting someone else. Other than that they came out and gave the estimate just the pricing was a little more than what I could afford. They gave me the estimate within 48 hours. I set up an appointment the gentleman showed up and some else had to come from his organisation. So they were quick in responding. I was having major renovation done and their quote was for $40000. Their price was more expensive. I just went with a better pricing and more service.

We have used NVSKB twice and think the quality and the follow up for problems is good.
Description of Work: We replaced the cabinets and countertops in our kitchen and added a wine refrigerator and TV. We kept the overall landscape in the kitchen to include our backsplash tile and venetian plaster. In addition we replaced the sink and tile in our powder room. All cabinets from NVSKB were top grade as well as the new granite countertops.
