If you want a company that will (a) not provide any type of design expertise (b) be completely sloppy with your project and (c) take no responsibility the second they have your money, this is the company for you. Absolutely horrible experience start to finish. We placed a $7k order for cabinets which included wall cabinets on either side of glass shelves above a bar. They came to measure and we told their employee multiple times we wanted glass doors on the cabinet (which they should have known anyway because it was for glassware over a bar). The guy didn't write anything down. We asked repeatedly for the details of the order and all they sent us was manufacturer codes which we couldn't tell anything from. We paid half up front, half on delivery. The cabinets arrived with wood doors. We called and they told us go ahead and pay for the order and they would fix it so we paid the second half by credit card. We have now spent three weeks trying to get them to provide the glass doors we ordered. They screwed it up, told us they would fix it to get us to pay, then have refused to make it right. And they have been aggressively unpleasant the entire time. I would burn my house to the ground before dealing with this firm again.

NVS did exceptional work- in every way. This was a big project. Dawn Parker was our designer & Dave Pacassi was our salesman. They guided us through the process with patience. Dawn designed an addition & kitchen that works amazingly well for our family. Dave worked with us - helping us make choices that worked within our budget. They pointed out the pros & cons of each choice. Chuck Johncox was our Project Manager. Tad was our lead carpenter. He talked with us each day so we were aware of what was being done daily and what the schedule was. Having one person to be the point person we talked with daily gave us a sense of security that all was moving along. The work was done on schedule. We were thrilled with the result. We cannot thank NVS for everything they did.

NVS did a major renovation in the summer of 2016. It went so well we hired them in the fall of 2017 to to complete the home beautification process. Dawn Parker was our designer & sales consultant. She designed the deck and guided us in choosing materials for all the other projects that worked well with the 1st renovation. The deck off the family room is just beautiful. Casey Saunders was our Project Manager. Casey went above & beyond in making sure everything was done to our satisfaction. So, so happy with our "new" home!!

Very smoothly. Dave was a great salesman to work with and Casey was a great project manager. They were in and out in 3 weeks as they had told us and were responsive to whenever we asked a question. Their subcontractors were all great too. You pay a little premium for their services, but it's well worth it.

NVS is a fantastic company! We looked at six companies and met with three before selecting them for our project. This three-month project went very smoothly and we had amazing interest and day-to-day support from the company’s executives and owner. Plus, the NVS model is to keep an NVS lead on the job-site at all times providing a single point of contact to work with. NVS was very accommodating during the design process and worked with us to get what we wanted in a beautiful design. All changes during the project were handled quickly and always to our satisfaction. I can say with absolute confidence the most critical ingredient to a successful remodeling project is the selection of your prime contractor and the people who make up NVS are absolutely top-notch, they care, they will take an active interest in your project and in helping YOU get what YOU want! They have my highest recommendation.
Description of Work: The project included renovating and adding an addition to the kitchen, and renovating three bathrooms: the master and hall baths and the powder room. Also, the wood flooring was refinished throughout and new windows were installed.

Our experience with NVS Remodeling and Design was nothing short of amazing from beginning to end. From the moment we met our consultant to the date of completion, the journey has been the best experience we have had with a remodeling and design company. NVS was not only creative, reliable and professional but they showed such a commitment to detail that we knew we would recommend them and only them for referrals. We are overwhelmed and impressed with everything NVS has done for us.

We selected NVS for our kitchen addition/remodel, master bathroom and entire main level flooring. After doing a lot of online prescreening of design build firms, I had selected 4 firms to come out. They were the only firm that came out with a designer, took detailed measurements and several pictures on their first visit. Within a few days I received a handwritten note from Chris, our NVS rep, thanking us for letting them come out. They were not pushy or “salesy” in trying to get our business but subtly kept the ball rolling by following up with us a week later and then again the following week with an invitation to their showroom to see some preliminary high level designs of our kitchen and bath. We hadn’t even signed or paid a dime. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for the other firms to follow up. By the time they followed up, I already felt very attached with NVS. They matched us up with their architect designer, Dawn. She was so patient with me and was able to draw out of me what I was looking for. We went through 3 or 4 drafts to get it perfect and she nailed it! She really knows her stuff. Once the work was to actually begin, we were matched up with lead carpenter, Paul. We loved him! He put up a plastic barrier (with a zip up/down “door”) to keep the dust out of the living areas as much as possible. He arrived on time, kept the subs on schedule and asked me about all those little details that I hadn’t even thought of BEFORE actually installing certain items. He worked with me on laying out our shower tile on my bedroom floor first to make sure the tile variation looked good (his idea). He cleaned up at every days end. Our project came out beautiful and on budget. They estimated 10 weeks but it took 12 weeks due to a fabrication issue with the bathroom granite that set it back. I would HIGHLY recommend them. They may not be flashy or the cheapest but I wouldn’t trust my project to anyone else. Five Stars!

NVS was recommended to us by several co-workers. We were not disappointed. Their customer service and workmanship were exceptional. We are very happy with our beautiful kitchen and would highly recommend them. In budget, on time and making the customer happy are priorities for NVS. They have been wonderful returning to our home to touch up any areas that we wanted once the project was completed. We were given phone numbers for each employee that we dealt with so that we could make personal contact if needed. We would definitely use NVS again.

This company was the best! After having a bad experience with a prior contractor, I was apprehensive about going forward with our project - but Glen Miracle and his team could not have been better. The project from the start was done professional; on time; and under budget. All of our questions were answered promptly and the work was held to a high standard. We are thrilled with the end product.

We are very happy with the work. NVS worked closely with us in the design of the rooms. They took the time to understand what we wanted and what we liked. They referred us to several tile, appliance and granite dealers who they worked closely with. But we had options on which ones to go with. Upon signing the contract they brought in all the trades to ensure there were no surprises in the construction. We were given a construction calendar that tied payment to construction progress. They kept to the calendar and had a key employee on site all the time to oversee the tradesmen. All the work was top quality. They identified potential issues and fixed them before we had the opportunity to point them out. They were perfectionists. They consulted with us whenever there was a question. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and took precautions to protect floors and rooms not involved in the work. The house was livable during the construction. When the work was done, they brought in a maid service to remove the dust that had accumulated. There are less expensive contractors. But the lack of problems and the quality of work was well worth it. We have endured low bid contractors in the past. That made the experience with NVS all the better. We would definitely recommend them and even use them again.

I can't say enough good things about NVS. They were extremely tolerant of our schedule. The craftsmanship was superior. They stayed on schedule as much as the weather would allow and only went off schedule because the city inspection office closed. Our lead on the project was Mick and he was simply the best! He was ready to go everyday at the agreed time and kept me informed about everything. Always willing to explain how things worked and what would happen next. When there was a misunderstanding he was quick to make everything right. All of the workmen were polite and professional, always treating my family and my home with respect. We have a managery of animals and the guys were all very tolerant of them including our aggressively friendly Golden Retriever. My bathrooms are beautiful. They were worth every penny.
Description of Work: NVS replace two shower/bath custom areas with all new modern tile and fixtures of my choice. They removed two old tubs and replaced one with a bubble tub and the other with a bench shower. In addition they repaired a vent over the stove/microwave that the previous home owner had botched the DIY. The outside air was just rushing into the house. After one day, it was fixed!

We needed to remodel a 1950s leaking bathroom. We selected NVS because of their proximity to us and we were impressed by their design team. I had an idea of what I wanted the bathroom to look like and the color scheme, but I definitely wanted design help. I had been through two remodeling projects and had successfully chosen colors and materials on my own, but it was time-consuming and confusing. This time, we spent the extra money to hire their design team, Christie Doebel and James Denney. Christie was the design & color person and James gave us a construction perspective as to what could be done to create the bathroom we wanted. They really helped us to stay in budget and narrowed down materials to what would work the best and offered some really great ideas. Both James and Christie were great. I went through what I wanted with Christie and found some pictures to show her. She really did grasp what I was looking for. She narrowed the materials down to several options which were right on the mark and within budget. I met with her several times to check on colors and materials. We also went together to showrooms to pick out materials and see what other items might be available. She really listened to what I did and didn't like. When the wrong granite was installed, she looked into it right away, and drove me down to the showroom to pick out a new piece and took care of the whole issue immediately. I can't sing her praises enough. There were a few small issues that popped up along the way, such as a roof leak that was discovered, but they took care of that. There were just a couple setbacks such as the wrong tub was shipped, and we had to wait a week for that. The problems that popped up were not NVS' fault, but they took care of the problems right away. Altogether, the project took about 3months, but half of that was design time and choosing materials. They took care of any permits and we have a one year warranty. We had the same project coordinator the entire time who took care of the whole remodel on site. He was really good at keeping us informed as to what was happening next. When he was ill, NVS stepped in to finish up what needed to be done. The tile people did a beautiful job and we have a gorgeous and functional bathroom!

Thank you for sharing your experience with NVS Remodeling during your recent kitchen project. It was a pleasure working with you from the initial consultation all the way through to the post construction meeting. Your kitchen turned out beautifully. Also, thank you for allowing us to show your kitchen during our Open House several weeks ago. This is a great way for your neighbors to get ideas for what they might do with their kitchen, and it is an awesome way for NVS to show off our work. Keep us in mind for your next project—we would love to work with you again. Sincerely, Glen Miracle, President

Probably the most valuable factor in using them is that they LISTEN. Many remodelers that we considered had a cookie cutter approach to their modeling of a space. The work was performed as scheduled, done professionally, considerate and follow-up was non-intrusive and courteous. We love our kitchen and most visitors to our home comment on how great it looks.

NVS is a wonderful company to work with. They have been exceptionally responsive and professional. Although the project took longer than expected they continued to work until is was completed to our satisfaction. The project manager was onsite almost every day. If he wasn't here, he was just a text message or phone call away. The owner of the company was out several times and even cleaned up after the work crew one day! The kitchen and laundry/pantry addition part of the project went very smoothly. NVS correctly insisted that all of our cabinets were in their warehouse; appliances; counter tops; backsplash and flooring all be ordered before starting so there was no delay waiting for anything. There was a direct plan from the beginning. Alison the designer was a tremendous help. Due to the addition, the patio below needed to be removed. This required the removal of 13 dump trucks of dirt! The original subcontractor for the patio backed out before the job was started and a replacement was found. This 2nd subcontractor was the only negative in the entire job. (NVS will not use this contractor again). He left equipment and trash on the job site and worked sporadically. NVS finally had to give him a 48 hour deadline to finish the job and remove his equipment. He did. The patio turned out nicely overall. NVS completed this project in November 2014 but has returned several times for minor repairs. The original kitchen was 9' x 9', where there was room for one person. The remodel changed the whole style of our home! It is now a place our whole family enjoys gathering. I actually enjoy cooking, entertaining and sharing the kitchen with others for the first time in 20 years! I still love the kitchen and whole remodel. I wouldn't change a thing! Thank you NVS!! We would work happily with NVS again.

Thank you for putting your trust in NVS for your kitchen addition project. Wow—it is really beautiful! On a project this size there are always going to be challenges and some surprises. Our goal for the past 28 years has always been to minimize these challenges/surprises as much as possible and not make life more difficult for our clients during the project. During your project we had more challenges than we normally encounter—sometimes things just work out that way. But the amazing thing to me was that you handled these challenges better than we did. I could only wish I would be as understanding and positive if my house was torn apart for a long period of time as you were. Our team really enjoyed working with you during the project, and I personally want to thank you for being so understanding and for being so easy to work for. Also thank you for referring your neighbor to NVS—that really means a lot to us. We will be starting their project in the next month or so. Sincerely, Glen Miracle, President

We initially sought 3 Bids for the effort. 2 of the 3 Bids came in w/thin a couple of thousand dollars and the 3rd was very high. We met with the two contractors that submitted what we felt were close in their proposed cost and reviewed the details, made a couple of changes and requested a final bid. One thing that stood out from the very start -was a concern that NVS highlighted with the existing Skylight in the main kitchen area, due to the pitch of the new roof for the addition; no issue was noted by the other contractor. The 2nd issue that was highlighted by NVS was the structural support -and after discussing the pros and cons of the approach that we had originally desired -we opted for treated posts; here again there was no mention of possible code impact or a discussion of the issue -all was fine with the other contractor. After reviewing all related input -to include the fact that NVS had built our Sun Room Addition approximately twenty years back, which we enjoy very much, we signed a contract with NVS in May of 2013 with a desired start date in July and completion nlt mid November. Access to the back yard was a big challenge as it was only available from the left side of the house with very limited room to maneuver. That meant that all materials -both from the demo and for the new building had to be hand carried with extreme caution to avoid damage to the side of the house and the Sun Room -and Hot Tub. The team demo'd the existing decks off the back of the old kitchen area and meticulously moved the waste to the street dumpster and synchronized the new material to match their schedule -thus avoiding a logistical nightmare. The weather was HOT -yet each crew member worked tirelessly to dig the holes for the support beams etc. and to get the framing in place for the addition and the new 18x26' (approx) deck. The original deck plans were modified to line up the right side of the deck with the retaining wall, create a stoop like platform to exit the kitchen and tie in the entire back deck areas and place the steps to the back yard, more in line with the original steps -as opposed to coming off the new deck. In the mean time, work started on the inside with the electrical, adding a canned light in the old kitchen, installing the gas line for the stove, etc and exposing the wall -in prep for the opening. The team covered the inside with plastic wherever possible to protect the furniture, stop the dust -and ultimately help with the cold air when fall came -to include placed protective cover over the hardwood flooring. During the build process Mr. Glen Miracle, President of NVS, Mr. John Monteith, Director of Production, and Mr. Jeff Breeding, our Project Manager -insured that every detail was IAW the drawings and or adjustments in the design were made as agreed to. Sure enough -the existing Kitchen Skylight became a significant issue. Mr. Monteith reviewed the situation with us and collectively we felt that moving the skylight upwards a few inches and changing the pitch of the new roof by a couple of inches would allow us to retain the Skylight, which was a key requirement. Ultimately, Mr. Miracle and Mr. Jeff Breeding -made it happen! The HVAC firm updated the size of the furnace exhaust vent and relocated it -to meet code. The initial placement of the vent pipe on the roof was not satisfactory. We discussed the issue with Mr. Breeding and Mr. Miracle and within a couple of days the vent was relocated and practically out of sight. We also encountered an issue with the new windows -for whatever reason they were provided without the Safety Locks as originally requested. Mr. Monteith addressed the issue and the window company shipped new Sashes within a few weeks and Mr. Breeding installed them. NVS also installed Hard Wood Flooring to match the existing Kitchen -etc. I would also like to highlight the fact that Mr. Breeding cut and installed the Cherry Wood Beam in the Addition, which really ties the entire space together with the existing Cabinetry in the main kitchen area. We are extremely pleased with the entire project and enjoy the new space. Issues are pointed out -to reflect the fact that NVS resolved them and or provided a solution without a hassle. NVS' Warranty included a Post Completion 6 month check/repair and a 12 month check and repair, which we have taken advantage of to address minor settlement issues. All in All -the total project was on schedule, within budget (which included two Changes for Upgrades that we requested) and completed in a very professional manner. I highly recommend NVS -and would like to acknowledge their honesty, integrity and professionalism to include their desire to meet and or exceed one's expectations, which I believe is the hallmark of Mr. Miracle and his NVS Team.
Description of Work: Removed existing Deck(s) from the back of the house. Thank you for taking the time to post a review of the experience you had recently with my company NVS Remodeling & Design. I wanted to let you know that it was a pleasure to work with you and your wife again—it is hard to believe that it was 20 years ago that we worked together to build the first sun room addition off the back of your home. Time flies by and everyone seems so busy that sometime we forget to have some fun in life and in our work. It was really fun being involved in your second sunroom addition. I truly wished I could turn back the years to a time when I was on the job sites most of the time like I was 20 years ago instead of in an office. Your project allowed me to get back out on a project and see how we were doing with our process and how our clients felt about it. I know it is difficult having your home torn up for a long period of time and having people traipsing through the work site, but you two were so easy to work with. My team including myself couldn’t wait to get started each morning and see what we could get accomplished each day. You made the process so much easier by making decision in a timely manner and always being willing to discuss issues in a professional way. Thank you for putting your trust again in NVS—you made the project all lot of fun. Sincerely, Glen Miracle, President

The experience has been atrocious. I would never use them again for any reason. The quality of the cabinetry is awful--they came in different shades of colors and were still installed this way. When we pointed it out to NVS, they told us that they would order new sets of cabinet doors or faces for drawers but that b/c it was a different batch, it would be a different shade anyway. Well…good customer service would have just replaced them all in one order since it was such a drastic difference. The installation was horrendous. Not only did they strip the wood, one of the owners of the company told us to put toothpicks and wood glue in the hole and re-drill to get the original nail to be held secure so that the cabinet doors wouldn't fall off the frames. Additionally, there were about 4 drawers that were installed incorrectly and either didn't shut fully or were visibly crooked. We've had them out to and quot;fixand quot; these issues no less than 4 times over the course of a year and each time we had to reach out to them (it took WEEKS for a response) and we still have drawers that do not close properly. Do NOT use this company. Once the product is sold and implemented in your home, they could care less. They have their money from you and they move right on to the next person. So disappointing.
Description of Work: They provided the cabinetry for our new home.

“Highly Recommended” for a job well done on the renovation of our home is all we have to say about NVS Kitchen and Bath. Saying that it was the best decision we made in hiring NVS is an understatement. After attending multiple home shows and talking to many remodelers we settled on three out of the dozen we talked to, and invited them to give us an estimate. The first salesperson sat in our kitchen, asked us some questions, looked around then said it would cost about XXXXXX much, we asked how he came up with that number and he said it was based on similar jobs they have done in the past, then he whipped out a contract and wanted around $5000 to start the design process. We said “Hold on” as we were not ready to sign anything since he was the first salesperson to give us a quote. Next up was Scott Ewing from NVS who sat down, asked us questions, then measured the space and took pictures. He did not produce a contract but said he would get back to us within the week with a rough design and cost. A few days later Scott got in touch and mailed us the preliminary design and a quote for the job. It was pretty close to the first estimate but at least we knew what we were getting in terms of the design, cabinets, fixtures and quality of materials to be used on the renovation. My wife and I were impressed with Scott and his knowledge on design and remodeling, so much, that after reviewing the design and proposal, we decided to continue the design process with NVS. Over the next 5-6 weeks we drove out to the NVS showroom in Manassas multiple times to meet with Scott and look at what NVS had to offer. The designer, Dawn, was also there and was a huge help in selecting the cabinets, hardware, and fixtures while we tweaked the design. During the design process Scott said he would come by the house but we preferred going to the showroom. The NVS showroom has at least a dozen kitchen and several bath displays as well as a large variety of cabinets, hardware, and granite on display. Viewing the displays and samples allowed us to tweak our design to get exactly what we wanted. This was not a small renovation. It was scheduled for 5 months and the NVS team made it happen. Everyone from NVS was considerate of my property and made sure that whatever was done met our expectations. Even their partners made sure we were happy with the job they were doing or had completed. John, the Project Manager, was a wealth of knowledge and never said that it could not be done, he was great to work with and always asking if it was to our liking, and if not, would redo whatever it was until we were happy. One of the things that impressed us about NVS was the fact that the owner of the company took such a hands on approach in dealing with his customers. He came out to the project multiple times to check on the progress and make sure that his crew was doing a great job and when they left for the day, a clean worksite. Throughout the renovation if we saw something we did not like all we had to do was mention it to the lead carpenter or the project manager and it was fixed or replaced. There were even some gray areas in terms of work and/or material that were not specifically mentioned in the contract that NVS took care of without question or additional cost to us. At the end of the job we allowed NVS to hold an Open House because we wanted to showcase the excellent work that they did and to thank them for doing such a great job for us. We have been very happy with the whole project and overall the renovation exceeded our expectations. Even our friends and neighbors ooh and ahh about the renovation. One of our neighbors was so impressed that they also got a quote for remodeling and had NVS remodel three of their bathrooms as soon as they finished at our house. Currently the neighbor is having additional renovations done at their house by NVS since they did such a fantastic job on their three bathroom renovation. And now another neighbor, impressed with our renovation, has been working with NVS for a second story addition and kitchen renovation. We cannot stress how happy we are with our “new” home and again give NVS a “Highly Recommended”. If you would like to see our addition being built go to www.nvsrd.com, then hover over the You Tube symbol on the right and click on the “A Home Addition in under a Minute” video.

NVS did a great and I would highly recommend them to you if you are considering a remodel!
Description of Work: NVS Kitchen & Bath did a total remodel of our kitchen and did such a great job we engaged them a second time to remodel the upstairs second bath. Both were total gut, down to the studs, nothing left. Then somehow NVS put it all back together to our satisfaction. We had a budget and NVS worked with it and completed both projects on budget. We were impressed that during the demolition the NVS crew cleaned up each night before they left. NVS employes arrived per the schedule and informed us ahead of time if there was a scheduling conflict. The project manager, carpenter, and Glen Miracle, President of NVS, kept us informed on the progress of the work and discussed any required plan changes. As in any project this size, there were minor problems but all were addressed quickly and to our satisfaction. We are very happy with our new kitchen and bath.

After talking with NVS Remodeling and Design representatives at the Dulles Home Show, NVS estimator, Scott, came to our home to provide an estimate for our small master bath remodeling project. We discussed in detail what we wanted and Scott offered suggestions based on his experience and expertise. In particular, we were interested in a shower without tile and grout that did not have to be squeegeed after use to prevent mold and mildew buildup. Scott suggested a solid wall shower consisting of 2 walls of Corian or Quartz, a wall of glass, and a glass door. He also recommended a continuous sloping shower pan with a linear drain vice a poured pan with tile and grout. Just what we wanted! We also discussed adding a tile floor, relocating and replacing his and hers vanities and a toilet, adding a ventilation system, a ceiling fan and lighting, installing a pocket door, and removing an old Jaccuzzi tub to free up space. Scott provided an estimate of $45,000 and said it was obviously high but he always estimates high so he would never have to raise his estimate, only lower it as the project got underway. He also stated that NVS provided a “turn-key” operation for their projects which meant they would take care of everything to the last detail. We would have nothing to do but be impressed at the end as they handed us the keys. He stated that our next appointment should be at his showroom to work closely with his chief designer to select the color, quality and design of specific products for the total look of our new master bath. We made an appointment to work with the designer. Arriving at his showroom, just inside the door we immediately saw the exact Corian shower Scott had recommended. We announced that we had an appointment to work with the designer. Scott said she was busy. The designer appeared, was introduced, and said she had time to work with us. Scott said he would make product recommendations, dismissed her, and the confused designer walked away. Scott began to recommend products. First, he would not recommend the Corian or Quartz shower because of cost implications, the cost of which he would not reveal. He said we had to settle for a typical ceramic tile shower. Also, we had to work ourselves with the tile subcontractor, Mosaic Tile, to select the floor tile, because some tiles could cost $40, and we would be given a strict budget to work within. Our master bath is only 9 x 12, with much of it covered by the shower, vanities, toilet, etc., and we could not understand how ordinary ceramic floor tile could impact project cost significantly. Scott told us that we must be responsible for selecting and purchasing our own ventilation system, lighting, towel and toilet paper holder, shower head and temperature control, as well as ceiling fan. He recommended only one style of vanity with a granite counter top, and told us the single piece Kohler toilet we selected was unavailable but he would recommend a substitute. He quickly disappeared into the offices upstairs to calculate the final cost of the project. That left us wondering why we were not working with the designer to select the products design and color that would appear in our master bath. When Scott returned, with cost sheet in-hand, he covered the cost side with a sheet of paper and discussed why the products he downgraded and substituted were appropriate, or readily available for the project. I pointed out that we had no time constraint, other than “reasonable” for completion and could wait until we could work with the designer to select the products, we would like to have installed in our remodeled master bath. After all, for us, this project was a large expense at up to $45,000 and we wanted to be happy with the product quality and final result. We assumed that with Scott’s shower and product downgrades, and a deduction for the many products we had to go off and purchase on our own, the upside would be that total project cost would come in substantially below the original estimate. Scott then lifted the sheet covering the cost and what do you know? After the shower and other downgrades and other products we had to purchase on our own, the total cost of the project remained at $45,000. We were stunned and asked for a detailed build-up of his costs, and Scott replied that NVS never reveals that—only a total cost figure is ever provided to the customer. After witnessing our preferred products and quality downgraded, while total project cost remained the same, we had enough “red flags” to immediately walk away.

Response from NVS Kitchen and Bath
, I would like to start by offering offer an apology as it is clear based on your comments that there was a breakdown in communication between our initial visit and your return visit to our showroom. We always strive to make sure any potential client is treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. I appreciate that you felt we deserved an “A” in several categories, though was disappointment we fell short in other areas, price receiving the lowest grade. I think it is VERY important to recognize this is by all standards a MAJOR master bath renovation. It may only be 9 x 12, but the square footage does not necessarily equate to a specific cost. We proposed in essence taking the entire bath down to the studs – including all new Kohler plumbing fixtures and locations, new wall board, floor underlayment, all tile, new door to the bath, custom heavy glass enclosure, custom cherry cabinets, upper end granite, all new electric wiring and updates to bring the bath up to current county code, a Jalco trench drain (about $500 alone), ALL vent requirements, inspections, painting, etc. The written proposal we provided you clearly line items all these and notes the few items were not included like accessories (robe hooks, towel bar, etc.) and the vanity lights. All other recessed lights, a $300 Panasonic vent fan, etc. were in fact included. I’ve attached the current 2013 Cost vs. Value report which is the national / regional standard as a reference point – about $50k plus on average for a bath of this scope. When I came to the house we discussed a variety of ideas and product options. We talked about materials that may help reduce the maintenance (like Corian). After our discussion, I shared a ballpark figure for what I thought it might cost based on the scope of work and some of those materials. I said it would probably range from the mid to upper $30k range to the upper $40k range, at which time you agreed that was within your comfort zone. In reviewing our various email exchanges, I checked to see if I somehow misspoke about the purpose of our meeting. I shared that Alison had completed the design, that our operations team reviewed the build requirements, and that I was ready to regroup to simply review the design & proposal. I wanted to introduce Alison since she did the design, though should have been clearer that it was premature for her to sit in on the entire meeting since the purpose of this meeting was not to finalize the design, selections etc., hence why she excused herself. Regarding costs, we do provide clients with the applicable allowances for their selections; however, since we did not get to that step you didn’t receive a copy of this. , I wish we had been able to do everything you wanted within your budget. I also will take your comments and apply them to our “lessons learned”, so that we can continue to improve our communication, processes, and offerings. Though we’ve been doing this for almost 30 years and have thousands of satisfied clients, we can always improve. Thank you for your comments and we wish you all the best on the project. Regards, Scott NVS Remodeling & Design

We never received an estimate from NVS, nor did we receive aphone call letting us know that the estimate would be delayed, or that they were too busy with bigger projects, or they were declining the opportunity to work with us. We were quite disappointed. Our neighbors used NVS for several projects, and we were impressed with their work.

Dear member, This lack of follow through is unfortunate and intolerable— please accept my apology for wasting your valuable time. I have addressed this issue with the project consultant assigned to you and have been assured this will not happen again. I hope that your bathroom remodels turned out beautifully and that you enjoy them for years to come. Kind regards, Glen Miracle President NVS Remodeling & Design

We started working with Scott Ewing at NVS in Feb 2013, when we 1st contacted them in regards to a major remodel project on our 25 year old home. The project was to extend the rear of the house by 10 feet, create a new/bigger kitchen, larger family room, 1st floor bedroom with new bath, and also update all of the baths on 2nd level. Realizing how big the project was we were looking for a contrator that not only had experience in doing similar work, but also clearly understood the process to deliver quality work on time and on budget. Scott met with us multiple times, did preliminary design work on the extension, had his trade people out to the property for a survey and introduced us to other owners that had completed their (similar) projects with NVS on time and budget. Scott's attention to detail, ability to undestand our concerns and provide the right advice/suggestions were invaluable during the design/estimate process. What really stands out with this company is that they have worked out a process where they seem to deliver their projects on budget and time. We have many neighbors that went into similar projects with other contractors that ran into both cost and schedule over-runs where a 4 month project grew into 8-9 months once they started. From what we saw NVS process involves using in-house experienced crews and trusted subs for their large projects, doing extensive pre-planning with the home owner in designing, ordering, staging the material at their Mannasas warehouse and only starting the job when everything was ready. For us, we ended up buying a new house, so we did not go through with the remodel, but would highly recommend this company for the amount of time they spent with us in the intial design phase.
Description of Work: We were looking at a major remodel job for our home in Herndon VA and had contacted several companies for estimates and design insight. Out of these companies, NVS Remodel and Design really stood out in several areas and were clearly the best company we saw to be able do the job.

It went great. We are very pleased with the results and with the way NVS does business. There were no major surprises and the project went according to the plan. The budget and timeline were met and we always knew what was happening. The onsite project manager was very professional and knew what he was doing. We appreciated him being receptive to our ideas and requests during the course of the project. We spent a lot of time on selecting the right materials and NVS did a great job of putting it all together. The planning, design and construction was all very well done. We are very happy with the results and enjoy our new kitchen every day.
