F.H. Furr Plumbing Heating AC & Electrical

On April 18, 2023 a technician from FH Furr came out to my house to flush my hot water heater as part of a FH Furr promotion. Included in that promotion was a FREE plumbing inspection. During the inspection the technician uncovered several items which were going to need attention in the future. He listed the items (4 of them ) and gave us an estimate of what each one would cost based on doing each one as separate service calls since not all of them needed to be done immediately. He went over each with us. He told us he had all the material on his truck to do these while he was here, saving us time and money. Especially since he was already doing the hot water heater flush which drained the hot water heater. Based on this we told him to go ahead and do these items. When he was done doing all the work he submitted his information to FH Furr for billing. He told us we would receive a new invoice. When we received the new invoice we discovered that we were being billed for each item as if it were a new service call instead of work that was done by the technician when he was already here. Especially the replacement of the hot water expansion tank. This item, had it been a new service call would have required the draining of the hot water tank, which had already been done as part of the hot water heater flush. Since this was done it took the technician less than ten minutes to replace a $ 50 expansion tank. Yet I am being charged $ 695.33 !! for this. I don't understand how this billing is correct since none of this was done as a separate service call. Was I conned, duped, scammed or mislead??

Great job on our duct cleaning - I was amazed by how much they were able to clean out of the system. Carlos was super professional and very conscientious. They cleaned up everything an d explained everything they did. Very satisfied customer!

Absolutely do everything you can to avoid this company. Booked them for a kitchen drain blockage. First guy quoted over $700, and then advised his auger wasn't working and they'd need to send another guy. They couldn't get the other guy out until two days later, he went to an $1,100 water jet and, after clearing the blockage, advised that the first Furr guy had damaged the fitting so the P trap would leak until they could send another guy to replace. I offered to go pick up the piece at Home Depot so the fix could be done while he was there..... Nope. They told me they would need to send someone days later. when I advised I'd call another plumber and backcharge the pipe repair, the dispatcher advised they'd send someone on sunday between 12-2. I went to the home and waited, called them at 2, was told they'd be more like 4:30 and "don't you want to reschedule this for Tuesday". Told them I absolutely had to have the kitchen back operational for this homeowner. They advised someone would arrive around 4:30. Called them at 4:45, and was told they wouldn't be coming that day. I reverted to another plumber, paid him $214 to fix the damaged pipe, and was assured by FH Furr's 'Client relations manager" that there would be no charge for the drain cleaning since the work wasn't completed, and that they would be sending me a reimbursement check for the $214. A month later, I pester the CRM for several days, only to be told that since there is an outstanding balance of $1,172, for the work this same person told me they wouldn't be charging me. Great service and absolute professionalism.

Carlos Jones performed an annual AC inspection, then showed me an extensive menu of repairs, services and upgrades on his hand held device. Since our AC unit is 9 years old and the heat exchanger had never been cleaned, I thought that was a great idea that had never been offered by other providers before. He also replaced frayed insulation on the AC coolant line, replaced the capacitor, and installed an electrostatic air filter. I appreciate that Carlos does meticulous work, is happy to explain what he’s doing and also cares about the appearance - fit and finish. I also appreciate the photos he sent which document the work and show the value for money of the work performed - and convince me that Carlos needs to come back and do more work in the future!

Everything was stellar. We had a complicated set of plumbing challenges, between shower heads and sink faucets, and our technician Cody H. took care of it all. Communication was excellent, he set proper expectations, and the work was completed well and on time.

I love the customer service of this company. JJ our technician, was professional, provided thorough description of the issues and options for fixing them without pressure. He explained how the 40+ yr old power panel was in need of replacement - we had no universal switch to cut power to our home in an emergency. JJ walked us through options and provided cost estimates as well.
