F.H. Furr Plumbing Heating AC & Electrical

Plummer came on time and I told him what I wanted done. He gave me a standard rate and a value rate which is 15 percent less for the five things I needed done. He did a good job. Total cost was after 15 percent preferred service club discount. Labor is guaranteed for one year. He said the he would have to come back and fix if I had a problem with any of the work. I think he meant that he would not be paid again for the work.

It was a long job, as our contractor was an individual working at his own pace. Furr was great, patient and accommodating of most unusual work schedule. All the usual issues in a big project arose and were pleasantly and professionally dealt with.

THEY WERE VERY FAST AND THEY GAVE US A GOOD ESTIMATE OF WHAT THEY COULD DO. WE ENDED UP USING THE PREFERRED USER PLAN.

They did a great job. The heat and A/C works great. The salesman was professional, knowledgeable and always returned my calls. The guys that did the install were punctual and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves and actually did a few things I didn't expect.

Consultant gave us full options to replace gas furnace and a/c unit. Scheduled work to meet our time table. Company communicated schedules and workers names to be coming to home. Workers arrived when scheduled. Brought enough workers and all materials to complete job in one day. They used cloths to cover work area, stairs, etc. They removed old units, put in new vents, pipes, etc. When they had to relocate the controls, they contacted me for my consent. Instructed us in working of new controls and units before leaving. Left house clean. When a small piece of cardboard from manufacturing blocked drain pipe that shut down a/c they returned next day and spent hours checking system thoroughly until the tiny blockage was found. Inspection turned up vents too close to other pipes. The company came out next day to reconfigure vents to exceed inspection needs. Again they communicated time schedules and names of service tech to work on job.

Techs are always professional, wear booties and explain what they are doing in great detail. Within 2 hours of completion the company calls and does it's own survey of how the visit went. Not a lot of companies bother to follow-up.

The main shut-off valve for the water line coming into the house broke completely off, causing water to shoot out all over the basement, and I was unable to stop it. Standing ankle deep in water which was continuing to rise, I called F H Furr, explained the situation, and was told that no one was available to come out, and that their Emergency Service would not begin for another twenty minutes (at 6:00 PM), and I should call back then. I explained the the emergency was actually occurring NOW, and that I was also one of their "preferred customers", and the response was exactly the same, that I should call back during their Emergency Service hours.

The problem was detected around 4:30 pm on a weekday, really bad timing. We were not sure, if the steady dripping leak would suddenly burst forth or not, so we treated is a plumbing emergency. I made several calls to plumbers, trying to get someone to come on an emergency basis. Some did not do emergencies. I left messages with office dispatchers with one or two companies, but no one called me back, ever! Furr was the most (dare I say, exclusively) responsive. The dispatcher made a good faith effort to get someone to come out that evening, but no one was available. So, they came out the next morning, as promised and completed the job to our satisfaction.

I was very impressed with the F.H. Furr personnel that repaired a serious gas leak in our home. They did a thorough inspection of the furnace and all other points of potential gas leakage in my home. At the time they performed the service they charged me $343 for their diagnostic work and $343 for the repair job. However, when I called and spoke with the company's plumbing manager to find out why the diagnostic work was so expensive, he cheerfully refunded $265 of the initial charge indicating that the plumber at my home had inadvertently overcharged me. I signed up for the company's preferred service club which involves a monthly charge of $13.95 because it entitles me to expedited service calls, discounts on work, and annual free safety inspections of my plumbing, heating, and air conditioning equipment. I really trust this company and have been impressed each of the three times I've used them.

Tim was on time. Put on booties every time he entered the house. Cleaned up when he was finished, and did a very nice job. It was a bit more expensive than I anticipated, but worth it. We are ''preferred'' customers, paying for a plumbing and HVAC service contract.

I took the morning of from work and they did not show up. I have received no call. There were two different day calls trying to set up and appointment. We went to a lot of work to set up the appointment.

Plumber arrived within the scheduled timeframe promised. Problem was rapidly isolated. Replacment sump pump was available on plumber's truck and installed.

The ad is not true. The estimate is not free. The plumbing work itself was adequate but the customer service was horrible. I never got a response about their wording of the ad. I'll never use them again and I encourage others not to as well.

I think that they charged too much, and the plumber was rude to me.

The two guys who came to install the furnace and heat pump were very courteous and knowledgeable. They worked quickly and professionally. They cleaned up after everything. I joined their preferred customer service club which is $13.95 per month and there is a list of services they will do for you. The very next day I sprung a plumbing leak and I called them. He was here about 20 minutes after I called. Preferred service customers are put ahead of other customers.

They were on time, clean, and knew what they were doing. It took over 12 hours, but the job got done. Everything seemed fine, but later I found that the auxiliary heat was on most of the time. I called the salesman and repairman in the morning, and they worked me in on the next day. The salesman said he would try to come out and see that it got fixed. The repairman came out, worked on it and said that the thermostat was not working, so he installed a new one. No sign of the salesman. Later, I noticed that after the heat got up to the set temperature, the auxiliary heat came on for a minute, then shut off the unit including the fan, bang its off. I didn't think that this was right, all the wasted heat. I called sales and repair. The repairman came and could not see anything wrong, but he told me to run the fan all the time, and the heat won't build up when it abruptly shuts off. No word from the salesman, who has been a no show. I don't think it is running properly. I am not happy!

We were very unhappy with our service from F.H. Furr on many levels. They would show up for service on days that they did not schedule a service call with us. This would often cause us to have to go into work late or rearrange our schedule to accommodate their unexpected arrival. They cleaned our air ducts not long after we had the house painted and asked them to be careful in removing the vent coverings. Most were ripped out of the wall with paint and drywall connected with them, which required us to rehire the painter to come back and redo work. We were very upset about this carelessness. And then there was the A/C. After installation, it took them several visits to get the unit to work properly, which meant missed work for their visits. The unit leaked and wouldn't run. They sent several techs out and couldn't figure out the problem for some time. We got in a dispute with them about final payment on the unit saying we were going to ensure that the unit worked before final payment.

The worker was friendly and quite knowledgeable about the operations of our particular furnace. He kept the area clean while working. The repair was done efficiently and we have had no further problems.

GREAT! I HAVE USED THEM BEFORE. I ALWAYS CALL THEM AND THEY COME RIGHT AWAY IN AN EMERGENCY.

THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE. CAME OUT NEXT DAY. TECH WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. EXPLAINED THE COST and PROVIDED A DISCOUNT FOR BEING A FIRST TIME CUSTOMER.

I WAS REALLY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY. WHEN I CALLED THEM, THEY WERE ABLE TO COME RIGHT OUT. I THOUGHT THAT THE SERVICE PROVIDED WAS GREAT. THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY.

I LOOKED THE COMPANY UP IN THE PHONE BOOK and THEY WERE EXPEDIENTLY GREAT. MY WIFE and I WERE EXTREMELY HAPPY and SATISFIED WITH HOW QUICK THEY WERE TO RESPOND.

I THOUGHT THAT HE DID A GOOD JOB. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE TOO HIGH, BUT THE JOB WAS COMPLETED and THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS GOOD. THE GUY WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.

THEY RESPONDED TO MY NEEDS IN A TIMELY FASHION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL IN APPEARANCE AND MANNERISM. HE CLEANED UP HIS OWN MESS WHICH WAS HELPFUL.

I FELT IT WAS OVERPRICED AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THEIR COMMERCIAL DID NOT MATCH THE SERVICE THAT WAS PROVIDED. THE TECHNICIAN SMELLED LIKE AN ASHTRAY AND STUNK UP MY HOUSE.
