F.H. Furr Plumbing Heating AC & Electrical

We called office before it closed and they said they couldn’t take my call, and I would have to call after hours. I called immediately after hours, and then they said that the office was still open and I would have to call the office. I waited half an hour and called them again, and they were not able to give me any information, and said that they were just an answering service and didn’t know when the technician would be able to call me. Seven hours later, after midnight, I got a call from the service technician, who was drunk and told me he didn’t think he should be driving. I called and emailed them the next day to file a complaint, but I never heard back from them. A month later, they called me to tell me it was time to get my unit serviced. I told them that I have never heard back from them about the complaint I filed, and they told me that they had no record of a complaint from me.

They were professional and efficient. It was a very good company, very solid. They were very knowledgeable.

I’m very pleased with them. I’ve used them before. They are always very good about scheduling. Usually, it's a timeframe. They call you approximately an hour ahead of time or half an hour to let you know they are on their way.

I had a fair experience. They offered a price match and were not the cheapest but they did honor the price match. They originally told me I could use my old thermostat but when they came out they said I would need a new one.

The service went well. They did a really good job. They were very quick and thorough. He was also nice and professional. The pricing for the parts was pretty high because we have high quality toilets. They were very responsive and easy to schedule out. They came out the same day we called for the job.

I did have an attic service contract with them and I was going to have them to work out through the air filling we have with my new walls and I cancelled the contract and I cancelled them for this. They were ineffective at knowledge in the contract. What they told us was going to happen. I'm not sure what it was based on. They basically said when they air fill the attic, I could do it myself. They did not do that. I think that did not happen. They didn't have the equipments for the work. They did not manage the contract so they came out unprepared twice. Here I am going in the Thanksgiving with my family and they are not ready. The same thing happens again. I would not use this provider again in the future.

Set up initial sales call via Costco. Had to call to find out what happened when no one contacted us. A subsequent time was set and everything went smoothly from there. The unit was sized and an installation date was set. The salesman was personable and very knowledgeable. He answered my questions and explained the differences in the ratings. The installers were in and out in less than six hours. They removed the old unit inside and out, and replaced it with the new units. The installation also included a new digital thermostat. Part of the installation was having the duct work cleaned. This cleaning also included the duct work to our electric dryer. The crew thoroughly cleaned up all scrap and removed all debris. All good. They gave me a quote before they started work. There would have been no charge if I declined. They had to snake the drain and it was in bad shape -- I saw it. It made a big mess but they cleaned it up as they should.

FH Furr had sealed two attic spaces and upgraded insulation in my current home in 2012, as well as replaced my HVAC system, and both jobs were done very well, so I called them first for the same at the rental property. Furr was very accommodating with my schedule; I was doing a lot of repairs and upgrades to the property in a very short period of time. Even before the energy audit was conducted, I reserved a date and they honored that date, much appreciated. The energy audit was very detailed and the auditor had many helpful suggestions, for example, the tile floor had been put in but did not have quarter rounds in yet. He advised me to seal the floor area between the wall and the tile with silicone prior to completing the quarter round installation. (This was painstaking work, I recommend using a gardening pad for your knees). As I was completing this, I noticed that there was a distinct difference after sealing - 0 air flow at the base of the wall - so thank you for that! The installation crews (one for sealing, the other for laying down insulation) were very thorough and cleaned up very well. One of the attic spaces was less than 5' at the apex, so the crew had to carefully crawl around to seal every corner, and they did a great job. They discovered some holes in the attic, such as a large space over the kitchen cabinets, and they sealed this with solid foam. This is the way to go - energy audit in advance, then sealing and installation. Because Furr works closely with PEPCO, I will receive a significant rebate from the power company once all the paperwork (which they are, thankfully, doing for me) is processed.

Very professional and informative. The person who came to our home spent time explaining everything to us and taking thorough measurements. I think they would have done a high quality job.

Erik arrived at the scheduled time. He gave us a price for the work which was fair The work turned out to be more than anticipated. There was no access panel so he had to cut out part of the wall behind because we didn't want to damage the tiled shower. Nothing is ever easy but he got the old valve out and installed the new one fairly quickly. He cleaned up afterwards. The work was well done and I will definitely call FH Furr again.

They came on time and completed the service call as requested.

The plumber arrived and wasn't aware that I had called in a job for gas. He didn't bring any gas parts with him. We agreed he would return for that job. He replaced the one sink strainer in about a half hour then noted the other one was leaking because of the adjustments to the pipe. He replaced the second one in about a half hour. The cost for both of these was $600. At the conclusion of this work the plumber removed the gas pipe to check what he needed then couldn?t put it back on. This was a Wednesday. He said he'd try to come out the next day but certainly by the day after that at the latest. I called on Friday and the office wasn't aware he hadn't finished. After a short wait they told me a part had to be ordered and they couldn't do that until Monday. We didn't hear from them on Monday so we called and left a message with the receptionist he promised us a return call. None came. On Tuesday we finally connected and the plumber came o ut and installed a straight pipe. It would make sense to install a pipe with a slight bend just in case more settling occurs, but they didn't. We'll see how long it lasts. Did I mention this was the gas line to the house so we had no hot water or stove for nearly a week. And when everything was done, the plumber was unable to give me a receipt. He had to email it to me. Now some folks like this but I think it is absurd to send me an email that I must go to my computer, then print just to file a copy.

I was on a tight schedule with many contractors performing services in a short period of time. I arranged with FH Furr to pre-hold a date for me right before Christmas, and they agreed, even before the energy audit was complete. The energy audit was very detailed and thorough. The auditor provided many helpful suggestions which I am implementing; for instance, he suggested that I seal the narrow area between the new tile and the outside wall before the tile company put on the quarter rounds. Once I did this, there was a complete cessation of drafts. Thank you for that suggestion! There are two separate attic areas in this house, so the installers had to enter through a small opening in the drywall. They found many unsealed areas (e.g., a big hole over the kitchen cabinets) and sealed them all. Sealed the lights and the two ventilation fans, creating outside vents. They upgraded the insulation (very deep now, we'll never go in the attic again), sealed the openings, and cleaned up very well. I had FH Furr insulate my present home two years ago, and they did a great job then as well, which is why I chose to call them again for the second property.

The original equipment made a strange noise. They replaced the equipment with no problems. Bent over backwards to make sure we were satisfied.

malfunctioning item was under warranty but it took appx 2 weeks and repeated phone calls before they were able to "'obtain" a replacement part. Have used them before to install ac unit, add a zone and install a new boiler and they did a great job. The response to this warranty repair was lacking. .Did not return phone calls after promising to and lacked sense of urgency. Will give them a pass this time because of the good work they have done previously.

Showed up on time. Had materials. was able to consolidate work and reduce expected price. Fix was perfect and allowed us to sell house

FH Furr provides OVERPRICED service months after requested. I recently purchased a home with an existing TRANE warranty on the furnace. In order to maintain the warranty the furnace needs to be serviced annually. TRANE also specified it MUST be serviced by FH FURR. I had no other option. So, I called FH FURR to schedule a service and decided to purchase their service plan ($167). The service plan includes one furnace service, one air conditioning unit service, and discounted plumbing service with no house call fee. I did shop around and this same type of plan is offered by several other companies for $30 - $40 less, but as stated above TRANE specified I had to use FH FURR. Once I purchased the service plan I was informed a representative from FH FURR would contact me to schedule the furnace maintenance. I waited 5 business days and NEVER received a phone call. So, I called them to schedule. I was then informed the next available appointment was in about 1.5 months. I made an appointment, but FH FURR policy is to not provide a time window for the technician to arrive. Instead, they call the day of the appointment 30 ? 45 mins prior to arrival. This is problematic, unless you work from home (which I do not). Additionally, I requested a Saturday appointment due to the lack of an estimated time of arrival and was advised FH FURR does no provide weekend scheduled maintenance service. So, I had to use 8 hours of vacation time waiting for the service technician to arrive. On the day of the appointment the technician did arrive mid-afternoon, approximately 30 ? 45 mins after the phone call. He was polite, used shoe covers, and went over what he was going to do during the service. The technician advised me he flushed the condensation line with bleach followed by 32oz of warm water and encountered no issue with the condensation line or the furnace. He also instructed me in the proper use of the whole home humidifier, ran it, and suggested I use it during the winter months. Once the technician left I began to use the humidifier, but with in seconds I noticed water leaking from the condensation line near the drain, covering the utility closet floor. I immediately called FH FURR, described the issue and told them their technician had just left. FH FURR advised they wouldn?t be able to send anyone out until next week. Again, my options were during the week with no estimated time of arrival (I would be forced to take an additional 8 hours of vacation time). I informed FH FURR this would be unacceptable because they were just here and should have addressed the issue then. They advise this coming weekend was booked and that they would not do after hours house calls. Instead, the ?best? they could do was to schedule me for a Saturday, approximately a week after the first service (Responsive, I think not). FH FURR did eventually fix the problem after charging me $288 to snake a floor drain (my guess is this is double what a plumber would charge). Based on the estimate I received for a new hot water heater install from FH FURR (quote for a 50 gallon with install, $1,909). This is almost double what Home Depot will charge. Bottom line: Do not use this company. They have grown too big to be responsive in a timely fashion. And most likely need to overcharge for services provided because of their high-end marketing (TV commercials, brand new work vans, etc.) I will be contacting TRANE to change service companies in order to maintain the warranty on the furnace.

They arrived on time and were able to quickly determine where the leak was coming from and what was needed to fix it. The did the repair quickly and cleaned up after wards.

They're quite satisfactory in terms of all our plumbing needs. All of our dealings with them have been quite satisfactory. They're very prompt and responsive. We've had our service contract with them for many years. All of their technicians seem to be very agreeable and informative. They're very straightforward about describing what they do and what they find. We've had a good relationship with them.

I called FH Furr to come out to repair a leak coming from my humidifier attached to my furnace. This heating and cooling unit was installed by FH Furr a year and a half ago. The technician arrived and couldn't access the furnace using the most direct route because of his size he implied that I had to remove a metal metro shelf so he could access the furnace from an alternate route . I was shocked that he expected me to do the "heavy lifting " although it was not beyond my ability .The technician stood and watched me move the items of the shelf and out of the room and then move the shelf . The technician then went around to the side of the furnace and I went around to the other side and he determined that the pipe from the humidifier had become dislodged and this resulted in the water leak The technician then glued together the pipes which I believe should have been glued together at the time of the installation. I asked why the pipes had not been glued during installation . and he stated that sometimes joints are not glued so they can be easily accessed , i guess now it was ok to glue them ???? When the technician left he asked if he could help me move the shelf back in , I was frankly ready to get him out of the house by that point. I am glad that I was physically able to move the shelf out of the way for this young man to do his job .I must say I am a 58 year old woman and the technician was a young adult male who appeared to be in his 30"s The company has not offered to repair my damage ,according to them they aren't sure how the pipes got dislodged and therefore would not be held responsible. My husband and I have no children or pets in the house and the pipe in question is behind the furnace in a no traffic area . WE spend most of last year out of the country so i know it was not dislodged by us F H Furr did the installation of this heating and cooling system a year and a half ago and during that 10 hour period of work my Mini I pad went missing , a police report was filed after I got no help from FH Furr in paying fo rmy I pad . The implied from the stat that i was incorrect and misplaced the item . I They went so far as to imply that I was trying to get a electrical device from them ! t was a very infuriating and nasty experience. I never imagined I could contract someone into my home to do work and then be robbed . I am sorry that I have a service contract with this company for my furnace for some time to come but I will eliminate them from my life as soon as possible . They claim that customer satisfaction is their goal but my experience does not leave me satisfied only saddened by the lack of genuine interest in doing good work. This company does not care about their customers . Wearing little bootie to enter my house does not disguises you lack of intrest.

Great job. We have been dealing with Furr for over ten years, and we have a preferred maintenance agreement with them. They give us same day service even on weekends and discounts on plumbing, heating, and AC. Over the years, they have replaced an old furnace, and old A/C system, and an old hot water heater and done various plumbing repairs. We got several estimates for the major items, and Furr always came out on top and did the a great job. They are competent,prompt, professional, and an overall good value.

They did a good job, contracted through Costco, with a nice cash back from Lennox. they took a look at my current system, offered me several options. ultimately they didn't have room to add a humidifier, and took it off the job without problems. I would absolutely use them again.

They maintain our heating system. I?ve been dealing with them for 10 years and obviously I like them and I have no reason to change whether they are on Angie?s List or not. They are coming here in two weeks to do their semi annual maintenance check on my heating system before the winter sets in. That?s a free service but I pay for it throughout the year for that. They come twice a year. I?ve been satisfied with them. Normally, when they come out for emergency it?s $150. I pay $13 a month throughout the year so I get two free services out of that. They check the mechanical side of it and make sure everything is working for my heat pump or the furnace itself. They check the electrical and make sure that the circuits are working too. I don?t have anything negative to say about them at all. I like their advertisement. I like their demeanour when they are here working. They always make recommendations for me to do something between their visits and I usually follow their professional opinion. Their price is competitive with everybody else. They give you a timeframe like from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. and they?ll be there. They?ll call an hour before they?ll be at the house. They have so many customers that they try to accommodate. It?s one job for the other and they estimate when they think they?re going to be there. They?ve been good for 10 years now.

It didn't. They couldn't be bothered to call back. I will never try them again.
