F.H. Furr Plumbing Heating AC & Electrical

Arrived on time, introduced himself, put on his shoe covers and went to work. First he went to the basement to do some checks on the main unit. He recommended a surge protector for the variable speed motor, which no other tech (as far as I could remember) has recommended. He discussed the pros/cons and said I could take my time in making up my mind as he continued with the rest of the checks. He asked if I was military, and when I said I was retired he said there was a discount of 10% for that, if it makes any difference. But there was no pressure to purchase the protector. After he was finished in the basement, he went outside to the unit out there and performed several checks there. He said everything was good to go and went to work on the paperwork. He asked if I wanted the protector so he could finish the paperwork for the visit and I said yes. He retrieved the part from his truck and installed it immediately. Overall. Mr. Boggs was very professional in both his appearance and attitude. There was no pressure to purchase anything and we passed the time during the checks talking about our past job experiences. I have had a contract with F.H. Furr for over 10 years now and still feel it was the best purchase I have made. The semi-annual visits to insure my system is working properly has helped me not be concerned about the heat pump at all.

I had a very positive experience working with Juan Balbuena. He was very punctual with his timing. Everything that I had a hard time understanding he would explain to me in vivid details until I fully understood. Juan is a very diligent worker who provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend Juan and his services if you are looking for someone who does a great job, shows great knowledge in his line of work, displays high levels of professionalism, and cares about his clientele

The electrical work went as scheduled and they did a great job.

I am no expert, but it appeared to me that he was thorough, that he knew what he was doing, and he wanted me to be clear on what the system needed to perform at peak efficiency. Thoroughly professional, he was friendly and engaging.

Patrick Close was the Tech. Was professional (wear foot protection, called before arriving with advance notice, provided update on unit status prior to conducted work, and provided recommendation for repair and maintenance).

Went very well. They were on time. Very polite and spent time asking a ton of questions. Then they explained everything they were going to do. Then they covered their shoes and went to work. They checked the unit inside and outdoors. Ckecked the electrical, the coolant, all pressures, ran some tests. Very thorough. I am pleased. The tech, Alec Boland, was very friendly and professional. He shared information with me continuously. I trusted him.

John arrived on time and diligently repaired the broken system in the stated timeframe. He was very professional, courteous and knowledgable.

I have a service contract with Furr and they come out twice a year to maintain the heating and cooling systems. My prior technician (who I REALLY liked) left the company, so Steve Orellana was sent out. He is equally fantastic as my prior technician. Maintains things well, gave me solid maintenance tips and ideas, and didn't "high pressure" me to buy added services, parts, etc. He suggested I use the warranty to switch out a rusted capacitor that I would never have known about. Total cost was only $75 and it should add years to the life of the unit. I am very pleased with Furr and Steve.

It went well. The culprit of the problem was quickly identified -- it was the circuit breaker, not the A/C unit. Matt called in our need of an electrician and one is scheduled to come change out the circuit breaker tomorrow.

I love the replacements. He changed us to the quarter turns which are much nicer. I think it is cleaner now than wneh he got here!!

Replaced capacitor with a new OEM part. Installed a noise reduction blanket in the compressor on the outside unit. Issue with the the bad capacitor and the outside noise level have been reduced. This work was done under the warranty period for the A/C unit. The tech was very courteous, informative, and patient with all questions asked.

The question is "Who is Darius at FH Furr?" if you're on Jeopardy! I came home on Friday August 12 after work during a spell of 100+ degree heat in Virginia. My house was 93 degrees inside and two dogs were panting. I texted Darius at FH Furr. He asked me a few questions in text exchanges and then scheduled a technician to come out next day, Saturday. The Furr office phoned me before 8am Saturday morning to confirm the appointment because he had taken care of all the scheduling. Mayor was the technician. He determined that a capacitor in the outside condenser was the issue. There was no electric power going to the outside unit. Major replaced the condenser and the system was up and running in a short time. Then it took hours to get the temperature back into the 70 degree range. When I moved into my 30+ year old house in 2004 it had the original HVAC system and a small water heater. I wanted to replace both and got three estimates. Then I took no action at that time because of other priorities. Darius was very smart to send a letter months later in February offering a further discount. I did take action on that and Furr installed a Trane HVAC system and a 75 gallon hot water heater. Darius provides great service and follows up. Darius and his brother have both worked there a long time and know their business. Call them first!

John asked me when the problem started and proceeded to analyze my thermostat and the AC unit. He showed me why the problem existed and thoroughly explained how to avoid it in the future. I was attempting to keep my unit working properly by cleaning out the sediment build up in the little pipe with water in it on the side of the unit (inside the house). As I removed the cap to do this, I caused the float to come off the plunger which ultimately, as a safety measure, breaks the electrical circuit to the AC unit. Reattaching the float reestablishes the circuit and allows the unit and thermostat to come on again. I really appreciated John's ability to quickly diagnose the issue, correct it and not make me feel like a complete idiot even if this was the hottest weekend of the summer! Great job by a real professional. .

Technician was very friendly and professional. Offered me a few different options for how to fix the problem and I picked the cheapest. He made the repair and I was very happy with ththe result and the price. I will definitely use them in the future.

Jim worked for the next few hours tracing and reconnecting wires. Once completed Jim recycled the system several times to ensure its peak operation and the problem has been resolved. So happy to have AC up and running. I cant say enough about Jim's professionalism and commitment to resolving the problem. Each time I contact FH Furr I am truly impressed with friendliness of everyone involved from the receptionist to the on-site technician. I have used FH Furr for past plumbing issues as well. Plumbing technician Jimmy Bevans responded and within a hour had resolved my problem. Jimmy demonstrated the same high level of professional and commitment I've grown to expect from FH Furr. The noise issue was a minor adjustment that we foolishly overlooked, but he patiently took care of the problem and then completed an overall check of the unit's performance. He was great to work and we appreciated his time.
