 + 0 moreJonathan showed up right on time, He was knowledgeable and personable. He explained what needed to be done to do the job right and what it would cost. He snaked the clog out, used a camera to verify no remaining material and suggested a new toilet that would move the water around a bend in the line with a much better flow. It was all rather expensive for top quality work and toilet but he did secure a senior discount and a free one year service plan. I feel it will be worth the money in the end.
Description of Work: Bathroom drain was clogged.

 + 1 moreAfter a systematic search of the outlets and lighting power was restored to the receptacles and new wiring installed for two kitchen lights and switches.
Description of Work: Lights in our kitchen and dinning room ceiling fan went out and several receptacles in the kitchen were dead, all for no apparent reason. No breakers in the electric panel were tripped making the search for the faulty circuit difficult to track down and correct.

He made sure to show me that there were no leaks, went over the work he had done, and provided hands on instruction for lighting the new water heater and draining it annually. If I ever need plumbing work done again he will be the one I ask for.

He recommended and took care of scheduling a future duct cleaning too. He took pictures of the areas needing cleaning and showed them to me. The cost included the duct cleaning.
Description of Work: Inspection of HVAC unit and cleaning of coils on A/C unit. Future visit will clean HVAC ducts.

Description of Work: Osmin, working for F.H. Furr, did an outstanding job for us today. The plumbing work was repairs to a 41 year old house with plumbing to match. The work was overhead and out of sight - hard work. It is now done well. He added to cutoff valves to avoid freezing and leaking hose bibs. On the next appointment he will replace the main cutoff valve, presently frozen up, and the damaged hose bib.

He is a true professional in his field, and he has many years of experience to draw on when discussing the best solution and cost saving measures for us as the homeowner. We trust his opinion and felt that he was truthful and honest with us. We appreciated his guidance. He is very organized and knows his job well.
Description of Work: Kevin Fulp worked with us on a sewage backup problem and quote at our house. Kevin was very honest and helpful in discussing the various options available for F. H. Furr to remove old sewage pipe, replace with new PVC from our house through the front yard to the street, jet clean the cast iron pipe under the street, and replace the water service line. He suggested that to save money for us, since our house is 50+ years old, that the water service line should be replaced at the same time. Kevin used a camera to see the inside of the sewage pipe to better understand the condition of the pipe and whether it needed to be replaced.

Description of Work: Annual HVAC inspection. Alec came out a few minutes earlier than expected, but called ahead of time to make sure it would be ok. He was respectful and tidy, donning shoe booties whenever he came in the house, even when he came through a portion of our garage that we use as a mini-mud room area. Knocked and although it was a hot day and I offered a glass of water, didn't take until I insisted at the end of his inspection. He was thorough and thoughtful in his explanations often taking an extra minute or two to make sure I understood his explanation. Not having much experience with our HVAC system (I am a new homeowner and Rheem systems are new to me), he took panels off to explain the nuts and bolts and expectations of a homeowner in maintaining or knowing when to call FH Furr. He lauded the company and the value of their services and I appreciated hearing that from what appeared to be a clearly happy employee. One additional thing I did appreciate was that he also gave me an idea of the status of each part of the HVAC inspection, including when he thought things were "red" and needed attention and those that were "blinking yellow" and could be planned for or put off until next year.
