Bad.
Description of Work: Repeat customer, very disappointed, young man left me with an active leak and no service, He just drove away while I was speaking with his company, very rude. Ceiling is falling in, have to start over again with a new plumber. Do not recommend Furr, after ten years of being a repeat customer.

Description of Work: They arrived when scheduled and performed three jobs immediately in one visit, one at no charge because it was so easy and we had other work being done. No problems. 1. Replaced sump pump and installed battery backup for the new sump pump. SUmp pump is 6 years old and in our previous house it went out at 7 years, flooding the basement, so we just wanted a new ne with a backup. The battery backup came with a second pump that runs when in failover mode. Furr was quick and efficient and cleaned up when done. No problems! 2. Installed customer purchased kitchen sink faucet. The price to install was outrageous ($400) but I am glad I had them do it becasue there were complications which I may not have been able to resolve. This is the 3rd facuet in 6 years but the first time Furr installed one. We are hoping this one holds up longer. 3. We had 3 sink stoppers that were stuck in the open position. They fixed the 1st two in 5 minutes at no charge and showed us how to do it in case it happens again - was easy. The 3rd took a little more effort and we could not have done it ourselves, but they still did not charge us. This was our second time using Furr - the previous timewas to fix a leaky faucet and we called them back because we were happy with that first time. They are not the cheapest but they are very professional and they get the job done. We would use them again.

Went very well as always.
Description of Work: I have been an F.H. Furr customer for about 6 years. I'm a member of their preferred service (or whatever they call it) program. In this program you pay an annual fee and they come twice/year to inspect the HVAC system (once prior to summer for AC and once prior to Fall (for heat) as well as once /year for plumbing. They will suggest any work that needs to be done, if any. This is a very useful service. They caught several - some very important - things that the builder missed/didn't do - such as an overflow water cut-off switch on our attic HVAC unit. This program also gives one "priority" service when you need them as well as a discount on any work done. Given the restrictions of how to enter date of work done and price of work on Angie's reviews, my above reflects my last visit by them as well as the approximate total spent since I've been with them. I've had them do very minor work as well as put in a back-up sump pump and a new hot water heater. Overall, they are an excellent company. They are on time, give you an up-front price, are very clean and professional. They are even usually happy during their HVAC and plumbing checks to give a little do-it-yourself info if asked. My only issue with them it price. They are a bit expensive. That said, I've not compared them with many other firms, they just seem expensive for the work done. I've stayed with them due to the quality of their work and their reliability. I would definitely recommend this company.

See above. Need I say more?
Description of Work: They were supposed to do a contracted spring "cooling preventative maintenance & inspection service" (their language - not mine). The technician did arrive on the scheduled date and within the estimated time frame. I could not be there due to work but my girlfriend (who has the contract - her house) was there. The technician, TK, was there approximately 20 mins. according to her. He supposedly checked out the entire system and declared it to be "operating under normal conditions" but he did also tell her that the indoor blower was dirty and needed to be/should be cleaned - to the tune of $417.00 (and that was AFTER the Preferred Service Club discount of 15%). That not being an insignificant sum of money, and I being very mechanically adept (30+ yrs in the swimming pool service business),she asked the tech if cleaning the blower was something I might be able to do. He told her no, that it was very complicated. She told him she would talk with me and asked if there was a number I could reach him at should I have any questions about it. He said that was not possible. She said ok and that I would simply call the main office then if I had such questions. He then suddenly was able to provide a cell number that I could call him at. He then departed. When I got home from work, I took a look at the outside condensing unit and immediately noted that the cooling fins had not been cleaned at all (remember those words "preventative maintenance"?). I then went inside and took at look at the "dirty blower". There was a very light layer of dust on the blades of the blower - hardly what one would describe as dirty. And the "extremely difficult" job to clean it? Two sheet metal screws and one wiring connector plug to disconnect to remove the entire blower - 5 yminutes max. Another 5 min. to vacuum off the dust, or even if I wanted to wash the blades, only another 30 minutes. 5 more mins. to reinstall it. And that costs over $417/491? Additionally, immediately next to the blower access door is the furnace filter. I use 90 day filters and when I put one in, I put masking tape over the end to get a better seal of the filter to the slot it slides into and I write the date I change it on the tape. When the tech came, the 90 days had just ended, but he neither paid any attention to the date nor did he change or recommend the filter be changed. I checked it, and it was indeed quite dirty and in need of changing which I did (new filters were sitting right there on top of duct in plain sight). So the system needed an overpriced blower cleaning but didn't need a clean filter to allow good airflow thru the system? Hmmm, .... thinking about "preventative maintenance" again. As a result of this 'service' and then learning of similar experiences from a few others, we subsequently decided to cancel the contract. Oh, and the upshot? 3 months later, the system stopped working. The problem(s)? Condenser fan motor bearings going bad (readily apparent signs (once motor was pulled) of leakage for some time, and a significantly low temperature drop (9 vs 18-20 degrees) due to a low freon charge (which had also supposedly been fine 3 months earlier?). Wondering how much compressor damage might have been done due to this. Will not ever use again and definitely would not recommend

Horrible experience.
Description of Work: We smelled gas in the basement where Furr had installed a manifold about 4 years before. We called Furr to check for a leak and they found 4 leaks! There was a leak nearly on every joint of the manifold. The plumber questioned whether originally it had been done properly but we got charged big bucks for detecting the leak.
