Bottom Line Up Top: Read the fine print on this one. First, I want to be clear that the installer was outstanding, and ultimately, did what I asked him to do. That being said, what I failed to catch when I bought this 'deal' was that the $349 assumed you were having an existing lighting fixture replaced, so that they could re-use the existing wiring to an existing switch. That's my fault, I failed to understand that's what the details on the job meant. Because the installer had to run the wires down a wall, and install a switch-box, the price for the job increased by $229. Had I wanted the installer to then repair the holes in the wall and ceiling that had to be made to do this job, it would have costed an additional $60/hole repair, but fortunately, that's a task I can easily do myself, saving me a further $240 (4 holes) that another person might have to pay. While I feel that the installer did a great job, and was especially careful to ensure not making a mess on the counters, the cost overruns (actual and potential) make this not such a great deal as it seemed.

Not good. Did not schedule appointment due to the company's unprofessional attitude toward the customer. When I called the company to schedule appointment the first time, he said he was on vacation and did not have his pad with him. He said he'd call back in 30 minutes. Since I was out when he called back, I returned his call and tried to schedule appointment. He kept talking to someone else while trying to talk to me and that was very distracting. Then he told me he could schedule the work on Monday, 12/16/2016 between 11:00 AM and noon. I said that's ok. After few seconds of again talking to someone else he change the time to 11:00 and 1:00 PM, which I said "I thought you said between 11 and noon. Then he proceeded to make some excuse about him being on vacation, which was totally irrelevant to me. Then he said I should get my money back from Angie's list. I said fine and that I would not recommend his service.

It was replaced quickly and is working fine now. The light switch problem was little harder to diagnose but it was a junction box that we never knew about.

The estimate was more than I hoped/expected so I have not decided yet if/when to do the work. But I've done work with these guys before and I trust them.

I signed up for the $49 Electrical Service Call plus $100 credit toward repairs. I wanted lamps to be installed on my front porch at the side of the door. I had removed the old ones and wanted the new ones to be installed. Approximately a 15 minute job. When they arrived they told me they were only to give me an estimate for $49 dollars. No work would be done until I accepted the estimate. My issue with this is that the add never said estimate. It said service call. I assumed it to be a physical service. I never interpreted service call to mean giving an estimate. I would never pay for an estimate. Nor would I agree to pay for an estimate that I may not even be able to afford. It was totally ambiguous. And very out of order for Angie's list. With Angie's list I always know what the cost will be from the listed add. I would never sign up not knowing what the cost would be. And with previous contracts I've had through Angie's list, I've had the contractors come to my house in advance to tell me what materials I would need on hand such as how many gallons of paint. My would like this $49 cost to be reimbursed to my account. This add was misleading.

First of all what you did to my technician was rude, and very disrespectful!! Who opens their door and the first thing you do is hand him a box of lights? No hi, no nothing. Is it our fault that you assumed? Is it our fault that you didn't read the coupon properly? Yes you did buy a coupon for $49.00 with a 100 discount. My technician came out there to provide you an estimate and then to do the work. You were so upset, and you used foul language towards my technician, for something that you didn't read properly, and yet you give us an F!

Had an appt. between 10:00 and 1:00. After 1:00 pm was called and told they were stuck in traffic. At 3:30 I called to ask where they were. Was told that they are not coming that day. Was told that next available appt. for earliest in day was in about 10 days. Also, they would not give a quote for their hourly rate, but would give us a "price" after they came, so coupon seemed more like a bait and switch - not sure if coupon was really was worth anything, depending on a "price" not based on hourly rate. Requested that Angie refund coupon - they did :-)

I will help un twist this issue. first of all I called you at 9 a.m. to let you know that I will be there between 1 and 2 p.m. We were working all the way in Fredericksburg. you live all the way in Arlington I knew that we were going to be running a bit late just because of the distance we had between each other. That's why I called you first thing early morning. second of all I called you a half an hour before we left our first ticket to let you know that we will be there by 2:30. When we got on I-95 northbound there was a major accident in Springfield. There was an 8 Mile backup. I even sent you the pictures to let you know that there was a two and a half to 4 hour traffic delay. you were the one that suggested to reschedule. so that's exactly what we did we gave you another day to put you back on the schedule . you did not like the fact that we had to reschedule you towards the end of the week . it is not my fault that the company does not have helicopters for these type of situations . we called you and kept her informed the whole entire day . And we do not give already quotes over the phone I told you numerous times that we are a flat rate company. And I do not understand why you wanted me to give you an hourly rate for a coupon price that you already purchased for 4 recessed lights.

They were good. I ended up having them doing more work and so they gave me the same cost for the other fans. I had more than 1 fan. I ended up paying them more because they were doing more stuff. They honored what they had offered initially. I gave them a B because they did cause an issue on one of my walls. I had to end up fixing the dry wall. They had to pull some wires and that pulled out some dry wall. The rest of the stuff was fine. They were honest and informative about the work they were doing like exactly what we would need to do and challenges they might encounter. They did tell me that upfront. The workers were friendly and they did good work.

Did not get service completed, as the job required a follow-up work order to repair ceiling. I was not pleased with the company overall service.
Description of Work: No work was done because in order to install recessed lighting, worker said the ceiling would require repair after they complete the job. I canceled service as this requirement was not mentioned in ad.

This rating is beyond unfair!!!!!!!!!! So because the customer did not fully read the fine print, which specifically states that there is possible drywall damage, and that the coupon price does not cover that cost. We get an F rating? Courtesy Electric did everything right. The customer called us, told us what he bought, we put him on the schedule, we send Victor Figueroa out to do the service, (who btw is our BEST installer), he called the customer to let him know he was on his way, Victor Figueroa shows up on time. Thoroughly explains to the customer the entire process For some reason the customer thought that we can install 4 recessed lights, run the wires, without cutting one single drywall. Again we did everything going right, the customer just did not look at the fine print. I just hope that Angie's List can fix this F rating for us, since we did our part.

The electrician that I got in the beginning it was very hard to reach them and have the right dates and they scheduled something they cancelled, they reschedule again anyway when they made it, it took like almost three weeks and then the service was good but they were like so slow. The guy came and I really like him he was very good he apologized for the mistake about his partner because the partner said okay he's schedule to come out I've been home one day and then I called to say where are you I am here off work waiting for you and then he made a mistake instead of coming to my house he had a lot of appointment anyway it was a mess and then they apologized and in the end they were like good people honest workers.

At first it seemed to be fine. We were told we needed a new chime, so while the provider was here we purchased the exact same bell. When they came back to install it I mentioned that it sounded weak and the garage bell only rang once instead of twice as it did previously. A few days later I smelled something burning. I called the provider twice before having to call the fire department. The provider said he never received my calls, but when I texted the same number with a picture of the fire department, he called me immediately. We tried to come to some agreement to no avail.

It really irritates me when a customer blatantly does not tell the truth. yes we in fact installed a doorbell chime for you. Since you were the one that provided the unit I told you that it'll be extra for us to troubleshoot the entire system. You chose not to pay the troubleshooting fee for us to figure out why the second doorbell chime that you purchased did not work. I have been working as an electrician 419 years. I have been a master electrician for seven years. And my entire professional career I have never ever seen a low voltage wire catch on fire. It only draws 12 volts. you did not send me a text, you did not call me. The only reason why I found out about the issue was because you sent me an email not a text. As soon as I received the email immediately called you from the hospital. even the fire department told you that the smell was not coming from the doorbell chime. So please do not blast me on social media with so much negativity when we try to help you out, you just chose not to pay the extra fees in order for us to properly troubleshoot the problem.

After a no show on the first scheduled installation, I called to inquire as to what happened. I received profuse apologies that they had forgotten to inform me that the installation date needed to be postponed due to the unavailability of the assigned installer. We rescheduled. On the date of installation, Victor called to inform me that he was running 15 minutes late. Upon arrival, he advised that the deal did not include LED lights or the light switch. I appreciated both his call to advise of his delay and the up front explanation of what was and was not included in the deal. I decided to proceed and pay for the light switch although I thought the quoted price of $210 plus tax was a bit steep. I had paid $100 for this service by another provider. However, Victor agreed to take out a dimmer switch from another room that was intended for the room he was working on and replace the dimmer switch with an occupancy switch at no extra charge. Victor patiently explained what he was doing whenever I checked in with him. He gave technically sound advice. Overall, I was very pleased with the service.
Description of Work: Installation of recessed lights under Angie's List deal of 4 lights for $349. I paid an additional $210 plus tax to have a light switch installed to operate the recessed lights.

The technician was knowledgeable and suggested several options. He initially showed up by himself and suggested that it was a two man job. The estimate was provided which was $250.00 over the voucher which was $100.00. The estimate was updated to reflect 3 possible installs. A second appointment was scheduled. The work was completed on the second visit. Overall rating above satisfactory. I would use this provider again.

This was a big deal purchase. It turned out well. The thing went back and forth for a while. Because it was a fairly big job we got building permits from the county and they were never right on the spot to come and do the inspection. It cost another $11,000 above the original price of the big deal. We wanted it to be nice so we spent about $6,000 on all the tiles and the shower, vanity and lighting. Then they charged more because they had to do a lot more work than (was included in the deal). Their charges included a lot of labor. The manager was difficult to get hold of and they had delays because a guy screwed up a couple of things and had to do them over. But they gladly did them and did not charge us any more money for that because I guess we had not explained it as well as we had hoped they would understand. It was more than I had expected to spend but we got what we wanted. They charged more for labor because of the extra things they had to do. They gave us full credit for what you paid them. I was disappointed with the price they charged. In the end I would say they did a good job. The guy that did the work wasn't always here when we thought he would be, but he was never really here that late. The worker was very professional. He was not entirely proficient in English so sometimes we had to make sure we were on the same...but he was very respectful, took good care of everything and cleaned up. It is not a very big company and the boss had a bunch of stuff going on. I appreciate that but having difficulty getting hold of him did not make it any easier either.
Description of Work: They basically replaced everything in the bathroom so they removed the flooring, tub, vanity and toilet. Instead of a new tub we had them put in a walk-in shower. They also did electrical work and then painted everything. It was a complete redo. They did not replace the doors, but they painted the walls, ceiling and doors. In order to meet the code they had to put in new wiring and a new GFI dedicated line.
