It went very well. The technician was able to resolve an electrical switch problem that had been occurring for a while. He was very knowledgeable and professional. We would definitely utilize that company future.

They sent two people, only one worked. The other one didn't have the appropriate tools. They only had one heat gun. They were only here for about an hour and a half but I paid for two. They left drywall on the wall, didn't sweep the floor, and they had a half hour left and left without saying anything or cleaning up. I wouldn't recommend them. I wasn't left with any paperwork, receipts, nothing. I called the business and they did not call back. Right now the job is unfinished and I'll be finishing it myself.

He arrived on time and ready to work. He assessed the issue quickly, informed me what it was, and talked about his approach to fixing it. One of the issues he identified was significant enough to cause a fire hazard, and in fact had shown some amount of charring! He made some suggestions for future (long term) repairs to bring everything to code, and then did what he needed to do to make sure to make everything safe, and no longer a fire risk! He emailed me later with quotes on bringing the wiring to code.

Many excuses and arrived several hours late. Took one look at job site and claimed to need to buy "tamper proof" outlet because the ones that I had were not "code." He came back an hour later with the EXACT same outlets as I had in the box. Same manufacturer and type. He took two hours to complete the job, which was resonable. But I was charged about $ 15.00 each for the same outlets that I already had AND one hour , at $ 189.00 per hour, for his travel time for the parts. No receipt was given, He said he would email it and it never came.

Overall very well. The electrician was friendly and communicative. He was stumped by my ceiling type and did a little damage, but he was open about it and I inspected it before he left. It bothers me a little months later, but I signed off on it, so that's on me. Overall I would get this deal from them again.

Victor was polite and charming. He almost immediately started trying to sell me on rewiring my entire home for almost three thousand dollars. He explained why he could not perform a single one of my requests, in part because I had gotten Home Depot products instead of commercial grade. He explained why it would take at least three hours to install my ceiling fan, which lacked a "box." He did not fix anything and left after one hour, saying he would come back later for the last hour. I cancelled that appointment, worrying that I might be a target of a scam. Another electrician installed my fan and box for $150 plus $75 for box. My "deal" of $119 for 2 hours was a complete waste of money. The other electrician had a much lower hourly rate as well ($59 less per hour.)

I did not almost mmediately tried to sell anything to you. that is not how I operate. you were explaing to me of all the electridans that performed "shotty work". When I was taking the switches apart that was wired wrong from the previous electrician, I mentioned that you had a method called quick stab which is a very common method that a lot of electricians do to your devices. This is not the best method. The switches that you had were from Home Depot I merely just recommended that you use a better quality grade for your dinners. And yes there are other electrical contractors that have cheaper rates. I don't think that it is fair that we get bad reviews because our prices are a little bit more than other contractors. One of the main reasons why our rates are a little bit higher than other contractors is because of the simple fact that all of our electricians are highly trained and certified electricians. you wanted me to remove a ceiling fan, install a brand new ceiling fan within the two hours. You also forgot to mention that you also had other work than needed to be done. I cannot get your ceiling fan done within the two hours including the other items you had on that list. That is why I said that your two hours was not going to cover the entire job. I'm sorry that things did not work out between us.

Bad, really bad! Do not ever use this company for drywall repair. Two repairmen arrived 20 minutes late. Even though they should have known that this was a drywall repair job because they had a voucher for drywall repair, they had no drywall with them and spent 50 minutes at Home Depot getting material. Half the value of my voucher went to pay for the time at Home Depot. When they returned with drywall, they cut the ceiling drywall to the nearest beams and cut a piece of the new drywall to fit, but because they had not cut the adjacent ceiling back to undamaged drywall, the adjacent drywall cracked and began to disintegrate when they tried to attach it to the beam. (I've since been told by friends who have done such work that they should have tested the drywall first and cut out all the damaged drywall before they cut the replacement piece.) They then cut back some of the damaged drywall and put up an additional piece to replace it, but this piece was attached to a beam on only one side - the other three sides were attached to pieces of wood resting only on adjacent drywall. Putting in two pieces rather than a single larger piece made the job take longer. By this time they had used up the two hours labor covered by my $149 voucher. They told me it would be another hour, at $210, to complete the job. I agreed, because the ceiling was a mess at that point. They started putting up mud to make a smooth join between the pieces and the rest of the ceiling. Since the second drywall piece they installed was not level with the old drywall, it took a tremendous amount of mud to level the area, and they were not able to make it all level - the second piece of drywall is clearly depressed relative to the surrounding drywall. They also had cracked some of the adjacent undamaged drywall and had to spackle that as well. At the end of the additional hour, they had finished the spackling but it had not dried. The area still needs sanding and painting, but I would not have them return to do that. What should have been a simple repair had already cost me $350 and I was not about to add another $210 to the cost. The job was done poorly and inefficiently, and I'm afraid that if the area ever gets wet again, the part of the repair that was tied to a beam on only one side will come down from the weight of the wood placed on top of the drywall that was used to attach the new piece. I have since communicated with the company and was told that if I had had the piece of drywall that had been removed by the plumber, the workers would simply have reattached it to the sagging, water damaged drywall, even though there was no nearby beam to attach it to. The only response the company offered to my complaint was that they would return to put more mud on the area to make the joins between the pieces of drywall smoother. I accepted this offer, but only if there were no additional charge, and the company did not reply. If you are foolish enough to hire this company for drywall repair, please buy the drywall yourself in advance. But a better solution would be not to use them. This was my first use of Angie's List, and I've concluded that their company ratings are unreliable and I will not be using Angie's List again.
Description of Work: There was a hole in drywall in my basement ceiling from a repair done to plumbing in a bathroom in the floor above. Also the drywall was sagging because it was damaged from having been wet. Before the workers arrived I sent an email describing the problem.

I'm extremely sorry you had a bad experience with our services!!! We always try our best to make sure that our customers are happy with our work. We are humans and we make mistakes. Some if the comments you mentioned are not all accurate. You needed more work done to.your drywall to make it perfect. When we mentioned that it needed more work, you told my employee to "leave it alone that it was fine". Again I am very sorry for the inconvenience we caused.

Amazing job!! Carlos called me before he arrived and asked me if he could come early. And arrive early he did soon after. In less than 2 hours time, he was able to replace 3 outdated chandeliers with a new light fixture and also take down an additional outdated chandelier in the breakfast area and replace it with a cap. I am so pleased with the service and professionalism that Carlos provided. In fact, we plan on hiring Courtesy Electric again (hopefully we can request Carlos specifically) to assist us with replacing more light fixtures/ceiling fans very soon (as soon as we purchase our replacement fixtures/ceiling fans)! Thank you so much!

We got the angies list deal for 2 hours. We told them via email what we wanted. At the end of the 2 hours, we were not informed that the work was not done and that he continued working to wrap up the job for about 10 minutes. I would have told him to leave at the 2 hour mark. He charged the whole hour at $189. Therefore I paid about $360 to get one tv outlet installed. He did end up capping a chandelier since i had to pay for the whole wasted hour anyways but definitely would not use them again. STAY AWAY.

This is false!! We would never ever tell a customer after the 2hrs is up that the work was not done and that we you need to pay extra. I was the electrician who went to your house. I specifically told you that the work will take more than 2 hours I told you up front that the cost will be an additional $189 after the 2hrs were up. Both you and your husband agreed to get the work done. You needed a coax run from the garage all the way up to your living room. I needed to get some parts. You both were informed about the extra cost. Please before you write a review and Bash my company try to get your facts straight. I will be talking to Angie's List to remove this rating. If you did not like the pricing beforehand you could have simply told me that you could not afford it and you would have gotten a full refund.

I felt Victor was honest with me. However, he felt It was not necessary to continue checking the entire house. He confirmed what I thought all along that the sub-contractor hired men off the street that had no experience and did "shoddy" work. I have had repairs and replacements over the almost ten years I've lived in this house. Yes, I would use Victor again.
Description of Work: After checking just a small number of outlets, Victor showed me a picture of how the wiring for the outlets should properly be wired. I told him sparks wer coming from my Foyer outlet and I had my handyman check the outlet. He found the unit had not been screwed down, He also checked my outlet where my TV was plugged in. I kept getting the message "No Reception." He tightened the screws. Last year I had ADT install a security system. He found the ground wire was not attached to anything. Victor discussed with me a couple of plans to overhaul my outlets. The more expensive one would replace existing outlets with fire-safe ones. I'm putting that on hold as I have to replace my refrigerator that has mold in it and the water dispenser is not working. I also have to replace my front bathroom floor as more tiles cracked after having six tiles replaced.. I was told the original installers did not put a buffer down.
