Closets By Design - Washington DC Metro

I love my closets. It was really worth the money to do it and now am living in a much more organized space. Debbie Cantrell was wonderful to work with- she is very creative and had great ideas. She also was extremely flexible and helped cater to my exact needs. She worked with me very closely and helped determine what best fit my needs. My closets have drawers, built in shelves, hanging space which is in segments, jewelry drawer, ,ironing board, valet rods, belt rod. It is an improvement to my house but also something that I live with on a daily basis and makes me happy when I use it everyday. The kids closets are great as well- with drawers and low hangers for them to reach. The closets are amazing and every day when I get dressed I feel like I am "going shopping" in my closet. The entire process was very smooth - everything was timely and easy, the installers were great. I was very impressed that they kept to the date and got it complete in 1 1/2 days. After the installation Debbie came out to assess my space and helped me make sure I was utilizing the space effectively. She is a pleasure to work with and extremely helpful. Overall, I would highly recommend Closets by Design and Debbie Cantrell.

They did not install everything and I am having trouble getting them back. They did not bring the doors to one of the tall cabinets they were supposed to install. They told us they would get back to us so we are chasing them down trying to get the doors. This is the second time I have used them but I am waiting until this situation is resolved until I decide whether to use them again.

It was a very good experience. They were prompt, professional, and efficient. They were great from the beginning to the end. We were very pleased with their service. I would recommend their services to anyone.

They came our for about an hour. They went through everything and showed me a possible design. I was pleased. They came out promptly. The only reason we didn't move forward with them is because I realized I need some more remodeling done before I can work on the closets. I wasn't pleased with the quality of the material they used. Their wood didn't look very nice.

I don’t remember how much we spent on their service. They were quick and efficient. The overall experience with them was very good. Their price was average. We will use their services again in the future.

The measurement for the closet was not quite accurate. So I went to the container store. I got a better price through the container store. Even though her measurements were bad, she was still really good about being professional and she did the estimate really well. I will not use her services again in the future.

The price was good and competitive. The designer came up with a good design and she did a really good follow up. I was really impressed by the design. The installer too did a really good job.

Debbie my designer was extremely professional. She listened to my complaints about my current set up and really studied what I had in my kitchen pantry to decide what the best design was. She asked me a ton of good questions and really got a feel for what I wanted and what would best suit my needs. She drew up some plans before she left and asked for my input. She got back to me extremely quickly with a quote and listen to my scheduling needs and concerns. She followed up with me without being pushy and she remembered my work schedule when it came time to schedule the work to be done. I enjoyed working with Debbie and her crew was professional quick and did great work. I am loving my pantry and I am really enjoying my pull out drawers. I am the envy of all my friends. I

They team arrived on time and were done by the end of the day. All work was accomplished at one time in a very professional manner. We really enjoy the added space provided and the upgraded appearance of the rooms. Very good job.

The closets turned out great. The first project turned a large storage room into a walk-in closet; the second made better use of the space in a closet shared by two children. The designer, Oleg, did a great job creating a design that best utilized our space. The installer did a great job -- he was efficient and friendly, and went above and beyond what I thought he would do (finding a way to hide a long and troublesome cable, taking down a huge tool board we had forgetten to take down the day before). My only "con" would be that the designer seemed a bit too impatient to have us commit immediately to the job, when we needed time to think about the project. Closets by Design matched the price of a competitor, but added more storage space -- both hanging and shelving. I will definitely use this company again if we decide to work on additional closets.

I think they did a great job. They did fine work. The installation was good. They were on time. I thought they were a little more expensive than I expected.

I called and set up appointment for closet design. The sales rep arrived and told me he would have a price to me by wednesday of the following week. Wednesday came and went I called and was told I would get the quote next day. I recieved it 2 day later and boy was I suprised. It wasnt worth the wait. 22k for closet systems. I had recieved 3 other quotes and this was by far 10k more than all others. I picked another company who's price came in at 11,500.00.

She had good ideas but the salesperson was a little pushy.

We had two meetings with the designer, Rob. The first meeting was free design and estimate which I scheduled through the website. Rob came out to our house within 3 days. He was on time and extremely professional. He took measurements, and talked to us about our expectations. We are just moving into our house, so our closets were empty, making it difficult for him to see how much stuff we really need to organize, but he recommended a design that would make the most of a small space. We had two other estimates from other companies, and we decided to go with Closet by Designs based on the system (full floor to ceiling system verus just a hanging system) and the design he recommended, and the reviews on Angie's List. Closets by Design estimate was $350 more than the lowest competitor, but Rob was willing to work on the price with us. Rob visited us a second time once we selected the company and he confirmed the measurements of the closets and the designs. We discussed the final price and payment options (we used financing), payed the down payment and scheduled the installation. The installation date was set for 3 weeks later on 1 Sept. On 1 Sept, a two-man crew arrived and worked for 7 hours to install all three systems. They laid down carpet protection from the front door to the closets and worked non-stop. They removed the previous wire hanging system (and offered to dispose of it for us) and set about installation. We had some tricky features in our closet (including strange cut outs and a weirdly placed light switch) which they flawlessly worked around. In the master closet, we had requested full backing on the system, and the light switch for the attic access was in the way (which I did not realize and was not noted on the design plans), Santiago did not bring this to my attention as a problem, he just cut the backing and made it fit beautifully, he did not complain to me, or say it couldn't be done. Amazing! I am absolutely thrilled about what an amazing professional job they did. The installers stayed until the job was done (7pm at night) completely cleaned up including patching holes (they don't paint) vacuuming, etc. I was left with 3 very sturdy, level, professionally built closets. This is exactly what I needed, and it at least doubled my usuable space, and certainly added value to my house. I can also go back to Closets by Design and get extra attachments if I need (including more hanging rods, hooks) if I want to change the configuration. They gave me a ton of shelves (way more than the other quotes, so make sure you compare like to like when comparing estimates). I am absolutely pleased with everyone that I dealt with at Closets by Design, their professionalism, the workmanship and the final product. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Our designer, Debbie, was absolutely awesome. I liked her and her ideas from the beginning - she was very patient with me, a very anal customer, and that is very much appreciated. THe crew was wonderful as well, resolving an issue with gas pipes quickly and painlessly, and going the extra mile in all respects. They were done in a day although the job was originally scheduled for two.

Excellent work from start to finish. We could not have been more pleased with the experience with our designer (Kathy) and the time she took to meet with us and discover exactly what we wanted and needed. The price was very reasonable, especially when compared to other providers in this market. I was impressed by the actual work and installation as well. The workers were clean, efficient, and left the house in good order. Bottom line: this is one of the best upgrades we have made on our home. It dramatically increased our closet space and looks very, very attractive. Could not give Closets by Design a higher recommendation.

It went smoothly, they worked quickly. They made a mistake and when it was pointed out they came back right away to correct the problem and rebuild the cabinet.

We have much better use of the space and the look is solid and clean. The only problem was in the design. In a couple of cases, the designer did not think through the consequences of where he proposed to position bars and baskets, so we have a couple of very expensive baskets left over. And, they did not have all their materials on hand (despite a long lead time from design to installation) and that should have been avoided. But, given the need, we would use them again.

These guys are great. They know their business and they provide terrifc customer service. The closet looks great. I can really find things now. The best part though was working with their staff and getting to see how exceptionally organized they are. The gentleman who came out to help me figure out what I wanted and needed was patient (I didn't have a clue) and knowledgeable. Santiago and Miguel, the installers, were magnificent. Beautiful job - on time, no mess, pleasant personalities. You couldn't ask for better.

I had a very good experience working with Closets By Design. The only thing that I did not like was that I called when they were having a special for a significant amount of money off so I had to decide that day. I would have liked more time to make the decision. The young lady who worked with me did a good job of listening to what I had to say and designing what I actually wanted. In retrospect there are some things that I would change, but there are things that I did not think about until I started using the closets. The project turned out exactly how they said that it would. They were here when they said that they would be and they were finished when they said that they would be. Everything was done in one day like they estimated. They did all of the work and left my home in very good condition. The price was a little bit more than I planned on spending, however I was not unhappy with the price at all.

They did such great work. They did the work about two and ? years ago. They did the job to my specifications with some suggested solutions. The job went excellent. They were very professional, explained all options available, we discussed what I did not want and they asked what I wanted. They cleaned up after themselves. They also stuck to their estimate.

I couldn't have been more thrilled. The closet designer sat down with me for over an hour designing closets to fit my exact needs - I didn't feel like I was getting a cookie cutter closet at all. Installation went smoothly and was done in less than a day. Everyone was very professional and organized.

They came out one day and did some measurements and gave us a price at that time, which we agreed to. They came back two weeks later and did the installation in one day. The price was very good compared to others that we had gotten. We were very pleased.

From the designer Philip to the installer Chris, my experience with this company was top notch. Both designer and installer were on time, and also called me prior to let me know they were on their way. The finished product is exactly what I had hoped for. I am so incredibly impressed with Chris's work and his professionalism that I highly recommend him as an installer. I have other closet remodels to do in the future and I will have this company do the work.
