Description of Work: They came out to measure and then provide estimates for removing formica countertops (60 square feet) and installing level 2 (Dallas White) granite tops with stainless steel sink. They were exactly on target $ and quality with another company and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I chose the other company simply because I had a personal reference from a friend.

Description of Work: We had luna pearl installed on our kitchen and mudroom cabinets. We also did some customized soapstone remnant work to top off our half separation wall between the kitchen and family room along with the soapstone that was picture framed into the hardwood floor in front of the fireplace. The company educated us on the materials we eventual chose. |My wife and I only have the highest of recommendations for Blue Isle Granite and Tile. Ike and his workers were prompt, on time, detailed and thorough for the kitchen and mudroom installation and provided us excellent recommendations throughout the process. Tamara, his wife ran the home office like clock work and was always available for coordination, pricing, availability of materials. This company will work with you for custom work . Can't say enough on how well the experience was.

Great. See above.
Description of Work: I bought a new sink. When the plumber came, it turned out that the cut-out in my granite countertop needed to be enlarged slightly. I called a few companies, but they would only do it if they had installed the granite. Problem is, I don't know who installed the granite because it was here when we bought the house. I called Blue Isle and they were willing to come out right away while the plumber was still at my house! The price was more than fair. It just doesn't get better than that.

We plan to put our house on the market next summer; therefore, we are updating/upgrading in manageable increments. We wanted granite countertops for the kitchen, so I checked "Angie's List" for recommendations. I called Blue Isle to schedule an estimate for kitchen countertops. Ike, the owner, arrived on time and listened to what we, as customers, wanted for our kitchen. He used graph paper to indicate the exact dimensions of the countertops, built--in desk area and cooktop island. He then sat down with us and explained exactly what work would be performed. He recommended that we extend the island and countertops by a few inches - which we did. He indicated that he would work up an estimate and email it to us - which he did in a very timely manner. He suggested a company for granite - EuropaStone Distributors. We visited their showroom and made our selection. By the way, we would definitely recommend Europastone because of their extensive selection of granite and their knowledgeable staff. We then went to Ferguson's to purchase a faucet. Note: This company is very "high end", and eventhough we purchased a faucet from Ferguson's, we probably could have gotten something similar at Home Depot for less. Tamara was our Blue Tile POC for this project. We emailed and spoke by phone several times. She is very easy to talk to and immediately responds to inquiries. Our installation date/time was scheduled. Ike and his team of two, removed the old laminate countertops without damaging cabinets or walls; laid the granite; leveled the slabs; sealed the seams (The seams are imperceptible.); caulked; sealed the granite (twice); vacuumed the floor and removed ALL debris. The entire job from arrival to departure took about 5 hours. The workmanship is remarkable. Ike truly takes pride in his craft. He is personable, listens, recommends (realizing that the customer makes the final decision) and follows through. This level and degree of professionalism is rarely seen and therefore, greatly appreciated. It should be noted that Ike was on site from start to finish. He possesses the knowledge and skills that inspire confidence in his ability to "do the job right the first time". We highly and unequivocably recommend Blue Isle Granite and Tile. You get what you pay for, and we got quality workmanship and expertly installed granite countertops. As far as we are concerned, the "final answer" is Blue Isle Granite and Tile:)
Description of Work: Blue Isle Granite and Time performed the following services: initial estimate (free) from owner of company - Ike itemized contract; 50% deposit required upon signing contract and prior to start of work date and time for installation plumber to connect new sink & disposal included in contract removal/disposal of old countertop, sink, disposal

What a fantastic experience. Ike and Tamara know the definition of customer service. They accomodated every request we had and Ike even met us at the Granite store to assist us in selection and any questions we had. I cannot be happier with the service they both provided. This company is hands down one of the best I have dealt with in a very long time. Ike's knowledge with granite is only surpassed by his customer service. Tamara called us on her day off to help answer any questions we had. The total experience was without question the best. I highly recommend this company for all your granite needs.

Tamara is terrific. She was very flexible and helpful. Our timeline was plagued with delays from our cabinet maker and Blue Isle handled it very well. They were able to install right away after the cabinets arrived. Ike is a pro, his measurements were right on and the granite looks perfect. The plumber completed his work quickly and correctly. Thank you so much Blue Isle!!!

Tamara got back to us very quickly after our inquiry and Ike came to see us with some granite samples like nothing you see in the Home Depot or Lowes! We could tell by the way he measured that Ike was a man who pays attention to detail, and we were right. The granite was installed quickly and beautifully. Anytime he had any inkling that something may not be perfect (like my crooked lazy susan) he made sure to point it out to me. And really, it looks perfect. He asked me where I wanted the seam and it's barely noticeable. Somehow there are even black markings (matching the granite) going over the seam. He was very meticulous in describing what we would get and kept me in the loop along the way with any changes or problems. We had some difficulty in deciding our tile, and when we needed to cancel our first appointment, they gave us no problem and even offered to talk to the tile store about refunding our money. They also offered some help in choosing a grout color. Ike only had one assistant and he was always there to make sure everything went right. This is a man who wants his work to look good and he wants you to love it.

We asked Blue Isle for an estimate on Tuesday, June 1 and it was installed Saturday, June 5th and ready to be shown at an Open House (for sale) on Sunday, June 6th by noon. Blue Isle was sympathetic and responsive to our needs when we called them June 2nd to inquire as to prices on granite counters to update our kitchen asap. We explained that we wanted to address potential buyer's comments about our "dated" kitchen. Blue Isle seemed to care as much as we did about getting our kitchen and powder room upgraded with granite in time for the open house. We got an rough estimate the same day that we spoke to them (June 2), Ike came over to professionally measure June 3rd, and all was installed on the afternoon of Saturday, June 5th. Our kitchen and powder room looked amazing by Saturday night. We got a lot of very nice compliments on the new look to our kitchen at the Sunday open house. The job that Blue Isle Granite did for us, in such a short time, was nothing short of amazing. The plumber was fastidious in his attention to detail - he stayed late Saturday night to do the work and even returned Sunday morning as he didn't have a part he needed to complete the job. We feel that Blue Isle Granite is a company that we can wholeheartedly recommend to friends and family.
Description of Work: Four areas were refaced with verde uba tuba granite counters: -desk surface (66"W X 25" deep, backsplash 3 3/4"); -powder room counter & sink (31" W X 22" 4 3/4" backsplash) -L shaped counter w/double stainless sink (122 1/2"L X 25"W 3 3/4" backsplash) -Island w/cooktop (67" W X 26" L) Blue Isle removed existing laminate, replaced with new granite, installed new sinks in kitchen and bath, and replaced plumbing in kitchen as needed. Price included all install, delivery, parts except that we purchased faucets on our own.

Dealing with Blue Isle was incredibly simple. I put in a request for an estimate on Blue Isle's website. Within the hour Tamara contacted me asking for some more details regarding my job. Very shortly thereafter she emailed me an estimate which was the lowest quote I had received at that point. We set up a measurement. The man doing the measurement, Ike, also did the install and was very professional. From the time of my intial inquiry to the actual install maybe 10 days elapsed. That's quite good. My guess is if I had been available during the day it could have been an even quicker turn around. I have contracted out for a number of different projects both large and small and Blue Isle has easily been the one of the best firms I have dealt with and certainly the most responsive. The job itself was everything we had asked for and we were quite pleased. Excellent customer service, great work.
Description of Work: Blue Isle fabricated and installed a two sink vanity countertop. The countertop was Absolute Black granite and had two sink cut outs. Additionally there was a 3" backsplash along the back and on one side. The total square footage was 12' 7".

I had my kitchen remodeled with new cabinets, and wanted to install new countertops and a tiled backsplash as well. I contacted Blue Isle Granite & Tile via their website. Tamara responded within 24 hours. Ike stopped by a few days later to take measurements based on the old cabinets and discuss the tile layout. The final measurements could not be made until the new cabinets are installed. During the whole estimate process I sent many emails and Tamara always answered them promptly. Tamara and Ike gave me such a good level of comfort that I did not hesitate to put down a deposit to get the Silestone materials ordered ahead of time to minimize the turnaround time between final measure and installation. After the new cabinets were installed, Ike did the final measurements on a Wednesday, and installed the new counter tops on the following Tuesday. The tiled backsplash happened later, after being delayed by the blizzard of 2010. Ike personally supervised the countertops installation. His crew did a great job installing and caulking around the countertops. There was one side of the countertop running against an oven cabinet where I knew there would be a gap because I did not want to cut into the cabinet stile. I was planning to put a piece of scribe moulding there, but his crew caulked that gap with color matched caulk so well I did not have to do anything else. The main counter top came in two pieces and Ike seamed the two pieces of Silestone himself. After a thorough clean up, the seam was practically invisible. Ike also suggested various minor adjustments to my original design in the areas of overhang, radius corners, etc., that turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. Ike installed the tiled backsplash himself. I was really concerned about a quality installation because there would be a lot of precision cuts, in addition to using a specific type of grout that, according to my research, could be temperamental in inexperienced hands. I needn't worry. Ike was a pro. The backsplash he installed really anchors the whole kitchen and makes it pop. Blue Isle also recommended an electrician who was professional, reasonable, and suggested a better way to solve my disposal switch problem. Overall, Ike's expertise and Tamara's outstanding service was truly essential in bringing our kitchen design to life.

Blue Isle Granite and Tile is a family owned business. Ike, the owner, has been working in the industry for a long time. Ike, showed up on time and we discussed what we were interested in. We are preparing our home to put on the market so we wanted a reasonably priced but nice granite. He carried samples with him and talked us through the process end to end. He answered all our questions and showed us pictures of work he had performed for others. We told him we were interested in a quote. He took very very precise measurements (this took a while) and provided us with a written quote the next day. Based on a couple of other verbal "ball park" estimates, I thought his estimate was very reasonable. Tamara, Ike's wife, forward the contract to me the following day. One thing that I recommend - the samples are small and I was a little nervous about the color that I selected so I quickly made a trip to Home Depot to see if they had a sample of what I selected - they did and it had just a bit more of a green tint to it than I wanted. So I called Tamara quickly and they were able to make the change, no problem (this had to be done quickly before they started work on the counter tops). On installation day, Ike and his team showed up on time and did a great job of demolition and installing and leveling my counters. The granite slabs were cut perfectly and fit together nicely. The leveling turned out to be a real challenge (my original counters were not even close to being level) but I'm really happy with how it all turned out. They carried off the old stuff and did a good clean up before they left. Ike and his team were very nice and I enjoyed watching them work. Oh, I should add - this was a very fast process. Ike came out the day after I called - the counter tops installation was complete early the following week! And, Tamera stayed in contact with me all along the way to include a follow up call to that everything had gone well. My husband and I are very happy with our new countertops - they are beautiful!

We had a couple of estimates from different companies. Blue Isle's estimate was in the middle of the range. Blue Isle was easy to contact, get revised estimates (with the changes during the renovation), and schedule an installation. They also brought an assortment of granite samples according to our tastes and price range when measuring for the estimate. The estimate for the granite included removal of old countertop, installation of new granite, and sealing. There is an additional FLAT RATE fee for plumbing, but was listed in the estimate so there were no surprises. We could have gotten a better "deal" with another company, but we wanted an honest company that would do a great job. For the installation, they showed up on time and had our new countertop installed & sealed in less than 3 hours. We absolutely love our new countertop! We highly recommend them for your countertop needs.
