In the middle of some kitchen renovations, we learned that a sink that we had bought to replace the existing sink was too large for the hole in our granite countertop. This was only after the old sink had been pulled out so we were without a functioning kitchen sink. I called Blue Isle on the afternoon of August 5 and spoke to co-owner Tamara who promised to speak with Ike, the other co-owner, to see if they would be able to cut the countertop in place so that the new sink could be installed. Tamara called me back in less than 15 minutes and confirmed that they could do the job the following afternoon. On August 6, Ike came on time with a two man crew and went to work. He measured the new sink and the space where it would have to go and commenced cutting. Within an hour, the job was done, the sink was fitting properly into the countertop, and Ike and his crew had cleaned up the dust created by the cutting operation. Blue Isle's responsiveness and quality of work were both excellent. We would use them for other stone and tile work without question.

Fantastic! Love them. Ike and Tamara were great to work with. The countertops turned out beautiful. Ike came out to measure our old kitchen counters and when he returned with his crew to install them, they fit perfectly. They give you 3 different companies to choose the granite or quartz from. You can go to any of the three company's showroom and pick out exactly what you want. Based on that, they give you an estimate. The work is done professionally and fast. Only had to take a half day off work for installation. I will definitely choose them for any future work.

Ike and the crew arrived "on-time" during the timeframe I expected them. They quickly removed all the old countertops and prepped the areas of the granite and kept cleaning up after themselves the whole time. They carefully brought in all the granite with one piece weighing over 900 lbs. They took great care to protect our hardwood floors the entire time. I could not be more happy with their professionalism. The job looks fantastic! This finished a renovation of our kitchen that has taken several years from painting, to cabinet painting, to hard wood floors to appliance replacement. The kitchen looks awesome and the granite was the final touch!
Description of Work: Installed 5 separate slabs and trim of Blue Pearl Silver granite (80 square meters) in our kitchen along with a stainless steel undermount sink. They removed all the old formica tops and a piece of granite that we had installed on our island several years ago.

Blue Isle did an amazing job. A ++ rating. The finished result was top notch. They also worked with me coming to my house on three separate occasions to work measurements. The owner Ike, came out for the install and did a wonderful job. The small details he did with the colored caulk to match the wood was just one of the little extra things Ike did to make my counters look wonderful. He explained in great detail everything he was doing down to the seam (which by the way you cant even see it). Wonderful Wonderful job. Highly recommend.

I had purchased a '$250 for $500' discount through Angie's List, based on all of the 'A' reviews. I wanted to replace the countertop in the condo I was selling with granite. Although I no longer lived there, I had a General Contractor (GC) working in the condo, and provided his info for access. 'Tamara' from Blue Isle contacted me the next day to schedule an appointment for 'Ike' to take measurements. She then advised me to select materials from several suppliers that they work with, and scheduled the work once she had received my mailed payment for half of the estimated total. Ike arrived promptly and met with my GC to install the countertop w/sink. I didn't have any direct contact with 'Ike' myself, but my GC seemed impressed with the installation, which apparently went smoothly. The countertops looked fantastic, and I would say that I was very happy with the end result. Although the price was slightly more than I had budgeted, even with the discount, I feel that my money was well-spent, on quality work. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Blue Isle for additional work.

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW ENTIRELY. Ike-the owner came to give me an estimate. He was very professional and I knew he knew exactly what he was doing. He made some great suggestions and told me what to look for when getting granite-no seams. Every time I called to talk to his wife about anything she was awesome. Highly professional, courteous and very on top of things. They laid my granite while I was not at home. I came back while they were working on the fireplace. I noticed a stain on the hearth. They were putting in my fireplace surrounding in 3 pieces. Ike had already warned me that there should not be seams. They were piecing in the top part and it did not fit. I looked at Ike and said "it doesn't fit." He looked me directly in the eyes and said "IT fits perfectly." I sat and watched for a few minutes and knew that they must have felt uncomfortable. I knew they would make it right so I left to run an errand. Tamara called and said there was a stain on the hearth and Ike would be back to fix it the next day.I had seen it too. This was ALL she talked about so I assumed they made the rest of the fireplace fine. When I got home, they had used two smaller pieces of scrap granite, slid the unfitting top piece over to the right and the glue was sticking out. I took pictures and sent it and called. Immediately Tamara got back to me and said "don't worry about it Ike is going to redo the whole thing tomorrow!" I was fine with that. The thing that I didn't like was that Ike had looked in my eyes and said "it fits perfectly," when it obviously did not. I don't like to be lied to. Also that afternoon he shut my dishwasher in front of me...it didn't fit the way it used to. So the next day Ike showed up about an hour and a half later than he said he was going to. I realized my dishwasher did not shut well. If I had left it, it would have warped. A general contractor came in to do my plumbing. He put in my faucet only to realize that it sounded like a chainsaw when you pulled the faucet out. I had to then go out and get my own faucet that morning on the spot! When I looked up the type of faucet that would have gone in it was a builders grade Triangle brand faucet that was bought in bulk for about $40.00 or less per faucet. It was a builders grade faucet that I was being charged $200.00 for. I know that it was bought in bulk because Tamara told me that she had seen a ton of those faucets in the garage or somewhere. She said they usually did not have trouble with them. I went and bought my own name brand Moen for $190.00. To Tamara and Ike's credit they were willing to immediately give me back my money on that. So when Ike finally showed up he immediately gave me attitude. I went and showed him my concerns about the fireplace granite. The attitude continued, as he acted highly p***** off and raised his voice both at me and at the general contractor in my home. He even seemed angry about the faucet and said "well what is wrong with this????" THe showdown continued as I asked him if I had made him mad. He said that I was "rubbing his nose in his work." I'M SORRY, BUT AT WHAT POINT DO YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO HAVE ANY ATTITUDE OR YELL AT ME IN MY OWN HOME AFTER I HAVE JUST PAYED YOU $3200????? We changed the way the granite was going to be layed on the fireplace. Ike was willing to do it but after much convincing. He felt that it would be fine to glue it directly to the already existing tile. 3 other contractors had told me to rip out the tile. They had all said that eventually it would fall off of the tile. This was evidenced by how easily it was removed. Ike was worried about the drywall falling off. But, all you have to do is replace the drywall. The GC that was there actually said he was worried to leave me alone, due to Ike's temper and stayed the whole time. I called Tamara and told her how uncomfortable this made me feel. Suddenly Ike's tune changed and he was back to being nice. HE wanted me to check out the fireplace to make sure it looked ok. There was a CRACK in the bottom of the granite. They put caulking in it. It's in a place that you would not notice. But still, how do you crack granite? I didn't pay for cracked granite! I wasn't going to make a big deal over it.Not after the way my feedback had been taken from before. I was too rattled. I found spots on the carpet where the guys has spilled caulking on it and one spot that looked faintly like blood. There is now a groove on the top of my dishwasher where it did not shut properly. Ike had to have known about this because he shut it right in front of me and it definitely did not close properly and easily. Also, Ike didn't know how long the seal on the granite lasted. Tamara told me to go to Home Depot (although that is not the place where they get their granite. But, she told me this b/c they have 10 year seal. I was just wondering why their ten year seal at Home Depot mannered when they don't use HD's granite? After the fact Tamara told me that the seal is 7 years give or take. The day became one thing after another. It should have been smooth. It makes me wonder if I had not called Ike out on the top of the fireplace if he would have replaced it. He said that he told me he was coming back....HE never did. He said that he told Tamara that and she said maybe she had just misunderstood. Tamara only told me he was coming back to replace the hearth. But then after I said something about the whole thing she said he would replace it all. They scratched a place on my fireplace and did not sand it out or repaint it. The wooden mantel now has seam like crack marks going from the inner corners of the mantel. SYNOPSIS: The granite looks beautiful! He did a really great job overall. -A voice should never be raised especially in my own home and especially over Ike's mistakes or cheap faucet. I hired him. -Ike did stand behind his work and knew what he was doing. -Not sure why my fireplace was going to be put in in 3 pieces when Ike told me don't get a company that will put seams in. -Ike told me that he hated doing fireplaces because they are the toughest. The General contractor I hired told me they are the EASIEST things to do. -Not sure why Ike didn't fess up to his mistake (about the top piece not fitting) when I said something about it in the first place. Don't know why he looked me in the eyes and said "it is perfect." As if I couldn't see it? -Get your own faucets. They use builders grade faucets and upcharge you alot! -Ike was very professional when he took my estimate and drew everything out. -Tamara was professional the whole way through. -Tamara called that night to ask if everything was ok. I was so over having one thing after the other go wrong I didn't mention the spots on the carpet or scratch they made on the wooden mantel on the fireplace. -For the granite alone they did great, but many problems happened during the fireplace installation. I am laid back and if Ike had just fessed up immediately I wouldn't have been bothered. The phone call the day of the installation was just to discuss Ike fixing the hearth. -As far as the final work..granite alone I would give them an A. But,due to all of the problems...faucets, dishwasher, stainS, TEMPER, crack in the granite etc I'm giving them a C. I would give Tamara an A for professionalism although she made me feel like some of the questions I asked were a little silly! Other than that she was great!

While we understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this review is concerning to me because there are things that are written that are clearly not true. As a company we pride ourselves in being an honest and ethical company while providing the best job possible. We even go above and beyond at times to help our clients without charging them extra for the work we perform. For example, Ike agreed to make the sink piece without a joint knowing that it would be a lot harder for him and his crew to walk up a narrow flight of stairs to get to your condo. However, he did it because you did not want any seams in you counter tops. One the day of installation Ike noticed that the dishwasher door did not go all the way down because your stove was in the way. After examining the situation, he told you that he could push the stove back a little and move the dishwasher to the left a little bit so that the dishwasher door would go all the way down. This is an example of going above and beyond to help our client because we CARE without charging extra. You were thrilled he did this for you and Ike recollects you even saying, “On my Gosh Ike, Thank you so much!” It is also for this reason that Ike was “by the dishwasher" as we do not move it during installation. Ike also installed brackets that you had purchased for you as a courtesy for no extra charge! We also agreed to install your kitchen, vanity and fireplace 4 days sooner than the contract date because you were concerned that it was too close to the date of your party. When you spoke with Ike regarding the fireplace, he was in the process of trying to install it and to figure out what was going on with the pieces that make up the fireplace surround. He did not “lie” to you. If you would not have left the house and asked Ike to lock up when he was done he would have been able to discuss his plans of returning to replace both the hearth and the surround for you directly. When I called you to discuss that Ike did not feel that the hearth was up to his standards and wanted to replace it, I did not know that the surround was an issue as I was not at the job site. However, after receiving your call, I immediately spoke with Ike and he said that he was replacing the surround as well. As you can see from the numerous reviews that we have received we do not do sub par work. We strive for excellence and if something is not right we ALWAYS fix it right away. We take extreme pride in our work and would not do anything to anyone’s home that we would not do to our own! As a company we try to take care of any issues that may arise as soon as possible. It is for that reason that we had our crew come to work on Saturday morning to recut the pieces and install them instead of waiting until Monday. We do not typically work or schedule installations on Saturdays. The reason Ike was late is because they were still finishing your job for you and I called you to let you know that Ike would arrive later than he originally anticipated. Furthermore, you keep referring to the PLUMBER as a GC (general contractor) when your email to me clearly states that you hired your own plumber because you wanted to save some money on the plumbing. The following is the email that I received from you on the 5th stating that fact, “I found a plumber! 350 for both sinks unless the bathroom sink gets crazy in which case it would not get up to 500 total! Thanks so much for your help :-)” Ike does not know about plumbing and would never tell the plumber how to do his job so it is not up to a plumber to tell him how to install granite. Furthermore, I personally do not understand why someone would trust a plumber over a granite expert. If Ike did not feel that the granite would stay on top of the tile HE WOULD NEVER DO OR RECOMMEND IT. If Ike seemed, annoyed or upset it was because the plumber was trying to tell him how to do his job, however he DID NOT yell as he would never do that to a client. He would also never say that you were “rubbing his nose in his work” because he does not use those words. Despite the way the plumber was acting, Ike remained professional and stayed to finish your job. He also took the tile off the fireplace to make you happy even though it was not necessary and would normally be an additional charge. When we installed the new granite on the fireplace surround we actually made it one piece instead of three and there was no CRACK at that time. If there was we would not have brought it or installed it that way because “cracks” only get worse not better! I am also sure that if you felt there was a crack you would have addressed it with us right away because according to your own words, “I didn’t pay for cracked granite!” With respect to the faucet, I DO NOT buy them in bulk and NEVER said that I have a ton of them. I typically purchase 4-5 at a time from my sink supplier so that I have them on hand at our shop as we have many clients that purchase them. Furthermore, we have never had an issue with them before. In response to the seal, Ike knows how many years our seal lasts and was never asked that question. I did receive an email from you asking, “How long will the seal on the granite last? Is it a 10 year or 15 year seal?” My response was, “Our seal typically lasts 5-7 years.” I NEVER mentioned anything about Home Depot and why would I as I do not work for Home Depot and your counter tops were not installed by them. I typically call my clients to follow up after we have completed an installation. If there were any additional issues they should have been addressed at that time as I cannot fix what I do not know about. I am glad that you are happy with the overall project but I am extremely disheartened that there are so many untrue statements in this review. If we were not honest and did not stand behind our product we definitely would not have 112 reviews from former clients commending our work.

The project went well from start to finish. When I explained to Tamara that I was upgrading the home for resale, she arranged for Ike to bring out several builder's grade samples in the color family I indicated. Ike arrived promptly, quickly took all measurements, and discussed the details, such as edges, faucets, and plumbing work. There was never any pressure to commit. The estimates - reasonable based on my research- arrived shortly thereafter, and were based on the two samples I'd selected. At my request, Tamara gave me a list of granite companies they used. I picked out a slab, and contacted Tamara to contract for the work and schedule a time. Ike and his assistant arrived promptly and worked non-stop until the job was completed and the worksite meticulously clean. The countertops were fabricated and installed flawlessly. My kitchen is truly transformed. The Blue Isle team is compose of experienced professionals, and Ike is clearly a master at his trade. Next stop: the master bath!

Wonderful job from start to finish. They were professional and the experience was the easiest home improvement we have done. They arrived on time and did a beautiful job. They also installed a new deeper sink to give me more counter space. They also installed a new garbage disposal and the workmanship on everything was outstanding. Tamara was very easy to work with and was always available to answer our questions. Ike was fantastic with the suggestions he made when he did the original estimate and he and the two men transformed my kitchen.

We wanted to update our bathroom with 2 granite countertops, and replacement sinks and fixtures. We found a remnant slab of granite we liked at Blue Isle, and their price quote was less than the other estimate we got. Working with Tamara was a pleasure. She really went "above and beyond" to make sure that we were happy with the result. I voiced some concern about the fact that we only saw one slab of granite, but the job required a second slab which we had never seen. Tamara made sure that the slab was from the same "lot number", which meant that it would be compatible. She sensed that I was still concerned, so she invited us to come to the workroom to view the layout of the granite pieces before they were cut. My schedule made that difficult, so she took the initiative to send pictures of the "layout" on both granite slabs. The granite installation went smoothly and the results look great! In addition, the crew did a fabulous job of clean-up. Tamara coordinated the water hook-up with a plumbing company, cheerfully making several changes to accommodate our schedule. We are so happy with our new bathroom! We would not hesitate to recommend Blue Isle for superb workmanship and customer service that can't be beat!

We had Blue Isle install granite in our master bath, 2 guest bathrooms and a powder room. I went to the warehouse and chose from a wide assortment of beautiful stone. The guys in the warehouse were very patient since I didn't have anything specific in mind and I had 4 bathrooms to choose granite for. Install went smoothly and we are thrilled with results! This was a FANTASTIC experience. I called and needed a rush job on a counter. Tamara was very forthcoming that depending on the granite I wanted, that if I wanted it quickly, I'd have to choose from something they already had in stock and they'd have to have enough to do my job. Ike showed up (very prompt and called when on the way) and measured. He offered me options that he had enough of and would match the colors of my bath. To day it is beautiful is an understatement. Ike and Tamara are so professional and I'm so grateful that they were able to accommodate my rush needs. The bathroom looks beautiful and I couldn't be more pleased. I intend to use them on the next bathroom and the kitchen. They are that good.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with our company. We hope that you are enjoying your new home and we look forward to working with you again soon.
Tamara and Ika are amazing. They were professional at every part of the process, their prices were fantastic, and they were able to install quickly and cleanly. The final installed counter absolutely changed the kitchen. The seams were totally invisible. They provide a standard 6" backsplash where other companies offered 5", and routed the bottom of my window trim to accommodate that larger size. A couple of suggestions for customers having a new counter installed: 1) while they remove the top drawers for you to be able to work on the counter, they do not remove all the drawers, so put towels over the items in your bottom drawers (or remove them also) or you will get sawdust in your pots and things. 2) move everything away from the front door, so it is easier for them to bring the slabs in. Overall a great experience and would not hesitate to recommend, or to use them again.

I looked on Angie's list for granite contractors; I found 3 I contacted and got bids. I also got another name from the contractor doing work in my house. I ended up going with Blue Isles, not because they were the cheapest (which they definitely weren't) but because of Ike, one of the co-owners, and because of the positive reviews on Angie's List. Ike measured the spaces and asked questions that the other companies did not, which showed his knowledge and concern about satisfying the customer. Ike was also present during the installation, to help and to provide oversight for the work. All the folks we encountered during our process were very helpful (above and beyond) and very knowledgable. I love the granite, and yes, I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

The quote was a little over $2800. They got back to me in a timely fashion. He came out, and he told me it would probably be Tuesday and they actually did it on Monday. They broke down all the price for each individual thing for the parts, demolition, and then the backsplash and the bullnose where they need to make it round on the edges. He broke it down; it was very detailed. I don’t have a big kitchen; it's pretty small. Smaller kitchens are harder to work on. I was pretty pleased with the price. He was a little early; he was right on time.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate of how much it would be. They will demolish the tile that is on the kitchen counters and put in a new granite and new sink. The plumber will actually do the installation of the sink.

We can't wait to use Blue Isle Granite again. We had them replace our green marble fireplace surround with granite. The results exceeded our expectations. Blue Isle Granite respected our budget and provided a wonderful experience start to finish. They even called a week later to make sure we loved the result.

Blue Isle was great! Tamara is extremely customer friendly and super responsive with information, responses to questions, and pricing quotes and modifications. This attention to the potential customer immediately set them apart from other fabricators/installers. Ike was super competent, answered all questions, and alleviated all of our concerns. He was very helpful with design questions and every small detail of our project. He did a good job with getting our kitchen back on water from initial measurement to install in 7 days. His measurements were perfect and the install went so smoothly with a great crew. The seam work was beautifully done. Lastly, their contracted plumber was on time, courteous, and very competant in hooking up water, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and reverse osmosis system. Blue Isle will be invited back into our home for bathroom vanity work very soon. Thanks so much.
Description of Work: Installed 67 square feet of Cambria quartz countertops including island, two different edging options.
