Horrendous plumbing service! I recently had the displeasure of hiring Beacon Electric And Plumbing (VA), and it was a complete nightmare from start to finish. Let me share the horrifying details of my experience, which I hope will serve as a warning to others. To begin with, I had made a reservation for the plumbers first visit, only to be left waiting in vain. Beacon Electric And Plumbing dared to cancel at the last minute, leaving me in a lurch. This blatant disregard for punctuality and common courtesy set the tone for the rest of the ordeal. When the plumber finally arrived for the second visit, it became abundantly clear things were not going well. He arrived around 9 am, said he would be in 10 minutes and wandered in an hour later. I had a tiny leak in a pipe, a problem that should have been easily fixable. However, instead of addressing the actual issue, this plumber inexplicably decided that my three-year-old water heater needed to be moved a mere three inches. What followed was a disaster of epic proportions. After touring the house, the plumber decided he needed a break from his few minutes of walking around and said he would be back in an hour and left. Some hours later he returned. He was also very fond of long telephone conversations. After the plumber moved the water heater, he made a swift exit without bothering to check his work. It was not until he was long gone that I discovered my basement was flooding. I spent the entire previous evening worried about a tiny pin leak now in desperation to contain the water, resorting to placing buckets every 30 minutes to prevent further damage. When I called the plumber for assistance, their brilliant advice was to hit the new water valve with a hammer. Unbelievable! Despite their supposed fix, the leaking returned, and by 10:30 pm, I was pulling up rugs and furniture and turning off the water in the house. Turning on the water heater caused an immediate flood in the basement, a problem I had never experienced before the plumbers ill-advised meddling. The timing of this catastrophe makes it hard to believe it was a mere coincidence. It seems clear that the plumbers reckless actions were the cause of this new, devastating problem. As a result of this dreadful experience, as a heart failure patient I was forced to pull up carpets, move all my belongings away from the flooding, and endure an immense amount of stress and inconvenience. To add insult to injury, the plumber had the nerve to assure me that they would fix the problem but failed to follow through. In conclusion, I cannot emphasize enough how utterly disastrous this plumber's service was. Their incompetence, lack of professionalism, and disregard for the well-being of their customers are appalling. I implore anyone in need of plumbing services to steer clear of Beacon Electric And Plumbing, lest they find themselves in a similar nightmare. Worst plumbing service ever.

Response was quick, and arrived within a few hours of initial call. Electricians on site were courteous, and quick to get started. Listened to and acknowledged my input (not dismissive). Found the problem and resolved, which was exactly why I called. They did an excellent job and would definitely recommend. Only small issue? The price was maybe a little high, but I guess you pay for quality work. Asked for a couple quotes for other work, which also seemed a bit high.

Friday was awesome - prompt, professional and got the job done to a high level of quality. Making this a quick turnaround repair same-day was a big help to us, thank you.

This company was very professional. The communication with the office about arrival times the best I’ve ever had with any company previously. The technicians were top notch experts, they explained everything in detail, they provided options that were adjustable to my needs. The only thing that was truly a downside was the cost. I felt the cost of the labor and the markup on the items being installed was on the high side. The quality of work was top notch. I had both electrical and plumbing work done. Two separate technicians were scheduled a day apart to handle the work. The electrician installed 4 GFCI outlets (one was an alarm sounding outlet on the sump pump), 5 regular outlets, 1 light switch, 2 smoke alarms, a new breaker in the box, and a surge protector on the breaker box. He also checked the polarity on all the outlets and found three that were wired with reverse polarity and corrected them. Cost $2,500. The plumber replaced an outside faucet, replaced the pressure reducing valve on the main water line, replaced a main water shut off valve, installed hammer arrestors on the washing machine water lines and replaced the lines. Cost $2,100.

We were given a service window of 8:00 am - noon. Halfway through the window of time I was informed the window would be 1:00-4:00 pm. The electrician arrived after 3:00 and then told me he didnâ t have time to do any part of the job because it was so late in the day. He wanted to move the job to tomorrow. After asking him to do at least one thing, since I rearranged my schedule to wait all day, he did install one light fixture in a closet. That work was fine but the amount of talking we had to do to get to that point was a waste of time. The process that Beacon requires the electrician to go through for any job involves looking at multiple pages on an iPad before the tech returns to the van to write up multiple quotes for the job at hand. It all wastes time the electrician could be working on the project. That being said, the electrician was very nice but the process was excruciating. I also thought the prices were very high. This is the first time I have been disappointed by a company recommended through Angi.

I was very pleased with my experience with Beacon. Our electrician, Chris, was knowledgeable and trustworthy. Compared to other electricians we received quotes from, we chose Beacon because of how courteous the company and its electricians seemed to be! And because Chris worked to offer a variety of solutions to our electrical problem.
