Arlington Fence and Deck Company

Michael provided us an estimate in May 2013. I was impressed because he told us that our fence, although older, was still in good condition. His estimates were good for 30 days. Fortunately, since we contacted him after 30 days, the price just increased by $10. When I called to set up an appointment, they were able to schedule a time within 1 week. Work was done in less than one day. They came early and started working immediately. I was impressed by how they fixed the gap from the ground to the bottom of the fence without having to install a longer board. We had a double gate and changed it to a single gate. They matched the original design of the door. They were able to fix the other door so open, close and lock with ease. Overall, the work was completed quickly and exceeded my expectations. The office, Michael and those who repaired our fence were easy to work with, and professional.

The owner Michael and his crew did an exceptional job on the deck. He provided me with an estimate and it did not change...no surprises. He also had to replace some aluminum siding that was damaged from the old deck and this was done perfectly. He finished on time and cleaned up the entire work site. His crew was very professional and courteous and the quality of the work was exceptional. All the wood was cut and matched perfectly. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a new deck or fence.

After scouting around a bit, we ended up with Arlington. They did a terrific job. They did suggest a way that I could extend the fencing out and up our hill to the side of our house, and they talked about putting in some shelves to stock firewood on. We didn't take advantage of that as it would be a bit more expensive, but it was a great idea that we will consider down the road. Their creativity and willingness to suggest some alternative options for fencing were greatly appreciated.

We had a great experience with Arlington Fence. Estimates: The owner, Michael, came out twice to provide estimates for us--one for replacing our old fence and one for repairing it. We decided to replace it. Michael was responsive to all of our questions, often emailing or calling us back within hours. He accommodated our request to have some of the wood dropped off early so that we could paint it before the fence was installed. Of the four estimates we received, Arlington Fence was not the least expensive but was fairly close, and we chose to go with Arlington Fence because it was clearly superior in terms of customer service than the company that provided the lowest quote. Installation: Removal of the old fence and installation took 1.5 days. The crew was professional and neat. They carefully mapped out the location of the new fence before beginning. It turned out one end of our old fence was on the neighbor's property, and the other end of the neighbor's fence was on our property. The fences may have been built this way because there is a large tree right on the property line. The Arlington Fence crew found a way to build our new fence so that it is on our property and saved the tree--they built the fence around the tree! We were very impressed with their creative and on-the-spot quick thinking. After the new fence was installed, we returned to find our yard clean, with no sign that a crew had just been there. Overall: We are very happy and the new fence looks fantastic!

I called for an estimate to replace a railing . Within three day I received a very competitive bid to replace the railing. A follow up question was also quickly answered. Though I did not complete the project I was impressed with Arlington Fence and Deck company's quick reply and competitive bid.

The service was good. They came out quick. There were some changes that we had to make but they worked well with me and completed the job. The work was fantastic!

Everything was pretty good but the workmanship was not the best I've seen. A few things out of level at the bottom of the fence, nail splits in the wood and the latch was put on a little crooked. They came back and replaced the wood that split due to the nails without a problem. I fixed the latch myself and I figured it was too much trouble to redo the whole fence for a 1/4 tolerance.

The job went very smoothly. The fencing materials took roughly 2 weeks to come in after it was ordered and the fence was installed in one day. The workers were very diligent and went the extra mile to make sure the fence would suit its purpose--to contain our three dogs. We had gotten a couple of quotes that were lower, but we preferred to go with a local company with a good reputation. We were very happy with the results and would recommend Arlington Fence Company very highly.

We recently purchased a house and needed to fence off part of the garden (it was already fenced on three sides but because we have a dog, we needed a fence around the entire perimeter). Arlington Fence Company was very professional, from the person who returned my initial call, to the estimator, to the two guys who put in the fence (they did a great job and were pleasant, to boot), to the office staff. It could not have gone more smoothly.

I was told that they came to perform the consultation for the estimate (I wasn't home, which I let them know beforehand) when I called the next day. I was told that it takes a few days for them to get the estimate together. It's been almost 2 weeks and I haven't heard from them at all; no verbal, no email, nothing.

Michael, Chadd and Judy were meticulous in coordinating the paperwork for a two day install over 12 adjacent properties. Verizon and Comcast had created a giant mess of utility cables on the properties and Jose and his install team somehow deciphered the spray paint symbols. When there was an issue with a cable, they worked on another part of the project instead of sitting down stopping work and waiting for a Verizon supervisor. Workers were on-site by 8:30 and were efficient, professional, patient with last minute questions. They measured and measured measured again to ensure a perfect installation across 12 properties. The work site was kept organized and tidy -- no small accomplishement when replacing fencing in a tight area. Arlington Fence seems to take great pride in their work ethic and responsiveness to clients - all calls or emails were returned within one or two hours. I would use Arlington Fence again in a heart beat. By far the most professional and hard-working fence company that I or anyone in my North Arlington neighboorhood has ever dealt with.

I decided not to use Arlington Fence because of the horrendous customer service experience I had with them. I should note that I used them a few years ago and had a great experience. I was looking to have them install a gate in my back yard. I went to their website and filled out the online form to request a quote. No one ever contacted me. Later, I called them and spoke to a woman (Judy, I think) who set up a time for one of their estimators to come to my house. A few days before the estimator was to come to my house, I wanted to make sure that they could do the estimate without my being at home. I emailed the company to ask. No answer. I called the company and got a third-party answering service. I requested a return call. No return call. I called again and got the answering machine. I left a detailed message. No return call. Finally, I called again on the day of the visit and got the woman on the phone. I asked her if I could avoid being at the house, and she said it was not a problem. I asked if she had gotten my email about this. She said no. I asked if she had gotten the message I Ieft with the answering service. She said no. I asked if she got the voicemail that I left. She hedged and sort of said no but seemed to be unwilling to answer.The estimator came to my house and emailed me very promptly with an estimate, either the day of the visit or the next day. I replied to the email saying, "I authorize this. Do you need a deposit?" Five days later, the estimator still had not replied. I wrote to him again, asking "Did you get my email?" Two more days passed. The estimator never responded. I then got an email from the woman at the office simply saying "Please sign and forward the signed contract. We will also need a 50% deposit to order materials. Please call the office at your earliest convenience with your credit card information. We accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover." I decided that I could not in good conscience reward this kind of customer service. I told them that I had decided to go with another provider and went and got the work done by someone else.

Arlington Fence was great to work with. The only little thing that could of went wrong was that the delivery guy that brought the wood drop off the wrong wood the day before but that was all fixed the day of the installation. The day of the installation the guys that came were very friendly and great to work with. The guys got the right wood delivered that morning and the installation was finished that day. I must say that is great customer service. I got a lot of quotes from different companys and I would have to say that Arlington Fence was the best. Plus the best rated. Their workers are hard workers and make sure that the work is done correctly. The guys that showed up for the job were awesome and were able to answer any questions that I had. I would recommend them to anyone over all of the other companys.

From start to finish, Arlington Fence Company was an absolute joy to work with. They were prompt in providing an estimate, their price was very competitive and their work was flawless. I am extremely happy with their work. This company was prompt, informative and professional.

We contacted three different companies for quotes on our fence. Arlington Fence was very responsive and punctual for the estimate. Chad met with my husband and answered all of our questions and concerns regarding the fence installation and process. We had to balance the requirements of the HOA with our needs and a challenging lot because of where property lines are and where shrubs/trees lined the property lines in addition to pipes for our underground drainage system. Chad addressed all those issues and provided some good solutions for us to consider. Overall however the price was about $200 more than another estimate we received from another highly rated Angie's List vendor. In the end we went with Arlington though because that company was very non-responsive. The crew was timely and did an excellent job on our fence, all of the issues we discussed were addressed. We are very pleased with the fence and have even received compliments from our neighbors.

Except for a little glitch with the estimate, everything went very well. They were able to match one neighbor's metal fence perfectly so the yard looks very nice. The installation was flawless and the installation crew filled all the old post holes as I had asked. They did a great job, the new fence looks good and I would not hestitate to use them again.

We had been working with Jonathon who was very good at getting us the quote, following up in email and getting back to me with questions we had. Because of his professionalism, low price and good reviews we decided to go with them. The crew was supposed to arrive at 10:30 but ended up showing up at 7:15. They were very early which was fine with me. They ended up taking the entire day to finish the project and was done about 4:30 or so. Overall the work they did was good however their clean up left a lot to be desired. In one side where we didn't install the fence they left the existing posts but they did cut down to grade level. This left us to try and remove the old cement pieces so we could sod/grow grass. In the front of the house there was several patches in the grass of left over cement mix that must have spilled out. I understand it had been raining for several days prior but I would have expected the crew to clean up. I thought they would have taken the hose to wash off the mud/clay marks they left however that wasn't done. Several of the boards had to be replaced before they left because they were already split but there wasn't a problem there. There is still 1 section of the fence that needs to be fixed. Also one of their tools still needs to be picked up. Overall I'm happy with the way the fence looks and with their promptness but their cleanup was negative.

Overall experience was great. Chadd, who came by a few weeks prior to do the estimate was punctual and commuicated with me via email in regards to the estimate in a timley manner. Judy, their front office person was also very helpful and answered any questions I had.

The estimator was able to come out within two days of my call, and appeared punctually. He was personable, asked intelligent questions about the site, and gave me an accurate and competitive bid. The following week, a crew of three workmen appeared, as scheduled, with supplies. They were able to finish the job in a morning, figuring out the construction challenges, NOT trampling surrounding plantings, and cleaning up after the work. The guys were very courteous and attentive.

Great customer relations and willing to work with me.

We did not hire Arlington Fence as other estimates we received were slightly lower. However, I did want to report on the professionalism and punctuality of Chadd who came and provided the estimate. He was knowledgeable and even suggested a couple of alternative ideas to keep our costs reasonable but still provide a quality product. Chadd also had an IPad tablet with him and showed us pictures of past projects the company had completed.

Arlington Fence Co., from its office manager and its hard-working builders to its fair prices, punctuality, scheduling flexibility, and end-product quality, is a business I would recommend to close friends and family. I will definitely call this company with any potential fencing need I encounter in the future.
