I received a visit from the estimator who described the services and left me a brochure. He provided me with an electronic email estimate within a day and answered my follow-up questions. The representative was polite and efficient and gave me good advice on self-packing and locating inexpensive packing materials which I did use.

The movers showed up early but waited outside until I was ready. They put mats down everywhere. They were clean and professional and sweet to my children. The head man spoke with me first to understand what was important to me. They were quick and really organized with the moving. The not only cleaned up their mess but helped me clean up too! It all went so smooth and flawlless I just couldn't believe it! I've always hated moving before this.

They came and gave a very detailed estimate.. Of the three companies I got estimates from, they were hands down the most courteous. On moving day, they made everything go very easy. My parents were thrilled and I was too!!

Our family was planning a move from Fairfax to Houston, Texas. I checked with friends and family for recommendations of a good moving company. I called several but had decided to go with Able Moving and Storage, Inc.. When I called a few weeks before the move, the staff was very professional and courteous on the phone. They set me up with an appointment a few days later with Bobby, a member of their sales team. He came to my house (on time) and walked me through the whole process. I was not sure what to expect but he took the time to answer all my questions, told me how much it would cost and even gave me some tips to help prepare the house and our family for the move. Able did it all for us, packing, moving and unpacking. The guys they sent were great, they knew I was a little stressed out and made the process easy. All of our furniture and belongings arrived on time and in one piece! We were sad to leave northern virginia but love our new home and are starting to get to know Houston. A big thanks to Able Moving and Storage for a great experience!! Would highly recommend them.

The movers showed up on time. Admittedly, we were still packing stuff - like 80% of people. The Movers were nice, and even taped boxes up for us when needed. Three of the four movers spoke English natively, which is good since our Spanish is horrible. The made quick work of the boxes and furniture and loading the truck. Originally, the sales person promised us a 35 foot truck. However, the movers only showed up with a 28 foot truck. We didn't realize the mistake until they were half way packed with the truck. They only charged us for the 28 foot truck. However, that left a few more things that we had to move ourselves. They didn't break anything. They were relatively careful with the walls, but still not as careful as we would have liked. They were more careful with our new house. My husband and I also positioned ourselves to watch after any special architecture features (aka an antique room divider) in our home. They did lay down pads in both houses. I would recommending wrapping bubble wrap around any special architecutal features (stairway newell posts, etc) of your home that you care about. It saves a lot of worry. Overall, Able Movers did a reasonable job. They finished ahead of schedule and came in on budget.

The movers arrived on time and did the things that the salesperson had said they would do in terms of floor runners, padding furniture, putting hanging clothes in wardrobes, disassembling/reassembling beds, etc. The crew was professional and there were no major problems. A few minor bumps occurred and they worked less well as a team toward the end of the day as the crew got tired, but overall were great. We would use Able again in the future.

This did not go well. They broke pieces of furniture and then tired to hide the broken pieces. There were also several other fragile items broken. There is a law that they cannot charge 10% above the estimated price and they charged us 14% higher than the estimated price.

We requested packing service with our move and the individuals who arrived to pack our belongings were right on time. If there was any draw back or slightly negative aspect to the entire move it would be that they sent one pro and one novice to pack our belongings. The pro was excellent and worked twice as fast and twice as hard and the novice. The novice made the mistake of cutting a box on top of one of our glass tables and scratched it significantly, but throughout the entire move that was the only issue. In the end the packers did a great job of packing over two days and made things ready for the movers. The movers were experts at loading the truck in a way to maximize the space available. The weight of our move came in close to what Scott had estimated, but actually a little bit less. On delivery, the movers were great. They put together our disassembled items and placed everything exactly according to our request. As I mentioned before, not one item was broken or missing. As a former military member who is accustomed to contract movers and moving, this was the most outstanding moving experience that I've ever had. If possible, we will be contacting Able Moving and Storage again, when we make our next move. Highly Recommended.

They are friendly, but excessively priced. They are 50% higher than the company I chose to go with. In every way they were impressive, but their price was over the top. I wouldn’t consider them in the future.

Very well. I was told the movers would arrive between 8 and 9 a.m. They were here at 8, precisely. They immediately began moving items, at my direction. They disconnected the washer and dryer units and even cleaned the floor under the old appliances. Never was a wall touched by any piece of furniture, and they moved all pieces to exactly where I wanted them to be, even when I was being "an extra inch" particular. Finished in about an hour. Understandably, they have a 4 hour minimum. Since the work was done so quickly (they didn't stop to rest at all), that meant my hourly charge equivalent was very high. I knew this before hiring this company, and even though we found more general items to be moved, I couldn't fill up the time. So, sure, it was expensive, but some of these items would have been impossible for my husband to move, even with my help. Thus, ensuring that we didn't have pulled muscles/sprains/back injuries made hiring Able a wise decision for us.

I started by getting a quote online from a moving website (I don't remember which one). This was a mistake as you will be pestered for MONTHS with calls to home/cell phone/ and flyers in the mail. Just use Angie's List to pick your top two or three companies to get an estimate from, and go from there! I received a post card in the mail from Able and also checked them out on Angie's List, to find they already had several good reviews. There sales representative, Bob Mulligan, came to my home to make an assessment of our items and give me an estimate. He explained everything to my satisfaction, was straight forward and left me with a good impression of a professional company. The Estimate was $5200, $1200 more than it ended up costing in the end! that was good-but more on why later. Once we picked a moving week, we selected a day for the packers to come and get the house ready. I highly recommend this service. Two women came -one with little English skills, and one a fluent English speaker. It took them most of the day to pack our three bedroom house (think small townhome size). They provided all of the packing materials. Other than clean and organize for myself I really had to do NOTHING in preparation for them to come in and pack every item. The only B rating I gave was for Professionalism because one of the packers was on her cell phone doing personal calls while packing. Although this was a little irritating, I was not paying them based on how fast they packed, just that they did it well, which they did. The next morning they packed the big truck and gave me a several day window when they would arrive in Atlanta. They ended up arriving on the first morning of the window, great for me. Two people unpacked the truck and worked so hard. When it started raining (I mean a rough thunderstorm) they moved everything under the breezeway to prevent our belongings from getting wet. They got everything into our 2nd story apartment and even assembled furniture which was AWESOME. Only three items were damaged/broken in the move, one pottery type dish, a casserole dish, and a Skillet was somehow bent. Because I purchased the highest level of insurance I received a check for $200 to replace these items, with no questions asked, within a week.
