My mother in law is a wonderful lady and a very particular person. She was moving to be closer to us from the Pittsburgh area. I was quite conviced ed that if these guys made one mistake it would really be a problem. My account was handled by a guy named Steve. He was first class. Just what Mom needed. It went off with out a hitch and even she was happy.

Overall it went well. Not A+ but a solid A. One reason being that the account manager's quote didn't include a rental fee for the wardrobe boxes, but on moving day when the lead moving guy gave us the final bill, it included $5/box charge, and we had used 15 boxes. On the bright side, when I pointed out that our estimate didn't include that fee, he removed it. An A+ company would have been clear about that up front and not put the moving guy in a tight spot when he's done and trying to get out of there. Other than that, I was happy. There was no damage to any of our belongings; everything was well wrapped for transport. They took care to place items exactly where I wanted them. I never felt like they were wasting the time I was paying them for. All four men were polite, although only the lead guy spoke English. Also I appreciated the estimating process. The account manager INSISTED on coming out to our house. (How other companies expected to give an accurate estimate over the phone, I have no idea.) He had an iPad that clearly had an estimating app; as we went from room to room he asked us what they were going to move and entered them into his app. As a result, the estimate he gave us was incredibly accurate. Price-wise, a moving job is going to take as long as it's going to take; no matter what company you go with, they're going to be moving the same stuff. So unless you're getting flat-rate estimates (which I don't think happens in local moves), in the end it's all about 1) what's their hourly rate, 2) what quality of work are you going to get for that rate, and 3) is the company low-balling your estimate so that you'll choose them, only to surprise you with a higher final cost. On the evening that Able came in to do the estimate, we had a second company come in, and even though the second company charged less per hour we felt that Able would do a better job. As I've learned from my business coach, and quot;How you do one thing is how you do everything,and quot; so the way that the rep from Able took charge of the meeting (quite the opposite of the other guy), we knew that they would take charge on moving day too - and we were happy to pay a little more for that.

Everything was done as promised from the original quote to the final delivery and settlement for minor items broken or missing. We had not moved in 26+ years and were dreading the process. The professional work of all was great.

They did say they charge by the pound, so they would have to take the items to the factory to get the exact price. Their estimate was within a couple hundred dollars, it went very smooth. We even mentioned Angie's List and they told us to read their reviews. They were straight forward and punctual.

Able had packed the truck with our items in May and placed them in storage then moved them to our new home when we were ready for them. Able moved our things from Gainsville, VA to Massillon, OH. The driver who headed the move up, was in charge of packing the truck, unloading the truck at storage, packing it up again and getting it to our home was absolutely excellent! My only issue was the moving coordinator in the office. She was not helpful at all and difficult to get a hold of. She didn't seem willing to work with us, and I even had to go above her to get things done. Other than that, our experience was excellent! The grades that I have given Able reflect the movers, as they had done an excellent job. I had no scratched items or broken items.

They said they would be there at 8:00, they came in at 8:02 so that's on time. They secured the things very well, they were wrapped. They were very good. They packed up for one house from a 3-level home. They did very well because 8;00 up until 1:00, they had packed, delivered and completely set up 3 bedrooms and then they were out. Nothing was broken or damaged. The three guys did very well. They were very professional. Matter of fact, I had recommended them to another family. The price was very good. I only gave them a week's notice that I need to get serviced. They responded with me and helped me. If they thought something was damaged, they would mention it to me. If they couldn't move something, they will let me know. They did everything according to their contract. They remembered everything.

The men who came to do the job were Gus, Kenny, and Melvin. They were very prompt, efficient, courteous, and helpful. They were here on time and were finished by their schedule time to leave. We have used this company twice and will use them again, if necessary. It was a very hot and humid day today but, they worked continuously and made sure we were satisfied with everything before they left.

rShawn was on time and walked through our house taking an inventory of stuff to be moved. He was nice and professional. We never got an estimate. I sent an e-mail to him saying we never got an estimate and we chose another moving co. JK moving. We have not used JK yet.

When we moved into our new home, there was a small hole in the wall caused during the previous occupant's move, which Able performed. Although it was a requirement of closing that the previous owner resolve the problem by contacting Able, she did not do so. I followed up with Able and they accommodated my schedule, and sent someone out to repair the hole, despite the fact that they owed me no contractual obligation. From their customer service to their contractor who repaired the hole, Able was professional, courteous, and honest. I appreciate the service. Thank you.

I've moved 12 times in 30 years and this was by far the easiest of all. I give Able an A+ for their communications and professionalism. Price is a B for all movers have to use FCC rates an rules so there is little flexibility here.

The movers came about an hour earlier than we expected. They wrapped the furniture we were moving to Winchester and Front Royal, Virginia very efficiently and made sure everthing was completely covered. We had no boxes for them to pack so it all went very quickly. They put everything together at each place we were leaving the furniture at and offered to move the furniture around so that the person we gave the furniture to would not have to do any rearranging. They were very nice to work with and we would use them again.

The sales portion was very professional and accommodated our last minute requests and changes in a timely manner. The actual movers were very punctual and did a great job of wrapping our belongings. They were very fast yet careful. On the day of delivery to our new home it was raining and the movers took extra caution to protect the home and not track in mud or water. I would hire again.

We had some points of contention with Able Moving Company, most of which were fairly common when moving long-distance--price adjustments, damaged items, and haggling over the insurance coverage. But in the end, they proved to be contentious service providers and made sure we were satisfied customers. Which is the most important thing of all when moving your household goods cross-country.

It went terrific and very smoothly. I am very happy with their service. The people doing the work and the supervisors were excellent to work with.

I called Able about one month prior to our move for a quote and an inspection. It was my second time using the company so I was already satisfied with their work. The inspector came out on the appointed day right on time. He was very professional and only required a half an hour to give us a quote and schedule pickup and delivery. Since our house was small and the distance to our new place wasn't very far he was able to schedule the packout and delivery on the same day. When moving day arrived everything went as planned. The packout was done in about five hours with no breakage. The team did leave behind a few items by accident, but nothing we couldn't fit into the car and take ourselves. The delivery and unpacking was uneventful too. The team put everything where we wanted it throughout our three-story house with nothing damaged. The actual price of the move was about 200 less than the estimate, so we were happy about that too. Able worked with us to remove the boxes and came to pick them up about a week after the moving day. Overall, a very good move and we will certainly call Able again for the next one.

The sales portion went well and they gave me 5% discount. Their estimate was right, even a little under. They showed up Monday, though, when they should have come on Thursday. They had to wait around and they were not happy about that. They were not unpleasant but they were unrelenting. They were unable to get up the mountain to me, so they had to take things down, switching between a big and small truck. During the move, art work and a stool was broken. What disappointed me more than anything else was that they did not have any sensitivity to this. I then ordered forms for the claim and they did not come until I called three times.

Sergio the team lead handled his crew very well. They were amazing guys and did a fabulous job. I cannot say enough about this company. They finished the move in one day. They were very cautious to make sure that nothing was broken or damaged. When everything wouldn't fit they drove my things over the storage unit no for extra charge. They came in under budget and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend them to anyone that is going to move. I have referred them to several people already.

The whole moving experience is very stressful; especially due to an unexpected accident like we had. However, Able Moving was able to make it as stressless as possible for us. We could not have had better customer service and care than we did with Able Moving. From the very beginning with the salesman that came out and gave me an estimate; he was very accurate on his pricing and very informative. The moving coordinator that I spoke to in regards to all of my questions and concerns was extremely helpful and pleasant. As soon as the movers arrived they immediately assessed the situation and got to work with packing; even through the mess and water damage. They worked so swiftly and diligently they got the whole house packed and loaded onto their truck in pallets in just a few hours. They were extremely polite and professional. When it came time to set up our delivery of our furniture a little over a month later, that was also just as seamless as ever. The movers padded our floors and railings so that not to cause any damage. They placed everything exactly where I asked them to and did not damage any of our newly renovated home. They were in and out in a matter of hours. What a wonderful experience! I could not rave about them enough. I would definitely recommend Able Moving and Storage to anyone moving!

The loading of furntiure and boxes went very well. The crew was on time and very careful in carrying and loading everything. The did no damage to the house. On the delivery, they were also careful with the furniture and boxes and did no damage to the house. They wrapped the the corners and handrails on the stairs and covered the hardwood floors to protect them. The only problem I have with the company is that when the moving truck was backing into my driveway at the new house, the driver ran over the curb and cracked a corner piece of the aggregate driveway. I showed the driver the damage and took pictures which I emailed to the company. I have contacted the company by email twice since I sent the pictures and they have not taken any action yet. Update: I posted this review last night and this morning I received 2 calls from Able Moving. They are going to start the process to fix my driveway. It is a shame that it took a poor review on Angie's List to get a response. I will update this again once the driveway has been repaired. Dec 2, 2012. I just sent Able Moving another email asking when my driveway would be fixed. It has been almost 3 months since the move took place and I am still waiting for my driveway to be fixed. It is really, really annoying that it is taking this long. Remember, the moving part was great, the 'D' grade is because of the poor response and the amount of time it is taking to correct the problem. Jan 3, 2013. Final Update - the paving company arrived today to fix my driveway.

IT WAS HORRIBLE. I HAVE MOVED 33 TIMES. THIS WAS WAY UP THERE WITH THE WORST. Just file a claim!!!

I cannot fully express in words how happy we were with Able Moving and Storage. Our plans for a “self move” changed 2 days before the move that was to take place at the end of June and on a Saturday to boot. Despite the short notice, Shannon was able to make arrangements for a crew of 3 to arrive for packing (whatever we were not able to finish) and moving. She had some email issues that delayed receiving the written estimate, but that did not matter since it matched exactly what she stated over the phone after an extensive conversation in which she was sure to obtain all the relevant information needed to give me a verbal quote. She also made sure to explain the different insurance coverage options, which was greatly appreciated. The night before the move, Northern Virginia experienced severe thunderstorms and we lost power along with reliable cell phone coverage. Nonetheless, Sergio (the crew chief) and his 2 crew members arrived right on time. Sergio was very thorough to make sure we were on the same page with regard to what was being packed and moved and he made sure that the request of our packing supplies being used first was adhered to, as well. The crew was pleasant and professional and I am amazed at the speed they worked despite the heat. The job was done in record time, but the quality did not suffer, which made the final price less than the estimate.

No complaints. They were careful, polite and considerate of our property.

An excellent company to work with. The estimator was prompt, professional and accurate. The moving crew was prompt, careful and completely professional. Charges were exactly as quoted. They weren't the lowest quote, but they delivered as promised, and I'll use them again.

They are prompt, and their pricing is good. They are hard workers, and they are conscientious with your belongings. We selected them partially because the sales person, partially because of their reputation, and partially because of the pricing. We were very happy, and would use them again.
