Excellent. With any visit from a Trademasters representative, all went smoothly from setting the appointment to a prompt, on time arrival, all with courteous and friendly people. This is a great, family run business that cares about its customers, and employs representatives who are experienced and know (and care about) what they are doing.
Description of Work: This visit was for a seasonal check up of the air conditioning system. I have a heating/ac agreement with Trademasters for two check ups per year.

I needed a new hot water heater and a friend of mine recommend Trademasters. The plumber/technician that came out was on time and very professional. He ran into a problem with my shut off valve not closing all the way. I live in a condo and I thinking this is a huge problem! But the technician put me at ease right away saying, not to worry he had a solution. He used some type of tool to stop the water and was able to install a new shut off vale. Problem solved! Very pleased!!

Trademasters Service Corporation provides great service on my heat pump system. They are always on time, answer all of my questions in detail, and are always very courteous. I feel the heat pump has lasted as long as it has is due to the fact the technicians take there time when it comes to the service. They installed a safety trap on the condensate line to prevent water issues in the future also.

It was terrible. I had more problems, I had water leaking through my ceiling. I had to get someone else to fix the problem. I initially called him for a faucet in the kitchen. He came out and did the kitchen faucet and I said, "Well, I have another problem in my bathroom tub area where the tub faucet, not the shower head is problematic." I had done something myself and couldn't get it to turn straight up and down. He ended up needing to replace the copper on the back end and having water flow down in the kitchen and then he told me, "Well, it just happens, sometimes when the plumber comes out is when things break." The fact that water was never leaking down from my bathroom on the top-level to the middle level kitchen didn't just occur circumstantially when he arrived and after he went up there. Initially, he tried to deny that it was his action that caused it. He eventually came back two or three times and got the water to stop dripping. But then it was an issue of water dripping through my ceiling. After it dripped through the ceiling, it stained and then he thought I should take care of the water stains in the ceiling and go on to the light fixture in the kitchen. It was just terrible. I wouldn't recommend anyone use them. I got someone else to come and fix it. I just moved on with someone because it wasn't worth my time and effort and then not being able to use my tub. That's the terrible part about it. You need to have things working properly or want things to work instead of having to go to another bathroom or having to look at your ceiling with water stains in it from shoddy work. I got somebody else to repair the ceiling and then got somebody to repair the tub. I wouldn't have him back in my house to do anything. So they couldn't come back and do anything. That part is done. There is nothing more they could do. If anybody ever asked about them I would tell them how poor their service for me was and how their responses were to deny and try to get me to go along with it. Chuck Trembles was the guy who came out. It cost me about $150 for the first thing and then maybe about $95. So it was probably around $250 plus for everything.

Have used Trademasters in the past for furnace installation and A/C repair and been generally satisfied with their service, although I've found them pricey. Had an 8 year old Carrier furnace that was not heating -- Trademasters identified the problem as a faulty inducer motor and the technician said it was likely a $500-$700 repair. Called two days later with the actual estimate -- almost $1600 to replace the inducer assembly. I found the part online, new, for $730, so Trademasters was trying to charge me over $800 for markup on the part and an installation that required 30 minutes. Found another contractor who did the work for $950. This is the second time Trademasters has given me a price for service that was significantly higher than what the technician said it was likely to cost.
Description of Work: Diagnosed faulty furnace. Wanted an exorbitant amount of money to fix.

Response from Trademasters Service, Inc.
We are sorry that you believe that our services are overpriced and that our quality only deserves a B. We strive to provide the highest possible quality services to our customers. To achieve this, we invest highly in the on-going education and training of our technicians. We have a vendor agreement with the manufacturer, Carrier. We only buy new, OEM parts directly from them. We do not buy parts off the internet from unknown sources because we cannot vouch for their quality and reliability. We also offer a one-year, in-home warranty on the parts we install, so we have to be sure they are good quality, reliable, new replacement parts. . These factors affect our pricing, but also allow us to provide top-quality service to our customers.

We have had a service contract with Trademasters for many years (Probably 18) and it is an excellent company to work with. We think the service staff is excellent at their job. We have purchased units from Trademasters and had one with problems. Trademasters worked with us to address the problems (the manufacturer did not) and we were very glad for the Trademaster support. Their owner, Dave, is a good and fair business person to work with and our current unit has been trouble-free for many years. We recommended Trademasters to our son and daughter who have also been pleased with their service. You won't go wrong with Trademasters.

Timely, friendly, professional, effective each time! Trademasters have helped with doing emergency repairs for our heat pump during a winter cold blast - they arrived within 20 minutes, after hours and provided effective repairs (temporary fix while waiting for actual repair parts to get in) that prevented us from having to move into a hotel. Having to pay the extra after hours fee was well worth it! They also provided effective repair of our wall-hung, in wall tank Geberit toilet. Few plumbers know how to handle this type of European style toilet but it was no problem for Trademasters!
Description of Work: We have used Trademasters several times over the last years for emergency service on a broken heat pump in the middle of winter, AC tune-up, waterheater tune-up, toilet repair. Superb service every time!

Our air-conditioning motor went out. We received several quotes. Trademasters, by far, had the best quote. The technician was friendly. My only complaint was that the technician left a piece of the bad equipment on my deck after the installation. Also, they couldn't perform the fix in the same-day (but, they did have to special order the motor).

My kitchen sink drain was completely stopped up. The sink wouldn't drain, the garbage disposal leaked, and the dish-washer backed up when used. A recommended plumber came and attempted to snake the drain. No matter how hard or how long he tried, he was unable to clear the blockage and kept getting stopped 13 feet into the drain. He told me the pipe had likely collapsed under the basement floor and would require excavation to be repaired. He also declared the job was too big for his company and he recommended I call a larger firm. Based on a previous excellent experience with Trademasters for HVAC installation, I decided to call them for a second opinion. I was able to schedule a plumber, Phil, to come look at the problem the following afternoon at 1pm. Phil was about 30 minutes late, due to a longer than expected service for his previous appointment. When he arrived we discussed the problem and he asked to snake the drain from the roof air vent in order to get a better sense of exactly where the blockage was. After confirming a significant blockage that the snake could not penetrate, we discussed how to best tackle the problem. Based on time limitations, we agreed to set up an appointment for the following day. Phil suggested that we open up a wall beneath the kitchen to gain access to the kitchen drain at the elbow joint as it went underneath the foundation. He thought that instead of a collapsed pipe, the problem could be significant rust build up at the elbow. If the pipe was infact collapsed, we agreed the alternative would be to cap the collapsed portion and reroute the kitchen drain pipe. The estimate he gave was for the worse case scenario, and was written as "no more than $1400." He said if necessary Trademasters could hire a subcontractor to repair the drywall at additional expense, or that I could opt to do that myself (which I chose to do). When Phil arrived (on time) the next day, he opened up the wall and removed a section of pipe directly above the elbow. Fortunately, his estimation of the problem was correct. The problem was rust buildup at and below the elbow, and the pipe was not collapsed. He was able to clear the drain (after some serious effort) and about 3 hours later the problem was completely resolved. It was a bit of a messy situation, but Phil left the areas he worked in very clean, which I appreciated. Phil also took a few minutes to answer some other plumbing questions I had within the house, and worked up a quick estimate to replace a shower diverter that is on our "to-do" list. He was professional, knowledgeable, and good-natured. The final invoice came in at about half of the original estimate, which I was especially pleased about. Bottom line: Good experience and I would certainly call again if (God forbid!) I need to.
Description of Work: Trademasters successfully resolved a blocked kitchen drain pipe that the first plumber I called failed to accomplish.

My realtor put me in touch with Trademasters directly after my home inspection revealed that the existing AC/Heating systems (yes, there were 2 separate A/Cs & furnaces) were well beyond their life span. I spoke with Shane Allen, project manager and estimator, on the phone and he agreed to meet me at the house and give an estimate on both the cost and approach for replacing two complete HVAC systems for a 3000+ sq ft house. When we met Shane for the initial evaluation he was extremely thorough and spent a considerable amount of time explaining what he found (in addition to some much needed HVAC fundamentals). I found myself at ease with Shane quickly because it was clear he is an HVAC expert, and that he had no intention of up-selling or applying any pressure whatsoever. Shortly after our visit we had a follow up conversation to discuss different possibilities (cost vs efficiency vs size) and we settled on 2 mid-tier Trane systems. After our conversation, he produced a quote (which turned out to be extremely accurate) and I selected Trademasters to do the work. He estimated the job would take somewhere between 1.5 and 2 days. The day after I purchased the house I scheduled the installation of the system and two well mannered technicians, Jose and Chris, showed up on-time. It was clear that Shane had prepared them appropriately in advance of the appointment, and they were quite familiar with the task at hand even before setting foot in the house. I showed Jose and Chris around and, again, felt at ease quickly by their professional communication and clear understanding of what needed to be done. They placed drop cloths in the areas where the work was to be done, and quickly began removing the old units. Within the first hour I felt comfortable enough with them to leave the house for a few hours to continue the process of moving in. By mid afternoon Jose and Chris had both new systems in place within the house, and were artfully modifying the existing (very large) duct work/supply boxes to interface to the new systems. I was very impressed by the care and attention to detail that Jose showed when doing this work, and that he was willing to field questions I had about the system as he was doing it. Project manager Shane also reached out to ensure everything was going wel At the end of the first day it was clear that the bulk of the work was complete, and they left the areas where they had been working very neat and clean. Day 2 was equally smooth. Jose and Chris were on time and completed the work by early afternoon. I was especially pleased with their thorough testing of each system, as well as air flow at all air vents through out the house. The two utility/machine rooms were cleaner when Jose and Chris left than they were before they arrived. No small details were left unaddressed. Jose even stayed a few extra minutes at the end to answer some totally off topic questions. He delivered a final invoice which was identical to the original quote, no surprises, no problems. My impression is that Jose and Chris worked on my home with the same care as if they were working on their own houses. Shane followed up multiple times during and after the installation to ensure everything went smoothly, which I also appreciated. Based on my research before selecting Trademasters I learned I could probably get these systems installed for slightly less money, but the professionalism, quality of workmanship, and peace of mind was well worth a small additional cost.. I feel confident that if a problem did arise Trademasters would take care of it. I've subsequently used them for a completely unrelated plumbing issue, and that experience went equally well. I strongly recommend them for HVAC and plumbing work.
Description of Work: Trademasters Service Corp replaced 2 central A/C units and 2 furnaces in our recently purchased home. 100% professional and excellent service. Here is the basic rundown of the services performed: - Demo and dispose of 2 old HVAC systems- Install 2 new AC units- extend refrigerant lines inside and outside the house- outside line voltage changed- install 2 new furnace coils- install new thermostats- repair damaged ducts- modify supply duct size to work with newer system- install outside pad for AC units to sit on- installed "e-z" traps, water detection systems, and pipes to drain- seal all ducts- changed shut off switches and evaculated line sets

We decided on Trademasters after getting two proposals -- only two because 18 months earlier we thought we would change out our two A/C and Heating units to take advantage of the tax rebate. At that time, we had five proposals, so we requested new proposals from the two lowest contractors at that time. Our heating and A/C units were performing, but they were original contractor grade items that were now 12 years old. Many neighbors have replaced theirs, so we wanted to do it before we had to during the cooling season. Both proposals were comparable in cost, but Trademasters offered a bonus, plus my confidence in the project manager made the difference. The project manager, Shane Allen, we very responsive and I was impressed with his intent to provide good service. A special issue for us was the current installation for the A/C compressors. They were placed on a small slope with a few random bricks at the front to sort-of level them. See picture below: Trademasters expanded the area for the compressors and leveled the new pad. They even helped me put down some landscape cloth and chemicals to keep weed seeds from growing under the marble chips. Jose and Nelson were the installers. They worked efficiently together, and had one new heater and A/C unit finished each of the two days. In addition to the outside compressor pad, a second issue was the small entry through my closet for the upstairs unit. Jose and Nelson only had to remove one piece of trim to be able to remove and install the furnace and coil unit in the attic. It was a tight fit, but they accomplished the exchange very carefully with no damage. I only had to paint the one trim piece after they were finished. You will be pleased if these two are assigned to your project. Shane Allen, the project manager made several visits during the installation, both to help the technicians and to check on how things were going, See picture below of the finished compressor pad:
Description of Work: We had two heating and A/C units replaced. The new units are a 100,000 BTU furnace and a 4-ton A/C unit and a 60,000 BTU furnace and a 2.5-ton A/C unit.

We worked with Shane on our estimate. We have had work done by Trademasters before during the big snow storm in '09. Based on that previous work we gave them a call. They were able to stay competitive with other offers we received and based off their other work we were willing to pay a few hundred dollars more for the service we knew we would receive. The work was performed quickly, cleanup was great, and haven't had any issues.

We had to replace our outdoor air conditioning unit and requested bids from four different contractors, three of whom were recommended by friends/neighbors. As part of our initial research, we checked BBB ratings and professional certifications with the national trade association, and Trademasters had an excellent reputation. They offered a competitive price and were very responsive to all our questions. They took care of everything according to the established timeline, provided excellent customer service and followed up with both phone calls and a letter to ensure that we were satisfied with their work. I highly recommend Trademasters!
Description of Work: We had to replace the existing outdoor a/c unit, which included removal of the old unit and pouring a new concrete slab. Our unit is contained in a small fenced-in area in our backyard where we also store large trash bins and garden materials. They crew took great care not to damage the surrounding area and they left everything neat and clean when they were finished.

Always double check and triple check the contractor. Don't believe they will show up just because they say they will. Even companies on Angies list can be completely unreliable and they will lie about trying to contact you.
Description of Work: I had an entire new furnace installed years ago and last summer (2011) had a new air conditioning unit installed. I had an early appointment this morning for my "check-up" and was scheduled for an approximate 8-8:30 am service call. At 9:30 am I called to see when the technician was coming. I was told they TRIED to call me yesterday to reschedule but couldn't get through because of a busy signal. I was out all day and no one was at home. This was obviously a lie. Then they offered to reschedule next week. I told them I was not off work next week. They are coming later today, between 1 and 6 pm - they say - but I was lied to. And they could have called, sent me an email, left a message, and they did not. I know my telephone was functioning because I used it last night. I hate being lied to. I hate not being able to trust a service company. This is my last contract with Trademasters.

We called several companies for estimates and decided on Trademasters. They were not the least expensive but we had good experiences prior with them. They scheduled the work, came on time, did a great job. We were very pleased.
Description of Work: We had a new HVAC system installed including thermostats. They did an excellent job and cleaned up after themselves very well. Only thing we would have liked to have known about was the odor reducing system that apparently is available. We have a great filter system but not the odor neutralizing. The project began shortly after their annual maintenance inspection of the units in my home. During this inspection/service the tech noted that the old furnace heat exchanger was leaking due to several corrosion holes in the heat exchanger. By code, due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, he had to shut down the gas supply line. We needed a new system. In addition, this inspection also addressed an unusual odor complaint from the heat pump in the attic. The Project Manager, Shane Allen, returned shortly after this inspection to perform his own inspection and prepare the job estimate. Additionally, and of note, he returned a couple days later with the President of the company so he could make an assessment on what was required for the heat pump odor complaint upstairs. Mr Allen also performed a "load test" on our house several days before installation date to confirm the required unit size/capacity for the proposed new furnace and air conditioner. On the installation day the tech team (3 men), to include Mr. Allen arrived as promised at 7:30AM and the installation was completed before 4:30PM. They wore boot covers on their shoes whenever they were in the house and put down protective floor coverings between the door and furnace location inside. The entire team was professional, well-spoken and willing to let me hang around and ask questions. They went out of their way to ensure that I understood what was happening and why. In addition to what was specified on the contract (and at no extra cost) they serviced the April Air humidifier when they reinstalled it on the new unit, replaced the furnace exhaust stack and repaired a hole in one of the basement duct lines. Per our contract, this job was $7,368 of the total $8,200 job noted above. The second task they performed was to clean the heat pump in the attic (our home has a two zone system - gas furnace/air conditioning downstairs and a heat pump upstairs) and install two cold air return air filter units to replace the in-line air filter at the heat pump in the attic (making it much easier to change air filters periodically). This task, performed by a different tech, took about a half day. This portion of the job cost $850 - parts and labor. In addition, the tech adjusted one of the crimped air ducts in the attic and left me a year's supply of air filters for the two new filter units. We believe that they have fixed the odor issue with the thorough cleaning of the system with specialized materials. I want to note that I selected Trademasters to replace the second floor heat pump six years ago when the original heat pump died (1988 original date). They did a superb job back then so it was a no-brainer to have them do this job. As expected, I was very pleased with the job. or
Description of Work: Trademasters performed two separate services over a three day period beginning on February 27,2012. First, they installed a new Trane XL 15i 3.5 ton Condensing Unit and Trane XR 80 gas furnace to replace our old gas furnace and air conditioner (1988 original equipment date on the furnace and 1996 original date on the air conditioner). The job included a new Honeywell Programmable Thermostat, corriosion resistant air conditioner pad, outdoor fuzed disconnect, furnace pan, safety trap and electric water sensor.

We don’t use anybody else; we use them all the time. It took them a couple of times to get it right. They ended up doing a whole lot of work and they did not charge us for all of it.
Description of Work: We use Trademasters Service Corp for heating and air-conditioning. The last time we used them was in the summer and they redid some duct work, did some work on one of our units that was not functioning and redid some duct work that wasn’t adequate for the unit.
