Description of Work: Even though the technician was very good, the prices were WAY TOO HIGH!! He began doing the job before giving me the estimate. When I said that it was too high, he took off $100 and that was with the $49 I paid for the $100 worth of work. Therefore, hooking up the already existing icemaker cost almost as much as the refrigerator!

Description of Work: Checked for leak in ceiling, cleared drain in two tubs. Will definitely use them when I purchase a new toilet. The gentleman was courteous and friendly and very helpful.

Description of Work: They installed three Moen bathroom facets, repaired a bathroom shower and inspected the homes HVAC system made repairs and tuned up the unit.

Description of Work: Tim arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed all problems under the kitchen sink. He explained the recommended actions and gave us an accurate estimate of all work. He replaced a disposal and sink hose and repaired the faucet. The work was done efficiently and neatly for a fair price. Would definitely use again.

Description of Work: The service provider was very pleasant, thorough, and competent. He called before he came, and arrived promptly. The only problem was that we paid for this summer furnace/AC check in April or May and heard nothing from the company. I had to call them to schedule the work.

Description of Work: This was an Angie's Deal and it involved replacing an outside faucet with a new one. The plumber arrived on time and replaced the faucet and it works great. It was very experienced and new exactly what he was done. I had another plumber problem about two weeks ago and I called the same company and the same plumber arrived. He had to replace an old fashioned valve the the bathroom but he did it quickly and the tub has never worked better. I would recommend this company to anyone and I believe the plumber was named Tim. He was great.

Description of Work: Excellent, experienced plumber...fixed leaking external hose faucet that previous plumbing service had advised would require cutting into house to repair. Will definitely use again!

Description of Work: Tim called in advance, as requested, to advise of his estimated time of arrival. He arrived punctually, and replaced parts of my outdoor faucet to prevent it from leaking. I waived the plumbing inspection. He also gladely answered my questions and showed me how to use the "climate switch" on my water main valve. He was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Description of Work: They came to fix a leaking outside hose faucet. The serviceman did a fantastic job, and was very courteous and helpful. He should be commended. However, I was not satisfied with the service personnel with whom I spoke on the phone. I was promised a morning service call, and when I called that morning to confirm the time that the serviceman would be coming, I was told that I did not have an appointment and that I would have to reschedule for another day. I insisted that I did have an appointment, but the young lady on the phone told me that although she was able to see my account, she did not see that I had an appointment. I asked her to be sure that no one would be coming to my house that morning, and she told me that every serviceman was booked, and that there was no way that anyone would be coming to my house that day. I went upstairs to dress for work, and while I was dressing, I received a call from Tim, telling me that he had been waiting outside for me to answer the door for 15 minutes (I had not heard the door, as I was upstairs preparing to leave for work). I wonder -- how could a serviceman be outside at my door, at the promised day and time, and the young lady on the phone insist that I did not have an appointment. As I said, the serviceman did a fantastic job, but I was disappointed with the service that I received over the phone.

Description of Work: McCarthy installed both my hot water heater and a new HVAC unit. I chose them because they could do both services under 1 contract. They were very quick to install the water heater (since my current one was leaking) but I did have to call and find out an ETA for the plumber (I was told by the estimator that he should be there about 1:30 but the plumber did not come until 3:30). The plumber that was assigned the job worked hard and was very professional but the estimator did not prepare him to do such a complicated replacement (and he had to call in for help). However, I really appreciated the plumber working until 9:30pm to get the job done with customized fixes for the best installation. I was equally as happy with the HVAC installation. I did have to call the day prior to confirm if/when they were coming the next day. The technicians came on time and did a great job. No complaints with either service. I did have an issue with the accounting department...they had charged my credit card a 2nd time after the initial deposit, but it was resolved with a phone call.

Description of Work: I purchased the deal because there was a small leak in a pipe going into my water heater. In fact my original appointment was one week later, but they kindly moved it up when the leak became larger. My water heater was old, rusting, and I wasn't getting the pressure and real hot water. It was strictly my choice to replace it along with the pipe repair - there was no hard sell. Many plumbing companies have repaired leaking pipes in my house and I was most comfortable with McCarthy Services. I will definitely contact them for future needs.

Description of Work: I purchased a "deal" for $99 because my outside faucet was leaking. The guy arrived on time, knocked on the door and after exchanging pleasantries and without even a glance at my faucet, he told me the work would have to be done from the inside out. This would mean cutting holes in my walls. I was not ready for that and I told him to leave. That evening, I was discussing this with my neighbor -- who is a minister, not a plumber -- walked over and tighted a screw on the faucet. Fixed! No holes in my walls! That tells me that I will trust this company to do what is right! Also, I've called Angie's List and emailed Angie's List regarding this service and no one has responded.

Description of Work: Got a deal from angies list to get some routine service done... They didn't clean anything or look at things for prevention . They just looked for ways to sell more stuff. Also, they lost one of the AC cover screws into my AC and when I complained they said that they would just put another on from the truck. They didn't do it until I insisted.
