Description of Work: Repairman was very late. Fixed one item. Said he would get back to me regarding 3 other items with choices of parts and prices via email and he never did.

Description of Work: The plumber arrived on time, saw the issue, got the o ring needed for the repair quickly. He then replaced the seal and cleaned up the area. Very quick.

Description of Work: The plumber basically unclogged the drain by unscrewing the stopper and pulling out some gunk that was causing the drain to back up. He told me he could snake it if I wanted him to but then he decided it wasn't needed. He asked me if there was anything else in the plumbing arena that I needed fixed and he checked my laundry room sink and determined that that was draining fine. When he gave me the bill, I was astounded that it was for $300 ($295) for about 30 minutes of work, if that. Fortunately I had purchased $200 worth of time for $49 so I ended up paying $85 of that with a $10 senior discount. So with the Super Deal I had purchased, I paid $134. I thought it was a royal rip off and a very poor business model to get return business. I could have gone to another plumber and paid $134 and not felt deceived. The plumber himself was fine but didn't go out of his way to get return business (like snaking the drain because it might help me out in the future). Will not use them again.

Description of Work: He replaced the trap for the kitchen sink faucet; pulled the toilet and snaked sewer pipe to where it joined outside pipe, which he said he could not snake because it was Orangeburg. He reset the toilet. The total price was $793, which I thought was outrageously expensive. The price to replace Orangeburg pipe was estimated to be $11,000. When I ultimately do that, it will not be with them.

We appreciated his honest and thorough inspection of our furnace. He expertly responded to our questions and provided sound advice on potential options as we look to replace our 25+ year system in the near future. I highly recommend McCarthy Services and look forward to working with them soon.

Description of Work: I signed up for a Big Deal for a furnace check-up. For the price (I had a $5 off coupon on top of the Big Deal itself), I figured the technician would be here for 5-10. Instead, he was here for an hour, explained what he did, turned on the humidifier, which I had forgotten I had, and did a thorough checkup of the unit. Very professional. I would definitely use them for future HVAC needs.
