Description of Work: My furnace failed just as the snow storm was coming. McCarthy's assessed the unit offered me some options and had a new furnace delivered and installed right before the storm started. The service men for every informative and helped put my nerves as ease.

Description of Work: When a pipe burst leading to my water heater, McCarthy was prompt in responding and restoring my hot water. I had to replace the water heater and was very satisfied with their service.

Description of Work: I made a payment of 49 dollars, which was supposed to cover the visit and up to $100 in repairs. They installed the toilet flapper, which we had told them in advance was the required part, in about 10 minutes. They then claimed that the repair would cost about $195, so after the 49 dollars, already paid, we had to shell out an additional $95. I researched and found that a flapper replacement usually costs about $66, which would have required no additional payment by us. I should have contested this transaction but didn't know this was an option and now it is too late. Unless McCarthy's are willing to make a reasonable settlement, I judge their service as poor, their charges as exorbitant and their solicitation deceitful. |

Description of Work: Several different techs looked at same issue and each have a different answer - all from the same company! One made a repair that did not solve the problem while another asked why did the former make the repair and not just sell a new unit. Then a sales rep came and tried the "hard sales pitch" just like a used car salesman!

Description of Work: applied grease to shower cold water turnoff. Charged $195.00 more for the ten minutes of work did not install a new washer and water still leaks. Said that was a set price.Do all plumbers charge $1100. an hour?
