For this area the price was reasonable. It was typical of everyone in this area for a maintenance visit. The responsiveness was good. They came within a couple of days of me calling to get the appointment done. He was on time. I've had experience with their A/C and their plumbing over the last 10 years and have been happy with it. The most recent visit from the air conditioning technician due to his condescending attitude. It is not that he didn't know what he was doing. I think he did know what he was doing, but the way he shared that info with me because I was a woman. He is an asinine person.

I feel like we got a couple quote. Their quote was competitiveness. The person who came out was very knowledgeable. Not real pushy. They were very professional. They were very responsive. Overall, when they came out to do the work. They did the work in the day. Work was done well. They offer an service agreement for free to come out in the service agreement, to make sure the system was installed well and correctly. It was good.

We called them out thinking we had a hot water heater that was failing and their tech didn't realize that it was actually sewage that we were dealing with that was flooding the basement. We then called and cancelled the HVAC person they had scheduled to look at that water heater and said no this was a sewage backup and that we needed plumbing. Then we were told a day later that it would be a two day job to fix the break in the waste water out. The day they showed up with back hoe, but they realized they can't get a permit until Monday. So the back hoe sits in the front yard until over the weekend. They begin work then they severed the fresh water in and all cable, phone, and internet access lines were cut as well. They do not use trench shielding or scaffolding. Then they leave and no one comes back or calls for two days with an open trench.
Description of Work: We hired them to fix a main waste waster out rake which caused a sewage backup into our basement.

Thank you for the email. I looked at all the fact of the job that was performed at your house and came to the conclusion, that no money will be refunded to your account. Based on the fact that Montgomery County found no issues with the work that was performed, your own credit card company favored McCarthy in the charge back you attempted, there has not been any plumbing issues we are aware of since November 2016 and we offered to put a back water device in the line to prevent any indoor flooding which you rejected via text December 12,2016 . As for the yard getting repaired we would be more than happy to repair the section of the yard that settled, but not at the price of $3200.00. Especially since commercial grade means leveling the soil that has settled, which would contain possibly bringing in more soil, tamping, and reseeding. You also mentioned in your email that you had been waiting [Member Information Removed] months for a breakdown of the work performed, to submit to USAA. After looking at the tread of email dating back to December 1, 2016 I cannot find any information asking for a breakdown to submit to USAA. You said there was a verbal agreement with Don Gordon to reduce the price since you were a HSP customer, we do not offer 20% discounts on excavations, but we do offer [Member Information Removed]% which you were awarded when we only charged you $8,000.00 for the work that was performed instead of the original price of $8,650.00. That discount is actually almost 10% of the total job, invoiced attached. I do apologize that the job did not go as smooth as we all wanted, but the measurement of a company is how fast they respond when mistake are made and we responded to your needs immediately and had a 25 year Master Plumber/ Inspector come out to verify the work was done correctly. Overall, great. The 2 man team were fantastic and very professional. 1st unit for my condo came damaged, thus needed to be rescheduled. Company should check in the receiving dept before bringing to job. Ditto for my house unit. As a consolation, company will be giving me some extra time for future maintenance visits. Hope all will go well when I turn on A/C this summer for both places. Heating season no problems.

It's annually $200, it's part of an agreement. It's average. The quality of their service technicians is like a mixed bag. Sometimes they send some low-key technicians who wouldn't have the knowledge about the system, but they do have good ones over there. So it's kind of a mixed bag. So if you don't feel like the technician is up to the standard what I do is, I actually call them back and say, "I need you to send someone else because the technician you have here is not really helpful."

McCarthy was one of several contractors I got bids from for replacing my 20 year old system. I knew what features I was looking for and wanted to qualify for rebates and needed the equipment to meet those qualifications. Chris came out and was very professional, listened to me, and sat down and left me with a quote. Most companies left saying they would email me an estimate and never did, even after following up with them requesting a quote. The three choices he left me with all met the requirements I wanted and he made sure to answer my questions. He followed up with me two days later to see if I had any other questions about my quote, he worked with me to make sure I got what I wanted and was patient while I got my other quotes to make my decision. Overall, I never felt pressured to buy and felt that the customer service provided was excellent. Once we decided to go with McCarthy the installation was a breeze and even got done earlier than expected. The crew was professional and kept me informed of what they were doing to make sure that everything was the way I wanted. If they had something to tell me they called me if I was out of the house, I had to take my car into the shop, so was not home for part of the day. I had them install an extra supply and return and the installers made sure it was where I wanted and not going to interfere with the way I used the space. Having the unit installed now for a few days I have to say the house is a lot more comfortable and I am enjoying not having to worry that my unit won't make it through the coldest part of the winter. I would recommend them to anyone else who needs an HVAC replacement.

Horrible work installation and customer service. Installation of a humidifier was done on 1/9/2017 by a manager (Greg Bogan) I called the company again on 1/13/2017 because the air in the house was still dry and I was experiencing nose bleed. The same technician came on 1/16/2017 and per his assessment there was a faulty wire that was not connected to start the humidifier. While completing this work he brought to my attention that my water heater was leaking, and that I had significant water on the floor. I found that very weird and even suspicious because prior to the service I checked the HVAC room and everything seemed fine. He suggested that I call the office and asked for the plumbing department. They gave me a time window of 8-12pm on 1/17/2017. The plumbing technician (Kanye) came and replaced the TP valve that was leaking. Before paying for the repair I went in the HVAC room to see what was done, and I realized that water was coming out of the humidifier. I asked the tech (Kanye) to check the tube coming out of the humidifier. He told me that I should call the company again because he only does plumbing. I called the office again, spoke to Erin and specified that this is the third time I am calling for the same issue. I didn’t want the same technician again. She gave me a 2-6pm window for that same day, and no one called or showed up. I called the receptionist at 7:30pm to ask if I was still on their schedule for the night since no one contacted me. She took my info and stated that the tech would call in the next half hour. NO ONE CALLED. The next day on 1/18/2017 I called again and spoke to Erin who was very apologetic about the ordeal of the night before. We rescheduled for Friday, 1/20/2017, 8-12pm window and she reassured me that I will be the first customer on that day, and it would be with a supervisor. On 1/20/2017 I called them at 11:45am because no one called or showed up. Erin put me on hold to find out what was going on with the dispatch. She came back on the phone to say that they were backed up due to demand and traffic and that a tech was to call me before 2pm. At 12:45pm I received a call from a technician named Rafael. I asked him if he was a supervisor, and he said that he was a troubleshooter technician. I called the office again and asked to talk to Jennifer since she was the dispatcher, and I reminded her that 1) I was supposed to be the first customer today and 2) I was promised that a supervisor was going to come this time to assess the issue. She told me that Rafael was the only tech available at this time and that he could fix the issues that I am having. I asked to talk to a supervisor, and her reply was that their only onsite supervisor (Todd) was on another call and he would call me as soon as he was done. So Rafael came at 1:33pm. At that time I had water all over the floor, electrical box, and in the tray of a newly installed furnace. Rafael got in there and fixed the leakage and the taping of all holes, however, he could not fix the wiring since the precious technician had already cut the power cord. He called the dispatcher, Jennifer, while I was standing there to request a new system, and she told him that this ticket number would be closed since the leak was fixed. I requested to speak to her while the tech was on the phone and she declined to talk to me. To date, I have not heard from the Supervisor Todd who was supposed to call me back on 1/20/2017 nor have I heard back from the office regarding fixing the wiring of that installation that I paid $749 for. I was left to dry the water that was sitting in the tray under my furnace as much as I could over the weekend. I am not satisfied with the installation nor the bad wiring of this new system and I am afraid of potential electrical problem/fire in the future. I am not impressed with McCarthy services and their refusal to contact a customer.

They did it right before I did the bathroom. I like for a week and a half didn't have a ceiling and everything i used the restroom, I thought I was going to get crashed. because my HVAC is in the ceiling and it leaked, It broke the ceiling. So we had to cut out the ceiling and replace the bathroom at the same time. It was very costly. They were very straight forward again. The sales person was great. It was very reasonably priced. and the product had been waking well. A year and its been do. Well the test will be in the next 2 years. I initially bought a unit with them and they installed it. everything went fine. I purchased a service pack with them and that was a little bit of a different experience. I would say that would be more of a B because I've been stood up some times by the people coming to do the repair. They were very professional and still even with this other servicial agreement, its mostly professional. its just the challenge is actually making sure that the technician actually come in the window of time, and notifies me if they are not able to show up. (Use again) Yes.
Description of Work: I used McCathy Services for my HVAC which which went kaput in the ceiling and thats what caused me to remodel the bathroom. That was in October. Oh no it was in November of last year, 2015. They installed the new heating and air conditioning unit.That was the item that was more around the 6000 range. Between 6000 and 7000 dollar. And then the subsequent service was like season service packet, I would rate more as a B in that case the Headquarters is better and the sales- not the sale's but the service staff that are out in the vans and stuff.

We had been playing a little bit of phone tag, for a bet so to speak and we were able to coordinate for after the holidays so, its just getting the service done. The technician was wonderful. I think they had a sort of special sale, like 100 dollars for this year which is about a 100 dollar discount from what it normally is I believe. 150 dollars discount, because they want then to get used to the service. and that one i purchased with the unit when I bought it.

The company was available to schedule a visit with just a day's notice so that was good. The window was 2-5pm and the technician didn't show up until just about 5pm which was less good. He seemed rather groggy and sleepy (perhaps because it was 5pm on a Friday) and very hard to understand, sort of mumbling. After two hours of puttering around (including letting the humidifier crash to the concrete floor) he announced that he couldn't fix it as it would require jumping two terminals and company policy did not allow for that except for testing purposes and showed how it would work if it were done. Then he closed things up. At this point the humidifier started working. He guessed that temporarily jumping the contacts fixed the problem. Anyway, I'm happy that it works now but worried it could happen again since he didn't actually figure out what was going on and very unhappy it cost so much (two hours). If this isn't something the company allows to be fixed (via jumping) I should have been told this from the outset instead of nearly paying for two hours of work for nothing.

Worse company ever. Had a new $7000 ac installed 2 weeks ago and it has stopped working twice. The first guy who came to fix it said the installers didn't drain the line so he drained it and it lasted a few days. The 2nd guy said it wasn't grounded and it lasted a day. This is after I waited a few days for them to come out even after explaining I had a newborn that couldn't take the heat. Now it's broke again just a day after after he came out to supposedly fix it. I am in calling in the morning and giving them 1 more chance to get it right or I will be calling the BBB and 7 on your side, Then my attorney. Worse company I've ever dealt with. Update - it's now been a month and it's broke again!!! 3 times a charm!! Never. Again.

I found them through Home Depot, as they are Home Depot's HVAC contractor. I originally paid for a regular, seasonal tune-up for our HVAC, but McCarthy Services found several other (pricey) things that needed to be done, including cleaning the burners and re-rerouting some of the piping. What I thought would be an inexpensive tune-up ended up costing several hundred dollars. I don't think they ripped me off, but I'm not sure we definitely needed all the work that was done.

The first tech came out in a marked tuck and was honest about telling us we needed a new system. He didn't think the repair work would be a good idea when the system needed a lot of work that wasn't cost effective. The second tech came out in a regular vehicle. This tech gave us a quote and said it was only good for 14 days. The first tech said the estimate would be good for a full year. The second tech started talking about Home Depot for some reason. The 14 days make me kinda back off on moving forward to have the work done.

Purchased a $39 water heater flush. Randall came out on the day scheduled (after calling to see if it was ok to come early, which it was). Noticed the anode was due for replacing and checked it. It was full of mineral deposits and he was able to replace it while he was here. Also was able to flush the water heater in my barn for me, not for the coupon price, but close enough. Did not try to sell me anything I didn't need, which I am very happy about. Courteous, professional service.
