The plumber was personable and very professional. He gave us an estimate of how long the water had been running before the burst pipe was discovered. He was well mannered and very skilled. I would be glad to have this plumber come back do work for me again.

The technician identified two tasks related to my malfunctioning kitchen faucet. 1. a worn/damaged cartridge that was causing the faucet to leak, and 2. debris in the hot water line that was preventing the hot water flow. The technician did a good job of replacing the leaky cartridge on the kitchen faucet. Removing the old cartridge was challenging but he proved equal to the task. The technician did not however, complete the second task of clearing the hot water line. He said that he ran out of time and had to move on to another scheduled job. As a result I had to schedule another technician to complete the second task.

The service was fine and I have no complaints.

I used them 2 times afterwards. The first one was through the Angie's List big deal and then afterwards I called them. In fact I would sign an annual contract with them to do the plumbing work. They did more than they were supposed to for the the $59. He spent more time than what he needed to do and I feel very happy about it. Afterwards I called them back and had 2 additional work that I had them done afterwards. They replaced a new a new toilet and sink and then I asked them to do the same thing again last week so they did it.

I purchased the "Big Deal" so of course I was expecting to get a "Big Deal" in terms of service, price and overall quality. I set out the project to be completed. Shortly after purchasing the deal I received a phone call from the office staff (scheduler) to make an appointment. I was unable to schedule at that point & asked to schedule when I was not at work. Did not get a call back, so I called back two weeks later to schedule a timeframe to come & tighten a kitchen faucet or replace one. The office staff read the fine print to me about the deal after telling her I had an Angie's List "Big Deal" coupon. I was told I would have to pay $39.95 for "dispatch fee". I read to her my fine print & there was no where on the print stating a "dispatch fee". She was adamant that this fee exist and would have to be paid for the plumber to come out. This would leave roughly $59 toward labor; which is not much for plumbing service. How would you resolve "Big Deal" cost difference? I contacted Angie's List customer service representative the day before the Plumber technician arrived and asked to clarify what the fine print stated as I may have mis-understood the fine print. I was told there was no mention of a dispatch fee. The customer service rep stated the $100 "Big Deal" should all go toward LABOR services and the fine print did not elude to added fees. After one more re-schedule the plumber arrived earlier today, on time and courteous. He stated the "dispatch fee" would be waived because of Angie's List customer affiliation. We asked for an estimate to replace the current (one year old) kitchen faucet with a newly purchased Delta faucet. The price quote was $369 and with the "Big Deal" the total would be $269. I felt this was not reasonable for the work involved and labor. The technician (plumber) stated the purpose of the Angie's List Big Deal was intended to take $100 off the regular installation fee of whatever plumbing job you needed performed. Albeit, this is not the "main point" listed in the fine print. The fine print listed several plumbing jobs that would be considered normal jobs for this type of deal. The last of the fine print stated it could be used "toward larger plumbing jobs" to reduce the overall cost. In the end, the plumber checked the clapper valves on 2 commodes & stated we could use new clapper valves to keep the commodes from intermittently running. Would you recommend McCarthy Service: I will not use McCarthy Plumbing Services in the future-we did not get a "Big Deal". While the plumber (technician) was pleasant & punctual (as well as patient while we tried to iron out these issues) I feel we basically overpaid for service we did not receive.

The original faucet was tall . It was replace by a similar type but short. I did not realize that until I went to use it after the repairman left. Even with the Angie's list deal it was very expensive. The repairman should have known to check the size . Otherwise he was courteous and cleaned well after the job.

provider said they could not do fix a simple faucet leak in the tub. gave me an estimated of $800 and originally charged the estimate fee of $39. service manager then call back and insisted on charging me the angieslist coupon of $79. got it fixed by another plummer for $200 avoid at all cost. waste of $

They're great. They came on time, did some services that I wanted and gave me some information that was helpful. Really, they're a very well-run company. I've used them on and off since then for several different things. They charged me about $390 the last time they were here.

We chose McCarthy's for plumbing because of great reviews and because we have a maintenance contract with them for our heat pump/AC, which they installed, and which we are very happy with. Their plumbing technicians are also very nice and very professional, and are willing to go the extra mile to make things right when they go wrong. But this experience was very frustrating for me and for their plumbers as well, I'm sure. After the initial installation of the faucets, the pop-ups were not installed properly, and both drain assemblies had leaks. McCarthy''s sent out a second technician to make the fixes. The stoppers were properly installed, and one leak stopped, but the other continued. After a second visit to fix that leak failed, McCarthy's sent a third technician who told me that the plastic pop-up assembly which came with the Moen faucets frequently leak, and the only way to fix the problem would be to replace it with a metal drain pop-up assembly, which he could do for an additional $236. I OK'd the work, because I felt I had no choice. I didn't like the result because the metal pop-up caused water to drain very slowly. Also, the drain appeared to be still leaking, although this time the dripping water could have been from condensation. (Because I was unhappy with the function of the drain, the technician gave me a discount on the cost.) However, on examining the original plastic pop-up assembly that the third technician returned to me, I discovered that an O-ring was apparently not installed (or had been removed by the second technician). I only know this because I went on line to check the installation instructions for the Moen faucets.) It seems the multiple visits to fix the persistent leak and the installation of the metal pop-up assembly were unnecessary or could have been avoided. When I spoke to the manager about this, he was clearly not happy but agreed to credit me for the cost of the metal pop-up and installation, but would not send another plumber to reinstall the Moen parts, which I would have preferred even though the part was of lesser quality, Lesson learned from 5 separate plumber visits: when you provide parts for installation, insist that the installers leave all written materials (which would include warranties and installation instructions) and all spare or unused parts with you. After all, you purchased them to begin with, and these will allow you or someone else to trouble shoot and identify any problems with the installation later, if necessary. If the O-ring had been overlooked initially, it would still be here and the problem could be readily identified, What might have been a small fix turned into a major production which cost both the company and us lots in terms of time, money and frustration.

Very professional from start to finish. They were very attentive while walking through my home to look at some plumbing issues. I received an estimate for other work.

It was okay. They got the job in about 15 minutes. The scheduling and the plumber were okay.

I purchased a coupon off Angie's List for $100 worth of service for $50 and made the call to set up appointment. They said they could send someone out between 1p and 5p, which was fine. Later in the morning I received a call to say they had a plumber that became available and could come out next. Great! He arrived in the next 60 to 90 minutes. After taking a quick survey of the situation, he took the trap off the pipe below the sink.. brought in a power snake, ran it through once and clog was gone. He tested it several times to ensure the clog was gone by running several full sinks of water down the drain and running the water. Quick and simple...Job done! Overall, we're happy to have our sink back, but the $300 price (which was supposed to be a "deal"...normally $350+) seemed to definitely be on the high end, considering the complexity of the job...(also, paying a premium price, it would have been nice to have the floor cleaned up from dirty shoes and equipment. It wasn't a lot, but still enough to where we had to vacuum and mop.) On the plus side, everyone was very friendly and helpful from the first call to the service technician.

It worked out very well. They came out pretty quickly.

Scheduling was fine and they were prompt. The serviceman was fine. He was very nice and polite. This Big Deal appeared to be just a "come-on" to do additional work. I showed him where everything was regarding the plumbing and the inspection was just so they could find other items that they can charge you for. The work was not what I wanted.

It was an average experience. I had a tub that was clogged so I had them unclog the drain. They were in & out within an hour.

This company has great customer service. The quality of the work performed was exceptional and I would highly recommend them to others.

The master plumber was professional. Also, he informed me on every step of the way. In addition, he made sure he and I was prepared. The cost was not cheap but the service and the time it took to get everything completed was excellent.

They we're very responsive. They were proactive and they called me.

Awful experience - I would never recommend them to others. Failed to respond to repeated attempts to contact. Eventually Angie's List found another provider that was excellent.

Excellent....tech came on time...performed his service. Made some recommendations and was in an out in 2 hours.

I bought the "Big Deal" through Angie's List with the intention of replacing a shower faucet when I got around to remodeling a bathroon. Because I never started the remodel, I used the "Big Deal" to repair a faulty toilet. The contractor arrived on time and performed the work in an expedient manner. Great customer service and polite.

Don't know service scope but husband who handled this was very happy. And we will use them again when needed.

The plumber was prompt, and asked to see the toilet. He made his assessment, went out to the truck to obtain some items, came back and was done shortly after. He was professional and provided a receipt for the services. This was a very good deal and I was glad to partake. Under normal circumstances, I am sure that it would have cost a lot more.

Done on an Angie's List Big Deal offer (great price). Was quick and effective. Only qualm: at first he insisted he couldn't do the job without inflicting considerable damage because he could not remove the overflow cover. I told him I had done so many times without a problem and he eventually succeeded.

McCarthy Home Services was recommended to me by a friend when I casually mentioned that I needed someone to do what I thought would be a quick furnace tune up. Prior to the scheduled appointment, my furnace broke down. When I informed McCarthy that I had no heat (this was early December) they made it a priority to come out the next day. Turns out my 17-year old gas furnace needed replacing. McCarthy gave me a quote that day and came out the next day to do the installation. The new furnace was installed in a day although a return visit was necessary to repair some prior venting that was difficult to access with an interior town home (without any additional fees). I have nothing but praise for the service technicians who handled everything professionally and efficiently. I was perfectly happy with my old furnace but after the new installation, I can't believe the difference in comfort level in my home. The service technicians were always on time, professional and respectful. It's hard to comment on price since under the circumstances, I did not shop around. But I paid what was a fair price to me, especially considering that they did everything they could to make my situation a priority in the dead of winter. No question I will use them again and have already recommended them to my friends. No wonder my friend had such high praise for them. I have no reason or desire to even think about using anyone else.
