They were very prompt and advisitory. I sent pictures of the work I needed done before they came to the house and they were able to assess the situation before they even showed up. I thought the tank would need to be replaced because it has started leaking but he was able to tell me it needed to be removed instead. Over all great experience.

Company didn't get back to me to schedule the work. I sent them two reminder messages through Angie's List, and they still did not respond.

We wanted to use the big deal to have them install a toilet we already had, and the extra costs to due so was above what we expected. We were able to find another provider who gave us a better more realistic price and completed the work.

The HVAC tech was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He spent a good deal of time explaining how my system works and what to look out for. He even gave me several important tips for prolonging the life of my unit. The plumber also pointed out a few potential problems and gave me pointers for taking care of them. He was honest and knowledgeable, and did not try to hard sell me any extra services, which I greatly appreciate. McCarthy has won my loyalty and I will stick with them as long as they continue this quality of service.

He did an excellent job. The Angie's List chimney sweep people were here at the same time so I didn't watch the process as closely as usual but the outcome was lovely. I've had an old kitchen faucet for many years and the new one (pullout sprayer) is just wonderful.

I purchased a Big Deal, $100 worth of plumbing services for $50. My expectations were obviously unrealistic. I had hoped to have my toilet tank valve and flapper assembly replaced to stop the toilet from running. However, during my visit I found out that McCarthy charges by the job, not the hour, and their charge to replace the whole assembly would have been $387, minus my $100 of services purchased. My $100 worth of services covered replacement of the flapper and adjusting the water level, which took about 15 minutes. I must admit, the toilet does seem to have stopped running. So did McCarthy take care of my problem? Yes, the problem has been fixed. Did they solve it in the way I had expected? No. Do I feel that I received $100 worth of plumbing services? No. I looked online to get some idea of what replacement of the valve and flapper assembly typically cost to replace, and it seems that the typical charge is less than half what the McCarthy technician quoted. Of course, it may be that this is the typical charge in this area, but I still think it was way out of line. The technician was polite and professional, so I have no complaints about that.

I've had the same pipe to my outside faucet burst on me several time over the winters even though I winterize properly. Tim with McCarthy noticed problems that previous plumbers did not and made made good suggestions on what to do to avoid the problem in the future.

It went well. The scheduling call was courteous and short. We were looking to have two faucets changed, but decided to do only one after hearing the quote. The Big Deal coupon saved us the $75 call charge, and $100 off service. G**** M., our plumber, was a consummate professional. He took extra care to make sure the water was actually shut off before he started work. The replacement was done in an hour, and G**** was professional and friendly throughout the call. Overall, good and punctual service, if a bit too pricey.

It went very well. It was good. I wasn't home. But he showed my husband that the tub was installed wrong. He went to Home Depot and bought a new part. He didn't charge for the time he was gone. I liked that he explained everything. He was very prompt. He was very timely. The price of the parts were reasonable. I definitely would use them again.

It went well. The technician who came to perform the service was very courteous and nice to talk to. He explained, in simple terms and using plain language, what all he did and talked about potential issues with the system. He didn't push for or try to make any sales pitch either for a new system or additional services while he was the service call. I am happy with the service.

The plumbing technician, James, showed up promptly, did an extensive examination of indoor and outdoor plumbing (exclusive of outdoor irrigation system, except that he also inspected the indoor pipe runs of that system for leaks or incipient failures); reviewed his inspection report in detail with me; provided photographs of the extensive cracks in two older toilets; always asked that I accompany him to review in detail the work accomplished that day; also, reviewed in detail planned work for the next time interval; was very careful with house furnishings, and with floors and carpets to insure no damage or soiling occurred; cleaned up and hauled away debris. James also assisted in the selection of replacement toilets; I was delighted with his recommendations - cost effectiveness was a big factor - and now, with some three months of experience with the plumbing fixes, I am equally pleased. I would, without hesitation, engage McCarthy Services for any additional plumbing work I may have. And would certainly request that James be assigned as the Technician to do (or oversee) that work.

It went very well. They came ontime and peformed the service as indicated in the deal. There were no issues and I will use McCarthy services in future.

I had a $50 coupon for $100 worth of service. I called them to tune-up a toilet that was working and flushing, but maybe could fill a bit more quickly. ARS (who really is the authorized repair company for this deal) came over and quoted me a price of $460 USD to replace the innards of this standard toilet. Trust me - a new "Complete Toilet Repair Kit" cost $19.98 at HomeDepot. (Look it up yourself.) I could do this work in 20min and I suppose a professional plumber could do it in 10min. If they did the work, there was still no guarantee that the toilet would fill more quickly. I just went to HomeDepot and did the work myself. I still had to pay them $59.95 for their visit - because the coupon only applies IF they actually perform the work - which they did not in my case. I still have this stupid coupon which is worthless because if ARS is doing work for you then you are by definition being ripped off substantially. Everyone was professional and well rehearsed on the scam. I wonder why the coupon says McCarthy Services and the service provider is someone else - ARS - and that is only in the fine print details???? I also wonder why McCarthy Services has to cut and paste an apology at the bottom of every other one of these reviews.

Excellent and quick. Gary was very pleasant and informative. He provided a suggestion for an additional service that will prevent water leaks in my attic if my system were to clog. I will schedule that service to be completed in the near future.

Realized I am a contracted customer with McCarthy and cannot use this Big Deal. (Angie is awesomely refunding my money.) McCarthy is a wonderful HVAC contractor and we've been with them for many years.. We will stay with them for the foreseeable future.

Company was easy to contact, called to say they would be at my house in an hour. When the plumber arrived, I showed him the two issues I had, first was a leaking garbage disposal, which required a replacement (figured as much) and the second issue was a leaky Filler Valve in my toilet.. He then proceeded to write an estimate and tell me that they offer a great service plan. New Disposal Installation - $596 Filler Valve - Replacement - $225 At this point, I realized this whole thing was a " get us in the door scheme" and told the gentleman to leave. I called the company and spoke to receptionist and wanted to speak to a manager. He did call the next morning, but I was on a plane and missed the call. I replaced my disposal and filler valve on my own for a grand total $120.00. I will be more careful with these Big Deals in the future, these scheme's seem more and more the norm which is unfortunate. On a side note I've purchased some handyman services billed as such and been very happy. I would recommend not doing this unless you just need estimates and $49 is acceptable to you.

I wanted an existing faucet replaced with a newer unit. When the guy got out here, he said he did not have the parts to replace what was needed. We worked it out so they could come out a seperate time where I could fully utilize the deal. The technician was here for 4 hours working on the faucet.

Awesome experience. Tim A. Arrived right on time at 8:00am. He went over each job with me and gave me a written estimate that was very reasonable. I knew it would not be a cheap plumbing day. Being a former contractor on a home restoration, I am very picky about workmanship and had had a repair by McCarthy in the past that wasn't the best but Tim was superb. Being picky as I am, I watched everything he did. He explained as he went and used all quality parts, no plastic. He was courteous, knew what he was doing, knew why the problems had occurred and fixed everything to perfect satisfaction. I wish all repair people were as experienced and knowledgeable as Tim was. I will use McCarthy again but I will insist on Tim for my work! Thank you McCarthy and Tim!

The plumber came out and said anything done would be approx $200 more, Can't do it.

I needed a new handle on my Kohler low-flush toilet. They came in, looked at it, and charged me $100 for a generic handle that they had to cut to fit, and it did not fit right. After they left, I went to Home Depot and bought the correct replacement handle for $12.95 and put it on myself. They also told me that it would be an additional $100 for a replacement flapper. The plumber who came was very nice and pleasant, and he even did a bit of extra work, but he had to go by company policy.
