Innovative Inc

Two painters arrived at 8 am on a Saturday (actually the truck arrived 15 mins early and they appeared on the doorstep at 8 am) and set up the protective plastic sheets and prepared the walls. They worked diligently, neatly, and cleaned up afterward. They were polite, tidy, and their work is excellent. They also did extra work by painting the inside side of three doors, which was definitely a bonus. To expedite the project I had moved all the furniture and paintings so that the painters could work easily, and I provided coffee and snacks plus lunch. They worked so quietly and diligently my husband and I hardly knew they were there. I was amazed how quickly and professionally the work was completed. This is my second time with Innovative and I'm impressed with their business model--always courteous and responsive and the price was reasonable, especially given that they used two colors in each room. If you hire them and don't want the light switch covers painted you might have to review that point. My contract indicated that the light switches would be removed but they were painted over. I didn't make a fuss because I actually ended up liking the uniformity of the color with the switch plates covered. The company is very responsive to email. I asked a lot of questions about type of paint, quantity, whether to buy paint with primer included in it, etc. It would be hard to match the attentiveness of the office staff.

We had Innovative Inc to power wash and stain our deck. The guys that came to our place were very professional, polite and really nice to work with. They did a great job, had an excellent communication and their price is very reasonable. We will definitely use them for future projects.

They did a great job. Everything looks great and they also were flexibile because I painted the front door before they came (wanted to make sure the new color worked!) so we agreed that the would paint some window trim (8 windows) instead of the door at the same cost.

The paint team was very punctual. They were at our house for 5 1/2 days and always arrived early but waited outside in the truck until 8 am. They went out of their way to minimize the time when we could not use our kitchen, which was appreciated. They did a good job of protecting finished surfaces so there was minimal paint spills. One of my pet peeves is an imprecise paint line on the floor moulding and they did a good job at a nice finish. We painted the kitchen and basement ceilings ceiling white because the spaces tend to be on the dark side, and I was going to do the same in the living room, switching if from the builder's custom light beige. But once they got started, I realized I would not be happy with ceiling white in the living room given the amount of custom beige elsewhere in the space (crown moulding, columns, ceiling medallion, etc.) They redid the part of the ceiling they had started and now you cannot tell. It looks great. We also had can lights in the kitchen and basement and the plastic rims had yellowed in the 15 years since we moved in. I thought I could easily buy replacement rims but quickly learned that local big box hardware stores did not have them. Instead we discussed the options and we ended up spray painting the rims with semi-gloss oil-based paint. Now you don't notice the rims because they blend in well with the white ceiling. If there is any room for improvement it would be the tape they use. They should upgrade to a less-sticky versions as the masking tape tended to cause the paint to lift when the tape was removed, causing them extra touch-up. It would probably be less expensive in the long run to use better tape especially on and around fresh paint. This was a fairly complex job with different colors for different ceilings, different color paint above and below the chair rail and a large amount of wood trim. It all went fairly smoothly and the place looks great.

It was fine. They splattered a lot of paint. I was surprised about how much paint was splattered throughout the house since they were painting. They should have been more deliberate on putting down painter's tape and plastic. When I pointed out that I was unhappy with the splatter, they did come and do some work to remove it.

They did a pretty good job. My only complaint was that the estimators didn’t communicate the estimate or my expectations to the crew. I had to reiterate the expectations to the foreman. I specifically told the estimator that I didn't want the aluminum siding pressure washed prior to painting, but this wasn't communicated and I had to stop the crew when they started the pressure wash process. The total turnaround time was 5 working days to complete the job -- some days there were 2 people working, and some days there were 3.

There was confusion in ordering. I sent a picture of the deck as they requested. They said that the deck looked like it was larger than the deal. I remeasured and it came in under the deal specs. Two guys came to pressure wash the deck and there was a delay due to the rain. We had to wait 2 weeks until the deck was completely dry before the staining could be done. The two guys that came out to do the staining were superb. They came on time and did a really good job. There weren’t any drips and they cleaned up well.

I called them about the painting that needed done, but in the end, I decided to use someone else for the whole house. They suggested that I call Angie’s List to get a refund.

Great work, showed up on time, stuck with the estimate, work area was clean neat and well organized. I added some additional work in the process and they responded well and with reasonable prices. They finished a day early.

It went very well, from start to finish. Innovative presented a very clear proposal that was within our means. Since we live in New York and the house is in Virginia, we handled all questions regarding the proposal via email, text, and telephone. The company office manager was unfailingly polite and responsive to any questions we had. When the work was scheduled, she kept us up to date on the progress andcompletion of the project. We paid a 50% deosit before the job began, with the rest to be paid upon completion. Since we were not there to review the finished product, Innovatifve was willing to wait three weeks from the receipt of their bill until we went to Virginia and had time to do a walk-around of the house in person. We did ask them to sand and repaint a small area on the front and side doors, and they again were very good about scheduling the work and following up to see that it was done. All in all a very positive experience, and we would definitely use the company again

They did a great job on all work performed. They came out immediately for the estimate and scheduled the work within two weeks. Showed up on time and worked a solid 8-9 hours straight to get everything done. They were very responsive to what I wanted done and were great on areas I wanted touched up. I will defiantly use them in the near future for other projects. Great work and competitive pricing makes them one of the best contractors I've ever worked with as I recently finished completely gutting my 2,000 sq. ft. home over the past few years. Will recommend to anyone looking for painters.

Innovative Inc. did an excellent job on my 80 year old front porch. As well as what I had contracted them to do, they discovered some rotting wood work beneath one of the supporting columns and were able to fix the problem area. They were very professional in their manner and work. Very courteous to deal with and responsive to all my requests. Highly recommend.

Did a great job! They had at least four painters arrive. The men placed drop clothes on everything, moved all of the furniture to the middle of the room. The paint job was fantastic. There were some things that they didn't do that I thought they were going to do (like remove old nails from the wall) but we hadn't talked about those things before hand and my husband and I were out during the paint job. Great customer service. I would use them again.

They were wonderful. They got the job done in about 3 days. They sent 2 people out to do the job. The cleanup was great.

Great! Melvin and his crew worked very hard and with great care. They were efficient, pleasant and punctual. Melvin was responsive to any questions or concerns and he was willing to go above and beyond to make sure the project went well. I would recommend Innovative to anyone. Very pleased with my new colors!

During the initial inspection for the estimate ($2700), a representative of the company and I walked around the house pointing out where painting was to be done and the rotted wood that was to be replaced. Specifically, 3 pieces of wood were identified to be replaced. When we looked over my weatherworn and splintered deck I asked if the surface could be sanded or otherwise made to look a bit nicer before staining and was told the deck would look nice since the company began with doing decks. This was my decisionmaker as the estimate from another company was less expensive, but I wanted the deck to look better than it did. I was shown a color chart and asked what stain should be used. I said as long as it was something darker but transparent that it didn't really matter and identified 3 dark color options. There was some confusion before work began. I received a couple of emails regarding the color of the deck stain and we finally got it worked out (the color identified during the walk around didn't make it to the estimate so they didn't know I had selected a color). The workers were originally supposed to arrive at 9:30AM and the time got pushed back until they finally arrived at 12:30. They did an excellent job of powerwashing the house and deck. The following day workers came around 10AM and began prepping for paint. It took 4 days to complete the job since 14 pieces of wood were discovered rotted and needing replacement in addition to the identified 3 pieces. The work was done professionally and based on the quality of work one of my neighbors asked about the company the day they finished. The estimate was probably not as detailed as I should have required. Based on the conversation during the initial inspection, I thought the deck was going to be surface prepped beyond a simple powerwash as discussed. Since that discussion didn't make it to the estimate, I got what was contracted, powerwashing and staining. Also, the estimate was clear that each piece of replacement wood was to add an additional $75 to the cost. I thought this was reasonable but was a bit taken aback that during prep for painting 14 separate pieces of wood were discovered rotted. Innovative was upfront with this and did not perform any work beyond the estimate unless I clearly agreed. It was just one of those things where you couldn't see water damage until the prep for painting. Innovative was very responsive to my calls and emails and if there were any questions the work crew lead would ask or someone from the office would call. The house looks much nicer. I suspect my neighbors and the HOA are almost as happy as I am that I had this done.

Pre-work communication was good. They came by to discuss the project and provide a quote, which was competitive with 3-4 others. Over the course of 2 weeks they took to complete the job, they sent 4-5 different teams of 2 painters, which was not ideal. They showed up on time and clean-up end of day was reasonably ok. they were generally responsive and addressed fairly promptly concerns raised. One major concern is that after 3.5 days of prep, they started painting the same afternoon it rained heavily for nearly 24 hours while the paint was curing. I pointed out several problem areas afterwards, which they came back to address. Among these, the 2 coats of paint they had applied to the iron staircase did not cure/dry properly and could be rubbed off with your thumb. They suggested it was a problem with the paint. I suspect that it was due to the fact that they did not prime the surface, claiming that the prime and paint were one in the same. In any event, they eventually did apply a coat of primer, before putting on 2 new coats of paint. All this unfortunate as they had painstakingly stripped multiple coats of paint beforehand. Overall, the job looks nice but I can't help but wonder how long it will last. Despite their claims otherwise, I don't think it's wise to apply a 2nd coat of paint before the first has had sufficient time to dry. Another issue I had is that they at first did not paint the underside of the iron entrance staircase, saying that this was not included in the quote. After some discussion, they agreed to come back and finish the underside. In all, they completed the job undertaken, but I would likely not use them again in the future.

They kept everything clean and neat. The paint job was well-done, especially since it involved painting over some dark colors in some rooms. They did a good job painting around the molding in the room where we asked for multiple colors. Overall, they did a great job. They were late on the first day, for the consult, but they were very responsive and flexible in scheduling before we moved into our house, and I would use them again.

Innovative, Inc. did a fabulous job. Even though they were heavily booked, they made a special effort to schedule my job within a narrow window so that they could complete their work before I moved into my new home. They arrived exactly on time to begin the work. They painted the top two floors of the townhome and did a terrific job. Each room looks great. They completed the work on time and cleaned up carefully. The overall experience was top notch from start to finish. I would definitely use them again.

No one showed up, no one contacted me with an excuse or to reschedule. Nothing. Not my idea of an "A" rated company

The service went very well. They were very responsive and easy to schedule. They were flexible with my schedule to make sure the job got done before an event. They did exactly what the deal stated. They painted a room and a hallway down to the foyer. Two painters came out for the job. They were very clean and neat in their work. There was no mess left after the job. They were very timely and I would definitely use them again.

Company was slow to respond to purchase. Received response from company two minutes after receiving email from Angie's List asking if the service had been scheduled. I emailed back to the company explaining what work I wanted done for the 8 hours of deep housecleaning. This was cleaning of 3 1/2 bathrooms including removal of silica buildup in toilets which can only be done by using a pumice stone and elbow grease, and scrubbing and thoroughly rinsing vinyl floors in kitchen, breakfast nook and laundry, plus some vinyl in lower level if time permitted. I asked for one person for the bathroom work and one for the floors since my deep cleaning needs would most likely take each person 4 hours to complete, thus a total of 8 hours. Turns out that their definition of deep cleaning was not the same as mine -- they were unwilling to spend the time as I had requested; their "deep cleaning" was cleaning the home "from top to bottom" (in a cursory manor from what I could glean); NOT doing heavy duty cleaning that requires a lot of effort and thoroughness. Very disappointed. No one wants to do hard work anymore.

Had a very good experience with Innovative Inc. painting a new 2-story addition to our house (exterior, including trim and new siding). They were very responsive and kept in touch until it was time to do the work. Their bid was very competitive and the work was excellent. They got it done very quickly, were very professional and courteous, and cleaned up after they were done. I would definitely use them again.

Communication was good between giving me an estimate to starting the project! They came 30min early each day and got straight to work! They were clean while working and clean up at the end of the day vacuuming the area they were working. All 3 gentleman were polite and very tidy while working and cleaned up after. They finished a day ahead of scheduled. I reviewed the job when finished and was very happy! I wished I had found Innovation Painters earlier as I've experience it can be difficult finding good painters that know how to handle paint,and paint with it! keeping the area clean while painting and clean up and on time I got all of this from Innovation which means very much to me! Thank you Innovation Inc!!!
