We are family-owned and operated, and currently in our third generation. We are a team of professionals who are licensed to ensure compliance with the laws and codes of the state of Virginia. Got several quotes from other companies and they supplied the best quality unit for the best price. They did a good job installing the unit and came back to make minor adjustments in a timely fashion.

The earlier service call to fix old heater started leaking when they had to empty some of the water from the plastic nozzle, so rather then temporarily fix the old heater which was 16 yrs old had new one installed.
Description of Work: put in new 50 gallon bradford white hot water heater.

Very well, all things considered. Arrived around noon on Thursday the 24 -- about one hour after being called. Diagnosed the problem in an hour of testing/diagnosing, and determined the part could be received and installed the next afternoon. All went as promised, with only one night to shiver in the cold (we have a heat pump upstairs, so it sure was inconvenient, but not too uncomfortable.)
Description of Work: replaced a component in the furnace that failed -- with the temperature dipping to 9 degrees overnight!

WOW - superb service. Made a call and within a few hours, M.E. Flow's manager was at our door. He climbed into crawl space, tried several things and despite being low on techs that day, within an hour, a tech was at our door to repair the problem (a bad fuse). Also changed filter. This was our first experience with M.E. Flow and we will surely be calling them again in our new home after we move. Very impressed. Henry was outstanding (the tech who made the repairs and recommendations). Thank you!!

The service was good. There was miss communication between people in the company about what we were getting and what was to be done. However, once they straightened it out, we were very happy with the service. The prices were in line with other companies in the area. They were on time, installed the unit correctly, and cleaned up well.
Description of Work: They put in a new hvac system. They moved the outside unit when they installed it.They moved it from the back of the house to the side. They changed the entire system.

Great service from the phone dispatch to the tech. Tech was very knowledgeable and fixed the problem. They even came out late in the evening on rush call with the cold weather coming. Highly professional and knowledgeable. I selected them for a second opinion since the first company couldn't get the furnace to fire. It looks like I am going to replace all my equipment and have M.E. Flow install it all.

We've had service/maintenance agreements with Flow for both HVAC and plumbing for many years and they've always been very good. Within the past couple of years they've once or twice displayed a tendency to be less responsive to making return visits to rectify work that we considered to be below their usual high standards. Eventually the issues were resolved. I cannot state exactly when they last date of service was.

They didn't offer us unnecessary equipment, but instead just adjusted the air flow and installed a new heat and cool air exchange for the house.

They explained all problems to me in detail and showed me the issues (which were evident and serious). They gave me a very good price for replacement unit. I did not end up buying the unit. But I think they would be a reliable company to go with when needed.

My old heat pump was a cheap contractor model that came with the house that was 13 years old. The Fan broke off and ripped the heat exchanger up. ME Flow came our within a few hours of my call. The gave me estimates for replacing just the head exchanger, and 3 options for replacing the whole system. We chose to replace to whole system because the old system was Freon based and becoming obsolete. In addition the old system never heated the old house the whole way. ME Flow was the highest of three quotes but very close to one from anther company. The difference was $200.00. Because ME flow responded better to my request for service, and because there quote was far more detailed then the others I picked them and the American Standard heat exchanger with Electric assist. (Complete system). The said the installation would take about six hours. The showed up on time and completed on time. Very clean and very neat. When they started the installation the ME Flow technician said I should have had a small air return in the basement as well as the upstairs ones. He added it at no extra charge. The new system is extremely quite (I paid the extra for variable speed motors). It has worked flawlessly for two months now. I am very happy with ME Flow. A little on the high side for price, but the people are true professionals.

I told them I knew what the problem was I just needed them to repair it, there should not have been a service call. There attitude was not good and they were only worried about the service call fee.

I’m sorry you chose not to have us service your heating and cooling system. We are reviewing our diagnostic fee policy with our call center staff to make sure our policy is understood and to identify areas of improvement. The service fee covers the time our technician spends diagnosing the problem and is pretty standard in the industry. While we appreciate having detailed information about the problem before our technician arrives on site, some of our customers don’t always fully or accurately diagnose their problem. In order to provide you with the best service, our technicians need to make a thorough and independent evaluation of your system. We don’t want to be fixing your heating and cooling system again next week because we didn’t take the time to perform a complete analysis up front! Sometimes, the technician is able to identify and resolve during the course of the diagnoses. In those cases, there may not be a charge above the initial service call fee (unless parts are needed). This may have been the situation in your case. It appears that you chose not to have a service technician visit your home, so I have very limited information on your specific circumstance. The technician arrived on time and was very friendly. He took the time to show me what was broken and explain how the broken parts affected my A/C performance. Tech had an attitude. We had a problem with getting the work done under warranty, even though M E Flow had installed the unit and we have a service contract with them. Have used them for many years but disappointed recently.

the contractor determined that the unit is leaking somewhere between the source in the attic and the unit outside but could not pinpoint it. contractor suggested that I may want to look into replacing unit or they could run more tests or simply recharge the Freon. I chose the cheapest of the three and had Freon added to my unit. It worked well the rest of last summer but broke down again (probably ran out of Freon) this summer so I had another contractor come out and they simply repeated the process. If I can get through these summer with just a recharge of Freon I will do so vs paying several thousand dollars to install a new unit.

He did the job but it did not last very long. It failed after about 3 months because there were plastic parts that were used. We used another plumber to come back out to fix the situation and he used brass and didnt charge any more than this plumber. At M E Flow plumbing company they have different workers come out every time.

We discovered a leak in the ceiling and called ME Flow to come out because we suspected a leaking pipe from the bathroom above. After checking the sinks and tub in the bathroom above, they cut into the ceiling in order to determine where the leak was coming from. The tech quickly determined the source was from a toilet that had been improperly seated on a wax ring using a spacer. The tech pulled the toilet, installed a new wax ring and the correct length bolts (which was part of why we had the leak in the first place because whoever did that install used the wrong size ring and bolts) He also re-caulked around the base of the toilet. I give them a B simply for the fact that we had the impression he wasn't sure how to remedy the leak after he found it...seemed like he was out in the truck a long time on the phone. He was also a little messy when he did the work (scuff marks and grime on the floor) but it wasnt too bad as I would have cleaned up after him anyway. However, he did his job and we've had no further leaks so it was a success and I would use them again. Also - they do not do drywall repair, so if they have to cut it to find the leak, you will have to have someone else come out to do that sort of work (if you are not handy enough to do that yourself)

iOn Friday we contacted to see if it would be okay if a person came to the house at 0700 Monday. My wife agreed and the gentleman , Miguel, was here at 0655. He did not wait for the second person and started working immediately. By the time the second person arrive Miguel had completed a lot. He removed our old interior unit and brought down the new by himself. The second worker arrive and they continued installing our new more efficient American Standard heat pump. Well the installation went without a hitch. They did have a problem using our old thermostat but brought another that worked and we had new HVAC system dehumidifying and cooling by 4 pm. They took time to demonstrate how to keep my new system working properly, how the thermostat worked and all worked well. My wife was impressed with Miguel and the sales rep Gary. I trusted Gary and I have been aware of M E FLOW for a long time. I am happy I went with FLOW.

Gave me options and they included fixiing what I have or consider replacing the unit. supplied me with a person to contact with their company. cautioned me to deal with a reputable company as this would be a major investment. also informed me to ask about current specials. I was impressed with HENRY the tech with his openness and taking the time to explain what he saw and what my options were.

Found unit was covered in ice. First service technician turned off A/C to let it thaw. It was a Friday. He offered to come back at end of his scheduled day to see what was wrong after the ice melted. Company would not schedule him until Monday. They sent someone else out Monday. The technician found a leak in the coil but that was after we insisted he check for a leak. He initially told us it was most likely a leak in the coil, that those parts aren't made anymore and if we could find one it would be too expensive to justify - so he said we would probably need to buy a whole new system. Turned out there was a leak in the coil. We thought we could still find a replacement coil somewhere. He told us we would not be able to find replacement coil -- then told us we would need to buy a whole new HVAC system for thousands of dollars. When we called their service manager, he said we could get the coil part and replace only that. Either the company has a policy of pushing for complete replacement of systems or the service technician gets paid a bonus and was not being professional in terms of ethics. To be fair, this was a second technician, the first person just started the work, tried to return but was denied that ability to take care of the customer on a hot day. It was the second technician who made the self-serving recommendations. It took 4 days longer to get the coil than expected. Instead of installing it as soon as it came in as they promised, they would only schedule it out another 4 days so we have to wait until after another weekend. Total time is 10 days and this is our annual service company. We have done business with them for many years. I guess they don't like replacing parts; they only want to install $10K and over new HVAC systems. Seems the added days we have been made to wait is punishment for "calling" them on unethical practices. Used to be a great company. Time to find a new HVAC company. Too bad because we have used this company for many years. Guess it got too big and too impersonal. Interestingly, we got a quote from another HVAC company - our neighbors use them -- on replacing the entire system. It is significantly lower, by a few thousand dollars. What has happened to what was a great company to work with?

M.E. Flow was very responsive. Even though it was very hot in the area, and they were no doubt inundated with calls, they scheduled us for an appointment the next day and were here at 10am on a Sunday. The first system was low on refrigerant and the indoor unit fan was running slow. The tech replaced a capacitor in the indoor unit that he said showed a low draw from the fan. I can't tell a difference in airflow, so whether that fixed anything I have no idea. He filled up the unit with R22 and the unit cooled for the rest of that day until it tripped a breaker that night. Now three days later the whole system is iced up. This is an 18 year old system so perhaps it's time to replace it. Now, on to the second unit. I told him that the outdoor unit fan wasn't spinning, so he quickly diagnosed it as a bad fan motor and said he could either put in the wrong part that day (way oversized motor), or get the correct part installed the next day for $629. I balked at that price and decided to get a second quote. The next company that came out found that it was the capacitor, not the fan motor, that was the problem. The diagnostic fee paid to M.E. flow on this unit was not money well spent. Aside from the misdiagnosis, the prices for capacitors and refrigerant seem somewhat reasonable compared to another top-rated company that we had come out later. For that reason alone I might consider having them come back out in the future.

Mechanic was quite efficient and diligently did his job and completed everything in about 2 hours and cleaned area up before leaving.
