We are family-owned and operated, and currently in our third generation. We are a team of professionals who are licensed to ensure compliance with the laws and codes of the state of Virginia. Melanie, I wanted to write you and thank you and ME Flow for your help yesterday. I work for a company that does a lot of residential service work and new installations and I understand the homeowners that call in and can be obnoxious wanting all the answers in the world without being able to provide anything close to enough information. I also understand that typically you only hear the negative feedback but it is infrequent that you receive thanking you. So here is one thanking you! Yesterday, you took care of my heat issue promptly and were extremely patient and friendly. Your service man was wonderful. Extremely thorough and very personable. The best compliment I can give both of you is from a business perspective if I was still in charge of the shower door department here you are both people I would have wanted working for my company!

Tech came on 2/12/15 and 2/13/15. The HVAC system failed and I had/have no heat on 2/12/15, 2/13/15, and today 2/23/15. Aaron the tech was very nice and courteous, but clearly stumped. The Carrier people are as well. Aaron stated that he had no formal training on the Bryant-Carrier unit, but gas furnaces are all about the same. I was so grateful for any temporary heat, I paid the ridiculous sum. M.E. Flow promised to see the problem to resolution, but I never heard from them 2/14 to 2/23/2015. Essentially I paid for their poor problem identification. Effort without a solution. Today 2/23/15, I am on the call out list without a specific time for an appointment. It was 61 degrees in my house at 7 am.
Description of Work: Inspect, test, evaluate heat exchanger for recall (did not replace), replaced and then removed pressure switch. Talked to Carrier a lot. Jury rigged system to provide heat. Tech on site 2/13 for 1 1/2 hours and then on 2/14 for 6 1/2 hours. The system has failed again. I have an nine year old 90% efficient system which has run flawlessly until this.

We have used ME Flow for our HVAC needs over 25 years and several houses in Reston. We have carried a service contract and they perform semi-annual inspections and servicing. They installed our first furnace when we moved into our current house, and recently installed a replacement after 20 years when the heat exchanger failed. They noticed the problem, gave us several options, helped us understand available rebates, and once we made a decision they did the installation quickly and correctly the first time.

I was not present when when Dan the plumber arrived. My daughter was there. His approach appeared to be professional in every way during his visit. At the end of the visit he gave her a quote and said he would be back the next day to do the installation. She then called me to give me the quote. I have replaced hot water heaters before but, this was the first time the plumber wanted more than $2000 to do the job. To be fair the $2,200 price included replacing the main and hot water heater shut offs as well. But the itemized quote showed the cost of the hot water heater including installation would be $1749. Some fairly quick research showed that other plumbers in the area would be willing to do the job for between $1,100 and $1,400. I called and expressed my concern with their quoted price. At first they quoted the company line about fixed cost, no risk to the consumer and a 1 year warranty they also said that the plumber had not been scheduled to return the next day as he had said. After I pressed them on the price they said that apparently I did not appreciate their professional approach and that maybe I should find another cheap plumber to do the work. I wont say that the plumber I picked was cheap but they certainly were less expensive and whole lot nicer which I tend to equate at least in part with professionalism.
Description of Work: Inspected the water line and hot water heater. Determined that a new main shutoff, ball valve and hot water heater would be required. Gave us a quote and said he would be back the next day to do the work.

We got a quote from another highly rated provider as well as others - the prices all seemed comparable. What we appreciated about ME Flow is that they sent a person out immediately to our house to talk through options. It didn't feel like a sales pitch and we weren't made to feel like we had to buy the top of the line -- it was a discussion about what was best for our house. The other highly rated company didn't even send a person - they just sent an email with quotes. We signed on the spot with ME Flow, and they were out the next week to do the install. It was a long day with 3 guys work in our basement - but they got the job done with no problems whatsoever.

Provider did not register with Fairfax County, so it took several weeks to close out the project - register the warranty, bonus/rebate check issued, inspection certifications etc. There were issues on initial start up, unit did not work etc, they were immediately addressed, sending out a field tech supervisor to trouble shoot/solve the problem. With more care, the system install could have been clean and professional. As it was, the actual install was simply satisfactory.
Description of Work: Provider provided an accurate estimate and established a date/time for installation, they provided one point of contact on site during installation, the installation was completed in two days - 2 HVAC units upstairs/downstairs and a water heater.

I reviewed your record and I was able to see the documentation related to the delays you mentioned - acquiring the warranties and rebate, and the county inspection. I understand those frustrating loose ends can make a job seem incomplete, but small open items can take a few weeks to close out, especially when we are waiting for turn-around time from a third party. Our team works closely with these third parties to make sure things like warranties and rebates are properly issued as quickly as possible. I was very happy to see that your sales rep and installation coordinator stayed on top of those open items through resolution. But, we are always looking for ways to improve our service. All employees beginning with the Sales Coordinator and then the company's Home Comfort Advisor were responsive, punctual and answered all questions. The on-site installers were also punctual, friendly, efficient and careful around our home. The installation and testing was done as agreed to, and the employees also provided tryaining for the homeowners on the programmable thermostat and the EZ Trap maintenance.
Description of Work: ME Flow employees removed old air handler and heat pump and installed new equipment; removed old equipment; provided training for homeowners on programmable control, new trap etc.

We were living on borrowed time with our ancient heating system (original to our 1985 home). Last winter's electric bills (and never feeling completely warm in the house) left us knowing we needed to replace it. Rather than wait for it to fail we contacted ME low based on a recent repair visit (the air conditioning hadn't come on in June). They were responsive, the salesman, Dan Pollak was very knowledgeable and did not try to oversell us. He asked us questions and measured everything before returning with 4 options for us. We picked one and replaced our entire HVAC system (heat pump, condensor), and water heater. We added an Air Scrubber and our package included a duct cleaning (after the installation), annual maintenance. We signed on a Tuesday night and it was installed on Thursday. We even added a new water heater to the deal. The installation crew were very prompt (early) and cleaned up everything. Dan stopped by to make sure we had our rebate and owner's manual paperwork and that the job was being performed to our satisfaction. I'm sure they were not the least expensive, but their reputation and responsiveness meant more to us in the long run. I feel they will be there when we need help. Due to the weather we have not fully realized the effectiveness of the new system, but it is much quieter (I wondered if it was even on). I'm looking forward to seeing a drop in my electric bills. I would highly recommend M E Flow based on our experience thus far.

Overall it went fine. The sales rep came out on a Saturday (much appreciated) and gave his presentation. We decided on a model that between their base and "gold" model. They arrived, did the installation and left within the window of time that was agreed upon.
Description of Work: Replaced my furnace and a/c unit. Also installed an programmable thermostat.

I went out for bids and ME Flow was under my budget in comparing like systems. In addition, they calculated the existing ductwork and surveyed vent locations to ensure the system was right sized for the home. The installation was prompt, signed a contract on Friday and install was on Monday. The project was well planned for the multiple deliveries of equipment and parts such that there was no traffic jamb in my cul de sac. I did provide working space around the outdoor and indoor areas so there was ample room for the workers. The install took a total of 6 hours - my neighbors replacements took 2-3 days. I did sub contract to have my ductwork cleaned and that too went well too. The work areas were cleaned and checked for debris at the end of the day. After two weeks of of operation I have no follow on issues, however they did schedule follow up visit to ensure we knew how the system worked and to go over the extended contract. Great job guys!

The technician arrived early which was nice. He spent time with the system and explained to me in detail that the primary drain line was clogged. He recommended a cutoff switch be installed to prevent flooding and damage to the system. I decided to have a plumber come out first and see if the drain line could be unclogged.
Description of Work: M E Flow performed routine maintenance on my HVAC unit specifically checking the air conditioning.

M.E. Flow Service Manager Rodney Baker timely responded to my e-mailed letter. He arranged a time to meet, inspected the unit, and had two technicians, Gabreil and Richard L., arrive and reclean the indoor coil and condensation line. He also reassured me that the position of the wet switch was appropriate. Gabriel and Richard were most cooperative, spread a plastic tarp to protect the carpet, and did a very thorough job. I mentioned to Mr. Baker that the side holders of the air flilter were so narrow that I had to bend the filter's cardboard frame in order to fit. He advised the technicians to refashion the holders. (M.E. Flow had installed this unit a number of years ago.) I was not charged for this service, which more than made up for the incomplete and rather expensive job done by the first M.E. Flow technician. Overall this was an A+ experience.
Description of Work: I have an annual maintenance contract with M.E. Flow for my a/c/furnace unit in an Arlington condo. On June 18, 2014 an M.E. Flow technician resolved an a/c leaking problem, chemically cleaned the indoor coil and condensation line, and installed a wet switch. On July 19, 2014 a different plumber hired by our condo's management company cleaned the individual condensation lines from the a/c units to the pvc pipes in most of the condos. The plumber found debris in my condensation line and at the bottom of the indoor coil, which could again clog the line. He questioned the placement of the wet switch.

I took estimates from three companies, and M.E. Flow won the job based on the make of the heat pump, estimated price, and ability to install within my schedule. Leading up to and during the install, there were numerous delays. The install took longer than expected, but it did not cause major problems with my tight schedule. I have been satisfied with the work and would call them again. However, because of the numerous problems with punctuality, I would still get estimates from other companies for my next HVAC job. Because my house is zoned and there are two separate systems, the need for HVAC could come up again.

see above- I am so very thank ful for thier fast response and help.
Description of Work: Offered to remove my leaking ancient hot water heater the same day I called and take a postdated check payment - later I obtained online financing via thier website and they offered no interest financing for longer than the 6 months they ususally offer, up to 12 months because I'm a single mom/grandma working FT+ and I'm strapped. I was so impressed by the extra help thier office staff offered me- They went above and beyond the call!!

Removed/disposed existing equipment and installed new Air Handler/AC with necessary electrical lineset, drain, ductwork and water line connection. Pressurized lineset with Nitro for leaks, pulled proper vacuum and adjusted refrigerant charge. The M.E. FLOW team was prompt, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. They kept our home neat and clean. They explained their progress as the work progressed. Upon completion, the maintenance team explained the operation of the new unit installed and warranties involved. All the work was complete in a timely fashion. We have been on contract with M.E. FLOW for over three years for heating, cooling, and plumbing services. Each and every mechanic from this firm has been exceptionally professional and courteous. On a couple of occasions, senior M.E. FLOW managers dropped by to check to status of the jobs. From top to bottom, this firm promotes high work ethics and a desire to provide the customer with the best service possible.
Description of Work: Replaced existing Air Handler/AC unit for 3rd Floor Condo unit. Also had a concurrent semi-annual plumbing inspection.

Since we were expecting rains the next few days and the backup had been activated, i called M.E. Flow based on Angies List recommendation. The plumber came the same day and 1. Determined the sump pump was not working and replaced it. 2. The cost was provided to me upfront and i agreed to pay the amount. The price of $671 was after waiving the $75 diagnostic fee. 3. The sump pump works just fine. 4. My issues are the following: a. The person walked around the house with shoes, which is fine but not when wet. The floors and carpets were stained and needed to be cleaned by us. b. The sump pump was sealed with caulking as we have radon. The plumber replaced the sump pump, tighted the screws but didn't caulk it back. c. I called customer service the next day and explained to them the issue. They checked with the plumber and basically told me to me that he did what he had todo. d. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was told that he's busy and will get back to me later. Have never received his call. In retrospect, our handyman would have done the work twice (including caulking) for the price and appreciated our business. Very disappointed with M.E. Flow and plumbers in general.

Our policy is to treat your home like it’s our own. Our plumbers and technicians should be wearing booties to protect our customers flooring, except in situations where our plumbers deem them a hazard or ineffective. Additionally, our policy is to leave your home in the same state we found it in, including resealing the sump pump if we find it sealed. Our plumber left the sump pump unsealed, as he believes he found it. While it’s not clear to us whether the sump pump was sealed or not, our management has offered to come back out and seal your sump pump at no additional cost. You will be receiving further communication from our office regarding this service, but feel free to call at your convenience to schedule an appointment. We value your business and hope we can continue to serve you.

ME Flow is a very professional firm. They show up on time, do what they say they will do and go over all the details of their service.
Description of Work: I had ME Flow check my heating system for winter. I signed up for the to check the AC in the spring. They found a gasket leak in in one furnace and repaired the next week.

We first had an estimate and the serviceman went through options and pricing -- very professionally done. The installation was accomplished in one day with the crew sent over. The team did a nice job cleaning up afterwards as well. We did have one issue with the billing -- the final bill did not reflect the initial deposit -- but one quick call to the office and that was quickly corrected so we paid the amount quoted as opposed to more. Overall, quite pleased with how things went with the first replacement of this unit.

The service went very well. They were professional and they wanted to ensure that I was receiving a great service. The quality of work was very good. They also refereed me to a financial institution and gave me an energy efficient unit so I could qualify for a rebate with my electrical company. They went above and beyond to help me.
Description of Work: I had to have my heating and air conditioning unit replaced.

Our team worked from the Alexandria M.E. Flow location ( Darren, Brian, Jesus, and Mike). Darren Barnes performed the initial walk-through and assessment of our heating and cooling systems. He spent a great deal of time explaining all options and answering my husband's questions. We appreciated his professionalism and his expertise...there were no "hard sell" tactics. It was a sharing of information and we asked his recommendation. A week later, delayed one day because of inclement weather, the team showed up ready to work. Two and three installers were here and working at all times. Darren saw to every detail and explained every exception to the project plan...he kept us in the loop from start to finish. We had to move the thermostat from its previous location. We chose and alternate site and then that would not work. We selected a third location and Mike did some creative "fishing" to get the wiring through some crazy vents and walls. We appreciated the long day of hard work. They wore shoe protectors inside the house and tried to use the garage for all their comings and goings. Brian and Jesus were there the entire time and on the job! We felt very good about our decision to replace our older units (14 years old) and had a smooth transition to the new systems. We were very impressed with the team of installers...professional and gentleman. M.E. Flow is very fortunate to have such fine employees.
Description of Work: Remove and dispose old a/c and furnace. Install new a/c system and furnace. Relocate new thermostat, rewiring from outdoor to new thermostat location. New insulation from furnace to condenser. New outdoor faucet.

Annual inspections of my systems required to maintain warranty coverage, cost per year for service approximately $295. I consider this amount high for two inspections per year that take about 1-1.5 hours each, considering I purchased the HVAC systems from the firm and would have expected a discounted inspection cost during the warranty period. Otherwise, the technicians sent to do the inspections have always been prompt, called in advance to coming, been very professional and knowledgeable. I have never had any problems with the systems they installed ~5 years ago, so can not comment on their ability to troubleshoot and repair systems. But, years ago on my old systems they were able to quickly and correctly identify and complete repairs, never requiring call backs for the same problem. So overall I am pleased with all aspects of the services provided, except the above comment on inspection cost.
